I am fairly new to diving and currently working on my advanced open water certification. While on vacation in Punta Cana last week, I thought that it would be a great time to do my deep water dive. I took the advice of my local dive shop owner and messaged a couple dive companies to see how well they responded. Udo was the best, always emailed me back the same day with plenty of information and links to dive locations. I was staying at a resort on the north side (Atlantic) of the island, and Udo said I would be disappointed if I dove there. He recommended we do the deep dive at the St. George shipwreck so we went to the south side (Caribbean). The number of species and quantity of fish and coral were amazing! Everything you read in all the Ultra Marine reviews is spot on, from picking you up and dropping you off at your resort, small groups only, safety, how friendly and outgoing the staff and boat crew are, to how amazing the diving is. I wouldn’t choose any other dive company to go with after how great of an experience I had diving with Udo. Thank you again Udo!

Amazing dive outfit for those interested in a straightforward experience and great dive. Unlike many of the excursions in the islands where the price and details keep changing, our dive was exactly as agreed. No surprises, fair price, great service! Udo took great care of us by picking us up at the hotel and driving to the dive shop. We fitted some gear and headed for the boat. Our dive at the Atlantic Princess ship wreck is one of the best I’ve done. Navigating through skinny corridors in 40’ of water was a thrilling experience. All in, we had a great day and I would recommend Ultra to any divers visiting Punta Cana.

After alot of research I decided on Ultra Marine Divers and I couldn't be happier. Udo and his staff were top notch and always put safety first. I got my advance open water certification while I was there. The team from Harold , Stefan and Udo were top notch. I'll be reuting again and again for my certifications. The one on one experience was amazing and helped for things to really sink ini dove 4 days and we hit many spots.

I did my PADI Open Water with Udo and it was an absolutely amazing experience. He is a really, really patient instructor and also manages to explain everything in a very understanding way and makes you feel absolutely safe under water! I feel like I’ve learned what I needed to to enjoy diving and besides that had a lot of fun. What can I say about Ultra Marine Divers that hasn't been said already? They are simply amazing. Udo was prompt in responding to emails and arranging for me 3 days of great diving. I did a day at Catalina, a day in Saona, as well as a day diving Penon Reef. Stefan was my dive master and it was such a pleasure diving with him. He is very professional in his demeanor and cares about making sure you are safe and that you have a great time. He was also good at finding many wonderful animals to see. We saw together turtles, a seahorse, many kinds of moray eels, stingrays, garden eels, spotted drumbox fish, various shrimps and crabs, and a snake eel. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the diving is in Dominican and feel that it is underrated. Stefan is also talented at taking pictures and videos with his gopro and was nice enough to capture memories of the dives and email them to me at no extra charge. I have attached with this review a few pictures that he took. If you are considering diving in the Dominican Republic then do not hesitate to book with Ultra Marine Divers as they will take really good care of you. Those guys are great! Udo was amazing on dealing and arranging all the divings. Quick, simple and direct communication. No fuzz and no BS, just what needs to be discussed. Fair price and better cost x benefit than other diving centers I checked. The staff was great. They were all super experienced, nice and welcoming. Specially Paola, who was my DM. She was patient, kind and super experienced. Was always checking on me during the divings and took me to great spots where I could see a load of fun stuff. And yes, they all knew the cool spots to dive. I recommend the Atlantic ship wreck - fun, easy and loas of life out there. Equipments were in good shape and well maintained. Boats where good and fast. Lastly, good food provided on the full day trips. Totally recommend and it is a worth it experience!

I’ve been coming back to Dominican to dive with Ultra Marina since 4 yrs ago. Udo is amazing and very patient. He takes his time to make sure you are comfortable and most importantly safe. I have been coming back to him and have completed my advance and rescue diving with him, and plan to complete dive master training with him next year. Not only does he take him time in teaching you all the skills but he also makes it fun. What I love the most is that all my dives have been private and I feel extremely comfortable vs group dives of 6-10 people. Excellent experience!

Me and my 2 daughters (16&21) had 2 amazing dives with Udo. Picked us up from hotel directly to diving and right back to hotel. Everything was safe and equipment was in great shape. This was the 1st dive for my girls and they were nervous but Udo was great with them. Definitely will dive with him again.

I have limited dive experience and it had been over a year since my last dive, so I was a bit anxious. Everyone at Ultra was amazing! I would dive with them again without any hesitation. Highly recommend.

Our dive trip was great. My wife is just getting in to diving with a discovery dive and Stefan took the time to explain things to her and make her feel comfortable prior to the dive. Franci was also a big help during the entire trip even though we weren’t her clients. I would highly recommend diving with Ultra Marine. I found Udo and his team from positive online reviews. My husband and I booked with him via what’s app. It was really easy and convenient. They picked us up from our hotel. Drove to the boat dock and went to two dive spots. It was really fun and the entire dive team was so nice and professional. Great center to dive. They pick you up at your hotel and you can dive in Bayabe for a good price. The team is really professional and kind, and they are taking pictures (for free) during the dives. We really enjoy the dives with my daughter. They speak many languages German English,Spanish, French… The equipments and boat are great. Don t hesitate to dive with them.

Excellent experience diving with Ultra Marine Divers. They are organized, honest and passionate about providing a great diving experience. Pick up/drop off was on time, prices are reasonable/affordable and most importantly, the diving was enjoyable and safe. They communicated via What's App, which was free for me while on wifi (helpful while travelling with no local cellphone plan). A nice bonus was that they took pictures while diving and sent them out for free (this wasn't discussed or promised to me, so it was a nice bonus). I recommend Ultra Marine Divers to anyone and cannot wait to return and dive with them again.

