We made three fun dives with them during our 10 day vacation in Bayahibe. Every trip was perfect. Equipment was good. Dive guides were professional and nice. We had very small groups which we prefer. The diving school is just across the street from where the boat leaves so you donā€™t have to drive anywhere once you are at the diving school. We will come back at the end of the year to dive with them again!

We were referred to Casa Daniel by our travel agency guy and we couldn't be happier about our experience. We wanted to do the OWD certificate and we got the option to stop the education after one short trial. Turns out we loved it and continued. We got picked up at our hotel perfectly in time for all appointments. Equipment was always taken care off, prices are fair and the atmosphere was always pleasant, but surely professional. Our instructor (Patrizia) was always attentive and careful with us newbies and I have to say she made learning to dive an amazing experience for as - a lot of credit goes to her. Casa Daniel was by far the best part of our Bayahibe vacation.

We stoped by the shop on a lazy Saturday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. There was a young looking guy sitting in front of the shop wearing dark sunglasses. I greeted and started asking about scuba diving with them. He did not even get up from his chair nor did he offer me a seat. Seemed I had disturbed his nap. Finally he did not offer me anything. I do not know if he was the manager or just a lazy employee but I would never go diving with people with this attitude. Impolite and lazy. There are better places around. I am an experienced diver traveling a lot and I rarely have to face this kind of treatment.

Great experience from booking, over nice friendly Boat crew to fantastic diving at Isla Saona with endless beautiful soft coralā€˜s (Dive Guide was Sophia from Swiss Diving School Casa Daniel). Lunch time at the almost empty Saona Island was great for nice Beach pictures. One the way back we stopped at beautiful Sandbanks (natural pools) where we could see colorful sea stars.

We booked an excursion to Saona with Casa Daniel. We traveled with our 9 months old baby. Prior to the tour, Casa Daniel confirmed it was appropriate with a baby. I can definitely say it's not. We joined another large group of tourists on a catamaran. As soon as we left the harbor, the music started to play very loud and we were told to move to the front of the boat, in full sunlight, which we obviously couldn't understand and disagreed to. The same thing happened on the way back...

The only reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1 star is because we were given a 50% refund but we should have had a full refund. Be aware that Casa Daniel is just a booking agent for excursions to Saona and Catalina island and they do not run them themselves. Once youā€™ve paid, youā€™re passed to a third party and left to suffer. Hardly anything of what is advertised on their website actually takes place. Itā€™s really just a booze cruise. Their website uses phrases like ā€œwith our motor catamaran we visit the beautiful beaches . . . ā€œ but itā€™s not their catamaran and they donā€™t come on the trip with you. We were put onto a catamaran which didnā€™t have enough seats for all the passengers meaning many of us had to sit on the floor which was very uncomfortable. It was a booze cruise and not a tour as advertised. There was no English speaking guide, and in fact, there was no guiding at all, despite the website saying ā€œwith your English speaking guide providing information to the National Parkā€. We had no information about the national park at all. It was simply a case of blast out the music at full volume and dance and drink rum. The music was so loud that it really upset our children. We asked 3 times for it to be turned down a bit, but each time they turned it up again after a couple of minutes. The ā€œnatural swimming poolā€ was anything but natural. There were at least 15-20 boats there all with 25-50 people each. This clearly happens every day and so there were no sign of the expected red starfish and no sign of any marine life whatsoever. The promised snorkelling did NOT happen. The trip to the fishing village with guided tour did NOT happen. The food at Saona island was disgusting and they ran out of bread. We had pre-booked a vegetarian meal for my wife but the boat crew knew nothing about this. Similarly, I had followed the information on their website which said ā€œon request, chicken or fish can be reserved in advanceā€ but this was not done and due to dietary requirements all I could eat were some potatoes. There certainly wasnā€™t any lobster or pork as suggested on the website. The beach that we were taken to on the island was probably the worst one available. We passed some lovely beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters and beautiful sand with no seaweed and ended up on a seaweed ridden beach with murky water. There was a stench that was always present that smelt like a sewer. We had a speed boat on the way back which was much more fun than the catamaran as we didnā€™t have music blaring down our ears. The big problem here though was one of safety in that there were no child or infant sized life jackets and so they wore the same ones as adults ā€“ this made the life jackets not only uncomfortable, but completely pointless as the kids would just fall out of them. On the way back we were expecting ā€œcolourful Caribbean fish you see on our last stop when we stop for snorkelling shortly before Bayahibeā€ ā€“ this did NOT happen either. I would suggest that this place sticks to its scuba diving as thatā€™s what it appears to get good reviews for and it should ditch the excursions for which it is a booking agent. We had hoped to go with them on a trip to Catalina and for me to do some scuba diving, but needless to say we donā€™t trust them to do that properly. I had been asking for over a week which day they would be doing the Catalina trip and Penon dives, but they are so disorganised that they still didnā€™t know on the day we arrived for the Saona trip. If theyā€™d have given us a full refund, I may have gone for 3 stars instead of 2, but we have still had a day of our precious holiday ruined by this booking agent who deliberately misrepresent what is on offer.
