Faced with some extremely average food at our resort, we were desperate to go somewhere which would deliver some flavour. Pastrata did not let us down. The guacamole was great, we had a few mains between us to share, all of which were very tasty. Washed down with a couple of really nice margaritas. Well worth the trip!

Food for this price is not satisfying. Nobody speaks English. Looks good, tastes worse.

Absolutely amazing!!! From the lovely waitress constantly with a smile on her face. The owner was really nice and help out select some dishes! We’ve tried over 10 restaurants and I must say this one of the top! The spicy shrimp ceviche 100% if you love spicy. 🥵

Nice restaurant, guacamole was amazing! Staff was really nice, they modified the tacos so they could be vegan. A little bit pricy, but so is every restaurant in Punta Cana.

This mexican restaurant is delicious. Authentic mexican food, i ordered a large quesadilla to share and a guacamole and 3 ppl ate of it. You most definetly gotta try their special margaritas, very tasty and great price. Servers are attentive and kind

Perhaps have been spoiled by American Mexican food but when you see flautas instead of tacos, tiny burrito and mango frozen margarita that tastes like sugar and nothing else for this price, you kinda get a little disappointed.

If you are at one of the resorts nearby, or even staying locally, this is a must dine place. Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing owner especially, that even speaks English fairly well. If I ever came back I could almost live here. Some drinks were kind of strong though. Like the Long Island Ice Tea.

Food is not bad but not great either - my quesadilla was tasty, however the nachos with beef were salty and the meat was hard, which should not happen if prepared the right way. Guacamole was again, salty and lacked lime. Service was friendly but extremely slow. Prices quiet high.

Each dish is made fresh. We loved everything we ordered. Good portions at a good price. The chef is very welcoming too.

The owner greeted us and helped explain a few things about the menu. After we ordered and received our food, he came back and helped explain the best order to eat things, which sauces we should have, and overall helped enjoy our meal. Very delicious authentic Mexican food.

Service was wonderful! We had chicken and Mexican sausage tacos and some coconut shrimp with fries. Shrimp was a little dry but tacos were great. I would say a little pricey for the total meal but not bad overall!

The restaurant has undergone renovations since our last visit. It is nicely equipped, unfortunately the staff hardly speak English and it is a bit difficult. The food wasn't bad, but for my taste, it was topped with too much sauce that overwhelmed my taste buds. It is pitty. Here I would say that sometimes less is more.

This place is amazing... Food, ambience, service and Pastrata himself. He's so kind. We had Pico de Gallo, burrito and pineapple juice. Everything was rich in taste. Good Mexican restaurant. 100% recommended. Don't forget to try spicy sauce.

Came for lunch and ordered enchiladas verdes, nachos and jamaica juice. The food was really good, the only reason why I can't give a 5 star rating is because there were too many staff members around and just a few customers at the time when we came and it resulted in us being consistently watched (from about 10 feet away) by 2-3 people while we ate. One thing if waiters are being attentive and pouring water for you when your glass is empty or giving an extra fork/spoon if needed. Completely another thing if they have nothing to pour for you etc. and are just staring for no reason really while you are trying to have your nice meal in peace. Otherwise, the restaurant was clean, decorated, we got our food pretty quick and it was delicious.

Great food and service. We had La sopa azteca, fajitas con arrachera as well as the sweet burritos for dessert. The owner took time to talk to us which was highly appreciated. Muchas gracias señor Pastrata.

On our last trip to Punta Cana, Pastrata was one of our faves. This time, it was good, but we didnt feel like we needed to make a second trip. The mole enchiladas are very rich tasting, but good.

Dinner at Pastrata was excellent. Everything was fresh and service was great. Highly recommend the fish tacos. If you are ever in the Punta Cana area be sure to visit 😊

I went here on my birthday amazingggg food!! Great vegan options I got the vegan enchiladas and my boyfriend got a steak quesadilla 10/10!! Also we got beans and rice on the side. We didn’t speak spanish and the workers were patience with us which we loved !

Great atmosphere the food is excellent the service is as in to none. The drinks are to notch especially the margaritas and Long Island Ice teas. They are very nice and friendly and exceptional service. If you are here here visiting highly recommend eating here.

Shocking service and the worst Fajitas I ever had. I took a couple of bites, paid and left. Definitely not Authentic Mexican Food. Disappointing.

My husband and I love mexican food and it was very difficult to find such a nice place like Pastrata Mexican Restaurant. There is always good Mexican music in the background, and the staff is always willing to serve you and adjust your order if needed, so feel free to let the restaurant know and they will accommodate you, that's for sure. The waiting time is fair, although if you're planning to visit as a group, I personally recommend you let the restaurant know so that they can make any needed adjustments or reserve a table. Again, we have tried so many restaurants, especially in Punta Cana, and we always come back here. Best guacamole ever! Try "nachos a la pastrata" and you won't regret doing so. Enjoy your dinner!

Good food and nice atmoshpere, vegeterian options available and staff flexible to arrange a vegan dish too, upon request. The only minus is a waiting staff, they are confused, not able to memorize simple orders.

Stopped here for a bite and am very satisfied. Had Flautas with a side of pico de gallo. Absolutely phenomenal. The green sauce is so delicious. Friendly staff, didn't have to wait long. Recommended! Edit: Came back and got more food. Mixed ceviche is top notch. Nachos are tasty. We crushed those and forgot to take a photo. The other photo is smothered enchiladas with that same tasty green sauce.

Food, drinks, and music were wonderful. I highly recommend the passion fruit frozen margarita. The jalapeño margarita was delicious but be warned it is SPICY. We tried the fajitas, tacos and guacamole, all great. Service was good, staff and owner are all very friendly. Covid protocols are normal but felt very good about how tables were not seated one on top of the other. Looking forward to going back when they have live music.

We ate here twice over the course of our 2 week vacation. The best Mexican food we've ever had! Its authentic. The service was a bit slow our first visit and our waitress wasn't very friendly but the food made up for it. The 2nd time apparently employees didn't show up for their shift so the owner was helping serve and clean the tables. We was so nice and it was very busy. I would definitely go back. Strongly recommended. Also the prices are very reasonable. Thank you!

I had the fried chicken enchiladas and a spicy skinny margarita, it was amazing! The service is lovely and has a huge outdoor patio with lovely music and wonderful staff. I will return!

I love this place. I come here everytime I am in Punta Cana. The owner always greets the guest. Food is always amazing and made to order, even the nacho tortillas. Try this place if you're in town. You will not be disappointed at all.

The food was excellent. The price and service was better compared to other restaurants around the area. If you are Mexican or American I really would recommend this place. As a daughter of Mexican parents, this is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the Punta Cana/Bavaro area! My husband and I always make it a point to come here every time we are in the DR. It is very special to us as this is where we came bf/gf, he proposed matrimony, and we had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. We have invited countless people to dine with us at this restaurant because it is so good and everyone leaves wanting to go back! The owner is super nice and goes out of his way to greet and make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommended!!!

The owner moved here from Mexico City 12 years ago and this restaurant reminds me of Mexico City. The food is as good as those taquerias in Mexico City, especially the chilaquiles- amazing. The owner offered us with homemade spicy sauce and love the cocktails and negra modelo.
