This place could benefit from more energetic staff. During my visit, I had to repeat my beer order multiple times. The staff's attentiveness could use improvement.

I was reading the reviews, and the response is generally to those with 5 stars, imagine the owners dont care for people who are giving you a reason to correct what's not right. I was looking for a room for my family for some time, but not with these guys, who are not bothered for their customers problems.

This review is for the tavern motel only. The Good: Good location and easy to access. Plenty of parking. The staff in the tavern were pleasant and helpful even though we checked in quite late. The bed was very comfortable. The Bad: The quick and cheap renovation has not brought the rooms up to a reasonable level even for this price point. The furniture is old and tired, with doors slipping off hinges etc. The curtains do not fully close at the side... good for peeping Toms, not great for ladies who want safety & privacy. The shower water is totally erratic, the (sometimes) hot water just does whatever it wants. Sink is too small to get the kettle under the tap. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Really? The Ugly: The towel rail was so loose it fell off the wall as soon as I hung a towel on it. The toilet bowl was broken. (See pic). Shower had no curtain, and old damaged taps and tiles. Power point with no cover. Disgusting toilet brush. Broken ceiling around smoke detector. It seems obvious that the owners of the motel have absolutely no respect for guests here. There is no excuse for this many issues. This place is a disgrace.

Great pub! Awesome food. Playground for kids too. Note on Smoking 🚬 Only disappointing thing is there are always people smoking in the beer garden even though it’s non smoking. Even right next to the live musicians, forcing them to work in a smoking zone is inhumane as their lungs and vocal chords will be affected by second hand smoke. Please enforce non smoking zones. Especially around the playground and family zone. The smokers should be contained somewhere rather than allowed to smoke anywhere they want, especially not right next to non smoking food or playground areas. I’m happy to shift this to a 5 star review when they make some changes to the placement of the smoking areas. Until then it is a 3 star pub.

Being a local for many years, I had great expectations for this remake of the old Comb and Cutter pub. I was not disappointed, the inside of the new pub is excellent, the food was the same, the only issue for us was the infiltration of secondhand smoke from outside into the dining area, we requested the doors be shut and the staff immediately complied, the only trouble was that the doors were in constant use, so consequently smoke was continually drifting through. I am very sorry that this pub is not up to standard re clean air as it is within walking distance and would have been very convenient, never mind, the owners might just work it out!

All the ladies behind the counter and bar are lovely, especially kylie always has a smile. Your barman is awesome too always friendly and asking how you are Only downside when not drinking alcoholic beverages is the lack of tea options. Definitely recommend some herbal teas on the menu for the non alcoholic drinkers

Hadn't visited in years. It was a nice surprise to see that it had been done up and renovated. The food was absolutely beautiful. The service was great. Live music was good, too. All round good experience.

Not a safe place to stay. I booked it online for 3 days and I got a room with broken windows. When I asked manager to change the room, they replied no other room available. I asked for refund and The Manager said they will not refund all money and keep one day deposit. Moreover it took me 3 months to get my my back. Pathetic service by staff.

Newly renovated, very popular and family-oriented tavern. We tried the 200g steak, chips & salad and compliments to the chef... It was the best we've had for a long time. Very close to Westpoint Blackpoint but far enough away to have heaps of parking.

Room clean but very basic. Bed comfy. Food in tavern quick and tasty. Staff friendly and helpful Given hair-dryer on request - non in room. More tea and milk on request- not topped up for 2nd night. No shower curtain. Sink too small to fill kettle Outside light on all night so room not very dark for sleeping. Towel rail almost falling out of wall.

Stayed here on 17 August 2022. My experience from check in to check was nothing short of excellent. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Only complaint was there was coffee and tea but no teaspoon in the room so not a big issue. Bistro staff were very friendly and the food was nice. Bar staff were very professional in their dealings. If you are looking for an inexpensive night away this the place to visit

Food was good quality and fresh. Clean amenities and good variety of drinks. Large indoor and outdoor areas with live music while I was there. Awesome kids play area. Recommend this venue.

