Jamkaran Mosque is very beautiful mosque which is visited by millions Shiites around the world, every year. It remain busy through out the year. Different events are held in this mosque on important Islamic dates. Like other Mosques in Iran, interior of this mosque is also eye catching. Peaceful & calm atmosphere prevails here. It's open for every one including non muslims.

This is one of the greatest must see religious and historic places in Iran and in the world. It is frequented by Imam Zaman (as) himself and stays open 24/7. It is fully accessible by a wheelchair and wheelchairs can also be rented here. It features numerous book stores, stores with traditional Persian goods, toy stores, clothing stores, fruits and vegetables markets, groceries, restaurants, atm, picnic areas and parking lots. Taxi and local bus services that connect to a long distance public transit are available. The International Airport is about one hour away by a car. Numerous hotels and other accommodations are available throughout Qom.

The mosque, six kilometers east of Qom, has long been a sacred place, at least since 373 A.H., 17th of Ramadan (22 February 984 C.E.), when one Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani is reported to have met Imam Mahdi along with the prophet Khizr. Jamkarani was instructed that the land they were on was "noble" and that the owner — Hasan bin Muslim — was to cease cultivating it and finance the building of a mosque on it from the earnings he had accumulated from farming the land. Sometime in the decade of 1995-2005, the mosque's reputation spread, and many pilgrims, particularly young people, began to come to it. In the rear of the mosque, there is a "well of requests" where it is believed the Twelfth Imam once "became miraculously unhidden for a brief shining moment of loving communion with his Creator." Tuesday night is especially popular as it is said to be "the day the vision appeared and therefore the day of the week that [the Imam], although invisible, takes requests." The mountain whee Hazrat Khizr used to dwell is visible from Masjid Jamkran. The large / grand Bazar is situated just opposite to main gate of Masjid Jamkran.

SL.NO.9 Jamkaran Mosque Mosque in Jamkaran Iran 🇮🇷 The mosque, six kilometers east of Qom, has long been a sacred place, at least since 373 A.H., 17th of Ramadan (22 February 984 C.E.), when according to the mosque website, one Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani is reported to have met Muhammad al-Mahdi along with the prophet Al-Khidr. In the rear of the mosque, there is a "well of requests" where it is believed the Twelfth Imam once "became miraculously unhidden for a brief shining moment of loving communion with his Creator." Pilgrims tie small strings in a knot around the grids covering the holy well, which they hope will be received by the Imam Mahdi. Every morning custodians cut off the strings from the previous day. Tuesday night is especially popular as it is said to be "the day the vision appeared and therefore the day of the week that [the Imam], although invisible, takes requests." The gathering "resembles a huge tailgate party where vendors set up in the parking lots and families set up picnic rugs and tens of thousands wander about the grounds as if waiting for the main event to happen. More than a hundred thousand pilgrims sometimes pray outside the overflowing mosque for Maghrib prayer. In keeping with separation of the sexes, women are separated from men in their own special cordoned-off area and also have their own well. Also on Tuesdays, the mosque kitchen provides a free evening meal to thousands of poor people. One of the first acts of the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was to donate £10 million to the mosque, to fund plans to turn "the normal-sized Jamkaran mosque into a massive complex of prayer halls, minarets, car parks and ablutions." In recent years, overseers of the Jamkaran compound have become sensitive to its foreign images and have restricted foreign press from the main mosque and well. Conclusion: Iran is a good place for tourists, 90% of the people use English and Hindi in additional as their languages. There are so many places to see. Delicious Indian and international food is available. Visit once with your families. The lodge and boarding available depends on your budget. Have a nice day. With best regards 💕

Jamkaran Mosque, an important mosque in Iran, is located in the suburb of Qom. Its name was mentioned in the ancient historical sources of the city, with details about building the mosque, the desire for it, and performing special rak’ahs by order of Imam Al-Mahdi (peace be upon him), half a century after the end of the Minor Occultation.

Even for the foreigners hejab (chadar) is obligatory while it is super uncomfortable for those who are not used to it. My 10 ten yrmears old daughter hated wearing that big piece of clothes!
