Great place to grab tasty breakfast and quality espresso drink! Portions are tapas size so plan accordingly, 2 portions per person is usually suggested! Prices are fair and service is great!

I didn't have much expectations, we picked it among a few breakfast places in the area by fluke. I was pleasantly surprised. Great looking place, very Bohemian. Took a little while to get a table, we got there just as the morning rush was slowing down. Interesting menu, with lots of different, international takes on breakfast. We had the shakshuka with extra feta and canned anchovies, and the Turkish style egg. Everything was delicious. The tomato sauce from the shakshuka was packed with flavor. They had a good selection of cocktails, cider and beer so it's a perfect boozy brunch place. Prices were very fair. All around an amazing place.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Went there for brunch on a Saturday morning. There were plenty of places to sit. The food was great and cheap (40ish for 3 plates (tapas sizes) and 2 awesome coffees). We took the avocado bene, the veggies (oh my lord trust me on this one juste take it) and the hummus toast #miammmm Definitely would recommend.

We went around noon on a Saturday & there was a bit of wait at the door & for food. Did not mind this as music was great, decor was super cute, and drinks were delicious. Dirty chai was super yummy. Americano came with a frothed milk sidecar!! Staff were kind, competent, and bilingual. Food was absolutely effing phenomenal - one of the very most fun, unique & well-prepared brunch I’ve had. Prices are pretty awesome in my opinion & our party of two shared 4 dishes. Definitely gonna try to make shakshuka at home. Loved it ❤️❤️

Had breakfast two days back to back because the food was so good. Visiting from Toronto and this is one of the best breakfast places we ate at. Great atmosphere and the customer service was amazing. Such great service which made our experience that much more memorable. Thank you to Talim and Victoria.

This is easily the best brunch place and café in Quebec City! The food is amazing, and the service was very fast. The coffee tastes very bold and rich. The interior is also very pretty. I would come back here every time I am back in Quebec City.

This rustic place is so cute, and the food is truly excellent. I loved the idea of replacing the English muffin by French toast for the eggs Benedict. It was divine. They also sell coffee to bring home. I noticed that their bar was very well stocked too.

One of the best brunch I have ever had! The portions are appropriate and do not induce a food coma. The coffee is top-notch, as is the serving staff. Highly recommended!

The breakfast here was amazing! The petit latte was heavenly. My husband and I enjoyed the food as it was the best breakfast we ate in Quebec. The staff is attentive, friendly, professional and inviting. If you are in the area do not miss out!

Cute coffee shop! Both coffee and meals are tasty. We ordered Shakshuka and apple pancakes. Recommend this place for brunch.

One of my favourite brunch places in the city! We’ve already been here twice and every time we had a wonderful time. Good food, good service, and good atmosphere. Their Béné gravlax maison is a must try. The salmon and the bread with the sauce is sublime. Rösti de pommes de terre au cheddar is also good if you’re looking for a lighter meal with a pleasant salad. Finally, Falafels au thé et à la menthe is a wonderful vegetarian option with great poached pear! I would like to visit this place again and try their cocktails. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a solid brunch place with cozy and chill atmosphere!

It is one of my favorite places for brunch. The staff is very friendly and professional. The brunch menu offers about 10 different dishes where at least one option is vegetarian (and if I'm not mistaken, vegan). As the place is a cafe as well, you can accompany your delicious meal with a freshly brewed coffee prepared by their barista. The proportions of the dishes are well served and you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. I have not had the opportunity to visit the place for dinner but I am sure that the evening menu will not disappoint anyone.

a really cute cafe with lovely touches. the food and service were both good too. for the gravlax, the bagel was a bit too toasted; the raddish was an interesting and good addition. the portion is on the smaller side though, so maybe get two plates for one person.

Loved the ambiance and the beverages. We actually came back after dining just to get a mochaccino. As for the food, it could use some salt but presentation is great.

Probably the most popular brunch spot in Quebec City. The staff is really friendly and always accommodating. There can be a bit of a wait so I suggest coming early on weekends. They have really good cocktails as well as food so I can highly recommend it. Been back multiple times

Amazing breakfast here. Wish I could’ve ordered everything on the menu, it all sounded delicious. Service was great too.

