    Second time at Catalonia Royal. My first experience was a good one compared to this visit. The amenities of the rooms we stayed in need improvement. The air conditioner only worked in 1 room out of 3 rooms booked. Multiple times we told reception about the problems. Changed rooms and still did not work. We stayed in the Privileged Deluxe Junior Suites. The employees were always nice and very helpful. On the other hotel the family side, The experience was not the same. They were very rude and made my pregnant sister in law wait about 1/2 an hour for a glass of water in the pool bar. People that were there told the person working the bar to provide service to her and still that did not happen. At the end my sister in law left the pool. The treatment was definitely different on this side of the hotel. Very rude and honestly not worth visiting. Please do work a little on your rooms in order to keep tourists happy. Thanks

    My girlfriend and I stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every part of it. The staff was so friendly and made our stay exceptional! They were always smiling and greeting you. We especially liked the Team at the Beach bar of the privilege area. I don’t remember her exact name but I think it was Francisca, she was so lovely and after a few days she already knew our favorite drink and our exact order by heart. Another guy who made our stay perfect was Yohannan, always a big smile on his face and asking if we’d need anything. He’s always motivated and thought us new typical Dominican words which made us feel like learning something about their country and culture. We will miss seeing him around once being back home!! We always tried speaking a little Spanish which was highly appreciated and they always made us happy in exchange. All in all, great hotel! We especially liked the breakfast right at the beach, at which also the staff contributed to our lovely experience as they were all in a good mood and we connected with them as soon as we at least tried to have a little conversation in Spanish! We’ll be back!!!

    The hotel style is beautiful since it’s kinda vintage also most of the staff are kind, gentle. However it has some areas of opportunities: -Rooms: Are too vintage since there is not plugs close of the bed only a few, when we arrived, the AC was having trouble, kinda hot so we had to contact the maintenance in order to fix it at the end was just “cool” The little refrigerator never got cold only “fresh” We took some soda to drink it on our way to the airport and we realized it were expired! Around 5 days ago! On a moment the power went off! Room service staff are so mean! There’s not a variety of food/dishes even on the restaurants same with the drinks most of them are for the “exclusive guests” but I have to mention I did pay for privileged to get those exclusive dishes and drinks but guess what? Only access to the other hotel but actually(since there’s not a control on the “border”) however could go the family one. One of the jacuzzi around the spa wasn’t doing too much bubbles when it supposed to be. The family resort is close which is good however there’s not a control of the people from that hotel since sometimes we saw children with his/her mother or father walking of the pool that is close of the pool. Anyway, I think they have to organize more! Does not worthy at all! A thousand buck to the trash! Totally dissatisfied and disappointed!

    I'm a guest here. The whole thing is a disaster. Dangerous, not safe, full of scams. The beach is dirty and not good, murky water, full of algae and disgusting. they were out of towels too. When I went to collect a towel with the card they gave me, a person tried to walk me to the back in a sketchy location claiming he got a towel hidden for me. And another guy was acting like he got a disability trying to touch me to give him money. The restaurant promise is a scam, they make you jump through hoops to get a dinner reservation, and skimp on giving you a reservation. You will most likely not be able to eat at the restaurants.so keep that in mind when booking. Pay extra and take a nicer place that won't be stingy. The lower price comes with lower service and aminities. The buffet is bad. The manager also said I'm allowed only one meal in two days, while in fine print on the booking page it says 4 meals. Also hundreds of scams and people running schemes around the hotel. And aggressive sales people trying to sell you stuff aggressively All the activities are hard and difficult/stressful to access especially for a person who just arrived and trying to relax and have fun They claim to Have a hot tub on the booking page, then they directed me to a normal pool with seats. THIS IS NOT A HOT TUB

