Dirty and stinky hostel. We didn’t feel safe there. Pay few euros more and go to a better one!! Sorry hostel Up, but you need to do some cleaning and put up some rules.

It’s a great hostel in center of Valencia, right inside the train station and with a very convenient location. The rooms are clean and the curtains from the bed help with the privacy. The only inconvenience is that in the bathroom there are no hangers/place to put your things and you need to take your phone with you to be able to open the door again when you come back. Breakfast is great with croissants, biscuits, cereals, orange juice, coffee and tea and milk or vegetable milk Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

The location is phenomenal and the whole place is pretty clean for being a hostel. However the beds are not very comfortable and they are very loud. Also if you have an upper bed (like I did) then you'll quickly learn that getting up and down from there is not exactly easy as the "ladder" is only one piece of metal.

If there’s anywhere else you can stay you should go there. This hostel has several design flaws that make it unsanitary and not at all comfortable especially given the 60-70€ price on the weekend. The shower floods the entire bathroom because the door doesn’t reach the floor. There’s nowhere to put your things while in the bathroom. No shelves. And only one of the two bathroom showers worked so it was 12 people sharing one shower. The rooms have metal poles for the curtains so anytime someone closes one it wakes up the whole room. Also they don’t tell you bring a lock so that you have to buy one of theirs. We asked them to store two small backpacks for a few hours before our train and they said no because they were storing other people’s things and the manager responded with, “that’s not my problem.” Not only did we have all these issues but then the staff was incredibly rude, mainly the manager. I told him about the shower and his response was that he could’ve fixed it had we told him earlier, but clearly that’s not true because so many of these reviews mention the shower and they’ve done nothing. The cleaning crew told me it’s been that was for awhile. It’s also not anywhere near the beach - the area around it is literally dead at night. These people really should not be in the business of running a hostel and if there’s anywhere else you could go you should.

In the first, the location and lobby amazed me. It was “inside” the train station. Interior design of the hostel was so good-looking and modern. I like the online check-in experience. Everything was great until this point. After that I saw the room and I realized there is no window and there is only ventilator which is not enough. Room was smelling so bad. Also there were some weird guys staying in the hostel. That is why I didn’t feel safe that much. Also they didn’t give lockers for our stuff. Showers and toilets were not clean enough.

This hostel is very particular. It's situated in an old part of the estación del norte train station, it have a big common space and a bar. The staff is kind and helpful. The beds are comfortable and it's overall clean (they clean during the day and in the evening as well). I've got a bed in a dorm and common bathroom with shower included, and I the price was very convenient. It could get chilly during night but you can ask an extra blanket, and don't forget your pijama. Keep in mind that it's a hostel, bring your onw toiletries 🙂

Nice, clean and cheap hostel. Good for a short stay. Only thing I really didn't like was that you have to download an app to use your phone as a room key. Just give people a room card and don't force me to use a stupid app that makes me turn on location and Bluetooth and doesn't work half the time...

This hostel is the Ryanair of hostels. i.e. you pay for a bed in a central location, but be prepared to pay for extras. If you are thinking of staying here, be prepared for the following: 1) They may run out of towels. So you'll either need to bring your own, or purchase them (there is a Primark on the other side of the station for this). 2) They may not have storage for your bags when you check out (I've never experienced this before). From a customer service persepctive, it would have been helpful to be given some advice by reception for alternatives. Personally, I used the Luggagehero app, I also noticed there is a luggage storage place a few minute's walk away. They usually charge by the hour. 3) Make sure your phone is charged or you have a power bank. In order to access your room you need to use an app via Bluetooth. When i was out in the evening I was mindful that I needed to get back before my phone died. Using a phone for a access means you also need to take your phone with you into the shower, and there is no spot to leave the phone while you're in there. 4) Bring a padlock if you have valuables to store, otherwise I assume you will need to buy one there.

Really bad place to stay. The hostel is in the train station and it is not properly sound proofed so you hear the trains and the machines buzzing all night. The facilities themshelves were not good either. The room was not well ventilated and it smelled badly when we arrived at 9 PM, even though it was empty. Additionally, the room was quite dirty and we found blood stains in the sheets. The bed themshelves are not ergonomic, and are a pain to climb into, as well as creaking at a high volume with slight movements. There is one bathroom with one banged up shower and a toilet next to the rooms, with the cheapest gas station toilet paper available. Finally they make you buy a lock if you want to store items, and pay for the use of towels to take a shower, despite the price being much higher than what you would expect from such a poor place. We paid around 35 per night for our stay. I dont know if it's because of inflation, but I've been to hostels like this in Madrid or Barcelona for less than 20.

Great location- you have Central Station and all the city center super close. The beds are separated, would be nicer if there is a girl and guy room. Nice lounge.