I did 2 days with Ultra Marine Divers. I was Picked up in Punta Cana and driven to Bayahibe. Udo provided beyond excellent service and guiding of St George and Atlantic Princess wrecks. In fact it prompted me to return very next day with my son and brother in law. They made adjustments to my requests like it was no problem, and made it all happen. Great customer service!! Next day Stefan took excellent care of us. His experience was fabulous and it made all feel comfortable. Ultra Marine Divers made my vacation!!

Ultra Marine Divers were wonderful to work with for our recent dive in the Bayahibe region of the Dominican Republic. Udo, the owner and dive master for the shop was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive and informative in any communications. He was very upfront with all costs and we paid exactly what we agreed on initially. We had no unexpected charges at all. We dove the Atlantic Princess wreck and a coral sanctuary near Bayahibe. The Atlantic Princess was full of diverse and colorful fish with thrilling swim throughs. Water temperature was a perfect 82F and visibility was 80'+. Udo was very friendly and spoke great English, Spanish and German! He took us to two fantastic dive sites for our dives. Udo was fun to chat with and joke with throughout the day. He was on time picking us up and we returned to the resort on time as well. He arranged transportation for us from our resort to the dives which was very convenient. I would absolutely recommend Udo and Ultra Marine Divers for anyone looking for a fun, easy, and beautiful dive experience in the Dominican Republic! Thank you Udo for all your do!

I did my PADI OWD course with Stefan and he was amazing! He made me feel very safe, was super patient with my incessant questions and shenanigans, and had a great sense of humour. He went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, lending me his rashguard when I forgot mine. As others have mentioned, they also take photos of you on your dive which is super cool (yay new profile pic)! I had a ton of fun and met a lot of really cool people during our drives to and from Bayahibe! Even learned a few Spanish words from the driver. I was extra happy with my decision to go off-resort to Ultra Marine Divers when I saw the dive centre at my resort doing their pool training in a group of 5 in a packed pool. I will definitely be back!

The setup at Ultra Marine Divers is excellent. Udo is really well organised and super helpful. Dived with one of his team Stefan who made sure I had a great and super safe dive - sea life was amazing! I highly recommend them.

It was my first time in Dominican Republic at all, and obviously first time diving there. I started preparing for the trip several months before and I’ve read in some review that Ultra Marine Divers is a club for “real divers, not tourists...” That statement defined for me that this is definitely the club I should choose for my dives. And I wasn’t disappointed. Udo was very responsive by email and WhatsApp, responded to my every question (and I had a lot:)) while preparing for the trip. During the trip itself I felt like I am the only client, although there were several divers on the boat. Each one got a lot of attention. Udo was very punctual and professional both in planning and executing the diving program. Groups were small and divers were matched depending on their level. Boats were spacious and comfortable. My gear was collected from the boat and washed by club staff and returned to me next morning clean and almost dry. During my 5-day diving I never went to the same site twice and I’ve seen all the best Punta Cana/Bayahibe region diving can offer. Thanks a lot Udo!!!

My husband and I did the discovery dive with Ultra Marine Divers. We had pick up at the hotel and back to the hotel after the dives. Great day on the boat, two dives, a stop on Saona Island for lunch and then the natural pool. It was a great experience, Udo is a great and fun instructor, really helped building the confidence under water. We recommend 100%! Thank you again Udo :)

We highly recommend Udo and his team at Ultra Marine Divers!!! My friend and I took our three sons ages 15, 12 & 12 on there first dives since completing there Open Water Diving certification. We could not have asked for a better experience for all of us! Udo and his team are very professional, their gear is high-quality and the dive sites were unbelievable! My boyfriend and I dove two days with ultra marine divers, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. I, especially, felt very safe during the dives considering it was only my second time diving. Udo was great at pointing out wildlife along the dive and letting us explore the shipwreck and the reefs.

I made a reservation a couple months before my trip to dive Catalina Wall. Everything was coordinated using what’s app. Coordination was very smooth. The team speaks good English. On dive day we were picked up promptly at 7:30 AM from our resort. We drove one hour to Los Melones where we picked up our rental equipment and met up with our DM. Stefan was the DM for our trip. It was my sons first ocean dive so we stayed above 40’. Stefan puts safety first and will make sure you have a great dive. He also offered to take photos and video for us at no extra cost. After our two dives we stopped on Catalina island for a few hours. Food and drinks were provided with the trip. This trip was an absolute great value and we will dive with ultra marine on any future trips to DR.

Brought my 75 year old father, brother and niece to try discover scuba. I am certified. Udo and his team were very professional and accommodating. Our instructor Stephan was the ultimate professional and very patient with us all. Udo is a very professional shop owner and very flexible. Udo was very nice and took time to sort out ev-ery-thing! I had the chance to dive with Stefan who speaks 5 languages and a perfect French! He was giving us a lot of freedom and wasn’t intrusive at all like other divemasters who are constantly asking for divers attention (clink clink clink). 2 dives around Catalina island, good food, nice chats, fair price, and free pictures. We dove with Udo back in October. It was a great experience. He picked us up at our resort and drove us out to the boat. The equipment he provided us was in great condition. Udo is very personable and knowledgeable. The private dive with him was worth every penny. He let us go at our own pace. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable. If we ever return to Punta Cana Ultra Marine is the only dive company we will use. Don't second guess using them you will be so happy you did.