    I wouldn’t call this a 5-star resort, but it is very nice minus a few flaws. The front staff and restaurant/bar tenders are absolutely amazing. They kept referring to us as their family, gave us larger sized cocktails and even taught us some Spanish words. They were patient and helpful which made us feel comfortable. I kept somehow deactivating the room key and the front staff was very friendly, patient and helped right away! The resort is fairly quiet and not too crowded which I loved, at least when I went (May 20-27). The pool is very big and clean, never had an issue with finding a chair or towels. There is a-lot of lounge chairs and places to sit around the resort, which made it very nice and relaxing. The food was absolutely amazing. So many comments say otherwise, but wow, I really enjoyed the buffet food and all four restaurants. I think the Italian one was my favourite! I disliked that there was little to no entertainment during the day though. Not much activities from the staff during the day, unless you were a child. Barely any music playing around the pool, guests brought speakers and that was helpful. The shows at night were just okay, the magic one was very cool though. The rooms also need a bit of a make-over. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Privilege Deluxe Junior Suite and it was nothing special. Don’t really know what the difference was between privilege and non privileged, because there really was nothing extra. I kept asking for a hair dryer, and never got one, even though each room was supposed to have one. One of the two bathroom sinks was clogged and got fixed the very last day. The showers only had extremely HOT water, which was torture, especially with a sun burn. The cleaners were also terrible, worst cleaning service ever. They randomly knocked on the doors, and would come in unexpectedly. They started cleaning our room at 4:30pm every day which was very inconvenient. We just wanted fresh towels to shower and the cleaners kept walking away because not one of them spoke English. Aside from the cleaners, room flaws and lack of entertainment, I did enjoy my stay. Very pretty resort, and the beach was beautiful. A-lot of palm trees and nature which I really enjoyed!

    It was Great, the hotel is very well keep, so comfortable. The service was exceptional, everybody was sweet with a happy face all the time. The Food was delicious and so much variety. Specialty restaurant was delicious too. Pool is not so big but very clean. Love the Coffee shop which is include. Shows at night was good and the live music at the lobby bar was spectacular. The only thing that is was not good personally is the beach, has rock, very deep in the middle and not clean

    Rooms are cleaned but need an upgrade. The Privilege Rooms are better and bigger. Suggestion is that you do your A la Carte reservations the day you arrived. Limited seating. Buffets are good. The facility is very nice and the staff is pleasant. There's a shortage because it takes too long for operator and front desk to answer phone. I had a group of 22.

    This place is amazing. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. I've been here for 2 days so far. They just dropped the ball on a small birthday surprise I asked to have for my girlfriend but they didn't do what promised. Eventing else had been amazing. The food is great here. The pools are clean (Catalonia Royal, Adults only) Be mindful that not all restaurants or activities are available every day. They do have a specific schedule and you must have a reservation for all except the buffet.

    The resort is nice. The food was good, and there are plenty of places to take stunning pictures. The first day there, they take you to a sales pitch to buy membership. It's a nice trip to see the resort, but be careful about becoming a member. Make sure you take sunscreen as they sell them for 32$ US and take plenty of bug spray and "afterbite."" There are bedbugs that management seems to want to pretend do not exist or are surprised to learn about. When notifed of the same, they act as if this a very unusual occurrence. However, if you read other reviews, that problem seems to be persistent. Some even posted pictures of their legs, and I experienced similar bites. Our room was eventually changed, but they were fully booked, and we had to sleep in our room the first night. My daughter, being the smarter one, slept on the sofa that entire trip and was not bit. We had a good time, but that was due to the excursions we took every day. If you are going to pay $1,000s of dollars, the lest they can do is irradiacate the bed bug problem.

    This all inclusive resort is very nice. The staff is very friendly. The covid rules are followed by all staff and enforced. The food is not fine dining, but it tastes OK and there is a lot of choice. The entertainment team is awesome. The weekend shows are very professional and fun to attend. Would go back. Beach: amazing Bars: great food: OK Entertainment: amazing staff: great.

    Completely not a good experience starting from the reception. I explained to the reception guy that we were there for our anniversary and he could do was to give us a room that has no water running to flush or shower. Mosquitoes competing with our sleep and towel given to us are very old. By the this is all inclusive resort. I can't still believe that we wasted money to spend our anniversary at this resort.

    Made amazing friends with not only people staying at the resort but also the staff. Cannot fault the resort in any way. It is tropical paradise. From the maids, gardeners, chefs, bar staff, restaurant staff, general staff are all amazing. The resort is beautiful and huge. You are at one with nature here with all its effortless beauty. I’m in peace paradise and currently have a week left of my vacation and do not want to leave. Truly beautiful stay and would love to come back!!