I mean, given the fact that the hostel is literally insidd the train station, it is great location-wise. You can hear the trains from one side more than the other but luckily they don't run as much at night. The atmosphere has been alright, but I imagine when it gets busier, then there is more of a social aspect to the place. The rooms are alright, though don't look too closely... just needs an extra lick of paint and a better way to clean under the beds... but otherwise, it's a decent deal if you're not a light sleeper.

It was very hard to sleep because of the noise. All the beds are made of metal and even the curtain rings so they make an awful noise. Ppl were slamming the doors all the time and even I have asked the reception to put a sign they did not... There is no soap in the bathroom (only in the showers, so if they are occupied u can't wash your hands properly...), there is no space in the room (like a shelf of smth) to leave your stuff, except the under bed locker that make a terrific noise if someone has to use it during night for example... The first day I have arrived I wanted to make an upgrade but it wasn't possible so I asked for some minutes to find a solution and they immediately charged me... They were afraid I would cancel.. There is a lot of water in the bathrooms when ppl shower and the floor can stay soaked for hours (bring flip - flops). I have stayed in many hostel but this one needs to upgrade its furniture asap. Looks like a prison...

I am disappointed with this place - the room for 6 people smelled awfully of socks and sweat, with no way to ventilate - the window does not open, the ventilation does not cope. The lockers do not lock - you have to rent one at the reception. Closets and curtains on the beds rattle, which is inconvenient when someone sleeps in the room. Tables with chairs to sit at the laptop, or eat, no - they were taken away without warning, because the hostel is planning a party in the evening, only low chairs (dirty, see photo)🥴 and low coffee tables are left. There is no kitchen. The showers are uncomfortable, cramped, dirty curtains and there isn't even a shelf for supplies inside. Of the pluses - cheap coffee, good location, large lobby

The location was perfect because we needed to take a train the next day. There are plenty of things to do within walking distance. The staff is very friendly, the bar remains open and has tasty and cheap drinks and the rooms are very clean. The only downside is that you have to use an application to enter your room which is not always working

Location is good, most staff is very friendly, but the Hostel is overpriced for a Standard Hostel (44€/Night/8bed-room). One of the staff-members opened my bed curtain in the middle of the night very rappidly without a warning and woke me up with a very loud voice. That was quite rude and made my stay uncomfortable eventhough most of the staff was very kind. I took the wrong bed by accident but it would be nice if it could be told more friendly and not like that - also some other beds in the room were free, so there was no necessity for that.

Nice place with big social space to chill in. Its biggest strength, which is being near the trainstation, is also its biggest weakness, as trains can be loud (and maybe even disturbing) but with noise cancelling headphones, it wasnt a Problem at all. Overall nice staff and id give it a solid 4.5 stars

If someone ask me :「How do you feel this hostel?」 I will reply:「Fantastic」 I felt the place is very good. Close to train station and Asia supermarket. Walk 5 minutes ,you can get to lively area.

Great service, and nice staff. Beds in the dorm were squeaky, so it made noice when people turned in their beds. And maybe it would have improved guests behavior, if there were house rules as: try to be quiet after midnight, but there wasnt.

Great hostel, in a great location, would be happy to visit with a family if you can hire a full dorm. Breakfast was a little disappointing but suffice. Location was great next to the train station and bullring.

Clever choice of location. Well organised. Good social space. No staff there some nights. Cleanliness was adequate.

I stayed for 3 nights. First night I arrived there was a party with music blaring till midnight, we were pre-warned but I wouldn’t have booked if I’d have known earlier. Not what you want after a long day of travelling. Overall the hostel is a good location, I found the bed comfortable and the amenities just fine for a short stay. It is inconvenient to have to use your phone to open all the doors. They also slam very loud and it is hard to sleep at night (earplugs are a must!). Finally, I would expect the price to be slightly lower for what they are offering. I would consider staying again.

The rooms are very dirty and there are a lot of insects in the rooms! I had like 10 flys al over my stuff when I came back. The beds are quite nice because you dong get disturbed easily because of the curtain (i stayed in a 16bed bedroom and I didn’t hear anything from the others). The whole hostel is quite noisy because it is in the train station and when the trains leave they make a lot of noise ofc… Also the staff isn’t that friendly/understanding which can be quite difficult if you just want to get an answer or sth (it wasn’t a language problem). The place was very anonymous and I didn’t talk to anyone during my stay because everyone was just minding their own business. The place where you can leave your food (and especially the fridge) isn’t equipped in any way and you cant really make your own food there - there is just a microwave and a fridge. The location is nice-especially when you are going by train. There is no vegan breakfast.

We didn't have a great stay at this hostel. On the first night there was a party in the bar area which was blasting out loud music until midnight, which seemed like a strange move for a place that is sold for you to sleep in. Beds are fine but no ladders to get to the top bunk. The app system to get into the rooms instead of a key is a pain and it seemed like no one wanted to use it so the doors were left open, which is less safe so defeats the point of having the app in the first place. The bathrooms were average but a couple of the showers were broken. However, the location is brilliant, being right next to a train station and a short walk to the centre of town and the old town. Overall I wouldn't recommend.

