Runners adventure are an amazing tour provider! They picked us up on time, while on the bus we had a guide Angel (his the best!!) who gave us Information about Dominica. This was refreshing as other excursions we have been on just throw you on a bus, go do what you paid for and throw you off the bus back at the hotel. The tour itself is fantastic, they take you through a typical Dominica house while explaining the culture and you meet the family who live there. They then provide a demonstration how Coco & Coffee beans are harvested. After we walked and interacted with the monkeys, it was a pleasure to see that they are so well looked after and appeared very happy to be there. (Not like the monkeys on leads at the beaches) They give plenty of photos opportunities, while also taking some for you (price is very good). They climb all over you and allow you to touch them (please do not expect to grab, they are wild animals after all). Overall the whole experience was spectacular, highly recommended to all. Thank you Runners! Also thank you to our guide Angel and Driver Jr, they really give you the full experience.

This place is amazing if you are not afraid of small soft and fluffy monkeys. They're adorable little creatures that come on you and you feed them out of your hands. We took our baby (20 month old) and 10 year old girl and the monkeys sat on their heads and shoulders. The kids were so happy and no one got into any incident. It's like playing with kittens and you have to know that they can bite a little and have claws to defend if you harm them. There is also a farm visit in the pack where you learn about chocolate and coffee farming. For transportation make sure you ask for the van with windows and not the safari truck because it's a bit of a longer drive in the sun, dust and lots of smoke. It's a 2-3 hour drive and with babies they need to be able to sleep so make sure you have what you need. At the hotel they tell you it's a 1 hour drive but not mentioning the bus is picking up lazy tourists from all the hotels and ohh boy they're not on time from the start. From the view of a 10 year old girl: "on the road, watch outside and see how it is way different from your home. I was scared at first about the monkeys, but they feel like a massage. They are so cute! But make sure not to hug them! "

Fun place to visit. Really cool that you can interact with them so closely. THe Guide will feed them. Put fruit on your head. They will be all over you. Worth a visit

The trip to the Monkeyland is a must. Not only because of the monkeys, but because of the journey at all. For us were a pleasure to be with Guide Angel and driver Adolfo. Angel was very friendly and with great sense of humour. I asked if we would stop in the village we have passed through but unfortunately it was not in the program. We bought some Mamajuana and coffee which actually was far more expensive than the shop in the hotel. The trip with the bus was around 1 hour from Bahia Principe.

Absolutely must do this excursion. Our tour guide Gregory was the best in the bussiness. Fluently spoke 5 languages. He was funny and engaging. Highly recommended him as a tour guide. We learned about coffee and coca production and got to sample some of each. Then the monkey. My god the monkeys. So awesome. When I went I thought there would be a few little monkeys and maybe I'd be lucky to have one sit on me. But these monkey are everywhere and come crawling all over you. So cute. Such a good addition to our vacation. 5 star highly recommend everyone do this. ( Ps we didn't do the zipline just the monkeyland tour) book through their website to save money.

Had the most amazing time here!! From the Guide on the bus there, Edy who was so nice and shared some really cool and interesting info about the Dominican and its people and culture...and the guides at the park, Nacho and the woman that I can't remember her name (sorry :( ) who were so fun, informative, funny, and so nice! They took us to a real Dominican home where we saw coffee and cacao beans being roasted and things, and got to sample them! Yummy!!! Then the gentlemen who took us in to see the Squirrel monkeys...they made the experience so much fun!! The monkeys are so sweet and cute!!! Was an experience I will not soon forget! I reccomend 100% taking the time for this excursion! You will NOT regret it!!!

My husband, daughter and I had a blast at this 1/2 day excursion! Gary our tour guide was very enjoyable and charming, spoke English very well, and shared very interesting facts and history about the area. The tour also gave a very educational presentation on coffee and cocoa, from plant to consumption. We got to watch the process and have a sample of each! transportation was also provided! Our family highly recommends this tour!

Eeek! I can't even describe the excitement and fun I had here! The monkeys are so cute and sweet. They don't steal your stuff and aren't aggressive. Young boy was our guide and he was a hoot! You have to do this! So much fun!

The monkeys were so cool! 87 monkeys in all! You will get some very funny pictures with them! The view is beautiful! The food is ok. The buggies were fun driving to that beautiful river! The staff were very friendly! It's definitely a must-see! I mean, how often do you get to have all these monkeys walking all over you and your family! Take a tour bus over to the place from resort. You have to drive through some not so good areas to get to location.