    Pure bar is the best place to be at the resort. Reynaldo and the rest of the crew offer phenomenal service, they go above and beyond. They are the most heartwarming people to meet and treat you like family. I highly recommend spending the extra money $$$ for the privileged package to get the best service possible. The rest of the resort is very clean and everyone is very helpful. The only complaint is not getting enough time here. I would definitely come back!!!!!

    This hotel is beautiful but their CUSTOMER SERVICE is terrible! We did not have a good experience at this hotel. Everything from checking in until we checked out. We reserved our room well in advance. When we got to the hotel, they made us wait and didn’t get a room until like 0700 PM, and on top of that, we had a kid to take care of. Secondly, there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom, one of the sinks was clogged and the other one only had hot water. We have gone to see a customer service representative and they advise us that they would go and fix it, and only the clogged sink was fixed. Nothing was done until we checked out. When it was time to take a shower, there was no cold water. It was hot water only. Hot water can burn the skin, and no one understood or took our advice seriously. This was really hard to navigate with a young child. The next major issue was the food. The food was nasty, and we could barely eat it. I understand it is an all-inclusive but better-quality food could have been served. The working crew working at the front desk told us lies, so we could be out of their faces. We asked to make reservations at certain restaurants. All the responses we got were that all the restaurants were full. We decided to take a walk we counted about 20 empty tables. How should a customer take that into consideration? They are basically telling me not to come back. At checkout, the line was ridiculously long, with no one to help especially with a child. No help with the suitcases, because our rooms were too close. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone based on how your guests are treated.

    We stayed for our second time at the Royal Bavaro from April 23-April 30, 2022. The resort is one of our favorites. We rented the Duplex Villa with pool. Our adult daughters joined us this trip. We never had to go to any of the other pools - our pool was plenty big for 4 floats. Tanning chairs and beds, table and chairs, alcohol, etc. all within the confines of our "temporary home." All services were great, the food quite good, cute shows and entertainment. The beach had a bit of seaweed, but a small walk out into the water provided crystal clear waters. The premises are absolutely beautiful. Our only problem was that upon arrival a few things needed repair, but these issues were completely rectified. We spent some quality time with our daughters and will enjoy our memories for years to come.

    Having my very first vacation, I for one was hesitant about staying a full-week at a resort. From the moment I got there I was welcomed with great service and friendly faces. From checking in to checking out I couldn't say I had a bad time. The hotel room was cleaned daily if you wished with your bar fridge stocked to your desire. Wifi and refreshing AC at your disposal. The lobby bar was wonderful , tons of comfortable seats and places to lounge about while sipping on some delightful beverages, the bartenders were some of the nicest people and were all smiles. The Beach was beautiful, with a full-on delicious crepe bar that also doubled as a place to obtain alcoholic drinks. Another full on bar for alcohol was also located more closer to the exclusive side of the beach which had a wider range of drinks served. A full on natural fruit juice bar was also located on the beach which served multiple non-alcoholic drinks to satisfy anyone. Food was buffet style aside from select restaurants you could attend. While some of the buffet food was less to be desired, they had select food that could be prepared for you right then and there and it was my go to for the duration of my stay. Deserts and fruit were delicious! Full on salad bar and area to make delicious sandwiches at your disposal. Restaurants had their own unique style from a Steak house to Mediterranean, Italian or Japanese cuisine. All were delicious, while my only quarrel being that the steak house definitely didn't know how to properly cook a medium rare steak. The Japanese cuisine was definitely my favorite amongst the 4, but all 4 were relatively on par with quality, tastiness and service. The Pool was fantastic with a swim-up bar as well, also a smaller pool for families with children. They had a pizza hut nearby which served some of the best pizza I have ever had. They hosted several entertainment shows throughout each day of the week from karaoke to a magic show, while some of the shows may not be entertaining to all adults, there is something to enjoy for all ages. Multiple shops that you can buy clothing, accessories and/or souvenirs from, as well as any necessities such as sunscreen. A small coffee shop that would appeal to all coffee goers. The only less than desirable thing I can think of is the Casino itself, while hosting a plethora of slot machines, and a roulette table, there is a lot left to desired but still an enjoyable time for someone looking to blow a few bucks. I am already looking forward to coming back here again!

