Other reviewers in the last few days have posted the exact same complaints we have. Lack of details, lack of food options, disappointing service, quality of food and drinks is abysmal. Bathrooms dirty, slow to no service when you ask someone to fix something. I could go on. It pretends at luxury but it’s not real. I have not yet experienced real service that goes with the term “resort”. And I don’t even mean luxury. I feel bad as my parents booked a trip here for our whole family and we’ve all been a bit bummed as we try to make the most of it. Additional note. The pictures google shows you are for all of the Bahia principe hotels connected to this property. It is very misleading. Don’t use these pictures, or even Bahia’s own website pictures as a guide to determining what this place is like. Just stay away. Edit: about a month after I’ve posted this review for the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana the location this review has been associated with is the lobby bar in the hotel. They’ve somehow deleted the location of the hotel on Google! Not pleased with their deception. Don’t go here. It’s not worth it just for the lobby bar.

Loved my stay here. They have carts doing rotations of the property every 10-20 mins. The rooms were nice and spacious. The balcony was comfy and great to read on. The bathtub was a bit tall to get into but I'll blame that on my short legs. There are a few pools and the beach is amazing!!! Water can be a bit rough but manageable. Food was good no complaints nor any sickness on my end, but I always recommend ducoral as other people did get sick on the resort.

Please believe this post. They ask for ratings that they score high in. Location, rooms and service. No elevators. Rooms on third floor. No wash cloths for two days. Had to ask for them and received hand towels for the first two days. This is not all inclusive. It has limitations. I have travelled and stayed at all inclusive resorts all over the world but this was disappointing. Meal times limited for the buffet. No snacks offered between meal times. If you don’t eat breakfast there was nothing to eat until they opened for lunch. You can not eat at all of the restaurants. With a six day stay you only get to eat at TWO of the Six restaurants. The evening shows were a 7 at best. They were asking guest to take off their shoes and bring them on a stage!!!! They did not have an emergency illness plan in place. A friend got sick and they treated him like he was drunk. He doesn’t drink more than a half of a beer. He had an allergic reaction to something he ate at their restaurant. Thank God there was a nurse eating in the restaurant to assist because the workers treated us horribly. Showers leaked water in the floor. The divider was only half way connected to the tub so if you didn’t stand directly under the shower water soaked the bath mat. This is not a 4 or 5 star resort.

If you’re looking for a resort that will meet you basic needs for an all inclusive at a very affordable price, Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana is it! For our family of 4 it only cost us $1100 for a week. But, with that price you get what you pay for. Rooms are dated and could use some improvement but understanding you’re in a very poverty stricken country, it makes you appreciate the rooms more and not look for every detail to complain about. Food is typical resort food. The food at the restaurants is much better than the food at the buffet, but with a week stay you only get to dine at the restaurants 3 times for dinner. Otherwise you’re only option is the buffet for all other meals. And the buffet is the only option for breakfast and lunch. The food is okay, we all found something we liked at each meal but took us a few days to realize we just needed to stick what we liked. Beach was beautiful but we had a lot of seaweed but that’s not the resorts fault. They did a good job using rakes and tractors early morning to rake it up. Staff was very friendly and goofy and we appreciated that. Especially being so sweet and playful with out two little kids. Overall, I would return again for the price with our kids. But I wouldn’t come back as an adult trip or if I wanted something more luxurious. If you’re looking for a good place on a budget, this will be a great choice.

I have never had to complain like this before, and I hope I never have to. The outside is very well maintained but the inside is a different kettle of fish. The room was dirty from the time we got in at 10 pm, black hair hanging from the dirty sheers over the bed, bedspread had black foot prints all over it, the floors had black hair all over them not sweeped, had to have maintenance to fix the lights, when we got there asked 3 times for it to be cleaned, A bed was brought in for the 3rd person and I asked 3 times for maintenance before it got fixed.. 3 people need 3 towels not 2 towels we don't share. Bath tub was so high had to climb in the shower. And constantly have to ask for water for 3 people , 1 or 2 bottles do not cut it. The staff should speak some English to get by so that you always can communicate not just say speak no English. And room service well no one wanted to deal with our requests so they keeped us on hold or just hung up on us. All inclusive means all-inclusive not well you can drink at the bar but you can not take a bottle of house wine to your room. And guests services did not get back to me. All around service was bad , in the restaurants very little English and it would take half an hour just to get water or coffee cups and coffee or tea . This was a birthday week for me and all I did was have to complain for the first 4 days. Very disappointing for the money .

