I went here hoping to get information on resizing a ring or maybe doing a new custom band for my engagement ring. I decided to drive after I tried calling and no one answered. I sought this business out because of their ethical sourcing. I was willing to pay quite a bit. Right away when I asked about ring resizing and showed them my ring I felt as though I was judged and snubbed. They recommended I leave and go to another business. I asked if they could help size me they did and then commented on how thin my band was. I asked about a different bands and they said “I don’t really understand what you mean but why don’t you look at some of our other rings” and directed me towards costume jewelry while they helped two other customers find earrings for a bridal party. I left here feeling like I wasn’t good enough for their time. Not a great experience :(

We worked to design a wedding ring based off of one of their existing designs. Their team listened and supported us, all with expertise and thoughtfulness. Betsy & Iya's shop in NW Portland is a terrific location for beautiful moderno jewlery and clothing. They have a shop on site that crafts bespoke jewlery pieces. They just handed me a pendant with chain and a brooch that Betsy, Barrie, and the shop team brought to fruition from a sketch of mine with absolutely stunning results. Working with them was a joy. This shop is an ornament of my corner of PDX, and the staff that operates there is the best - !

I am absolutely over the moon at the experience I had working with Betsy & Iya!! Not only did we work to do a custom wedding + engagement ring stack, but I’ve also purchased necklaces, earrings, and a dress at their store. After having a not-so-positive experience at another jeweler, Betsy and Barrie made us feel so heard, and created a design that ultimately blew us out of the water. Working with Barrie at Betsy & Iya on my custom wedding ring was an absolute breeze. At one point I think I told her, "This is a lot of fun!" I've been a BIG fan of Betsy & Iya for years now, and I finally got to work with their team on a custom project. They gave new life to my grandmother's ring I inherited. We went through many design rounds trying to incorporate all of the stones, and when I still wasn't fully clicking with how it was all coming together, they scratched the previous designs, started "over", and NAILED it the final go around. I share that experience, because they were SO patient with me, and were supportive of my ideas. I hope to work with them on another custom project in my future!

B&I not only creates exceptionally unique pieces, they also source from some of the most wonderful makers! I cherish every items I have selected from their shop over the years (upwards of 12?!) and I receive compliments on them - without fail! While I no longer live in PDX, I still order from B&I's online store and items always arrive with a personal touch - a continuous reminder that they are my favorite shop for beautifully crafted items - bar none!

My fiancé and I could not be happier with the experience we had with Betsy & Iya. We got custom engagement rings designed and created, and the rings are stunning and so well coordinated to go with each other. I was nervous about the design process because I felt like I didn’t know exactly what I wanted (I’m not a very visually creative person), but Betsy managed to create 3 designs that each spoke to me and I ended up with a combination of 2 of them.
