We got upgraded to premium level and it was great. Main difference is you can book dinner at a restaurant each night unlike regular guests who gets restaurants half of their stay. We loved the Japanese (Palace), La Brisa and French restaurant (both in the adults only resort). Others are ok so if you don’t have a lot of time book those first. Premium also gets lunch and breakfast upstairs away from the crowds. We didn’t get any special premium liquor when ordering drinks unless we asked for it. The staff in the premium lounge was very friendly and helpful during our stay. Also premium guests get to use the spa facilities for free (except massages) so that’s another plus. Overall our trip it was very enjoyable and can’t beat the value for the price.

This resort has so much potential but lacked in many crucial areas. I'm actually shocked by all the positive reviews. We have traveled to multiple all inclusive resorts and this was our least favorite. Our biggest disappointment was there was absolutely no service provided at the pool, for drinks or food. Food at the pool wasn't even an option. The only place to eat breakfast or lunch is the buffet, every single day, and the buffet food was not very good. Only one pool bar for the entire pool to share, no bar even close to the beach. No room service (additional cost). The staff was not friendly like most resorts, they seemed bothered to help you (and yes, we tip!) We only had two good meals (Italian and Japanese restaurant) the entire week. The beach and the grounds were beautiful and we made the most of our trip. But to pay the money we did was disappointing. Definitely not a resort I would recommend or ever go back to. I will add, we stayed on the family side not adults only. Apparently the adults only side had more services offered....I wonder who paid more for their trip?? Keep looking!!

A wonderful resort especially for families. Here are the best parts: - free activities, sailing, kayaking, volleyball, shows, etc - great selection of restaurants - very friendly and helpful staff - very clean rooms, standard daily service - if you can get a room for <300 a night it's also great value, especially compared to the other resorts near by What they can improve on: - quality of food and drinks. sometimes it's clear they are cutting corners - renovating guest rooms. the rooms feel a little dated

Right from the start it was a bad experience. Check in took well over an HOUR. Waiting in line in the front lobby. Nobody was in any hurry or organized to make the process go quickly. This hotel and resort is run as though it has been in operation for a week. No efficiencies. The AC in the rooms is atrocious. It barely cools the room. The food is extremely suspect at all of the buffets. The quality of the food everywhere is unacceptable. I shutter to think of what the kitchens look like. A few of the people in our party got incredibly sick. The dine in restaurants features a terrible "buffet" of appetizers and deserts. They also don't have or don't want to turn on the Air Conditioning in the restaurants despite our requests. It's impossibly hot, making the floors like skating rinks and it is extremely uncomfortable to sit and eat. There is exactly one swim up bar and the service is (with a few exceptions) rude and dismissive all over the resort. It's as though nobody wants to be working there. Virtually nothing is included. All the things they advertise are extra. Don't go here. ---------------------- Edit - I'm even more disappointed now in your reply. I made my review midway through our stay. You had ample opportunity to try and make things right. Instead you chose to respond the day after we departed. No chance I'll return and I'll be spreading to word.

THIS HOTEL HAS ROACHES! I’m not sure if they are paying people to leave reviews to make this have 4 stars, but this hotel functions as a 2 star at best. I normally don’t leave reviews but I was so bothered by the hotel not caring about its roach problem and instead blaming it on the season changing/ weather that they completely dismissed me, I really feel the need to share. I rely on reviews when I book my hotels and as of 10/18/21 let me just tell you that his hotel is infested with roaches. I went there for a wedding and after a night of drinking and having a good time, I go to my room to see a roach crawling down the wall in my bathroom. Of course I nearly fainted and my boyfriend had to come save the day. It wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t make my way to breakfast the next morning and another bridesmaid said she woke up to a roach crawling across her head. We both stared at each other in disbelief. I was part of the hotel rooms under premier and so we went to talk to a manger and they said it was nothing they could do but maybe change our rooms. At that point I didn’t think changing a room mattered, the hotel clearly has a roach problem. I just wanted my money back or some sort of refund. Who wants to go on vacation and deal with roaches. It was absolutely disgusting, made me not want to eat the food and ensure I zipped my luggage up each time I went in it. Do not stay at this hotel or risk having roaches.

I was super disappointed with this trip. I heard nothing but good things about this resort. But, the service was by far the most disappointing thing. At dinner the buffet was a 2/10. The buffet food was not tasty and not Hot ever. The restaurant’s are fantastic but if you aren’t a premium member you can’t reserve every night for dinner. Also at dinner, they would come ask for your drink order after you were done eating. Multiple days i asked for a drink and the reply I got was “sorry we don’t have that” what am I paying for if you don’t have it? We asked for towels in our room multiple times and they would show up in our room hours later and sometimes wouldn’t get them at all. The activities on the resort are fun and the lounges and bars are good. The pools and beaches are also great. Would I ever come back for the price I paid ? No way. I would come back for half the price if that. Total trip 5/10….