We was allocated a room with 1 bed and I was travelling with my friend. Room was dirty a fly dead in the bathroom all the 10 days we was there. Tv showed grainy Mexican station 1 station only. Maid service hit and miss one night no towels. Bar staff in lobby miserable. Entertainment team only spoke to Spanish speaking guests. Buffet same everyday really. Themed restaurants very nice expect the Greek one.

I will not be going back to this resort or recommend anyone to book their trip at this resort. We were a large group celebrating a beach wedding. The staff is lazy and rude, very poor customer service. They barely understood English especially the bars and restaurants. Even the basic requests they didn't understand what you were asking. Many people in our group had items stolen from their rooms and safes were tampered with. Food was repetitive all week. After 12hrs of waiting and many arguments, we finally recieved towels in our room. The event planners for the wedding were fantastic. The wedding director Maria was amazing to deal with. I have nothing bad to say about the process of the planning and actual event but they are a separate company from the resort so that could be the reason. So many mosquitoes, we all got eaten alive. I recommend bringing bug spray if traveling anywhere in the DR because they will charge you an arm and a leg to purchase it on the resort. As well as sunscreen, bring enough from home to last you, as the resort was selling sunscreen for $58 US dollars!

After my stay in 2013 , this year I convinced my family to chose Bahia principe for our vacation. We were very disappointed by the quality of the rooms and cleaning services. We had key door issues at our arrival, then room cleaning issues not getting towels everyday , not having water at the room and my room was not cleaned everyday. Since my stay they cleaned only once my bathroom . I don’t know what happened to the resort and it’s service but please fix it because it’s a very beautiful resort from outside . Food was ok , nothing special everyday same thing we filled like we were in camp … They are putting way too much sugar in their juices and yogourt , people with diabetes should be more careful. People working there was very nice 😊 despite the issues that I have mentioned we had very good service with personal of the hotel in general .

I can not believe this hotel is a 4.5 Star. I don’t know where they getting this score from. The rooms are discussing , bathrooms needs to be updated, they are full of mosquitos. I had slap mosquito in my hand like never before. They need to fumigate this rooms more often. The beach is very duty , full of algae. This hotel is very boring for kids is not much to do or to see. In the other hand buffet is great. They have a lot of choice to pick from and services it’s good. But after the buffet closed they don’t have snacks bar or anything to eat in between lunch and dinner. It’s hard to find things to eat. I can continue on , but I guess everyone has to live their own experience. My has not been good.

This is a great family resort (there is also adult only areas). Nice buffet with lots of options, and restaurants entertainment program. Yuleisy & Miguel did a great job cheering up the pool area.

An amazing all inclusive experience. Incredible buffets and restaurants. Fun shows and entertainment. Great beaches and a ton of great pools. Super clean restrooms. Very helpful staff. Leo the tram driver is super helpful and a great place to start.

Construction was happening during our stay and we weren’t made aware prior to booking. Pool beside beach was closed and villas near beach were also closed. Otherwise very good stay. Rooms and resort are slightly outdated but they are working on updating them. Food was alright. Some days were better than others. Beach lunch buffet is good. Ramon at the pool bar is the absolute best. He is always on top of whose drink is empty and refilling them without a hesitation. He is the most organized and fastest bartender at the entire resort. Any where else on the resort the bar is chaos. Long lines and delays. He never failed to make an amazing drink. Otherwise I recommend this place more for families, as it is more catered to this.

