Beautiful woods very close to town. Feels like miles away in the countryside but it's just on our doorstep.

A beautiful ancient hilltop woodland to explore. I found free parking on Bankside. Rich with oak, beech and some great views at the top. Some of the walks are on an incline and not suitable for wheelchairs/pushchairs.

Always lovely to come for a walk around the woods here. It’s usually very quiet and peaceful. Lots of wildlife to see - from deer and squirrels to green parakeets. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Lovely wooded area with a surprising number of little routes to take in such a small area. Good view from the top on clear days. Easy to park nearby and excellent Welly walk for youngsters

Lovely little trail loop. Perfect place to beat the sun and get some trail running or walking your dog.

Beautiful woods, always love coming here for a "time-out". Great for dog-walkers and families alike. Practically grew up in these woods, but even after 45 years Croham Hurst never ceases to fascinate me...

These are our local woods and one of the reasons we moved to the area. You can spend hours in these woods! They are huge and it caters for whatever your preference of terrain - fancy something flat? No problem stay at the bottom of the Hurst and do a loop. Fancy getting your heart pumping? Run up the steep hill on one side or steps on the other. Fancy arranging a festive hunt for the kids? Not a problem, the woods are big enough so that you can have a dozen stations for them to stop at. This is a very versatile place and you can make it what you want. I would 100% recommend anyone with a dog to go there, our have always loved it!!!

Lovely local woods, I especially recommend going to the top of the stairs (be warned quite steep!) where you can go to the ancient memorial ground, where there are some cracking views.

Great hill walk, some steep paths but all doable. Amazing views from the top and far enough from the main road to let you soak the sun without spoiling the moment. Lots of dog walker. No parking area but quite easy to park on the roads around the wood.

As it stands, the most beautiful woods I've been in. I think I'll make this my woods walk of choice now, with easy parking right outside.

Such a beautiful woodland alongside a golf course. Lots of little turns offs from main path but not enough to get you lost. Dappled sunlight possible due to the variety of trees. Small enough for someone like me with disabilities not to get too tired but not too small as to not discover something new on the next visit.

Great natural oak woods...with signs of ancient burials there. Took a quick winters walk...very refreshing. Will be back to explore more.

Beautiful woods for walking in. Quite steep hills

Visited on a beautiful sunny February afternoon. I locked my bike to a signpost at the entrance (bikes are permitted on the bridle trail only) and hiked a short distance to the top of the 'hurst' - which I didn’t know meant a 'wooded knoll'. The trails approaching the summit traverse a wilder landscape than I expected, but the summit (also known by the evocative name 'Breakneck Hill') is adjoined by a wide flat clearing with a great view to the west,