Great pub to take your entire family for lunch and dinner, or any celebrations or private function, from Birthdays or a sports club get together. Or catching up with friends. From the great menus at the bistro. And big alfresco area for any celebration. We are very grateful to have Blacktown Tavern in our Blacktown area. Plus their support local footy club. Include the amazing stuff. Thank you for amazing customer services Blacktown Tavern. Keep up the great work in the Community. Thank You Kam Schmidt

Food is average, sorry. Sunday roast, it wasn't the normal sunday roast you would expect. beef with chips and potato salad. It was a lot of potato to eat. Sent an email to Patrick 8th May, no response.

I came here for the first time because my kids were interested in the school holiday gymnastics session and they weren’t disappointed! We ended up returning for the next session too because they loved it so much. Thank you Heidi and Kylie, they had an absolute blast and were so excited telling me about everything they had done. I had lunch while I waited and the food was great too!

Very convenient if you're trying to get to Westpoint (Blacktown Shopping Centre). Rooms are very spartan, and appear to have been recently refurbished. Room I was in had no screen on the bathroom window, nor an exhaust fan, so bear this in mind as it may be similar for other rooms (and may require you to close the window before going to bed, open it before showering). In-room split system, large bed with medium-soft level of firmness and decent quilts. As this is part of the tavern, go to the bar to get your room key.

My husband and I stayed the night in room number 6. Clean and tidy except the bathroom. There is mould on the tiles in the shower and shower curtain. I wore thongs when I showered. All you need is to clean them properly with either bleach or toilet cleaner which has bleach in it, even buy some tiling grout 🤷‍♀️ and buy a new shower curtain. Bed linen was clean and mattress comfy

Outside bistro area amazing. Lots of space and airy and large sports screens. Kids playground and arcade great for kids. But the food NEEDS to improve was just a bit under average. Coleslaw too creamy tasteless, seafood pasta small and so were mussels, aioli not nice. BT burger pattie good size but flavourless and burnt needed a tastier sauce. Desserts carrot cake nice BUT the banana cake is worst we’ve tasted anywhere too dry you should get from another supplier. Our coffees were served in takeaway cups and apparently no mugs. Once you’ve changed your chefs and suppliers should get people coming back but for now, no. Try Marayong Hotel menu. The maturer ladies today had excellent customer service despite what menu they had to deal with.

We hosted my late mother's wake at the Blacktown Tavern's function room. The staff took care of our family and guests with such care, attentiveness and compassion. The wake menu and pizzas were great. Thank you to Patrick, Chris, Rochelle and the crew for your wonderful work in making this difficult time for us a little easier. Our guests were extremely happy with your service and venue. The function room was set up as per our requests and you did not hesitate to assist us with the technical hurdles with the AV equipment for the slideshow we had prepared of our beautiful mother. The celebration of her life was truly special. Thank you! P.S. My brother and father also send their love and appreciation. We will be back.

I recently held an event at Blacktown Tavern on the 11th of August and it exceeded all expectations. From the start, Donna, the event manager, showed remarkable flexibility and accommodation. Despite originally booking for 60 people, we had an unexpected turnout of around 100 visitors. Donna and her team, including Kiana, Charlotte, and Patrick, handled the situation seamlessly, ensuring that every guest felt attended to. Donna and her team's commitment was truly commendable. They went above and beyond, making sure that there was ample food for everyone and even opening a tab for us, allowing our guests to order freely. Their efforts turned what could have been a stressful situation into a smoothly orchestrated event. I can't thank Donna and her team enough for their outstanding dedication and hard work. They turned a somber occasion into a memorable and heartfelt gathering that honored my father's memory. Every detail was taken care of, and their assistance during this difficult time meant the world to us. Their exceptional service truly deserves five stars and our heartfelt gratitude.

The accommodation itself is very good. However, I booked the king room on 11th June for 1st July at the rate of $155. I arrived yesterday, checked in and went to the room - a smaller double room. When I returned to the check in desk, the licensee told me the room had been reallocated to another party that had been there for 5 days already. There are a number of issues here: - I booked the king room on the Tavern's own web site, direct, 3 weeks in advance. - Somebody at the tavern decided to give my booking to another party, and did not even have the courtesy to contact me. - The Tavern checked me into the smaller double room and processed the full $155. The double room costs $125. They still did not have the honesty to mention the downgrade. - The licensee only refunded the $30 cost difference after I actually saw the room and questioned the accommodation. Dear Blacktown Tavern, how about using common courtesy and business honesty?