While I will say the staff deserve 5+ stars, the ambiance was excellent. The rooms were clean but not well maintained. Not all the lights worked, and only two outlets. The food, while plentiful, was not prepared well. I was especially disappointed in the "Italian" restaurant. I was only Italian in name but did not have an Italian menu. Overall, it was a great party experience, but so for dining. Again, the staff worked their buts off to entertain us and make sure we were comfortable.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be let down. So far the hotel has everything i needed for my week vacation, many pools and clean sand beach, and the entertainment staff specially Riorelit is more than accommodating and gave us all the information we needed. I would recommend it for your future trip.

Big, open space lobby with lots of tables and comfortable seating. There is a variety of options for drinks and cocktails and the bartenders are always nice and with a smile on their faces, ready to help you. If you’re undecided on what to drink, there is a handy cocktail menu accessible via QR code available on every table in the lobby. A very nice space to spend your time with a drink in your hand and catch a show in the evening. The only negative is the mosquitoes, they could be quite annoying if your skin is exposed

Had a great time here. Clean facilities, food was good for this country, beach and pools very nice. Buffet was full of great choices and theme changed daily. Bring you bug spray though as there are mosquitoes. I will go again for sure. Maybe try another of the hotels on the property!

We stayed throughout a hurricane so I understand that many services are either limited or unavailable. However, I dont see why all snack bars were closed 7 days before/after the hurricane. Beaches and pools are all awesome but the food was very unimpressive. Alot of items were either dry/unseasones/recycled from previous meals. Had stomach issues throughtout the entire stay and seeing cockroaches every time I visited the lobby/buffet did not help (that may have been because of the hurricane). Overall It is a decent place to go as a family but as a couple with a picky eater I would 100% reccomend a different resort.

We don't travel often and had a generally good time at this resort, though there were notable issues and I must share some concerns for potential travellers. The food was satisfying, and the beach was the best part, offered blue, clean water with good sand. The resort is large, providing many areas to explore and the entertainment was decent. However, I wouldn't recommend this resort. A significant language barrier with the staff. Our room had very bad bathroom conditions, it had a lot of mold and some rust. Towels and pillow quality were poor, and only two towels were provided daily, varying in size and quality. The safe had issues, took a lot of energy and time to get it sorted. Room cleaning was not great, with sink taps seemingly untouched. Restocking was inconsistent, had to call multiple times for basics like toilet paper and drinking water. Had to use one tiny hand soap throughout our 10-day stay, provided on the first day. Shower gel and shampoo level was very low, had to ask multiple times before it got refilled. The Dominican Republic's challenges are acknowledged, and I fully sympathize with the staff, they do try hard. But certain service standards must be maintained by the management.

Great place to stay while visiting Punta Cana DR. The rooms were gorgeous and all the extras were super great! The scenery as you can see is beautiful! We came in late July. The beach was “ok” covered in algae/seaweed though 😪. Also, the food is very “Americanized”. Service could have been a little more friendly/Catering. The service provides speak broken English, so please brush up on your Spanish before you book and stay here.

Soon that we got here, the receptionist was very friendly. The rooms was nice but the bathroom was not very pleasured. At night I called the front desk for assistance and it was excellent. Today, I met the housekeeper Rosa and she was super attentive to my requests. I loved the variety of food and the service. In general, the team is great s as bd friendly.

Animation crew are simply amazing. Could ask for a better team to manage and run our entertainment to keep our family filled with joy and laughter. Simply amazing 100 percent recommend Marlyn was outstanding along with his colleagues. Thank again guys well done.

Rooms are outdated. You get 3 beds but they are small. Only have one buffet for the entire Grand resort. If you don't reserve restaurants which you are only allowed to book 4 then you have one option. So that one place you get breakfast/lunch/dinner. Next time I would pay the extra and upgrade to the luxury side. Pools are decent, beach is very nice with clear water.

