Avoid rooms in the reception area!! The hotel is well-situated and our room (20) was very nice. But it was directly adjacent to the reception desk and we were awakened multiple times over two nights, including by an argument between an arriving guest and the receptionist at 1:00 am and a loud conversation early (around 6 am). The hotel should advise guests of this or, better yet, move the reception to the first floor.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I stayed 2 nights/3 days and I will for sure come back. Wonderful customer service, beautiful rooms with big washrooms. Very clean and cozy. Perfect location 👌

I can't recommend this hotel more. Service was very friendly, helping us with our luggage, even suggesting good local restaurants to visit. Thanks again Stephan! Best part of this hotel is the location. Near everything, restaurant was lively and delicious.

Wonderful! Very glad we chose Auberge Du Tresor -- we love a boutique hotel vs something with hundreds of rooms. We had a very nice room overlooking the main courtyard and the Chateau Frontenac -- so pretty and lit up at night. Perfect location -- we loved being able to walk out the door and get to anything easily. LOVED Bistro 1640, the bar and restaurant downstairs (probably our favorite spot for a drink in all of Quebec City). Highly recommend!

No need to stay anywhere else. The Auberge du Tresor will always be my go to for Old Quebec City. You cannot beat, the location, it is in the heart of everything. The rooms are comfortable and appear to be newly updated with hardwood floors, amazing shower. It is across from chateau Frontenac with a little park in between. Our favourite meal was at the restaurant attached to the hotel and also our favourite spot for a nightcap. Having said all that, the manager Stephan was the host of all hosts. He went out of his ways tend to all our needs. Book early!

Great location and right across from the Chateau Frontenac. Friendly staff. Great restaurant downstairs with complimentary coffee in the morning. There is no elevator so if mobility is an issue you might want to re-consider. Shower is great as well. The only thing is, you need to request for the house keeping team to come clean your room, otherwise they will not come. We did not know so our room was not cleaned on one of the days that we stayed.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are pretty small, but lots of character. Some have a view of the fire escape and some the beautiful courtyard, so that's hit-and-miss. No coffee in the rooms, but available in the lobby. The staff was great and bilingual. Jasmin, the night guy, was awesome. And of course in the heart of Old Quebec for decent prices!

Fantastic 1 night stay with clean and spacious room. We were in room 24 facing the garden, liked the view and being in the centre of all activities. Super close walk to everything, especially with a restaurant right down stairs ( had a nice meal there). Actually not as loud as some reviews mentioned, I can hear garbage truck and cars, etc. but thats just the location of it. The shower was nice, beds are comfortable. Fresh coffee in the morning. The walls are a little thin, you can hear the room above and beside you. But didn’t bother us that much. There is no parking on site, the closest one is the city of Quebec parking, 2 minute walk from there and about $17 for one overnight parking. Was convenient. Overall a great stay!

Great little boutique hotel. It is an old structure, but has very comfortable modern amenities; heck the shower is nicer than mine. Beware, you WILL climb stairs; I did not see handicap accomodations but I didn't ask. Biggest benefit is it's in the heart of Old Town without the bustle of the Frontenac.

This place is in the center of old-Quebec and is a wonderful place to stay. It's description as "quaint and hip" is accurate. The rooms have been updated and are comfortable albeit smaller than ones you'd find in the U.S.. Still, they retain their old world charm. The walk-in shower is very modern and nice and large enough to accommodate and extra-extra-large (XXL) bather. Many walking tours and the hop-on; hop-off bus tour begin within 100ft of the front door. The Hotel Frontenac is across the street as well as a view of the lower city. The funicular is there as well. They don't have parking but an underground parking garage is just around the corner and the prices are reasonable. Also, everyone speaks passable English if, like me, you don't speak French. There are a multitude of restaurants within a 5-minute walk. I would gladly return to this property. Just be aware that construction and road repair are in full swing during the warmer months. You'll need to park your car and walk most places. But there's plenty to do within walking distance.

Worth the splurge! We stayed a couple nights elsewhere and one final night here, and it made the entire trip! Comfy beds, stunning view, ultimate location - directly across the park from Château Frontenac and next door to the artist alleyway where we picked up some beautiful souvenirs from truly amazing and humble artists. The only negative piece to our stay was that the perfect room we had was direcrly opposite reception and other guests don't tend to consider their volume coming in at late hours, full volume conversations and laughter happening directly outside our door at 1am. NOT the hotel's fault, but something to prepare for when booking the king rooms that face the château. All the same, treat yourself, you won't regret it!

This little gem is right in the middle of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. It's across the yard from the infamous Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. It's close to shops and restaurants. My room is surprisingly quiet despite all the activities downstairs. The hotel is about 10-minute taxi ride from the train station. You can walk from there if you don't mind the hills. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is nice, clean, and bright. My room has a view of fire escape and the restaurant across the way but I don't mind. If I want a view I just go outside (you shouldn't fixate on your hotel views anyway if you can just go out and see the city) The hotel has no elevator so you'll have to haul your luggage upstairs yourself, personally I don't mind. If you have mobility challenges you might need to reconsider. The wifi is fast, the water pressure is great, the black out curtains are helpful. What more can you ask for? I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Quebec City.

This is a nice place to stay when visiting historic Quebec City. Located across Place D'Armes from the Hotel Frontenac, next door to a Tourist Information office and steps to the Funicular to the Lower Town it is a great location. The rooms are modern and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Only advice is there is no elevator and there are lots of stairs in this hotel.

