Had a pretty bad experience with their employees and overall customer service several years ago. Never ever going back nor will I recommend this place to others. It may just be my experience, but it was enough to level-set my opinion of McLendon Hardware. I would rather shop at the other home improvement stores that offer Military discounts and a better customer experience. Read through some of the other latest reviews, and it seems that the level of customers service has not changed very much.

Best houseplants around! Good variety of houseplants starting at $1.79, $3.49, $9.99. Cannot believe how often they get shipments seems like every other day there’s a new selection! Very trendy whoever does the ordering knows what they’re customers are looking for, today I got a whole bunch of 3 inch pots of different houseplants clearance at one dollar!!! Always amazing customer service I’m a big fan you should definitely check them out

Went in today and bought some items including a ceramic turtle. It was on a shelf and there were signs stating garden decor was 75%. Found the cute turtle and thought what a great deal till I got to the cashier. It got rang up and was $50, but I was told it wasn't on sale as it is sold all year long. This isn't the first time I've bought something thinking it was on sale and it wasn't. They should make sure their signage is properly placed with proper description for sale items. Very disappointed in the customer service.

I do not recommend renting any kind of Uhaul here. We reserved a Uhaul, utility dolly, & blankets via the app. We get the van & it has no dolly or blankets. We notified them that we need our dolly & blankets, but because they are only a "distributor" & not an actual store they said they did not have dollies or blankets...I pointed out to them that we saw a Uhaul dolly by the register & we took that, but still no blankets. Things like that shouldn't be an option on the app if you cannot guarantee them. People are trying to move & that's stressful enough. We were also not notified that there was no drop box for keys. We sent a direct message to the store letting them know we were on the way. We were there less than ten minutes after they closed as an associate stood at the door & waited for us to walk up to tell us they were closed. We let him know we already paid, took photos, & got everything set on the app & if he can just take the key, but he refused. His customer service blows. We've both worked customer service for years & many times have ran into similar situations & would take care of the customer anyway whether it's after hours or not because we know we represent our store. All he had to do was take a key...just ridiculous. I'll never come here again for anything.

I think his name was Kevin in plumbing he was so helpful and identified my internals of my toilet instantly from a picture. He knows his stuff. Went back and fixed my leaking toilet following his directions and no more running toiled every hour throughout the night. We need more people and customer service like him. It's such a rare thing anymore. He saved me time money, and I fixed it myself. What more can you ask for? Thanks so much for the knowledgeable staff and recommendation.

This is the second time I’ve been here with a super good experience I forgot to share the first one from a while ago with a lady named MaryJo, that helped me pick out gardening stuff. Tonight I went in there and a guy by the name of Mike helped me. He recommended these two products, saying they worked for him, like overnight and they’re safe. I like it! I can’t stand the smell of red wine vinegar. I also like that even if there was self checkout (cuz I’m not even positive if they have it) but that there’s still a cashier available all the way til closing! (Unlike Safeway) 😤 also everyone seems very friendly

I go here a lot as they have things that the other hardware stores don't have. There have been more than a few times where Home Depot or Lowe's didn't have what I was looking for, so I go to McLendon's, and they have it. I would go there first if it was closer, but I always expect I will be going there at some time during my project. Plus the service is great and you can usually find somebody to help if you need to!

Last Thursday, the staff were great, awesome, wonderful, and very helpful as it was my first time being there. I needed my window screens to be replaced and each staff member I spoke with were on top of things providing the best customer care on could experience. Those ladies deserve a 5-star review. It is unfortunate, that I had to call today to ask about my window screens. The guy in the lumbar department provided the worst customer service one could experience. He took forever to assist me with finding out when I could pick up my screens leaving the phone on the counter as I could hear every thing near by. When he came back to the phone, he tells me that he finally found my screens and that one of them was broken beyond repairable. I explained I needed my screens immediately before an expectation was to occur and that I did not want to be fined by the HOA for missing screens and/or torn screens. He then tells me that the metal frame was broken and that it was beyond repairable and that I would need to come in and pay the difference to buy a new screen. He went on to tell me that he was the only one who does the replacements and fixing and that that job was secondary as he is the only one in the lumbar department and that all lumbar orders and weekend orders would be handled first before screen fixes. Then tells me that it’s too bad if I get fined as they will take my deposit. He assumed I am a renter. I AM A HOME OWNER. As he kept talking, I became irritated and hung up on him. Later, he called saying he had time and went on to fix my screens at no additional charge as he previously stated that it would cost more to replace the whole screen and that I could pick them up. When I went into the store, all the cashiers were cold, distant, and did not even greet me or other customers that walked in. As I walked to the back, the guy waved asking if I was me. I said “yeah” and he stated he knew I was me by my voice. He handed me the screens and seen that the frame was NOT broken despite him saying it was broken and I needed to pay more. Today was the one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered.

Would be higher if I didn't hear an employee that was carrying a ladder ridicul a customer because the customer asked him a question. He said in a condescending low voice "you don't ask someone carrying a ladder to stop and answer a question. You can wait." I'm sorry, it's very easy to stop and put the ladder down to help a customer.

The two gentlemen at the plumbing desk fixed me right up! I went to Home Depot and was told, "we don't sell those here". I went to Ace hardware, and the associate tried to help bless their heart. I went to McClendon's and these two old timers helped me fix a known problem throughout society I had never heard of. I couldn't be more thankful except to write a rare 5 star review. Thanks mates!