Resort is nice. Pool is nice. Food is okay. Not a fan. I’ll be honest I got sick on the first day so for the rest of the trip I ate basic stuff pizza, fries, white rice, etc. Breakfast waffles and omelets were good and desserts were delicious. ( I avoided seafood which I think is what made me sick) The room was spacious but it had no air condition just a fan on top of the ceiling. Beach was very nice but only thing is the sellers on the beach…be careful because one of them tried to steal my significant others sandals… which was not cool at all. Resort staff very attentive. Entertainment in the resort was very cool lots of talent, music was great and lots of dancing in the shows very neat. Resort has pros and cons but nothing is ever really perfect so you just have to adapt. Thought I would share my experience . Hope this helps :)

We had a great time! The resort was super busy when we went and there are several of their resorts all on one property, so it can get kind of packed. In my opinion, the best time to go is in the winter months, because it is better weather. We went in June and it was so hot and humid everywhere. The air conditioning in all of the buildings was very faint. They are currently renovating the property so it should have a new updates look soon! Lastly, all of the staff was super friendly and accommodating and they did a great job at planning daily activities in the common areas!

First time going to the D.R. and staying at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana, and it was awesome. The resort was impressive itself with the beautiful and comfortable rooms, the exquisite manicured grounds, and the beautiful pools for the adults and the children. The food was delicious, and there were so many choices. They had something of almost every nationality. The staff at the resort were very friendly, polite, and extremely helpful, from the front desk staff Felix Parrot, who went way and beyond to accommodate our several requests to Yoselin and her team at the main bar whom served up some great cocktails.. The beach area was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Beautiful resort with access to many amenities. The cart service gets you around the expansive area really quickly and the access to different areas of the resort is very easy. The staff is polite and courteous. The restaurants have a variety of food and all of it is worth trying (especially the Japanese). This is our family’s second vacation here and we will definitely be back soon. Bring the kids because this is one place they will not get bored!

In 2022 I went Bahia Principe twice once in June and October. I really enjoyed my stay the entertainment group is what made my vacation very enjoyable. Everyday there were activities by the pool and the beach. The zumba, water aerobics with Miguel were so much fun he is really knows how to get everyone moving all the sports activities were phenomenal. The parties at night by the entertainment group were so much fun, they were so nice always interactive and engaging with the guests. I Definitely would go again!

Entertainment was 10 out of 10, provided some of the highlights from my holiday here, Carlos and Ana always making my mornings with their crazy antics fantastic game ideas (Great prizes for games too). Been all over the world and the service and respect they show to guests is the best I've seen.

Good value. Average food. Some staff need training in How to respond to guests. Beware false advertising as you do NOT have access to all resorts on the compkec

For the price we paid and I’m sure many others are for this specific resort I’d say it’s well worth it. While check-in lines can be long and the staff are dealing with a variety of complaints they always have the utmost respect and politeness when dealing with you especially Jerfy. It did suck when we weren’t offered any arrival cocktails like many advertise or claim about Bahia resorts and that our check in was delayed an hour which we weren’t to pleased with, but we did get our wristbands which allowed us to go have some drinks at the bar. The bartenders there are extremely fun and tempering, they knew us well after the first couple days and have a great personality on them!

Today is our last day at the Bahia Primcipe Grand Punta Cana. I'm not going to lie, but I was a little hesitant reading some of the reviews prior to coming here. But I have to say, my husband and I had an amazing experience. Sure the rooms are a little outdated but they were very clean. We were so impressed how hard everyone works on this resort to keep everything clean and in order. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!!! If you haven't come to this resort, please do not get influenced by the negative reviews. First get the experience. So happy we didn't cancel our trip!!!

My wife and I just spent a week at this resort and we read the reviews before we went (we usually don’t take the reviews too seriously and we rarely, if ever, write one, but there were a lot of bad ones). We now see, once again, why we don’t take reviews too seriously!! This place was amazing!! Our room was clean, our shower was excellent, the food at the buffet was among the best we have ever had at any resort we ever stayed at (quantity, quality and variety), service at the bars was great (any drink we wanted). The online checkin worked great, checkout was smooth. The beach was beautiful and the pools were super clean. Yes there was the odd mosquito in our room ( we get mosquitoes in our home sometimes too). We did the steakhouse a la cart and enjoyed it. Do not hesitate to book this resort.