    Beautiful landscaping, beach, weather, and facilities. Great drinks and most staff was friendly and helpful. Food was mediocre and specialty restaurants disappointing. Lots of issues with rooms and facilities. Travelled with a large group and everyone experienced issues with their rooms (air conditioning broken, fridge didn't work, bathroom door didn't close, ants, missing amenities, poor water temperature and pressure, table broken). At one point they lost water usage for the whole resort for a couple of hours. Check in was extremely slow. Bedspread had stains, missing chair cushions, and hammock was dirty. In general resort is nice to look at but lacks substance.

    This place is terrible. The rooms are dated and lack decent air conditioning. Room wasn't hot, however it could be much colder to where you should feel the air comfortably. We had an issue with the toilet but the maintenance guy came really quick. Beds are hard but the room is always cleaned by the housekeeping. The food here is terrible too and not enough options for meals. Room service took 2 hours and they still got my order totally wrong after calling twice and repeating it when I called. Also, no ice machine. You have to call room service for ice. No real top shelf liquor options. More and better liquor and restaurant options on the family side which is baffling to me as to why not on the adult side.

    Hi, we were on our honeymoon in this hotel . We were really disappointed, the personnel is really mean, they don’t tell you informations about the hotel, the restaurants or any service . The room was really not clean, there was some leak in the bathtub and in the toilet , their only answer was : sorry we can’t do anything about it . Before we arrive they told us that there was room service 24h but in reality it only works from 7am to 10pm and when you ask them for something they don’t want to bring it to your room they tell you to go to the restaurant or the bar so what’s the interest of room service ? Every morning at the breakfast you have to ask 3 or 4 persons before you get what you asked for. The buffet is really poor and even if you come at 8am , it’s almost empty and they “have no more for today”. We are from Europe so we really used to have a great service in 5 stars hotel but clearly they don’t deserve their stars . I absolutely not recommend this hotel .

    Starting with the positives, the hotel boasts exceptional cleanliness, ensuring a pervasive sense of security with abundant security personnel. The Wi-Fi connectivity is commendable, and the bartenders, particularly Hector, offer a delightful experience with their assistance in exploring various specialty drinks. However, there are notable drawbacks. The extensive daily queues for food, lasting 2-3 hours, could be alleviated by adding more space and instant cooking stations. The staff's lack of friendliness, with minimal smiles, contradicts the hospitality expected in the service industry. Beach towels are consistently unavailable, and the repetitive daily menu, especially in the limited seafood options, leaves room for improvement. While an attendant initially provided excellent service, a disappointing turn occurred when a promised special welcome breakfast led to an unexpected meeting pushing an exclusive membership program, consuming two hours of our leisure time. Additionally, reported issues such as a broken balcony swing went unaddressed. Visitors from Canada should be aware of the need for a socket adapter as the room's outlets differ and are inconveniently located. In conclusion, there is a need for enhanced employee training and a focus on guest satisfaction from the management.

    Beautiful and clean, friendly staff, good food. Our son loved the fish in the pools around the lobby and dining hall. We only had a brief overnight stay when Frontier cancelled our flight after a 7-hour delay. They accommodated us on short notice.

    We went in 2019 so not a recent review but I had to tell our amazing experience. We’ve been to 3 different resorts and this one is our favourite, one of the others being a Catalonia property as well. Everything about this place was heavenly. The resort itself is huge so there’s lots to do and many places to go walk and hang out if you don’t want to drink the whole time. The food is the best of any resort buffet we’ve seen. There was even a cheese stand at dinner with like wheels of 8+ different cheese and a guy there cuts it for you. We’ll book this one for our next trip for sure.

    The Resort was great, really, but what made it so special was the staff. Seriously, they were all extra! From remembering our order from the day before, to helping us to learn a little spanish, they were truly the best. Special shout-out to Leslie at the Pure Bar. She has been the best part of our trip! We actually went out of our way to spend time with her at the bar. We’re not normally bar people but Leslie was there so we made sure to go as often as possible. She made me discover a few drinks and even created one just for me according to what she knew I liked. If you go to this Resort, make sure to say hi to Leslie, you wont be disappointed! Plus, the rest of the staff is remarkable, they’ll make sure your stay as pleasant as it can be, enjoy!

    An amazing, relaxing place to stay. The staff were truly amazing, always happy and helpful. My first time there and definitely going back. The buffet for breakfast, dinner and lunch was so good and never the same. I can't praise the resort enough especially the wonderful staff.

