Went here at the STAR DISC at wirksworth sometime last year! 2022. I found it to be a really amazing place! with spectacular views of derbyshire! Plus it's a massive climb up through the country park or road but dam worth it. 😉👍 It also lights up every night !!

Getting up to the stardisc either walking or by car is not for the faint hearted, but it is well worth it when you get there I went with family Inc 4 grandchildren all stood on their birth sign, as looked out over the the amazing views. We all agreed to take a closer look at the quarry in the future. The children even picked blackberries and explored the hillside. Afterwards it was down to Matlock Bath for fish and chips. Charles' restaurant was very good

Very disappointing. Went at Sunset to try & see the Perseid meteor shower, but the StarDisc didn’t light up afterwards in the dark? Interesting view of a nearby quarry via an elevated platform next to the StarDisc but you cannot actually see the sunset from the Disc itself because of tree cover. All in all, I should have saved the 12 mile round trip, stayed in my holiday cottage & watched the meteors from there instead.

Surprisingly busy at 9pm on a Saturday night! Couldn't see much due to cloud cover, and a little bit upset that there are trees covering so much of the view. Definitely will return during the day at some point soon, and also a night trip to see the stars.

It was very peaceful. The trees need pruning back as block alot of the sky when sat up on the platform. Huge disappointment that the lights didn't work on it. Solar panel obviously broken.

When the lights are on it does look nice, and when the sky is clear you can try and find the floor to the stars but you'll just just staring upwards at the beautiful stars, narrow lane to the place good in the day due to seeing the quarry and ofc at night, good to stop of your near by

The Stardisc itself is a fascinating place, a brilliant idea and a setting with great views of the surrounding countryside. Access though is another thing. If the weather has been fine for several days and you are in possession of strong legs and stout boots you can Access it through the woods. This entrance is off a road which is signposted with a brown "tourist information" signpost. If not, then road access is A) not well signposted and B)up one of the steepest and narrowest roads I have ever driven on."The Dale" is a bit of a challenge. You access it off the Market Place and it is extremely easy to miss.