Loved, loved, loved it!! We enjoyed the entire experience...all the stuff before the monkeys and the monkeys!! We loved learning about cocoa and the culture. We especially loved the tour guides and their happy attitudes. And of course, the monkeys were adorable and seemed very well taken care of.

We booked a trip to Monkeyland while staying in Punta Cana and had a great time. We were picked up at our resort (Grand Bavaro Princess) on a comfortable bus. Our guide at monkeyland was on the bus and gave info while on the bus. He spoke English, Spanish, Russian and French so all of the people on the bus could understand him. (I think he spoke additional languages but those were all that were needed in our group). We learned a lot about the area with the monkeys, coffee and chocolate while driving in. When we arrived, we learned more about the monkeys and it became very evident that they care deeply for the monkeys. This was really nice to see so we knew that we weren't harming the monkeys and that the monkeys wouldn't harm us. We all had a blast while feeding the monkeys and having them jump on us and climb on us. After the monkeys, our guide was very informative with the coffee process and the chocolate process. We were able to try some fresh ground cocoa, fresh coffee, mama Juana and purchase items. This event was perfect for adults and kids.

Definitely recommend if you like to be near monkeys. The guides will have you food to feed the monkeys so you will have many opportunities to take a selfie with one. The monkeys are super friendly but careful they might use the bathroom on you so don’t bring your nice clothes. Also don’t touch the monkeys they will come to you.

So I advise booking through your hotel or somewhere else. I had issues when I tried to book through Viator, booked through the Hotel Amstar for a different day, glad we did. Highly recommend! Ruddy and Perez were amazing guides. Funny, helpful, full of information and so friendly! You will see a lot of sites and learn some very interesting information on this tour. Great your if you're interested in learning more about the area & seeing some of the sites. Don't wear your best outfits... Let's just say you may get christened on this journey by some monkeys... but worth it still. Needles to say we are all going back to wash up. Having so many monkeys jumping all over you is REALLY really amazing. The experience was wonderful! Information and the tour were a great experience. I'm not sharing any pictures of us, but wanted to share a few glimpses of what you will experience. Your imagination can't compare, but you will have a great time. Highly recommend. As a side note- Please remember these people make under $20 a day typically so your tips to each of them makes a world of difference. If they do a good job, I recommend showing them through a tip how much fun you had.

Great guides, great up close and personal experience with Squirrel Monkeys! Love that you wash your feet before going in to help prevent getting the monkeys sick. They're very well taken care of and best of all they're free to roam their huge enclosure!

The trip out to the park was about an hour and a half from Dreams Royal Beach. The tour guide was very informative and gave a lot of local information. The park itself was also fun for my whole family my wife and I enjoyed the tour of the coffee and cocoa plantation. My kids absolutely loved the squirrel monkeys. I am not ashamed to admit my wife and I both enjoyed it as well. The monkeys were in their own enclosure but it was all part of the forest. You are not allowed to touch the monkeys but that doesn't mean they don't crawl and jump all over you. The staff was also very informative on the monkeys and very protective of them. It was a half day excursion and three hours of that was spent in the park. It also let's you see a completely different part of the Dominican. I would definitely recommend this to other families.

This was our families 2nd time visiting Monkeyland excursion October 2021 was from Amber Cove and the family loved it so much we came back in October 2022 from La Romana. The staff provided a great experience. Plenty of opportunities of photos with the monkeys via both your personal camera or phone and their professional cameras. Amado was a great guide giving plenty of information on the drives and during the local house, plant, and tasting parts of the tour.

The monkeys are definitely great. But: 1. $70 for 30 minutes is too much. 2. After buying a ticket you have to wait (we have been waiting for 1 hour). And there is totally nothing to do there during this time, just sit on a bench. 3. You barely cant do anything - cant take the mask of, cant touch the monkeys, cant move without permission. 4. After all they sell you pictures $10 per picture. In total, not worth it.

The ride there brings you through the a few small towns so you can see how people live, which was very interesting. Then you start climbing up the mountains which is simply breathtakingly beautiful. We went first to the coffee and cacao show which was fun and informative. Then came the monkeys. They are super cute and you get plenty of time to spend with them and take lots of pictures. I definitely recommend it.

The best excursion ever! The monkeys are so cute. They weigh next to nothing. Their paws are like cats so soft. They give you plenty of opportunities to take your own photos and of course sell professional ones.

