Hands down one of the best meals in Quebec. Don’t let the fact that it’s a hotel restaurant deter you. The service was warm, foods were delicious, and the vibe was welcoming. Limited menu but guarantee to deliver. Highly recommended the oysters for appetizer, tuna tataki for main, and must have the chocolate brownies for dessert. It’s not a sad American brownies that we’re all used to. It’s beautifully decorated, complexed texture between the roasted hazelnuts hidden inside the brownies and the flavors of passion fruit and dark chocolate. I’d come back just for the dessert alone. Drinks were solid 8/10, my go to is an old fashion and it was delicious here. The only downside was the steak main course was over cooked a little. I asked for medium rare and it came out more like medium. Overall experience is a 5/5 restaurant.

Just when I thought I knew everything about an Old Fashioned, Pierre not only made a fantastic one, but taught me a nuance about the recipe. Sabrina explained our Charcuterie board in grand detail and we went on a culinary journey discovering the flavors. We went for a walk and returned for the Scallops, perfectly done, along with Beef Striploin cooked just right, with a side of fries. Nestled in one of the fireplace wings, with a warm flame by our side, we felt comfortably numb after a feast fit for a king and queen. Didn’t even need desert as the icing on the cake was Pierre and Sabrina’s charming conversations. In the end…we did go for a trou Normand. When in Rome…

Extremely efficient, friendly, and professional service. A ton of interesting cocktails. Food was reasonably priced. Creme brulee dessert was the bomb--great textures and not too sweet.

Went to this bar for a post dinner drink! All I wanted was an Old fashioned done the way I like it (with amarena cherry syrup, topped with a brochette of said cherries). The skilled bartender whisked the perfect version of my drink and was unphased at my request of a cherry brochette!👏🏾

The food was good, but not up to the standard of some of the surrounding restaurants. Excellent whiskey selection and the smoked salmon was very well seasoned and fresh. Mains were lacking depth of flavour with the striploin steak and cheese truffle linguine rather bland and "safe" from bold spices.

My GF and I enjoyed a dinner here while staying at the hotel. Our server, the man with dark hair, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. Menu was small, which is perfect for a place like this. Great selection of wines and other drinks. We had the charcuterie board to start. Unique selection of local meats. Tasty and flavourful. For the main i had the butchers cut, which was a striploin steak. This is something I regularly make at home so I'm pretty critical when I order them. The steak was amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It could have used a bit more salt for the seasoning, though still a 4.95 out of 5! My GF had the lobster roll. It was huge and also full of flavour. Lobster tasted fresh and she enjoyed her dish as well. For dessert we had the grilled smore. I think they used a cookie, as opposed to an actual Graham cracker, but it was delicious nonetheless. Along with the food its also the ambience of this restaurant that make it so unique. It has a great style and perfectly caters to people looking for something modern. Really love the location and being surrounded by Quebec history while eating. Overall , an amazing dining experience. I'd definitely recommend Artefact if youre looking for a great place to eat in the lower part of the old town.

We went here specifically for the hot chocolate. Everywhere I read had this bar as the best hot chocolate in Quebec City. Yes, I am an adult, but I really wanted to indulge. I LOVED IT!!! I also loved that my husband could have an "adult" beverage since it is a bar. We were seated in a quite corner right next to the fireplace and it was so quaint.

This modern restaurant is a great spot for grabbing tapas style dishes and fancy cocktails. I enjoyed the tuna tartare, which was excellent! The apple pie dessert definitely left an impression as well. The pork belly brussel sprout salad was savory and hit the spot. I definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing one of their small plates.

Had a drink and the crab salad here. Both were outstanding! My husband got the penicillin cocktail which was also very good but not pictured !

Food was excellent.Staff was complaining about their salary; others were just rued and arrogant except from the young French intern; very lovely and welcoming: price should reflect not only the quality of the dishes but also the quality of service.

