A great experience in experiencing the world of ancient Greece. We found the outdoor area to be interesting to see, but we thought the museum offered a more educational and thought provoking experience. On the very warm day that we visited the museum's air conditioning was a welcome respite. The tram from Katakalon was efficient and inexpensive.

The Stadium is the actual place where the athletes competed during the Ancient Olympic Games, starting more than 2700 years ago. Challenge yourself with a long run on the stadium or imagine yourself cheering (gentlemen) or lighting the Olympic flame (ladies). Beware of the heat! Even in early June, the stadium was baking hot, more than 35 degrees Celsius.

The biggest ancient Greek stadium. The tradition has it that Hercules was the one who constructed it and first competed in the Olympics. Just amazing!

Marvellous historical place. Felt the atmosphere brought to life by our guide, who's passion for her subject was clear. Made our holiday. We need to come back if the Temple of Zeus is ever rebuilt in our lifetime

Amazing to know that sports activities were held here dedicated to the god Zeus in the past. The stadium can accommodate 20,000 spectators. Worth a visit to appreciate the history

Quiet once, but now like a busy shopping mall. I hope we can go back to ancient times, because it's such an amazing and beautiful place. I was there also in 2005 and because of the quietness then, it was an unforgettable experience

It's worth the visit given the history of the Ancient Olympic games of 776 BC. Lots to learn and appreciate where today's Olympics came from!! You can walk on your own or have a guided tour which is especially informative. Listen to the thoughts of the Ancient Gods and learn all about the athletes and winners of the Ancient games.

The site is amazing in scope, the signage is well done and gives the visitor context of what is seen. The museum is excellent and well worth the visit.

This site is well worth a visit with extensive, well preserved ruins, good museums and the chance to run in the stadium itself. It can get pretty hot in July, but there are trees planted around the site to provide some shade

Not worth the money. It used to be free to go to this place there is not much to see. I am really shocked to see how the Greek government can charge an admission for rocks and grass. It has been 16 years since my last visit I do not see any progress in constructing the missing pieces and adding more money for the preservation and educational content of this once magnificent stadium.

I am so glad I got to see this amazing ancient stadium on our tour through Princess Cruises. This is a must see it's amazing the architecture and the sheer size of this ancient Olympic stadium. The stadium is designed to hold 45k but much more primitive than stadiums today. This stadium had a dirt surface and marble start and finish blocks. Seating consisted of sloped grass hills on the sides for the attendees to sit and watch the games. Walking through the arched entrance to the ancient stadium is amazing and you almost feel like your back in day of the games.

The sheer history of this place is amazing. The stadium is a simple but moving area. It is flat and you can step were athletes once competed. The grassy banks that flank the stadium are easy to negotiate and give a grand view. There are steps at the entry arch.

We had a great time visiting the stadium at Olympia. Our rtoir guide was very informative with the history details of the historical venue. Just entering the stadium I felt a sense of majesty flowing. It's not hard to imagine what intense sporting events occurred here in ancient times. Great experience.

Standing on the grounds where the first games took place, you can just imagine what it would have been like all those thousands of years ago. You can take a walk, jog or run the track or simply just admire the view, although there's not a lot to see in this part, but just appreciate it for what it was and for what remains today.

Great historical site with lots of walking. Restrooms are a long distance apart (but are free). Walkways are rough, be careful. Several areas of walkway fill with water if it is raining.

Not a lot left of the actual stadium but the original starting line is still there. The whole archeological site of Olympia is incredible and should not be missed. Highly recommend. (Take bottled water as it can get very hot and there's nowhere inside the site to get water). The town of Olympia is a nice place to stay too.

Can imagine the Incredible architecture, greatness and glory of the Acropolis. If you slowly read and walk through.... you can almost transform yourself back in time and see the life...

A legendary stadium that was built the early years of 5th century BC and its capacity is 50.000. It is connected to the holy area through a stone arcade. The last ancient Olympic Games took place at 393 AC and it was used for Shot put sport during the Olympic Games on 2004 in Athens. The stadium is made of soil. A must see place!

The rest of Olympia is really interesting, and I was really looking forward to seeing the Olympic Stadium. I should have done research before because I was expecting something like the stadium of Delphi, but this one was only grass and a few stones to mark the finish line and edges of the stadium.

Those who listen carefully can realize the real Olympic flame, and those who jog around the stadium in August can even feel it. The magic of the place is omnipresent, try to find a day with not too many people to visit this place.

It is incredible to think that the original Olympics actually began in this very area in 776BC!!!