This was one of the most beautiful resorts we have been to. It has such great potential but it lacks on so many important areas that it was one of the best/worst experiences we had. 1 service was so Bad my family and I can remember the names of the 12 people who gave us an excellent or decent service, I will say only 15% of staff is really nice and has REALLY GOOD COSTUMER SERVICE. 2. The No food at the pool or the 0 Bars near the beach is a REALLY BIG MOOD KILLER. This place has great potential the rooms were neat clean and everything was beautiful and clean. But they really need to improve those aspects that are Keeping them away from being as great as they can be. As a side note the show they have every night is a great show and the Michael Jackson show made me and my two little brothers wish we were able to go back in time and go to one of his concerts.

Stop here from May 6-9 and it’s a gorgeous resort the rooms are clean and the ocean views are amazing. The staff sent us stuff right away anytime we called for towels, extra water bottles, etc. But when I say this whole trip my husband and I ate bread and fruit, we really did. The food at the buffet was disgusting. He found meat raw, all of it tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. We had them cook us fresh food for our family for a birthday dinner and that food was fresh and still absolutely gross. The only time we had an amazing meal in DR was when we left the resort. It’s a shame because it was really beautiful but we all said we’d never go back.

The resort was beautiful and relaxing. The service and activities were great as well. Unfortunately, the food was not that great. Usually, the restaurants are amazing and buffets are average but in this resort it was the opposite. The buffets were pretty good but restaurants not so great. With the exception of the Mediterranean restaurant. That one was AMAZING. Thanks for the stay!

Multiple people (including myself) have had reoccurring issues with room keys suddenly not working. Guest services near my room is unstaffed nearly all day so I've had to walk all the way to the front half of the resort to wait in line at check-in (which is a ridiculously arduous process to begin with). The staff was completely unhelpful and the service on this trip has been anything but helpful. Management is obviously non-existent and the staff don't care to provide services already paid for. If you get lucky maybe you'll have a good time because you won't have any issues but don't expect anyone to be around to help in the case that you do have an issue. And above all, if you have anything you have to have access to around the clock don't leave it in your room, you'll be locked out. The beach is beautiful but I can't give them too much credit for that. The food is adequate and some dishes are even quite good. However the times that the buffet open don't make any sense. There are two halves that don't even stagger their times in a meaningful way, so if you bring kids expect to have to eat at the sports bar for some meals (if you eat lunch at... shocker...noon!). All in all, I do not feel welcome or appreciated as a customer. We've been to this resort for many years and after this experience I fully expect to not return. Especially because there's no acknowledgement of the problems the guests run into. If you read these negative reviews you'll notice they're dismissed and nothing changes. I don't think management is interested in feedback other than positive feedback.

Went over spring break with large group. Couldn't get reservations at the restaurants until super late. Was accused of stealing money by a customer at the casino bar and staff indicated it was a ordinary ritual with this particular gentleman. It was an intense engagement. Overall, was not a good experience. I'm sure it's better when less crowded but they could do a better job in busy season.

My recent stay at this establishment turned out to be an extremely pleasing experience. One feature that I particularly appreciated was the well-planned layout of the property. The buildings are meticulously compartmentalized with sections tailored for families and adults, creating an environment that caters to all types of guests. On a more personal note, we had an unexpected need for medical consultation during our stay when my two-year-old toddler encountered a minor pool-related mishap. Thankfully, the hotel had an in-house clinic, which turned out to be a godsend for travelers with children. We received excellent care from Dr. Solis, who was compassionate, professional, and adept at handling our concerns. Having such efficient medical assistance within the hotel premises certainly adds a layer of comfort and convenience. The dining experience was another highlight of our stay. The food served at the hotel's restaurants was impressive, consistently meeting our expectations with its quality and variety. It is worth mentioning that the culinary offerings certainly enhanced our overall experience. Lastly, I'd like to commend the hotel staff for their consistent friendliness and professional service. Their attentiveness and warm interactions significantly contributed to making our stay memorable. Their hospitality genuinely reflected the hotel's commitment to ensuring a delightful experience for its guests. Overall, our stay was marked by comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a well-rounded hotel experience, especially for those traveling with children.

Location of hotel is excellent lovely long beach, can visit other resorts. Saw turtles along the coast which was nice. Plenty of activities to do just a shame they don't stop people from putting towels on the lounges on the beach or surrounding pool with no one actually using them as guests are too busy in the pool bar. Needs to be maned better.

I just spend 6 days at this resort. I was very disappointed. The service and food was my biggest complaint. It's very difficult to get the help you are looking for. Always long lines at the customer service and front desk. After standing in line for 15+ minutes you are redirected somewhere else.. Most of the staff are not friendly or helpful, from the front desk to the servers. The food is always the same at the buffet, is not flavorful nor tasty. Most of the time the food is cold or not fully cooked. As gor the restaurants you have to make reservations and out of the 7 restaurants we eat at, the only one we liked was the Japanese one, it was hibachi style the steak and salmon were delicious. The facility is very pretty and that's about all they have. For the amount of money I paid. I will never come back,

Overall had a great experience. I traveled with my wife and our kids a 7month and 3 year old. The kids had a blast. All the staff and services were above what we expected from the day we arrived. Don't let the bad reviews fool you. Rooms, beach, and pools were clean. Staff goes above and beyond to offer you a great experience.

