Very impressive Greek Orthodox monastery by the edge of a cliff. There is a holy cave and numerous rare and valuable objects like paintings, books, flags etc. It is one of the most important religion places in Greece. Highly recommended. You will definitely enjoy the visit.

The Mega Spileon monastery was serene and quiet. If you are travelling through this area, it is worth stopping because this location has a very rich history. Inside, you'll find an icon of Mary and Jesus that was discovered in the cave around which this monastery built a church. Please keep in mind that there is a semi-strict dress code in place if you wish to enter the sanctuary.

A must see. Well worth the 20 minute side trip off the national highway. See the cave with the natural spring from inside and all the church artifacts throughout the ages for €2. Limited parking available part way up the drive or across the street where some restaurants are located. Give yourself an hour to tour the site.

The mega Spileon monastery was very peaceful and secluded. It was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and to reflect on one's faith. The monks were very welcoming and hospitable, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and spiritual retreat.

Very nice monastery with a very tragic story. The priests I’ve met was one of the best persons I ever encountered. If you have children, make them shut up, respect this place please.

Well maintained with an interesting little museum inside. The sacred cave was also beautiful and gave off a serenity vibe

Wonderful place. I did bot know the history and was pleasantly surprised. The small manuscript museum with hand written books from the 8th century adds to the visit!

A beautiful monastery hidden deep in Mount Chelmos, very close to Kalavryta and Zachlorou. One of the oldest monasteries you can find. A must stop destination with amazing view, unbelievable artworks from byzantine period and long history. It is easily accesible and you will not regret your visit in this place!

Authentic, huge and picturesque monastery tucked under a rock overhang. Museum inside displays many original religious artifacts, the cave behind the monastery is huge and there is a spring that is supposed to have healing powers. Saint George killed the dragon here according to the legend.

The church is being repaired or renovated and you can't get to the icon of the Virgin Mother but it is still worth the time to visit and see the museum and the exterior. DO NOT TRUST THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE MAP APP. It leads to a dead end road along a very narrow and dangerous road.

Beautiful monastery built in the cave. It has small orthodox christian museum as well. Good to visit if you are heading to kalavryta.

Unless you're a committed Christian this for me, wasn't the most exciting place to visit. This former Monastery was Impressively built on to the side of a mountain by two brothers. A shepherd girl is then said to have found an icon of The Virgin Mary in one of its caves.

Nice view, if you have time make a stop. There is also a small cave behind the building.

The building and location is amazing. Bomd villain lair in the mountains. Cave is quite something, didn't necessarily feel the miracle.. Interesting display of the icon being found and the devil being poked with a stick.

Very unique and beautiful place. Monastery on its own is a beautiful place but cave behind it make it even more special.

Off the beaten track to be sure. Monastery which contains only four monks one of whom we encountered. Truly remarkable history enjoyed it every minute.