We walked in 1.5 hours early for check in after getting off the train and the lady at the front looked disgusted and told us to wait until it was time to check in, fair enough but she wasn’t lovely about it. After seeing absolutely no cleaning being done on the rooms that “weren’t ready”, we were allowed into our rooms that were noticeably dated and the beds which squeaked with every movement. The windows cannot be opened and the doors don’t shut unless you really test them before leaving. Furthermore, the showers doors are plastic sheets but the toilets seem nice enough. The hostel seems ok but the photos on HostelWorld oversell it’s location and cleanliness. Overall, with a lack of friendliness from staff and feeling unsafe with the door and strange characters around the outside of the hostel we left within 30 minutes after booking a hotel 5 minutes away. While slightly cheaper than others, it doesn’t come close to the other hostels we stayed at in Spain and Portugal.

This is an absolute nonsense place. Super dirty hostel you can ever have. There is no security. The behavior of the stuffs is simply worst. The hostel is in the middle of a train station. Lots of different kinds of people comes. If you don't use the lock bought from the reception in high price, it's damn sure that your stuffs will be stolen from the locker.

I slept in an 8 bed room for 2 nights and ate the breakfast. Positive are the good location close to the city center (directly in the train station), the nice common room and the cleanliness of the bedlinen - the room Overall was good for sleeping with curtains on each bunk bed. Some things could be better: the 8 bed room has just 1 small window which seems can not be opened and apparently if air-conditioning exists it doesn't work well -after 2 days the room smelled quite a bit when entering. In the shower the floor is sunken in - very strange and should definitely be renewed! At breakfast they give you just disposable cutlery which is environmental horrible and should definitely be changed! Breakfast itself was ok for 3 euros. The staff needed to be reminded of some things and seemed ab bit distracted sometimes, but they were and helped you out. So overall the UP! is totally fine for a weekend trip

Second star just for the location... So the location in the best point of the hostel. Rooms are tiny, metal bed frame making random noise every time when you are thinking about moving... Fabric to close the bed is also on metal pipe and sure noisy... Everytime when somebody was moving we was waking up even the people inside want loud. The best was. Rooms don't have window outside. They have window to look inside the station. In the morning smell of demp... Bedding really had better time. Was washed but have not nice stains. There is not hot water in the bathroom taps. I understand saving but come on there is not even hot water tap... If you have sensitivity teeth you have a problem. Showers are micro size 50x50? Maybe... For change with hot water and ok pressure of water. But no any hook, handle, nothing to put towel or shampoo. One tiny shelf outside... for 5 maybe 6? Shower. I have to say the bathroom was clean regularly. They also have a hairdryer. The price is also extremely overpriced with they staying there and with drinks in the bar...

Good location for the train. You are literally in the train station. You have to walk 10 minutes minimum walk to get to any decent restaurant or bar or a bus. 5 minutes walk from a closeby bakery. We stayed in a mixed dorm and apart from the odd one making obscene noise everyone was considerate. Beds were noisy as hell and every single one creaked and cracked. The top bunk has just a small piece of wood which you will hit regularly and it makes a really loud bang. Rooms smell off when there's no ventilation and 12 separate people sleeping in there. Bathrooms were clean and cleaned daily and throughout the day. General cleanliness of the areas. Bathrooms do not have hot water in the taps, only cold which is not ideal. The showers are tiny as well. I'm not exactly huge (6ft 78kg) but they're suitable really. Toilet cubicles are almost bigger. No where to put your towel except some rickety old rope or a broken shelf. All the curtains are stained and the floors broke in most of the cubicles. All the doors are Bluetooth App controlled which can be a little frustrating but seems to work mostly well. It's all explained when you get there. Staff are friendly. Bar prices are a bit expensive considering it's a hostel, I'd have thought they'd be more reasonable but maybe less quantity bought so prices are higher who knows. Price isn't bad but not the best either. 30€ pn/pp. For 2 people 3 nights cost was 175€. .

PROS: position (great, next to the train station as well as very close to underground station, very easy to reach it from the airport with public transportation), bar inside, very good wifi connection, safe neighborhood. CONS: restroom next to my room was pretty small and often busy. In general i really appreciated the choice of this hostel and for sure if i ever come back in Valencia i will think about staying here again.

  • 4/5 Sarah M. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, very central. Loved the privacy curtains on the bunks, never had that before. My only issue was that the showers didn't have anywhere inside to hang your clothes or belongings. This was especially inconvenient as you had to use your phone via Bluetooth to open the door. So you had to leave your phone outside the cubicle, quickest shower of my life! I said this to a staff member so hopefully they stick some hooks inside or something. At least then you could put your belongings in a plastic bag to keep them dry and safe.