One of the highlights during our stay in Punta Cana. A lot of fun and a unique experience. We coupled zip lining with the same excursion. Zip lining in the jungle was equally fun. Overall, it was a great day, and we highly recommend both excursions.

Experiencing those little monkeys was the highlight of my trip! As a big monkey fan, seeing one in person for the first time had me thrilled like a 5-year-old. 😂 They're so light, soft, and their paws feel like jelly! Unfortunately, the tour to get there was a disaster – long waiting times (4-5 hours) and less than an hour spent with the monkeys. Despite our initial tiredness and disappointment, seeing those little buddies made it all worthwhile. Still, I wouldn't recommend the Runners Adventure company due to their poor time management.

Pick up from a local hotel. Had the zebra Safari truck. Scenic ride to the venue. They offered cold water which was well needed. Our guide was lively and upbeat( "Tusen/Duarte"). We tasted real Cacao. Tasted amazing coffee that was hand made. The views are unreal! Amazing! The Monkeys were Awesome!!! Loved them, feeding them and the entire experience! Worth every penny. Experience of my lifetime.

You can not beat the views. It was beautiful. The monkeys were delightful. We also opted to rent buggies and drive to the river. Strong driving skills are required but a great adventure!

It’s an ok place to visit. We were there for almost 3 hours. The first hour or so we were given an educational tour about coconut, cacao beans and coffee beans. After that you head to the area where the monkeys are but it’s just one species. It’s fun and the kids will love it. The monkeys jump all over you and you will get some great photos. It’s all very touristy at the end of the day.

Very cool experience. Enjoyed interacting with the monkeys. A little underwhelmed by the amount of time spent inside - we spent more time listening to the rules (though don't get me wrong those were every bit required for safety of all parties) than we did inside the enclosure. The monetary value did not equal the worth of the experience in my opinion.

This place was amazing. You walk into their environment, and when the food comes out, these squirel monkeys come to gather around. When food is put in the dishes, the monkeys jump from trees to eat out of the dish. I would recommend bringing a hat if you dont want them on your hair and an extra shirt. The monkeys did poop and pee on people. You can not pet or touch the monkeys. You have to just let them crawl on you. Their feet are very soft, so you don't have to worry about scratches, and as long as you follow the rules, they are extremely docile. I would highly recommend this place for older children and adults.

  • 5/5 Joe 10 months ago on Google
This place was worth it, especially when combined with the zip lines! The staff was very friendly and accomodating, children under a certain age can only do the first 8 zip lines and then they have to go back to the waiting area. You get to taste hot cocoa from the area, they do give you a presentation on local handmade products. The monkeys are super cute and jump from one place to another including getting on people's heads and shoulders, but they are very light and very cute. I highly, highly recommend it. You should know that the people at the resorts that sell you the packages don't work for the venues you are booking and they get paid a % of the total sale to you. Having said that, the prices are not set in stone and you can negotiate them down. Don't be afraid to shop around. Our driver and attendants were funny and knowledgeable.

  • 5/5 Kevin S. 7 months ago on Google
What a place if you are interested in squirrel monkeys! you are given a small bowl of food and the monkeys jump on to you to eat it. Then you are taken for a little talk on how coffee and cocoa beans are prepared. After that you have a drink of coffee and a taste of the cocoa powder. Really interesting experience.

  • 3/5 Barb B. 8 months ago on Google
The Monkeys were the best part. But what they fail to tell you is there's a tour, a lot of walking. I feel they really need to let people know more details about what exactly you'll be doing. People like me with a heart condition, who can not walk too far, need to know exactly what to expect. Especially since it is in the mountains and your walking up and down trails.

  • 5/5 Brianna M. 10 months ago on Google
Fantastic experience!!! Guides were great, got lots of pictures of our own, but they also took fantastic pictures which we bought and are super easy to download and are great. The monkeys were FANTASTIC and our kids loved the experience. We were also transported on a tour bus with great AC which was very comfortable.

  • 5/5 robert t. 2 years ago on Google
The guides see to it that you have plenty of interactions with the monkeys! Everyone in our group were able to experience the monkeys hopping into them and eating right out of the food bowl in their hands. Plenty of photo opportunities! And an added bonus is a great presentation on how cocoa, vanilla, coffee, and cane sugar is harvested and prepared.