    Beautiful resort with great staff! Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Jessica and Carlos at The Beach Bar!!! The beach was a great place to spend the day, as we found the pool area to be too hot/crowded. There is a lot of reef and seaweed, but there are plenty of clear, sandy spots as well. The only complaint we really have are the rooms. The resort may be a 5-star resort, but the room we were in was in worse shape than the rooms in most 3-star resorts I've been to. They are in desperate need of an upgrade.

    I had some kind of fixed up bedroom. Your luggage wheels will be destroyed. As useall never any space to relax at the pool. Think that people get out of their beds at 5am or so the put a towel on the pool beds. Noisy around pool areas. Been here by obligation because my flight got cancelled. So flight company assigned me to this hotel. Also far out from everything.

    Food is terrible, my husband got sick 5 days in a row no towels Front guest is slow and non responsive We took the privilege upgrade with the new rooms but the fridge rusted and not functional, and there was a terrible smell, no one was willing to do anything. Employee can’t afford to smile and even to care. Would definitely not come back to this resort.

    I really enjoyed my stay with my family in this hotel-resort. From my arrival everything was very good. I think the time of arrival has a lot to do with the time you wait in the lobby to check in. I arrived early so it was all very fast. The waiters were always very attentive and smiling. the aerobics in the pool, and all the night shows that the hotel offers, I didn't miss any day, and on the last day I went to the spa-salon for some braids and the attention was wonderful, thank you very much to Emeliana who left me beautiful, and during the time that I was in the salon she was very kind, patient and careful with her work, she knows that I would post a photo if it looked beautiful and I left happy, thank you very much Emeliana!! and to all the waiters, the waiters at the buffet restaurant, especially Mariel and staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. I would definitely come back!”

    I stayed here for one night while the airline worked on a new plane. I'm glad I stayed here for free; otherwise, I would have demanded a refund! ROOMS: Our room was COVERED IN BLACK MOLD & the AC was broken. SERVICE: I was not given a key to my room. Instead, I was instructed to wait outside my room for someone to open it. (This all happened after 3 am). Also, considering the largely unpaved walkways, I could have used an extra hand bringing my four suitcases a 1/4 mile to my room. LOCATION: I believe this USED TO BE a nice place to come. I will not return to this rundown & decrepit excuse for a 'resort.' I recommend reading more reviews before making your vacation reservations and being stuck there for a week or longer.

    As all inclusive resorts go, this wasn't too bad. The grounds and setting were lovely, but the guest rooms are dated. This resort is definitely catered for the Spanish speaking guests with only a handful of staff being able to communicate with limited English. This is perhaps my ignorance for not learning the native language of the country I was visiting though. Food and drinks was reasonable, but some staff appeared ignorant and oblivious to our presence and needs on service. On the flip side, some staff were fantastic and really attentive. Nicole from the cocktail bar and Raynaldo from the pool bar in particular. Had a great stay overall and have no regrets about our choice of resort but was certainly not bowled over by the overall experience. At the end of the day it is all personal perception. We met many people there who had been staying at this place for many years and absolutely love it. Top tip is to take lots of US 1 dollar bills with you and tip each time you use the buffet and bars. We found it extremely difficult to get change at the hotel which is ridiculous given it is very much a tipping culture there.

    Best holiday we've been on, for all inclusive I wasn't expecting the unreal quality of service and food we had. Entertainment was brilliant and in a gorgeous setting, for the size of the complex the whole place was spotless. We came from Ireland so it was 16 hours back and forth but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Really felt like there was no reason to leave with the amount of restaurant options and brilliant service at the bars. Will definitely be back at some stage in our lives

    The hotel is at the end of a long drive through the golf course. Its impressive entrance leads onto an open lobby with water features and seating. The rooms are well equipped and they are kept clean by the staff work work tirelessly each day. There are many bars and snack areas which are well stocked and served by friendly staff. The beach is clean, and never hard to find a sun lounger that's free. Would recommend without hesitation.

    Icelia is very chatty . It's refreshing to see someone so bright and alive with enthusiasm. Likes to interact and very pleasant.the staff are lovely and pleasant. Unfortunately we had to move rooms 5 yes 5 times. Different reasons but way To much noise after 12 midnight. We had to upgrade to the Royal with is brilliant and what we expected at the golf and spa. Never coming back.