We came in to try the hot chocolate because apparently it's the best in the area. The staff was super accommodating to us wanting it as a takeout order and we received it in 4 cups and got the scones as well! The hot chocolate is super rich and delicious, definitely satisfies a chocolate craving (though I will say it's the most expensive hot chocolate I've ever had) Overall: 4/5

Came here from an online guide that recommended the hot chocolate. 1) The hot chocolate was not very good 2) By far the worst service ever. Everyone was soooo slow it took 45 minutes to get a coffee, a hot chocolate and a pre made dessert. The coffee was made by a machine too and the hot chocolate did not taste like a “melted chocolate bar” it was mostly milk with a faint taste of chocolate. The waiter was easily distracted. One moment we were waiting for the machine to pay we see him coming then like a squirrel is distracted and we see him 5 minutes later. They tended to the empty tables faster than actual patrons. It wasn’t busy and there really was no excuse for the terribly slow service. We wanted to order more food but thought by the time they made the food it would be the next day. I would not come back and I would not recommend. If a restaurant can’t do basic things correctly I doubt they can do anything right.

We were looking for something open a little later on our first visit to Quebec City and were so lucky to stumble upon Bar Artefact! We were greeted immediately and shown to our table by our server. The decor was great and the service was even better. We began with a cheese board that should have cost double what they charged. *Not sure what the chef did with the onions, but they were magical. If you read this, please tell me! Calvados poached?* Making sure not to rush our main course, even so late, we had time to finish the board and had our Steak and BBQ Hen delivered immediately after. Her steak was the best bite of food we had our whole week of eating out in Quebec! We followed this with the made-from-scratch Pavlova with raspberries from their garden! Espresso and after dinner digestifs put a bow on a absolutely fantastic dinner.

Had an amazing meal at Bar Artefact! Huge thank you to Lily for an equally amazing service! Felix for wonderful mocktail creations and Chefs Pascal, Max and Zico for what was a definite culinary experience! Beef flank steak, my husband said it was incredible and the gravy to die for! Our daughter had the Rock Cornish hen with BBQ sauce, I thought she was going to eat the bones it was so good! Lol All meals had delicious vegetables and herbs that came from the Auberge’s farm🥰 To accommodate my low sodium, the Chef recommended the Tuna Tataki with a Green pea purée, virgin dressing with tomatoes and daisy capers…. 🥰🥰🥰 They were also able to accommodate our daughter’s peanut allergy! We ended the meal with an incredible brownie and for myself, who never likes deserts… I had a Pavlova with seasonal fruits and it was to die for!! Not too sweet and no salt! Thank you to Chef Justine for these creations! This restaurant is a definite must!

A true hidden gem! The best cocktails I’ve had in Quebec City and super yummy desserts. It’s tucked away in the boutique hotel and doesn’t have much of an ambiance but the drinks and food are worth it in my opinion.

Wonderful setting and usually a very nice place for a drink. However, today they forgot about me and didn't bring my beer until I enquired about it!

Absolutely delicious! Tapas menu was perfect for sharing. We did each get our own onion soup that was the absolute best! The mushrooms with Pork Belly was so flavorful!!! The staff is welcoming and helpful!! Thank you!

Food was good but service was pretty bad. Our server took our order and we never saw her again. Someone else brought us food and we had to inquire for the bill after not being quality checked or offered more drinks.

Ask for Stephanie and Emmanuelle in the evenings. The tuna plate is simply outstanding. If you like your whisky, you need to talk to Alexandre Sabatier. He will get you even more excited about it! An absolutely wonderful experience. More folks need to visit this place.

I stayed at L'Auberge St-Antoine with friends and the bar became a rallying place for us. We had before dinner drinks there and went back after to have a night cap. I also had lunch there twice. The staff is very professional and courteous. They make great cocktails and the wine list is good. I had the burger and the club sandwich for lunch and both were excellent. This bar is part of the reason I love L'Auberge!

Stopped here for pre dinner drinks and oysters. Good large oysters from PEI. $3/each. We sat in a small area around the corner of the bar with large windows from floor to ceiling. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Just rediscovered this place after living here for 29 years! This is a must! For a coffee, a fancy drink with friend or just a good local beer with the boys this is a great choice! Don’t get tricked by the name there is food. They have a valet parking so check that of your list! Don’t be scared by the high class look they stayed down on earth and you can expect to pay 10$ for a pint, 15$ for lunch and 4$ for tea!

We went here for a pre-supper drink and although the place is nice, the location of the terrace is terrible. The loud cars and motorcycles were just too much as it is right on the street, totally ruined the nice atmosphere when someone would rev their obnoxious engine. If you are inside it is much better as you do not hear it as much, but we would much rather be outside for our 5 à 7.