They forgot to put a new towels all the time. Room cleaning no words at all! Spend all time on excursions and it was great! Sleep for a few hours and go away from the room. There is only 2-3 people who can speak English and service very rude. If you need help you need to wait minimum 45 minutes at the front desk. Good luck guys! We never come back I’m sure there is more better hotels in this area for this price. But all friend recommended this hotel, no idea why.

Beautiful resort. The beaches are wide and very long. The water is clear, no rocks. There was a bit of seaweed, but the staff did a great job cleaning it up. Plenty of chairs and shade from the trees on the beach. All staff very helpful. Very kind friendly. Loved most shows at night, very entertaining for all ages. Food was stellar. Great reservation restaurants. The buffets were really busy everyday. Hard to find a table for breakfast and lunch. We paid for the premium, well worth it. The breakfast and lunch at the premium restaurants did not have as great of a selection of the menu and buffet. Not kids friendly options. Great place to vacation.

This place could have been great. We would have given it a higher rating but because they had no nightly entertainment as they should have (discotheque, saunas closed and theater had no live entertainment only videos playing). We ended up heading to bed earlier than at home Lol. Food was all you can possibly desire and many times incredibly good. Service staff definitely A+ rating. Beach, pools and other amenities including the spa were pristine. Would definitely go back only if nightly entertainment is reopened.

The grounds and facilities of the Bávaro Barcélo Palace are beautiful and huge. We stayed in the family section with a great interactive kids pool. The rooms were spacious enough for the four of us and there were two balconies (one off of each bedroom). It did get a little noisy when all the little kids in the building woke up. There is vibrations of noise throughout. Despite the fact that the resort was full, there is plenty of space and room around the pool or on the beach. The only time you feel the crowds is when it’s feeding time. Then the place turns into a zoo. The food is sub-par at best. And because they have to turn over so much food so quickly to feed so many people it was often times served cold or raw. The same salads are served everywhere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The quality and taste are really lacking. If the food was better we would return. But after 5 days of eating that food I was ready to go.

The beach and the pools were great. The service of staff was friendly and excellent. The room was nice, bed was great, lacking in the bathroom privacy, so be sure you like the people you are with. The food left a lot to be desired. For all inclusive they really limited what could be ordered from the already limited menus.

Great place! Had a fun time. The service is good if you too we’ll. I felt safe with Covid. The rooms were clean and the restaurants are very yummy! And it’s so beautiful. The beaches are pristine and private to the resort. What a great time! Great for the family. Go the the 18+ side if you don’t have kids.

The beach is full of seaweeds and they do not clean it at all. I have been in many other resorts which they clean the seaweeds but haven't see anything here! I upgraded to premium but still the quality of food is really bad and I did not get the service I expected. They have cancelled all the entertainments and literally there is nothing to do after 6 PM.

This is the worst all inclusive I've been to. The food is a disaster. They have one restaurant that doesn't require reservations and it was Mexican food only. They also close several times a day. The food is cold, not cooked correctly, and not actually correctly labeled. The bacon definitely isn't bacon. The reservation system is horrible because it's hard to get a time. You shouldn't have to scramble just to try to feed yourself. On top of this they are only open at night. Good luck eating while here.

The rooms are less than par. Not what was described to me when I booked the reservation. I bought the Premier i could not get into any restaurants the food was absolutely horrible. I have never stayed at an all inclusive that was this horrible usually they are wonderful. The staff never smiled except for the food staff servers and that they were wonderful. All other staff their head within their phones and no one smiled no one said hello. The premier staff was downright rude. This hotel was not accommodating at all. I was so disappointed I wanted to leave after the first day but they would not refund my money of course not. Do not waste your money go somewhere else. They were fighting in the hallway and a lot of drunk people I had to call security and we met other families and they had the exact same problems that food bad service and they had to call security. Anyone interested I have pictures

Place is beautiful!! Food choices were massive, not everything was great but what wasn’t you can always change with something that you like 🤗 Sea food options was amazing,so much fish to eat!! Staff wise ,unfortunately very little staff can speak In English but that wasn’t very big issue as we where trying to talk in Spanish and it seems that we all understood each other 🤗 I’m coming from hospitality industry so I know how hard is to smile whole day for several days and long working hours,we all need to understand each other! Beach was great, there was grass but it was removed 1-2 days after it got full ( which make sense), you will not clean such a massive beach daily! Anyway, great job on keeping it so tidy and beautiful!! People working here 24/7. Trimming trees, cutting bushes, cleaning pool and etc. We were really impressed of how clean and well maintained hotel was.!! It was a long journey but very worth every minute and penny!! Even made some friends with restaurant staff members! We already recommended this to our friends. 1000% coming back!!