This is an excellent place to stay - very close to everything in walking distance… and the room is clean and modern and the staff has been great! We will definitely come here again

Had a delicious meal with 2 glasses of wine, service was great and had a happy atmosphere. Its a pretty little bar reminds me of Europe. Well worth a visit if your in town.

We stayed here at the end of February. I loved that Christmas decorations were still up everywhere we went. Great location right across from Funiculaire, with lots of shops and restaurants near by and a visiting center next door. The hotel was clean and cozy. Room service is at your request. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor facing the park with view of the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. There is no elevator, but the hotel is only 3 floors, did not bother us. I have to point out that the restaurant downstairs plays music and it could be heard in our room. Not a deal-breaker for us, it didn't bother us. In fact, we hardly ever noticed it. We definitely would love to come back in warmer weather. Overall, we had an amazing time and great stay at this hotel.

Great location. Right across from Chateau Frontenac and next to a tourist information location. All the shops and restaurants are near you. It's also located above a restaurant/bar. Can be loud at night because of the restaurant but that didn't bother us. All the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very small but nice. Would definitely recommend.

The plus side of the hotel is the location. The room wasn’t noisy, even though it is above a bar, and the staff were professional. However, the room lacked the little things that make a stay more comfortable such as a kettle/coffee machine and a bedside table on both sides of the bed. There is an odd arrangement of getting complementary coffee between eight and noon, but not later.

This is a lovely hotel and the concierge was very accommodating. Excellent view and location. My only complaint is that the room we were in was barely stocked. We had to ask for an iron, and there was no kettle or coffee in the room. They do have hot coffee in the lobby every morning, but we got sick on our trip and it would have been a game changer to be able to heat our own water for tea. The employees helped us out so much, but it felt bare minimum in the rooms.

Stayed here for two nights. First let me say it is an excellent location, you really can’t beat it (especially for the price). Close to everything and centrally located. It’s on a busy street (pedestrian, not many cars) so naturally it’s a bit louder, and you can hear music from the restaurant outside (though they did get the restaurant to turn the music off at our request later that evening because we’re old and grumpy). Perhaps a higher room facing away from the street would provide a quieter experience. If you’re looking to be in the heart of the action, this is the spot to be.

Fantastic location in the middle of Old Quebec. Very clean, great service as I do not speak French. I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel to anyone. Walking distance to everything. Some reviews I read said that this place isn’t quite, we were on the second level right beside reception and it was extremely quite.

We stayed in the king room with view of Fontunac. It was great. Great folks, room was excellent and the bar was great. Highly recommend.

Outstanding hotel. It is more like an Inn. Very cozy old estalishment with modern room. Coffee is avaliable at the reception desk. There is no breakfast but we found two places very close by.

We were greeted by a friendly front desk staff member who was super excited to share the surprise he had left in our room... he had made a heart on our bed in rose petals for our honeymoon. One of the only places on our cross-Canada honeymoon that did something a little extra for us. It went a long ways. The hotel is adorable and in a perfect location. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Good location, right at the heart of downtown Quebec City. Room is modernized and isn't too expensive. Check in is a bit hectic because there are only 3 parking lots for 10 mins right at the roundabout.

Small hotel in Old Quebec City. Rooms are nice but a mini fridge would have been nice. No parking on site but public parking is a five minute walk. On-site restaurant was good but make a reservation. Good drink menu as well.

The hotel location is perfect for exploring the city on foot. The manager of the hotel was really helpful for us as we are new to Quebec City. He gave us great ideas to make the most of our trip and even highlighted on the map the must see locations. We appreciated his extra effort. The hotel was comfortable, clean and a nice place to stay. We will for sure stay again next time we are in town.

Beautiful suite. The service was great. The only reason I took one star off is that the shower water could have been warmer.

Good food, good music, great location right across Chateau Frotenac. The french onion soup is the bomb here. Tuna tartare was also delicious.

Our room had a great view of chateau Frontenac. It was a very neat well kept room but on the rather small side. Area is great if you want to walk on the board walk, check out Rue st Jean (the main strip in old Quebec) or enjoy a true québécois experience.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Stephan - the Manager who checked us in and helped us with recommendations of things to see and pubs to visit. He was spot on! We had a great time. The room was clean, well equipped, great view, and comfortable bed. We also had meals and drinks at the 1640 Bistro-pub on the main floor, was excellent service and food which exceeded expectations. We forgot some clothes at the hotel, Stephan again came through by mailing them back to us. Again, above and beyond expectations. We will definitely be back, highly-recommend!!

Wonderful place. Clean beautiful rooms. But the very best is the manager who was incredibly helpful friendly and delightful!! We even had an emergency and he helped us out and was so sweet to check on how we were doing later. Nicest place. Great restaurant!!

A beautiful smaller hotel, more like an Inn, so much nicer than the bigger hotels. All the staff were excellent, wonderful, helpful and very accommodating. Room was very nice, clean, bright, great view. The bed was very comfortable. The location could not have been better! Close to everything. I would stay again and highly recommend it!

Nice elegant spacious rooms with sofa bed. Loved the aesthetic for the coffee/tea room. Lots of space to sit around and relax (and oh a cocktail mixer as well). Excellent guest services and recommend staying and booking in advance to get a better rate. Worth staying!

Lovely inn located in the heart of Old Quebec. Very nice decor in and out. Friendly staff, complementary coffee. The 1640 Restaurant was very nice as well. The specialty of the house, the beef jowls, were delicious. Extensive wine list as well. Highly recommended.
