I
visited
Zante
earlier
this
month.
I
knew
the
season
was
coming
to
an
end
but
was
intent
on
getting
some
diving
in
anyway.
Through
no
fault
of
their
own.
The
weather
closed
in
the
day
after
I
arrived.
High
winds
kept
all
the
boats
out
of
the
water
for
a
few
days
and
no
one
was
going
anywhere.
Luckily,
these
guys
contact
number
was
linked
on
WhatsApp.
The
weather
had
cleared
overnight
so
I
sent
them
a
message
early
in
the
morning.
I
was
impressed
when
I
got
a
reply
back
soon
later
telling
me
to
be
at
the
dive
centre
later
that
morning.
There
was
a
bit
of
faff
getting
things
sorted.
But
that’s
to
be
expected
having
been
out
of
the
water
and
all
diving
ceased
for
a
number
of
days.
Paperwork
was
soon
completed
and
we
were
getting
kit
issued.
I
had
only
brought
half
my
own
kit
with
me
and
as
such
only
used
a
BCD
and
wetsuit
from
their
stock.
They
dive
with
steel
tanks
in
a
choice
of
sizes,
had
a
din
to
yolk
adapter
in
their
stock
also.
The
BCD
was
CRESSI
and
very
good
condition.
The
5mm
wetsuit
had
seen
better
days
and
was
worn
through
on
the
knees.
From
what
I
could
see
of
the
others.
There
did
not
seem
to
be
any
issues
with
the
kit
they
were
issued
either.
Getting
loaded
onto
the
boat
required
walking
out
to
it
in
shallow
water
carrying
all
your
kit
with
you.
Not
the
easiest
thing
to
accomplish.
But
that
said.
If
you
can’t
carry
your
kit.
You
shouldn’t
be
diving.
The
boat
itself
is
comfortable,
clean
and
well
kitted
for
diving.
It
was
a
short
15
minute
run
out
to
the
dive
site.
We
were
to
dive
Octopus
Reef.
Upon
arrival
we
were
soon
moored
to
the
buoy
and
going
through
our
dive
briefing.
Was
short
and
to
the
point.
Having
been
told
to
expect
poor
vis.
A
quick
glance
over
the
side
soon
dispelled
this,
I
could
see
the
bottom
quite
clearly.
Given
the
weather
of
the
past
few
days.
We
were
all
surprised
and
impressed.
We
were
soon
in
the
water
and
descending,
quick
round
of
hand
signals
and
were
off.
Was
a
pleasant
drift
down
the
wall.
Vis
was
20m
plus
and
water
temperature
of
25
deg
C.
Those
of
us
that
were
qualified
to
reached
a
depth
of
30m.
Fair
amount
of
fish
a
fauna
to
be
seen.
On
the
loop
back
round
we
swam
against
the
current.
Was
quite
an
labour
intensive
swim
back,
but
was
enjoyable
none
the
less.
Usual
safety
stop
before
surfacing.
Soon
after
getting
back
on
the
boat
we
were
heading
back
to
shore.
Given
the
time
it
took
for
us
to
get
ready
etc.
We
had
elected
to
only
do
the
one
dive.
Due
to
my
flight
schedule
that
was
enough
for
me
anyway.
I
had
wanted
to
get
a
full
four
days
in
and
only
managed
the
one
dive.
But
that’s
how
it
works
out
sometimes.
Cost
for
my
dive
all
in
was
45
Euro.
Can’t
complain
about
that.
Dive
site
was
nice,
the
crew
and
guides
were
safety
conscious
and
the
equipment
was
all
well
maintained
and
usable.
Should
I
return,
I
would
dive
with
them
again.
