One
of
the
architectural
masterpieces
of
the
Ilkhanate,
the
tombs
of
the
green
dome,
which
is
12-sided
from
the
outside
and
8-sided
from
the
inside
According
to
the
inscriptions
in
the
historical
complex
of
Sabz
Dome
tombs,
these
buildings
were
built
in
the
8th
century
AH
as
a
tomb
and
burial
place
for
the
Safi
family,
one
of
the
rulers
of
Qom.
However,
according
to
the
belief
of
the
people
of
Qom
province,
these
three
tombs
belong
to
three
Ash'ari
Arab
elders
who
revived
the
city
of
Qom
in
the
Islamic
era.
They
consider
the
owners
of
these
tombs
to
be
Saad,
Saeed
and
Masoud;
But
this
issue
is
not
true
considering
the
history
of
tomb
towers
in
different
regions
of
Iran
as
well
as
the
history
of
Qom
city.
In
general,
according
to
the
inscriptions
engraved
in
the
historical
inscriptions
of
this
collection,
the
tombs
of
Gonbad
Sabz
can
be
considered
as
the
burial
places
of
Khwaja
Asiluddin
and
Khwaja
Ali
Safi;
The
other
person,
unfortunately,
remains
unidentified
due
to
the
loss
of
the
inscription
on
the
third
dome;
Of
course,
according
to
historical
writings,
it
seems
that
some
other
Safi
family
are
buried
at
the
bottom
of
the
Green
Dome.
The
three
northern
domes
of
the
Green
Dome
garden
complex
belong
to
the
late
8th
and
early
9th
centuries.
The
southern
dome
is
considered
to
be
the
burial
place
of
Khwaja
Asiluddin
and
two
other
rulers
of
the
Safi
dynasty
who
died
in
761
AH.
The
date
of
the
construction
of
the
central
dome,
the
tomb
of
Khwaja
Ali
Safi
and
the
tombs
of
three
of
the
rulers
of
the
Safi
dynasty
are
considered
to
be
792
AH.
