The very best steakhouse in Quebec city. The service is exemplary. The quality and size of the cuts of beef are impressive. The tables are covered with fine linen tablecloths, with polished silverware. The entire experience is over the top. Highly recommend for best steak in Quebec City. The selection of wines is the best you will ever see. The desserts are made by the chefscand is as delectable as the main course.

Absolutely delicious food, very well cooked and had the right garnish. The location is a little strange as it is in the train station, however, this is not an issue as the train station is almost always empty. Very nice place with good food and not too expensive.

very nice place for an upscale steakhouse experience. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. service was good as well. this steakhouse was made in an old train station. very cozy and beautiful decorum. i recommand if your in quebec city.

We had a large group of about 120 enter the building, all ordering at the same time. While I did have to wait a long time for my food, the steak was cooked PERFECTLY. The sides, apps, and dessert left something to be desired, but the steak really shone through. Fantastic.

Service to me is something that is always of utmost importance. You can have just awful food but the service can make up for it. Also, when getting bad or good service, the waiter can make such a huge difference. We arrived at the restaurant but went towards the wrong entrance. We didn't know the main entrance was from the train station. The manager who saw my parents having mobility issues was kind enough to open the side entrance. Once he realized our reservation was set for upstairs, he rearranged a bunch of other tables to accommodate my parents. That is true service. The food was excellent. My steak was ok but based on the other people at the table, they really loved theirs. And my kids loved their burgers. But the service... Incredible. I will definitely be coming back.

Had an amazing last supper on our vacation @charbon.steakhouse ! Our waiter Michel was wonderful and the food and drinks were amazing! Best place for a steak and there’s more than 2 options! lol Our Delmonico steaks almost fell apart with a fork it was so tender. Our daughter’s burger was so amazing she didn’t want any mayo or anything added. The Chef was also able to accommodate my low sodium, it was wonderful! The restaurant was beautiful, very chic☺️ A definite must try, we’ll be going back for sure! Best steak experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant!

Filet was cooked perfectly and the sides complemented the meal so well. Restaurant atmosphere is so warm and cozy, beautiful decor and all around a great experience. Bartender gave amazing service as well.

A better score for this place would be 3.75. The vibe is good, they are going for the pseudo-fancy steakhouse and they nailed it. I got a ribeye steak and it was cooked at a perfect point… I just had to wait for it for like 40 mins tho and the place wasn’t really busy. Wine selection was pretty good, although I would limit it to a more manageable set of wines. Less is more on that one. Overall: good food with fair prices, but just barely.

The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. Warm, cozy, and upscale vibe with nice decor. The restaurant was full with a nice background buzz but you can still hear the people at your table talk. Attentive service but nothing beyond what would be expected at this type of restaurant. We were disappointed with the food. We ordered appetizers, mains, and dessert and nothing stood out. The New York steak was not flavourful at all and neither was the red wine sauce that it came with. It all tasted bland. I had to add salt and pepper from the table which is something I almost never do, and would not expect to have to do at a nice steakhouse.

Loved their T-bone for 2, potato gratin and coleslaw! Cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and friendly. Will be back.

Delicious food, good value. Atmosphere was laid back, casual and comfortable. Service was ordinary, nothing special on that side of things. Overall a good value.

If you enjoy a steakhouse, I recommend this place. It has a nice romantic vibe to it but also has an area to sit at the bar if that's what you're looking for. The meat is fresh as you have the opportunity to see their cuts firsthand. The service was also excellent, very fast and efficient.

We went to Le Charbon for my husband's birthday May 10, 2022. Our beef selections were tough and had better beef at Applebee's. We made a mistake by not contacting our credit card company before we left the U.S. Our card was rejected when we tried to use it. Our waiter acted impatient and angry when he tried to run our card! We had American currency to pay for our meal. Not a good dining experience and the quality of the food left something to be desired

I brought my wife here for her 50th birthday. Every single thing about this restaurant was perfect. The location Is in the old Quebec train station built in the early 1900s. We had New York steak with a Caesar salad for starters. The salad alone was worth the five stars and the steak was high quality and cooked to perfection The staff were so professional and kind. I just can’t say enough about this place. Next time I’m back in Quebec City I well have to eat there again

We came here after travelling to try it out, and it was a wonderful decision! The atmosphere is warm and luxurious, the prices are very fair and the food was absolutely delicious! A special thank you to our server Michel for the great service and wonderful attitude. I would recommend Le Charbon to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable experience!

Had the "Delmo" (thanks Chuck, it's stuck in my head now!) and it was delicious. Super friendly staff, service was quick and the ambiance was great. We need more steakhouses in train stations. Merci!!

The ambience of this restaurant was worth the visit. The steak was excellent, although the calamari was not as good as I have had. It was my birthday and I was surprised with a slice of cake that was yummy indeed. Definitely would recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is okay. If you're looking for a cozy, Quebec City style of restaurant, this is probably not the right place — it's a large, 2-floor steakhouse. The food was okay. The steak particularly was great, but the sides had no charm. Wine options by the glass not extensive, but have good options by the bottle.

My wife and I had the opportunity to enjoy this location recently. The service was welcoming and even though I speak French they were able to provide my wife an English menu. We ordered a filet lignin and sirloin, both medium-rare, and they were AMAZING! Easy to cut and made with care and attention. The sides were also done to perfection. We will come here again next time we’re in Québec.

Very nice place, our waiter was extremely professional and charming. My Rib steak was cooked perfectly, very delicious. Prices are not cheap but also not ridiculous. Worth the experience, Merci Beaucoup!

Great atmosphere. Delicious food. I had dinner with a vendor and my colleagues and waitress was great. We didn't feel hurried to leave and had a very productive time.

Extremely dissatisfied. I was there a few years ago and was impressed. The steak was excellent. Went tonight for a special family dinner and New York Steaks were terrible . They were very thin and very tough. My husband had their 45 day aged rib steak as well and it was very thin. I spoke to the assistant manager who said she was surprised! Terrible for the price.

My last visit was 2018 and after that the pandemic hit and I never came back . I’ve been coming to this fine superb establishment since 2005. That was my 1st encounter with a steakhouse never looked back at another steakhouse you got good steakhouses and you got superb steakhouses . This is top of the line my last visit was 2018 just before everything shut down . In 2 weeks I’ll be coming back I shall return I shall sink my teeth in another steak

Great steakhouse. Hades the 14 oz. Ribeye and was pretty good. Others on the table had the filet which was better yet.

Unimpressed I was in here last night, I was the last customer out, steak was over cooked eventually I asked for a rare cut. Shed started drinking while cooking as you can see from the table, waitress was abrupt almost rude at times. Didn't get to eat with my partner, not please at all.

Called the restaurant to see if they had tables available and no one picked up the phone. We still decided to drive 20 mins and once on the spot we waited 10 mins before anyone noticed us. A waiter walked by us and ignored us. A client actually called a waiter for us when walking back inside. We were told they were full even thought tables outside were EMPTY. Out of around 30 tables, i would say 2 were taken.

The service was great, the food was bit expensive for the quality you get but the food was great. If id had to change anything it would be the fries, they were frozen McCain fries. The fries should be homemade like in any other real restaurant, they are cheap simple and quick to cook.

Great place for a good steak. I had a flank steak that was divine. Just cooked as I asked, no hussle, no problem. Our server was experienced, friendly and professional. Easy for ketoer, just ask for no sauce and a side of ceasar salad. Pricey, but hey! Steak! 😊