    This place is far from a 5 star. We have been on the privileged side where there is room service available 24 hours, which is far from the truth. We ordered it once, and we waited 2hrs for it, and we finally left for a buffet. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day are exactly the same. There are 4 ala carte restaurants, but ONLY one of them (Rodeo Steakhouse) is worth booking. Service here is practically non existing. Only a few employees show any effort to give you any service. Housekeeping is taking your towels and not replacing them with what they took. Not replacing refrigerator with soft drinks and water. We even leave tips for them with notes translated to Spanish and still not doing their jobs. If possible, avoid this place, not worth saving a few dollars when you can have a better experience only a few kilometers (miles) down the road. We have been coming to DR for 12 years (9 times), and this is THE worst experience that we had here in DR ever!

    Never book an activity with people from the hotel. Book rather with booking the prices are much lower and more reasonable. The people of the hotel offer you activities and offer you prices 3 to 4 times more expensive. don't make the mistake of going through them.     We had to stay here because our flight got cancelled. It was a great resort, beautiful pool, however we were on the 3rd floor and no elevators. Big workout getting up there. They have a great selection of shops! Beautiful lagoon layout. I highly recommend the pizzeria till 2am, they serve cans of President.

    Came here twice a while back, beautiful resort. The resort wasn’t as updated as it is now when I visited years back and I had a wonderful experience! So I’m sure it’s even better now! Staff was wonderful! My grandmother was born here and visits friends in dr often. I surprised her with a trip here for a relaxing vacation after her surgery and the resort staff did not disappoint! She had an amazing time! Would def. visit this resort third time!

    The hotel in terms of facilities like pool, gym and strolling areas looks Beautiful, the beach is dreamy however the rooms are disastrous! Full of mould, smelly, damp and destroyed. We tried to stay outside as long as possible because we hated to go back to our room, this is how bad it was
 The staff was always polite and nice, gardeners even offer fresh coconuts from the palm trees! The beach was full of comfy beds and umbrellas, unfortunately we were unlucky with seaweed that ruined the swimming for us.

    The resort was beautiful!!!! Some of the employees were absolutely amazing. My only issue is the food. It's awful. We tried every restaurant on the resort and they were all bad. The need new chefs with better choices and actually season the food. The drinks were ok depending on who made them. The rooms look a tad bit run down and could use some updating. Overall, it wasn't the worst or best.

    Overall a pleasant experience, the beach and the chairs were great and the staff tried to remember us and bring us the drinks we used to order! Not a fan of the buffet but the restaurants had pretty good food! Check in desk could be a bit more informative so that we could know the different things in the resort but overall it was good!

    The grounds are beautiful! The pool is huge and you can walk to the beach. We felt very safe there and really enjoyed ate time! We were a large group of seven women and every waiter and waitress was so helpful and welcoming (particularly Wilson). I see a lot of complaints about the food and honestly it is another country that has different tastes. There are tons of items at the buffet, so you just have to figure out what works for you. My favorite was actually the Japanese restaurant even though I don’t care for sushi. The chicken teriyaki was amazing! *note it is very hard to get change anywhere, I advise to take smaller bills so that you can leave tips. Also if you take the boogie (atv) tour through their excursion company take maybe a bag of Candy or change, water bottles or anything you find helpful as there are a lot of children on the sidelines of the tour who need help. I would definitely love to stay here again! Well worth the price!

    This resort exceeded my expectations with everything. When I got there Kelly made me feel so welcomed and made sure we were happy with our room. The food and drinks were amazing and they did not skimp on alcohol. Natalia was so friendly when I was checking out and I felt so sad that we were leaving. Will definitively come back for our next vacation.

    Worst “5 star” hotel I was in. Food and drinks are horrible, rooms look dated, people selling you extra services while you lay at the beach. Hard to get reservations for the restaurants which have a little better food quality. The sea water in the private beach is full of weed everywhere and has sharp and big stones on the seafloor so that you can’t swim in it. The pool could also get some cleaning, especially at the walls touching the water. The garden is really nice though. We tried to cancel our stay even before the first night but they refused and tried to give us an upgrade to a room that was even worse. My girlfriend got food poisoned the last day. All in all a very underwhelming experience. Can’t recommend this to anyone.