This was the first All Inclusive Resort our family has experienced. Magnificent property! Unlimited food and premier liquor. Not all buffet style dining… the restaurants for the buffet style dining are exceptionally clean, organized with a wide variety of foods! Staff and service were outstanding! There are also 7 top notch restaurants to enjoy formal sit down dinners. Making a reservation to each of these restaurants was quick and easy through Concierge during our stay. Men are required to wear pants to the French restaurant or you will not be seated. The rooms are big and clean. Unlimited room service was amazing! The pool is great and just steps to the beautiful beach. Spa and gym excellent. Excursions can be booked by hotel… the Dune Buggy off road adventure and cruises were an unforgettable experience! This was an unbelievable family vacation!

I stayed at this hotel in July 2023 at the family superior room and other family rooms located in the building behind the lobby and by the golf course. We reserved a total of 6 rooms and we found many issues in all of them. The rooms are in critical need for renovation and housekeeping. We found a room not prepare and other rooms with hair, dirty restrooms and floors, trash and other non pleasant issues in the rooms, see attached photos. I had an opportunity to see a junior suite room located in the building by the beach which is considered a higher level room but it was the same. The foods at the buffet restaurants were not great either and got a stomach virus. The service in the these restaurants needs great improvement. It was very difficult to get a cup of coffee or a glass of water. I had the opportunity to dine in on several of the a la carte restaurants and found they were decent but need work. The beach and pools were not bad. There were not many fish in the beach, I hunted for turtles but was not lucky. I do not recommend this resort because the prices does not reflect what is offered.

The resort overall was nice, lots of pools and the unlimited drinks is great. Staff was amazing and friendly at all times which Is always a plus. The reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars was the food, I feel like they should focus on quality more than quantity. The restaurants were below average, the seafood one was horrible, the steak one was also very bad the only decent one was the Mexican one and the buffets breakfast. Other than that the excursions would definitely make your trip better.

The place is beautiful, but the customer service is horrible. Nobody knows what’s going on. If you need anything you have to go to guest services where there is a long line to talk to someone. Most of the time they cannot even help you, and instead direct you somewhere else to search for help. The employees at the front desk give you a nasty attitude as well. The food is good but you have to almost fight for a table. The servers are no help either. If you want warm food at the buffet, you have to wait in line. The bar is good 👍. The bedroom was dirty and some of the cleaning staff just don’t care to give you a dirty room, I had to call multiple times to get some one to come to the room to clean properly. The laundry service charges a ridiculous amount of money. $3.75 for underwear, $5 for a shirt, $10 for a pair of pants. This is for laundry, not dry cleaned. So if you are thinking of going there make sure you bring plenty of clothes. Again, beautiful place, but that’s about it.

Hotel and beaches are beautiful. The staff is very nice and polite. However, the food has been among the worst I have ever experienced. Clearly mass produced and systematically bad regardless of where we have gone. Whether you go to the private restaurants or buffets , or room service, our experience has been terrible. La Comedie has been the exception. The list of wines for purchase is great. Wonder why a place like this would not have a higher class restaurant with decent food for purchase. Obviously, the all inclusive stuff brings the whole experience down. In addition, there are no opportunities for those who want healthier foods. There are no smoothies, no protein shakes, no yogurt parfait, no oatmeal. Very disappointed. Most stuff has added sugar in it. Such wonderful setting contrasted by terrible nourishment. Finally, very limited number of kayaks, paddle boards, etc and staff for the amount of guests in this place. Three attempts and was never able to get one after hours of wait. I bought premium status for a family of seven which cost s fortune but don’t feel this place delivered. I will not return.

Great place and perfectly priced vacation destination. The all inclusive aspect is worth it beach is clean pool is very nice. Food was very good especially the Hibachi. Only reason I didn’t rate this resort a 5⭐️ is because I feel the place is too big for its own good so many dead and deserted areas that could be used for way more attraction’s. Staff is friendly they just need to pay alittle more attention to detail

I love this hotel, I am a fan of the installations, the location, the food and it's people. They have a great customer service (almost everyone). I am a Barcelo member, I been in many different Barcelo hotels, but this one is my favorite, I am a regular there. But this year it's been impossible to book there because their prices are way too high. What's wrong with you? You check now, and then you check next day and the prices are higher even by $100 dollars extra per night. It makes no sense. How is possible that 2 weeks ago I checked their website and the price per night was $165 and I checked again this week, for the same date, price is almost $500 per night. That is insane. You need to get it together. You are going to loose 2 valuable customers, that even during the pandemic, when your hotel was empty, we were there supporting the economy and the people that work there. For the first time, I am going to check other hotels because of your scamming prices. Thanks for reading.

Next week, we are going to this hotel for a family reunion (from 16th to 24th) with seventeen guests (4 Family rooms). I have sent two emails regarding our reservation and upgrade options, but no response to any emails so far. I was expecting a better response, but so far, no luck. We will update this review based on our experience when we return from this vacation.

My wife and I stayed here for about a week and got multiple personal items stolen from us. The first day the cleaning service came to clean the room and after coming back from our daytime excursion my designer sandals were missing along with a couple other personal items. I am not happy at all with the concierge. He was very dismissive and Unhelpful, and very sarcastic with my wife when expressing her concerns. He began by telling us we have to file a police report where the police will search through our room. I feel taken advantage of because as foreigners the workers know that we do not feel comfortable with POLICIA coming into our room being that we don’t speak Spanish… I do not recommend this resort if you are looking for good service. It’s pretty on the outside but the workers do not actually care.