Although it's a cafe in the day, we went at night when it was a bar. They have some great options on their cocktail menu, balancing flavours well and having some interesting twists. And good quality spirits on the shelf. We also challenged the bartender with something off-menu using the local Acerum and he came up with a great combination. He was very knowledgeable.

Food is good, portions are a bit small. Service is not attentive since we are sitting on the patio (we waited over 20 mins to get seated and water was only filled once after we sat down). No one comes to check up on us to see how the food taste. We gave good tips but will probably not coming back.

There are flesh flowers on the all tables. It has nice atmosphere. Probably portion is not big enough for men but it was well made.

The service was great, it’s such a nice spot with lots of room for indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered 2 drinks and a brunch item. The only issue was that we asked for no meat/bacon and we went home without checking and the food had meat on it. I would like to come back again but disappointed I couldn’t enjoy most of the meal we purchased.

Very friendly staff and accommodating to dietary restrictions. My partner had the turkish eggs with a hot mocha. I had the shakshuka with sardines and yogurt as well as a hot chai and iced mochaccino to go

I started coming to Maelstrom since summer 2022 and every visit has been a bliss !! We’ve tried a variety of foods and drink, they all delivered so well. The staff was especially helpful and friendly :) Great cafe atmosphere. Can’t wait to return next time I’m in quebec city <3

were on the hunt for the perfect coffee shop to try some delicious, high quality espresso while sitting in a cozy, warm ambiance. Great coffee shop with several eatery options. First the coffee itself is perfect. Food it also good for the breakfast - they have omlet, poached eggs with salmon, French toast etc. Everything we ordered were fresh and tasty.

I had a positive experience. The waitress (Alexandra, if I'm not mistaken) was very kind and knowledgeable about their cocktails. She did some great recommendations and performed such an incredible service. The barman was also very friendly. We just found their options of snacks are limited, although their pita bread with hummus is simply amazing (8$)! The prices are ok for the cocktails (between 12 and 15, but they are not served in a large glass). But honestly our biggest concern was actually the loud music. From the outside the place looks chill and nice but inside was loud and people were speaking louder to make themselves heard.

I wish I could give a 5-star rating cause I love this place. Top coffee. Take it as an espresso, americano or macchiato. Avoid milk based coffees - latte, flat white, … - as the milk is heated beyond it’s sweet point and spoils the experience. A big disappointment considering the equipment on site. It’s among the few best options in Quebec City. Staff: 4/5

There was a little wait for a table, seem to be quite the popular neighborhood cafe. Well worth the wait. Ambience was cosy, inviting and the background music selection was good. Food wise, I ordered the flammekueche. May look like a small serving but it's more than satisfying. Loved how the onions, bacon, poach egg, potatoes blends so well with the cinnamon on a flat pastry that reminded me of prata. Husband had the gravlax, something of an egg benedict on half a bagel. The smoked salmon maybe a little too salty on its own but when eaten with the bagel, egg and hollandaise sauce, it's just delicious. Coffee wise was a little lukewarm, I prefer mine steaming hot.

Great spot for breakfast and delicious coffee with all the different plant based milks. We found it by chance near our hotel, and ended up going here for breakfast each day before heading out biking. The service, food, atmosphere and coffee were all fantastic.

Comfortable chill vibes, came in as a walk in for cocktails with a couple of girls. Bartender/server was super sweet and friendly, quick and good with any questions about the drinks. Drinks were well received and overall chill place to hangout with friends for a night

Charming space (currently decked out in Christmas decor!) with a peaceful vibe, and very friendly and attentive staff. Our visits were morning visits: we came first for the coffee, and then for brunch the next day. Brunch was mostly vegan options, but super flavourful (be not afraid, non-vegans). We were not disappointed. Highly recommend for a lovely start to your day. Merci!

always happy when I can find a tofu breakfast scramble! wrap was a lil cold for my liking but the breakfast potatoes were spot on and I really liked the salad too. they go all out for Christmas which was super fun. friendly staff, good vibe!

Very good brunch place - excellent coffee place. Giving this place 5 stars die to the coffee. Few times I've been there they have switched brands of coffee served, but it's always a good choice, and made by talented barristas on a lovely La Marzocco. Bruch and mimosas there aren't bad either. Reserve in advance on weekends for the brunch.

Rude staff, substandard food ( our potatoes were cold and raw). They mixed up our food, brought incorrect dish after more than an hour! There are much better options in this beautiful city.