This place is one of the most well known in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure!     My boyfriend and I stayed 11 nights, the resort was beautiful and we were happy with the privileged upgrade (because the pictures we checked before booking were only from privileged rooms, the normal rooms were really poor). Beach bar PĂŒre chill out bar was amazing place with amazing drinks (smoothies + alcohol/non-alcohol drinks). We suggest trying Japanese and steak house restaurants but not the Italian one, we were food poisoned two times after our visits. Overall, it was very nice and relaxing holiday and we would return back.

    The ETC staff especially Felix makes my mom and I have the most enjoyable and stress free stay. Everything is always 100%. The rooms are perfect and super clean. The staff are amazing and always willing to help us with anything. The beach is amazing, the pool area is a lot of fun. The restaurants are all 100% perfect.     A great little adults only resort with on-site restaurants, two pools, and a sandy beach. The rooms are a bit dated on the adult side and it looked like renovations were starting. Air conditioning didn't work in our first room along with our neighbours so we were moved to another building. Staff were wonderful - so patient and helpful.

    I am here for forth time. This place changed a lot. Rooms are very tired and need renovations. Be careful with the concierge service- it is nothing but a try to sell you time share type of stuff which will take at least half day of your vacation. The people around us were super noisy and had parties in their rooms. The front desk didn't pickup phone so we had to just stay an 'enjoy'. It's a smoke area everywhere - forget about clean air. Take a lot of mosquito repellent (a lot!!). Food service is not good as used to be but I have to give admirations to the sweets chef - really good and yummy. In general it didn't worth the 3000$ we gave. Update: there are about a hundred+ people on the beach right now and only one gentleman is smoking a cigar causing a terrible smell on the whole beach. Financially speaking - how much the hotel will lose if ban the smoking? Just need to care about the people to had an answer to that question.

    Loved my first all inclusive experience at this resort! The rooms were nice, the food at the restaurants were good, and the pool was great. I did love that there was an adults only side (which we were in) but were able explore the entire resort if we wanted. Would definitely recommend this place!

    The cleanliness and everything was amazing. The staff was nice, the decor was gorgeous. The margaritas were 10/10. The only complaint I have is that the air conditioners don’t work super well; they only get down to 78 degrees Fahrenheit at night which is super hot for us. We found it hard to sleep due to this temp.

    It was a memorable experience definitely. I highly commend the exceptional service of one of the staff for the romance dinner at the beach, Wilson Gonzalez. He is fun and professional and very kind. The whole set of menu from appetizer to dessert were so delicious. The chef did a great job. I would say this package is worth purchasing when you stay at Catalonia.

    The hotel grounds are beautiful, the rooms are dated and held together by silicon. We had 2 leaks in our room (2421), one on the ceiling that took 2 days to get fixed after several phone calls and one in the bathroom that would flood the bathroom floor daily that never got fixed despite my phone calls. Rubi our house keeper tried her best to keep our bathroom dry. She was very sweet and attentive and would bring us shampoo and hair conditioner any time we asked for some

    Lovely setting, the staff were lovely, especially Marirendy at the restaurant by the pool who always looked after us and was fabulous. We did have a leak from the air con in both of our rooms which was never fixed and the food buffet area was very hot all the time, which wasn’t good for a nice evening meal. Plus by the pool 3 different types of music can be playing at one time, which isn’t needed and is a bit irritating. But other than that great food, lovely staff, great place for the kids, lovely pool and beach setting with plenty to do and see.

    Generally, a nice place. Service is not the best, so you may have a faulty air conditioner (my neighbor had it) or leaking ceiling after rain in my room. The food is about an average. There was always fresh fish, but little chicken, usually deep fried. Beach is nice, but there were too much sargasses (sea weeds). Entertainment was not on professional level. Otherwise, it is an average resort.

    The property is beautiful, the staff is mostly nice, the food is good too. The check in process was easy but I arrived when it wasn’t busy. The room was beautiful, I got the single room, everything worked and the bathtub was amazing. The reservations for the restaurants were easy and could be made three days in advance. It was nice to be able to go to the disco, restaurants and casino next door. The only issue I had was with the male staff members hitting on me constantly. One even tried to kiss me then returned to my room the next night and was banging on my door. Single ladies definitely bring some pepper spray and more just in case.