Great resort to stay with/without kids. The room is super clean, the food is good, and everyone can find something to eat . There is entertainment for people, sports, and a nice beach with beautiful water. We stayed there with kids, 3yo and 8 months, so we visited the free kid's pool with slides. There is another one that you have to pay for; it looks fun, but it's more of for older kids. Then, we found another kids pool, small but good enough for toddlers. It was close to buffets, which was great for us. It was the end of February, so the weather was kind of windy. I wish it was a bit warmer. Anyway, I would definitely recommend that place. I want to go back there!🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🏖🏝🌊 No big waves!

We stayed for 5 days at Barcelo, the adult beach. The service we received was top notch. Maria was hands down the nicest, helpful and sweet breakfast/lunch waitress. She made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. There is a lack of knowledge about what is happening around the resort and at what time. I watched a lot of YouTube videos prior to arrival and I am glad I did. The water pressure in the showers was strong, the AC cold, the grounds were impeccable and the pools/beach were pristine. The food lacked flavor, or it seemed to all taste similar. The drinks were delicious but on the weak side. Definitely get the Premium Level package, the extra amenities are worth it! We are planning an annual trip to PC now!

One of the best all-inclusive hotels!!!! Perfect service, great drink quality and a lot of food variety. Amaizing pools and amenities. Best recommendation by far if you want to go to a Caribbean hotel for a long weekend. PS: Miskeyla was an amazing host!!! Really fun all the activities that she organized everyday

So, maybe you're a morning person, or happen to wake up early and can't go back to sleep, either way, you're up and would like an espresso or coffee. There's only one place to get one, at the buffet, from a mass production commercial machine. Alright. You make yourself a coffee or espresso and wish to take it to the beach. No. You cannot. No being one of the most common words at Barcelo, despite it being something you wouldn't or shouldn't hear too often when paying thousands of dollars for an all inclusive. Now you might be thinking, "Why Not?" Why can't you take a beverage to the beach. Because, they don't have any paper cups to do so, or even plastic, which one shouldn't use for a hot beverage. Another Barcelo best. Good job at being the worst resort I've ever had the displeasure of wasting my money on. Stay tuned, because I'll be sharing more about why Barcelo stands for below basic and below standard.

It's a beautiful resort with lots to do. Beach has lots of palm trees and large, but the chairs fill up fast. There are lots of sea weed and so we never got in the water. There are several nice pools, but no food service. The food was good, nothing amazing but lots of choices are available. This is the largest all-inclusive resort that I've stayed at, and I'm sure that is why they don't offer some things that smaller all-inclusive resorts can offer. Very few workers understood English, and it made it difficult to order food at the restaurants and communicate. The rooms are OK. We stayed in room 1009, and it was not bad except one morning we had raw sewage back flowing into our bathtub. They were quick to get it fixed, but it was nasty. It was good, but with so many other resorts to visit, I don't think we would return again.

This place was beautiful. The staff is amazing. The stuff from the entertainment location was so wonderful and friendly!! They came over to us daily and pulled myself and family into multiple games and activities. We had the best week ever!! Thanks again to Ana Ramirez she was so friendly and kind. We’re looking forward to coming back again!!

The activities were fun. I had pool acrobatics with Rogelio and Hansel and they were funny and chill. They have a lot of different fun activities throughout the day. The only thing I wish was for the pool to be open longer than 6pm. I had a great time overall

The resort was very nice and exceptionally clean. The food was good with a lot of variety. My only requests would be that the restaurants allow gentlemen to wear dress shorts compare to long pants. The weather is hot and with no air flowing it was very uncomfortable for them. Also when we were at the cabana the bar keepers didn’t give us the same respect as to the ones that were able to speak the language when at the bar. I would still plan on returning, since there are more positives than negatives. I would like to give a shout out to the sports bar and the crew there. Always smiling and very enjoyable to be around. Thank you

Me and my family went to this hotel and it was really beautiful. The view on the beach was amazing. Also their services are really good, we games by the beach and josemarya was really friendly! The food is great and is well cooked, should put ingredients for the allergic individuals. The waitress Jennifer at the Steakhouse restaurant was very sweet. Overall, really good place; would recommend to a friend!

The rooms are clean, spacious & cool. The property is huge there is a bunch of walking. The access to the beach is super convenient ...we road on the banana boat, that was fun...the food isn't that great... although we also had access to the adults only side & the food there was way better.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean. The service was on par.however, the food was not so good.they can definitely do better in this category. The sports bar you could not get anything g to eat, , they should offer a 4 finger food menu for the guest. One other weird thing was the steak restaurant was playing Christmas music (no bueno). The hotel should stick with some soft upbeat traditional Dominican music.the nightly shows are back and exciting. The spa was amazing the treatment and the facility was on point. I hope to be back again. Thank you Dominican Republuc ❤️

My husband and I loved this resort. We stayed in the Adults only part of the resort but we still had access to the whole resort. We really enjoyed how friendly the staff was. Shout out to Edwin and Laura in the buffet, they were so fast and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The beach was beautiful. (There is seaweed but they try to clean it up and it didn't prevent us from swimming.) The restaurants were delicious. I would definitely stay here again. Beautiful resort.