  • 5/5 C S. 2 years ago on Google
Loved this excursion. Tour of the farm (coconut, cocoa beans and coffee). Got to learn how each crop is made into an organic product like chocolate, coconut oil, and coffee. The tastes of the hot chocolate and coffee were amazing. The visit to the monkey section was awesome. Monkeys jump all over you and eat fruit. They are cute but careful of them possibly pooping on you. Excellent views all around.

My son and I had a great time here. They seem to really put the health and well being of the monkeys first. Monkeys are very cute, soft and crazy fast. They drop out of the trees onto everyone so quickly when it's feeding time.

I’d highly recommend visiting this place. They don’t rush you at all, you have plenty of time with the monkeys. The staff was great, very knowledgeable and could answer any question you threw at them. So glad we went!

This was an amazing 1/2 day excursion. @Moises was a fantastic driver and was so adept at navigating the unregulated DR traffic. The staff at the zip lines were very kind and helpful. It was done safely and I didn't have any concerns. It was an absolute blast and I wish I could have done it three or four more times. Thank you to all the staff and especially @Moises.

Had a great time. This was the number one destination my kids were looking forward to. Erisell and Mison(sp) were knowledgeable and helpful during the interaction with the monkeys. Unfortunately for the time being you have to wear masks so I couldn’t see the smiles my kids had underneath them.

This was a once in a life time experience, up close and personal with gentle monkeys. Our tour guide was Angel, and driver was Freddy both were very professional, courteous and accommodating. Angel was with our group the entire tour through Monkeyland, and assisted with the coco and coffee demonstrations which were extremely educational and tasty. I highly recommend this tour for all ages.

It was a really fun experience. It’s worth the money. They thought us about coffee and chocolate how it’s made and got to try some. Kids had a great time. Smaller kids might be scared as monkeys jump. Can take your own photos and purchase as well. Lunch was included in our package which was excellent. Overall a fun experience ☺️ Thank you to all the tour guides they were amazing!!

Monkeyland itself was fantastic.its not everyday you get to feed 30 little beings the size of your forearm..and gave them jump all over you and your loved ones I only wish it wasn't 1.5 hrs to get there and another 1.5 hrs of presentations and sales pitches before getting in to see them. I was too eager perhaps.

This place is amazing I would go as far to say probably the best day out I've ever had abroad and we've been to a lot of places. We did a triple experience which started off as zip lines, the team were very helpful and clear with their instructions of what you were going to do. The scenery was so beautiful and one of the lines took you over a river. We then had lunch at a nearby house which was delicious then onto the monkeys. You are not allowed to stroke them and you have to be clean so hands and shoes sanitised before walking into the enclosure which is massive. Then the monkeys start jumping all over you I never stopped smiling. After this we then went in a 4x4 off roading. The course was brilliant and you get extremely muddy which the boys just loved. I highly recommend going to this place you won't be disappointed and the staff are brilliant 😃

Our family visited Monkeyland as an excursion on our July 2022 Carnival cruise to the Dominican Republic. We're a family of seven. Our kids, ages 12-19, were very excited for the opportunity to interact with the monkeys. I thought it might be ok but mainly booked it for the kids. When it was over, we all had a blast! It was so much fun! After the monkeys our guide, Denisse, gave us a tour through a typical Dominican home and showed us the cocoa and coffee harvesting process. She was very knowledgeable and added a great touch of local culture to our trip. A great excursion for families of all ages!

This was an awesome experience. If you love monkeys, these are the cutest you will ever see. Monkeys began jumping from out of the tree onto our head and shoulders once the food was brought out. We have been on several excursions that animals were involved in, but this has been the best of them all.

Amazing and unique experience! Our bus driver Cesar and our tour guide Angel were both great. Angel was in a great mood, very entertaining and charming. Even the long bus ride was fun, despite my motion sickness. We were picked up on time and arrived back at the resort safely. The monkeys were adorable and seemed well taken care of. After feeding them and getting to take photos with them we also got to visit the plantation and see witness how coffee and chocolate is made. Angel was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about his beautiful culture. Would definitely recommend!

Loved everything about Monkeyland! Our guides were fantastic, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. I love how they knew all the names of the monkeys and their personalities. (Oliver was my favorite!) We had a blast and everyone around us did too! I was very impressed with the historical portion as well - very well done presentation about cacao and coffee, with some delicious things to taste. This excursion is planned immaculately - not too much waiting, and the cost was extremely affordable as well.