Great, affordable meals. Outside dining area with live music. Daily specials, and an indoor play area for the kids. Fantastic place for the family to enjoy dinner. Kids get ice cream with kids' meals. We spend about $120.00 for 6 of us, including entrees.

The layout has changed since I came last. The pokies room is smaller and more compact. Would get crowded if full. The sports bar is more open and customer friendly

Pretty bad service, left us hanging with no hot water. Called at 9:30am to complain there was no hot water. They said they will fix it. Without them getting back to us, called them again about 40mins after, they said “there is hot water, just leave it running between 15-20mins.” Called them again after 30mins of running no hot water, they said they will check it out and one of the housekeeping will give us access to another room. Housekeeping didn’t give us access until we came up to them. We were waiting for another 40mins to go into another room. When we got there, it was only cold water. We finally found another room with hot water after being in our room for 2 hrs which we had wasted and couldn’t even tried their breakfast. Throughout our whole stay, we have had no hot water. The following day, we had to use the staff bathroom and now that we checking out early hours tomorrow, they are really no help at all that they won’t give us access to the staff bathroom or another room. This was so not worth my stay. It is a reap off paying to sleep their with cold showers, bathroom door jams, tv remote is not the correct remote for the tv and no remote for aircon. I may not complain too much about the other things but it’s mainly having cold shower which they should be giving a full refund for our entire stay.

Room was clean and staff were awesome. 2 stars because the entry door to the room had no weather stripping at the bottom and had a good 2-3cm gap. Bathroom window smashed up the top, whole strip missing, holes in the walls. Because of these holes I was freezing even with the heater going ALL night.

The renovation has made this a more family friendly location. The staff are lovely. The food was delicious, the steak was cooked medium rare like I like it. Reasonably priced as well. It was a slight shame that the restrooms are not air-conditioned for a 33° day and the change table doesn't have enough bench space for changing a nappy.

The accommodation at this place is absolutely horrible. The door to the bathroom jams and I have been stuck on both the inside and the outside of the door. The air con remote won’t work because the batteries are dead and makes a horrible noise at least once and hour overnight in either my room or the next. Wifi keeps disconnecting and shower goes cold after 2 minutes. Just a few of the serious issues with this accommodation. I would have been better off pitching a tent in the next door neighbour’s back yard and asking if I could borrow their loo cos that’s pretty much what I had to do. I’m traumatized by my stay and this disgusting place.

Nice newly renovated place. Really nice interior and kids area. Food was really bice and beers cold. Good servings of great steaks, parmis and mixed share plates of pork and beef ribs with pork sausages and medium cooked steak

Chose this Tavern as closest to our work for 2 days with a fair priced tariff. Impressed with the new rooms with nice beds and all new fittings. Dined twice with excellent meals and service. Only complaint is smoking allowed in pokies room. We would have stayed longer but the smell was choking. I understand it can work both ways as it may be in their favour. Otherwise keep up the good work :)

  • 5/5 Darren M. 1 year ago on Google
Staff just so accommodating and efficient. Great that they have the pub where you can get a drink and food next door. Only drawback was no stirrer to use for making coffee and although the refurbished rooms are amazing they don’t change the shower curtain after each guest and was a bit slimy at the bottom. Housekeeping need to keep the new rooms clean. Scum building up at the bottom of the tiles in the shower. But would definitely stay again

The worst food I have had for a while or maybe ever. Meatlovets pizza tasted like tandoori chicken or something, inedible disgusting. No Easter wanted to know about it. They used to have good pizzas here years ago, since it's been done up its lost its atmosphere

  • 5/5 Cheryl W. 1 year ago on Google

Poor room, furniture falling apart, no remote for TV, bed not made correctly. Ni bed side table. Open packets of tea stuffed into a container. Hot water took for ever to get hot no connection to wifi. If desperate it is ok and bed was comfortable.

4.0: ordered chicken Schnitty parmigiana and steak with mash and veggies. The park I was so nice. The steak wasn’t that bad. They were hosting a game the night we went. Ambience was alright. They could use an upgrade.

Nice place to have a feed and let's the kids have a play. Separate pokies / tab from the dining area and they usually have an outdoor musician on weekends

Rooms were comfy & clean. Price was very good. Parking outside room. Dinner was a little pricey from restaurant for what was served up. Had snitzel chips & salad with the salad being a coleslaw & the snitzel being a bit small