FOOD POISONING! Stayed here for 10 days (unfortunately). My boyfriend and I both got seriously ill with horrific food poisoning. Vomiting and diarrhea for three days couldn’t move with the pain in our stomach. Never experienced sickness like this. Be very careful with what you eat here. We reported it and they literally do not care. Never received my refund of over $800. Booked the holiday with my debit card a few months ago. Lost this card and closed this bank account as I was leaving the US to return home. Reception said they can’t refund the money to any other account or card. No other form of refund? Spent two days (after being violently ill) going back and forth to reception trying to rectify the situation. Kept telling me to call the bank that it’s the banks problem. So I called the bank three times. The bank explained every time it is impossible to refund money to a CLOSED account which I already knew but did it anyway. I expressed this to reception repeatedly. Didn’t listen and didn’t care. So basically robbed of over $800 and made violently sick by this place. Disgusting place. STAY AWAY.

Just stayed for 13 days and really wish the website stated that ALL of the pools close at 6pm and that the kids club is closed, the adults bar/ club is closed and no live entertainment. Only thing really for the kids was the arcade which if you want to entertain them will cost you, tokens cost about a dollar each, so get ready to drop some dough! But the workers are amazing, the rooms are nice and the food is so so, typical all inclusive resort stuff. Next trip we will unfortunately find another one that caters more to kids which doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Excellent all around! Big resort. Lots of activities to stay occupied throughout the day. The beach is clean and staff is very friendly. Pools are big. The food is excellent and delicious. You will not be disappointed. Fun for the whole family. The only issue is that there isn't enough time to do everything. You need at least 7 days to take advantage of everything. Highly recommend this resort. The best way to enjoy Punta Cana 🙂

My girlfriend and I had one of the best times of lives here! The staff was great, food was delicious and the casino is a great place to bet on red at roulette. The view from our suite was amazing and we meet lovely new friends there. The small bar next to the suites with the pool is a great place to turn it up. We will miss you, be back soon. I am not sure what the family club is, but our overall experience at Barcelo Bavarro Palace resort was excellent. The buffet restaurant served 3 meals every day with just about any type of food you could want. You grab a plate and go through fast lines or grab what you want from assortment of foods layed out cafeteria style. There were 8 restaurants on campus that needed reservations ahead of time for nightly meals with a little more formal wear. And a golf course. And a train to take us from place to place, which we did not use, preferring to walk instead.

  • 3/5 gianelpibe 2 years ago on Google
It's ok, food was not the best buffet was ok, but maybe DR is not for good food... Same with the restaurants they were ok, nothing spectacular for the amount of money the resort cost you would think it will be premium food (but is not lol)... Nice view of beach, nice touch on having a hot tub in every room but our jets didn't work and it was not hot water... Drinks were terrible! They use some kind of syrup that makes drinks taste bad...took me over 30 mins to get checked in 🙄🙄, overall it was ok, I think they can do better as far as their drinks/food selection, oh shower didn't have a full door lol 😂

Amazing and all around gorgeous resort, the views are spectacular, the rooms are beyond clean, the amenities are unbeatable, and they go above and beyond to make your trip as relaxing as possible. The friendliest and most hard working staff I have ever experienced.

  • 3/5 Margaret B. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms were nice, we stayed in a suit that had an upstairs for the kids. All the pools were nice and clean, beach was beautiful but no waitress/waiter service out on the beach. The biggest downfall was the food, the buffet was blah, just like cafeteria food and you can’t order mixed drinks there, just wine & beer. And the restaurants were not very good, we had a decent meal at the Japanese hibachi one night but unfortunately there was no other reservations available for the rest of our stay. The resort was huge and although they have a train to transport you, the train ride can be longggg & slow. Casino was fun & the bar there made some great drinks and had a piano player which was nice! I’d give it a 3.5 if you could do half stars but I don’t think I’d go back. We had a good trip but I have to believe there are better, nicer resorts out there.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and would give it like a 3.5 rating. The hotel could have been one of the best I have ever stayed at, but a few things really disappointed me. First let me talk about the good things. The hotel has all the amenities you could ask for. From golf courses to soccer fields, spas to bowling alleys. The hotel is super well-kept and very comfortable to stay in. Also, instead of room keys you use bracelets that act as your room key. This is very convenient because you can’t lose your room key and its very comfortable. If you forget anything, you can most likely find in the many stores they have. The have a lot of activities you can do (for ex. Zumba, kayaking, wind surfing etc.). The food is excellent and very good and they have a wide range of foods in the buffet and a few restaurants. The thing that disappointed me the most was the service. I get at times the hotel was very busy, but a lot of times it was just that the waiters/staff didn’t really care. At the buffet, most of the times the waiters would forget to bring water/cutlery to the table, and we would always have to ask like 3 times. Even when we were checking in to the hotel the staff was not very kind and enthusiastic. Another incident was I was waiting to book a reservation for a restaurant (first of all you have to book a reservation in person, not over the phone) for an hour and then they said there was no more reservations available. I was really let down there. All in all, if you care more about the amenities more than the service, you should definitely look into going here, but if not I’m sure there are probably plenty of better options you can go to.

