This place has been around for a while. I would know because I have been coming since I was a child. However, the quality of the food has gone way down. What you see pictured is shrimp “cocktail”, which as you can see from the picture is just shrimp with a Mayo and ketchup mixture on top of it. Yuck 🤢 The second picture was suppose to be a salpicón, another plate that was not good. And last they give you free chips, but they might as well keep it. These chips were soggy and burnt. Over all terrible experience.

The best restaurant I tried in Dominican-Republic. Good service and good quality and price. The grilled seafood platter is so delicious and big enough for 2 people. Very nice sea view. I 100% recommend.

Hector our Uber recommend us this place and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing! Although, I think it was a bit expensive, but totally worth it.

This was probably the best lobster I have ever had in my life. The grilled seafood platter was enough food for my husband, 6 year old son, and myself. It comes with a side of plantains and we also got the octopus for appetizer. Wonderful food & service….not to mention you are right on the beach! My husband wants to go back before we leave the DR.

I am so glad we found this restaurant. The food at the resort (TRS) was okay but Captain Cook is the spot. Big up the Top Chef Raul for making us feel at home and doing his thing on the grill. I'll definitely be back for more food and that perfection view😍

Welcomed by Wilkins and shown to a table. Menu explained and advised about the time of year meaning no local lobster due to breeding. Very knowledgeable and such a caring person with excellent customer service. Large portions and excellent quality. Definitely recommend

The best seafood I’ve ever had! It was super fresh and perfectly seasoned. 🙌🏽 The cost for all that we had was about $113 for the seafood platter, spaghetti, 3 mama Juana, 2 presidents, 2 Coronas, 1 margarita, 1 shot of tequila, and a lobster. Hands down the best bang for your buck.

Great atmosphere. Great food. Beautiful views of the ocean. Reasonably priced seafood. Service could be a little bit better. Google says they open at 12pm but they don’t serve until after 12:30.

Unfortunately didn’t have the experience expected after reading the reviews. They allow people to smoke hookah because it is open air restaurant and the smoke from the table next to ours was going straight to where we were sitting which bothered me. The waiter was nice at first but took way too long to get to us when we needed him. The food was ok, ordered paella mixta, nothing special. My sister ordered well done steak, they made it medium. It took a while to get attention from the waiter and another while to get the steak fixed

I am very glad I chose this place for my bday dinner, The view was stunning, right in front of the Ocean, food was delicious and reasonably priced, the service was great, very attentive and friendly. The only thing is that if you want to drink, do not go for cocktails, other than that, I had a great experience.

We stopped in from a walk on the beach....it was really busy ...service seemed rush but I guess to be as expected ..pricing was not good not bad...food was ok....we have had much better margaritas...too sweet...so just couldn't give it 5 stars...

Recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Punta Cana! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Palladium and came to Captain Cook's twice. He got the steak and I got the shrimp & lobster, it was absolutely delicious! Our server Wilkins was so kind and welcoming, he ensured we were taken care of. It's a beautiful view as we sat facing the beach and our first visit made us come back again, will definitely visit this restaurant when we come back.

Great seafood directly on the beach. Good service. Didn’t like the area outside of the restaurant, felt unsafe in the evening, people were bothering us and I got attacked by a street dog.

We came to this restaurant twice because we liked the food so much. All the seafood was very fresh and cooked perfectly. Chino was a great and attentive waiter who took time to explain and give recommendations. Also a nice spot to watch the sunset.

We had an amazing dinner here! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. David was our server and he was great. Really nice touch was the two gentleman that sang at our table. Can’t wait to come back.

We were very lucky to be offered a table open-air on the sand in front of the sea. The atmosphere was great! The food delicious too. They offered us for free a salad and some fried shrimp pies as appetizer and in the end a delicious coconut ice cream. Probably cause of the taxes here (+28% at anything you buy) that result in much more pricey prices than those shown in the menus. So be careful. But I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Capitan Cook is a fantastic beach seafood restaurant. We tried the grilled fish and shrimps, and Chef Chino prepared them perfectly and they were absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Genaro, was amazing. He helped us choose the best options, always had a cheerful attitude, and checked on us with a warm smile. I love the location, the food, and the service. Can't wait to come back soon!

