There are many boat trips across to Marothonosi, also known as Turtle Island as it is shaped like a turtle. The trips are every 30 minutes from May going from Laganas. The island is beautiful with a little beach and crystal clear water. The sea is full of fish so ideal for snorkeling. On the way to the island out boat joined about 8 others circling a lone turtle to allow tourists to take photos. There were far too many boats there and they were too close to the loggerhead turtle, which is a WWF protected species. The poor creature must have been terrified.

Ive been around. But this place is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. Pictures dont do it justice. During midday the sun lights up the water making the cave glow bright blue. Incredible!

Very beautiful island that resembles a turtle, even called the "Turtle island". Crystal clear warm water.

We chartered a yacht out to this point in the island, incredible swimming, and the turquoise water is impressive every single time - any tour or private cruise to this point is worth doing

I didn't see the turtles, so I have a good reason to return another time. It's stunning. Can be reached by rented boats which have the only downside that are hard to "park".

You have to take the speedboat option if you want to see them close up. The captain said some of them are dangerous and he didn't enter. We entered 4 or 5. Nice experience overall.

Absolutely beautiful. Clear turquoise water, perfect to swim and snorkel in. We arrived here on a turtle boat tour which included swim stops (away from the turtles).

We visited the caves on an excursion with our travel provider. The caves are beautiful. We'll worth a visit.

Very beautiful and small caves. Any taxi from Cameo Island or Lagans Beach can take you there to see them and later drop you at CaretaCareta-Maratonisi Island for a day of fine beach swimming. Just carry an umbrella - you'll need it. There is no shadow on that small island. Caves are very blue and beautiful.

Nice area to explore the caves. They are so big. You can also drive into them with a small boat

this is actually an island of turtles so there are places that are protected and are not to be reach by tourists. Nature here is really nice and if you are lucky you’ll see turtles. swimming here is allowed and from the distance this island looks like a turtle. don’t be shocked because there are always boats here waiting for the tourists to bring them back to the shore. It is also only reachable with a boat.

Two caves with a small beach. Caves can be accessed from the beach itself.

Great place with beautiful blue water. A great place to go with a small boat. Best to see it when sun is shining on the caves for the best blue water possible. There were many ca es scattered around the coastline. So just pick a free parking spot and make your way towards them with a trip boat or your own boat.

👍 Very beautiful place but I wouldn't recommend it for a peaceful swimming, at least not when the weather is windy because the waves get pretty big. You have sunbeds right next to the sea.

👍👍 Beautiful beach worth exploring. Parking is available depending how early / late you arrive. Many steps down to the beach. Deckchairs and umbrellas can be rented from bar up too for €15 (remember to pay before you climb down) No toilets on beach. There is a beach bar. Water is clear and warm and man...