This is the worst all-inclusive resort ever. The customer service and staff are horrendous. Not only do they charge you randomly for different things (a golf cart ride to the front of the hotel, etc.) but they treat you worse if you are a non-Spanish speaker. The buffet food is disgusting and there is no way to reserve any of the other restaurants. I recommend that nobody ever comes here for any resort stay and go literally anywhere else.

We have been to Barcelo resorts for 16 of the last 19 years and have never been disappointed. The beaches are immaculate and not overcrowded. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is exemplary! The food is delicious, no matter if you eat at a restaurant, buffet or beach pizza place. Everything is clean and comfortable, and the staff and other guests are friendly and courteous. I cannot say enough good things about these resorts!

This is an excellent vacation destination and good value. The facilities are great, lots of activities and excursions to choose from. The staff are very nice (everyone of them)! The resort has everything!! As an all inclusive it really fulfill many boxes. Plenty of options to eat everyday, you need to make reservations tho. Keep in mind buffet has Latin American food, and it’s cooked different but they are plenty options for everyone to eat. Bar was good, hotel is huge you can move to the other side and enjoy the sane benefits

There's no service on the beach or around the pools. A few stand outs at the buffet. We stayed in building 4 top floor with a partial ocean view. Would I return YES. For the price it's fine. Lots to do there if you want casino, club, kids area, shows and plenty of stores to shop at. Theres a water park and golf course, depending upon your upgrade you'll get in free or get a day pass for a fee. The grounds are clean and all the workers go out of their way to make sure that your happy. The beach was a hit or miss with the seaweed. No umbrellas or huts on the beach. They were destroyed by hurricane a few weeks before. Maybe management will correct that. A vacation should be a good time, it's what you make of it. A little goes a long way with most of the staff that work there and I'll look for them on our next vacation there. 😀

I was going around walking at the pool area and then I walked into the activity area. The amount of activities they had here was amazing. Cheap water activities and fun beach games. A worker named Yandry Contreras helped me sign up for a fun game of darts, mini golf, and beach horseshoe games. I am still on my second day and I am having a blast here. Drinks are good and food is great. Hopefully I am going to have fun for the rest of my trip but I bet you I am. Come here and have fun!

Our stay has been good so far. The staff that manages the daily activities by the pool/beach are great! Yesica assisted us by the poolside and provided us with the daily pool/Beach activities. She was very friendly and pleasant. Sadly to report so far, she has been the only staff member who was engaging and friendly. However, the food service is not that great. The lack of attentiveness is surprising. There were issues with our room, which were resolved timely and the maintenance personnel addressed all of our needs.

Please don't listen to the negative reviews, this resort is awesome! My husband and just got back and we didn't want to leave. We stayed for 5 days 4 nights. For the price we paid, a little over 2k, it was exceptional it exceeded our expectations. For those complaining about the food and staff, not sure which resort they stayed at but it wasn't this one. The food was great, make sure and book your restaurants the day you arrive for the remainder of your stay. Our favorites was the Español and Italian, least favorite was the seafood Coral. The buffet was very good too, something for everyone. If you want high end luxury quality, then you need to go to one of those kinds of resorts and pay for that. The staff here was so kind and attentive. The grounds were gorgeous, drinks was delicious the beach and pool were great too. We recommend the spa, it was awesome and very relaxing. If you have time, we also recommend a party boat cruise outside of the resort, it was our favorite activity. We didn't get to do any water activity at the resort because it was really windy the days we were there. All in all great stay and we would absolutely visit again.

Beautiful ocean view and the beaches are gorgeous; however, when you are booking, PLEASE pay attention to which room you will be staying at. Your room may be all the way by the golf course, so you will have to take the trolley daily just to get to the beach/pool area. Unless you pay for a premium room, all of the rooms have virtually no private bathrooms— everything is open, where anyone in your room can see. The shower doesn’t have any doors, but the toilet does. Only the premium rooms have (2) private bathrooms. In contrast to the premium rooms, everything is comparatively less updated. The rooms have hot tubs, but they’re not always clean. The staff wasn’t too bad, but some were definitely nicer than others. They know enough English to get by, at least by their job requirement.

  • 5/5 Steven O. 10 months ago on Google
Beautiful LARGE resort with friendly staff. Rooms were good, but a touch dated. Food was decent, not outstanding. Throughout certain areas of resort, there is a waft of sewage water(not God awful, but definitely noticeable). The bars and pools were outstanding. This is probably one of the nicest beaches I've ever been on. Check in/Check out was a bit painful. Not a ton to do at night, although they do try with a 24 sports bar, small casino, and nightclub (open 11pm-3am) DO NOT DRINK TAP WATER OUT OF SINK OR SHOWER. Bottled water is provided in room for brushing teeth, etc. You CAN order bar drinks with ice, as they are made with purified water. Trust me, I would have gotten sick...lol. The bottom line is this place was not perfect...BUT VERY VERY GOOD! I would go back(hopefully soon) in a heartbeat. I'd give it an 8/10.