We have been in Punta Cana for the last week at an all inclusive with terrible food. I started googling for at least edible food yesterday, found this restaurant and I have so many regrets of not looking sooner! We (2 people) shared the grilled seafood mix and this is the most amazing seafood we’ve had on 5 different islands. Please give this place a try!

Excellent. The food was great, very fresh fish and jumbo shrimp. The view is awesome and the service was the best I had in Bávaro. Special mention to our waiter David and to Uriol for the fun. We will be back

We visited this restaurant today for dinner and were amazed at how great it was. The reviews do not do it any justice. You have to visit and see it yourself. Wilkins was our server and he was amazing. He greeted us at the door and gave a small tour of the restaurant and showed us food selections in person before giving us a menu. The food was very fresh and seasoned well. We ordered grilled snapper, rice, and plantains. More than enough food for 2 people. We took it to go. To your servers well. They definitely deserve it. They called our taxi for us when we finished. Thank you Wilkins for your outstanding customer service.

So glad our tour guide from the Catalina island tour and snorkeling told us about this seafood restaurant on the beach a few minutes away from Dreams Royal Beach via taxi, you could probably walk it along the beach if you wanted to! Outstanding service, seafood and the views are fantastic ! Well done Capitan cook!!

My favorite waitress is Maria!!! She is very nice and always gives great service. I always make sure she's my waitress. And, on top of all of that the food is delicious!!!!

We ate here every day on average for 2 weeks. Sometimes 2 times a day. Want to pay a tribute to Wilkin, Britney and Antonio. As well as all the chefs who prepared our food, and always greeted and welcomed us. We didn't want to go anywhere else after that treatment, of course. Such nice staff who received us as family and guests with great love and service. We cant wait to come back!

Small hole in the wall place but they do have good food price is bit above average but not bad def. Recommending it. And its right on the water with great views oh and get natural Pina Colada as they say with extra vitamin aka alcohol 😂🤣😂🤣

Awesome service. It was a bit slow but we got 7 🌟 service. In DR getting great service is scarce. We were in the kitchen choosing what to eat. We had shrimp, lobster and dorado. Just grilled fish with lemon. No spicy sauce, just lemon. The views are great. DO NOT ORDER WINE. THE WINE LIST IS HORRIBLE. Keep it simple with beer, water or passion fruit juice. Will def go back next time 🤞🏻 $$

Amazing place with a beautiful view, a beautiful location with an amazing team. Maria is the best waiter ever and, if you like your cocktails, ask for Luis behind the bar. His Margaritas will leave you very confused, very happy and you'll be eating more. Excellent experience. 6 stars.

Captain Cook's is absolutely delicious. To most people it pricey but to Americas or Europeans it should be more than acceptable and within price range. The food.. We had the 5 piece of fried chicken and OMG soooo good.. We also had the onion pepper Steak Criolla with rice and beans and OMG was that good as well. The view overlooks the beach ocean. The location is centrally located by Onno's (they offer Taco Tuesdays and pasta and pizza from 6-7pm) and Celina's restaurants (All 3 are wonderful amd delicious). Captain cooks offers fried chips, salad and fried fish fritters as appetizers on the house! Their seafood options are the best in the area restaurants in my opinion and just overall a wonderful place to eat.

We ordered the Seafood Parillada for 2 which was good enough for 3 people if you don't eat a lot. The taste was fresh and lightly seasoned and it was delicious. The place has a very nice new to the beach since is right in front if it, you can either sit outside or inside. There was a long wait to get our food after we ordered which was the downside, place can improve in their timing.

Portions are so small that the main course for two people was served on one plate. It was far too salty and nothing special. Also no Dominican dishes to choose from. Defo no value for price but in the resort-dominated place like this it is difficult to find anything good or authentic.
