Not maintained at all. But sunset looks beautiful across the lake. The boundary wall/ net is broken at many places. Although they have entry tickets but after seeing the area, one will wonder where does the money go. The boats/shikara ride are also not maintained property.

Best place in the town to spend some time with friends. Whether it is a early morning or it is a evening the mesmerising view of sun will fill your heart. But lack of maintenance some side of it fill with water hyacinth(কচুরিপানা) and the other part connect with dirty water probably with the local drains. ● But anyone can say that it's the heart of the town and also there are park, museum as well as restrurants surrounding it.

It needs well maintaining to keep the glory of the place . The water-hyacinth's are covering the whole dam , you can't see water through of it , looks like the field of grasses !

Nothing special. It' s just a lake where local people take morning strolls and chit chat for local young boys and girls. The place is securely fenced and there's a sidewalk around the lake for walking around.

It is a very good place to begin with. But, now a days, most of the time it is covered with water hyacinths (কচুরিপানা) . Local government doesn't care about that. In spite of that, it's the lungs of Purulia town. Scenic view is also good.

The bandh is quite large. There are a few bird species I could spot. This can be a nice birding site. There are boating services available. Water hyacinths have filled parts of the bandh. I feel the municipality should be more aware about its maintainance. But overall it is indeed a nice gift for puruliya.

Saheb Bandh is a 50 acre lake in Purulia, that is known to have been constructed in the mid 19th century. It is said this water body was dug by convicts, at the instigation of Colonel Tikley, during the British Raj. This process was started in the year 1843 and took five years for it to be completed.