The hotel is very nice, the pool is a good size. The evening shows are for the whole family. Virginia at the buffet juice station was amazing!! The quality of the food and the service is Bad, very bad. We went to dinner at the Mexican restaurant and the food was very bad and the service was worse, including the restaurant manager who was rude. The services were great; staff were polite and friendly. The concerns I had on the first day was corrected immediately. They have quite a few peaceful lounging areas. However, they need to provide higher seating arraignments in some of those areas and higher beach chairs to accommodate those who have hip and knee replacements. The lounge area and beach chairs are too low to the ground. In each lobby area, it would be good if they provided the guest with Refreshing Water (water, lemon, lime, peppermint leaves, cucumber, etc.). Overall, I had a wonderful time and will recommend to others.

  • 1/5 Jina M. 8 months ago on Google
The pros: Location is great! The beach is breathtakingly beautiful and the grounds and pools are well kept. The cons: The service is either very poor or non existent! The quality of the food is questionable at most places and some tastes like it is old and about to go bad. After waiting over an hour at the lobby to check in we headed to the Sports Bar which was the only place open with food at this time. The staff is dismissive and avoids making eye contact with you. After contacting one of them to get some utensils, she came to the table and handled me 5 sets of knives and forks so I could place them myself and quickly walked out. Impossible to get someone else’s attention to get some water. Next day for breakfast, after a very long walk since everything is far, we landed at the buffet. Again, no utensils at the table and after we were able to get some the lady gave us coffee and it was impossible to find someone to give us sugar or more milk. We had to take it from the table next to us. Both at the Sports Bar and the buffet some of the meat we encountered was not fully cooked so I avoided eating meat for the rest of the trip out of fear of getting sick as some of my travel mates. The rooms lack privacy and are full of mosquitoes. For the money you pay here you will have a great experience at another resort. We will not be going back!

The staff here are so welcoming, this resort is HUGE so prepare yourself for the walking! Many restaurants on the property all kinds of nationality choices. I had the pleasure of staying at the Barceló Bávaro Resort in June, and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire trip. The resort itself is a tropical paradise, nestled along the stunning Bávaro Beach. The crystal-clear waters and soft, white sands provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and unwinding. It's truly a beach lover's dream. You can still see the see weed that adds beauty and perfect temperature. The accommodations at Barceló Bávaro were not only comfortable but also beautifully designed. My family room was spacious master suite and separate bedroom for kids, well-appointed, and kept impeccably clean throughout my stay. I appreciated the attention to detail and the thoughtful amenities provided. Although the jetted tub in the balcony didn't work. One of the standout aspects of this resort is the food. The dining options are diverse and cater to a variety of tastes. From international cuisine to local Dominican specialties, each meal was not great culinary adventure. We tried Coral seafood was okay, went to Mexican twice was served stale food , sushi and buffet. If you are foodie like me, might be disappoint in all inclusive restaurants. The resort's entertainment and activities were okay. Whether it was water sports, golf, or simply lounging by one of the many pools, there was always something fun to do. The evening entertainment shows were a great way to cap off each day, offering a mix of music, dance, and local culture. What truly sets Barceló Bávaro apart, though, is the staff. The level of service and genuine friendliness of the team depended on the staff who you got, sometime it was outstanding other time not so good. Hotel concierge has quoted high prices arranging an excursion and they are cheaper option with private individual down stairs to all the way on the right side of the entrance, providing recommendations, or simply offering a warm smile, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident at every turn. In conclusion, my stay at Barceló Bávaro Punta Cana Resort was nothing short of fantastic. It's a destination that combines natural beauty, luxurious accommodations. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or simply a tranquil retreat, this resort has something for everyone.

The pool has enough space so that you don’t feel overwhelmed and the multiple options of food is lovely. I lost a lot of sandals and they had it recovered even after a couple of days. Everyone is super helpful and I can’t complain. What a blessing and god bless everyone who works here.

Gorgeous beach. Property is clean and well maintained. Staff almost only speaks/understands Spanish. Food in buffet is the same every day. Avoid sushi from the Japanese restaurant. Worst experience is with one bartender in the Carey lobby bar who’s there during day time. He simply either ignores my request or makes sure he puts least effort in making my drinks. I ordered drinks from him 4-5 times and all I asked for was not to make my drink too sweet. His solution to my request is putting half glass of ice. I can’t quite figure out if he’s not trained properly or he’s not interested in what he’s doing. Nevertheless, the management team is irresponsible for putting this person in a position that faces guests directly.

Had a great time. Sport Bar night staff was a lot of fun. Juan did a great job by the pool. Need a few more tables by the main pool bar. People should not be able to put towels on chairs to save them at that bar. Hours go by and nobody can use them.
