Tried out Diner Saint-Sauveur on a whim whilst looking for dining options in Quebec City and was thoroughly impressed. The poutine was a standout, with a delicious and peppery gravy that enveloped crisp fries and excellent, fresh cheese curds. The burger was also a highlight, with a delicious patty and well toasted brioche buns. To round off the meal my brother and I opted for chicken and waffles, that were deliciously crisp, spicy and simultaneously sweet. If I lived in Quebec City, and wanted a casual but delicious meal, I know where I'd go.

We love it!! The place looks like a bar, so at first we thought this was more a place to drink, but actually it has a pretty cool vibe with great food! Our burgers arrived hot and very very fast, it was delicious. But the music was incredible loud, making people speak louder, so the place was really loud for us. We couldn't have a conversation without speaking up! We do intend to get back soon, but we hope the music is a little bit less loud! 🥹

The Diner Burger was absolutely delicious. The meat was nicely seasoned and not overcooked. The condiments fresh and crispy. The bun soft and chewy. And the melted squik squik cheese gave it a whole other level of flavour. The cheesecake was also very good! Dense and creamy and not too sweet. I have to take out one star though because of the prices. 15$ for just a burger and 7$ for a small kids size poutine is overpriced for a diner imo.

The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Great music playing too.

We saw this place on Food Network's Big Food Bucket List, so we gave it a try. A nice little place off the beaten path (less tourists), but accommodating our lack of French abilities by serving us in English. They call themselves a "Small "Retro-Punk" neighborhood restaurant" and the decor and music were definitely to that image but in a fun and friendly way. My wife had a Montreal hot dog (hot dog with coleslaw) while I had the Diner Burger with waffles in place of the bun and we had fried onions and classic poutine as sides. They also had a small selection of alcohol free beer, which is greatly appreciated as I like beer, but I don't like drinking when I am eating out and have to drive somewhere. I got an alcohol free IPA by Ras L'Bock which had a great citrus note that paired very well with the Diner Burger. The Diner Burger is very big and the waffles definitely add to the massive size. Great flavour with the fried onions and bacon, it filled me up. The fried onions had a salt and vinegar flavour to them and the classic poutine with real cheese curds is a must. Glad we found this place!

Saw this place on big food bucket list. Would not recommend. Locals only. Food was good but atmosphere was quasi hostile. Sorry John not bucket worthy!!

Amazing place! The food is so good! We had theit funky poutine, chicken'n' wafles and shepherd's pie and everything was so delicious! Your culinary experience has to be finalized with their homemade cheesecake! The service is great and friendly! We are so happy that we found this place.

Wow, what an experience, amazing welcome from the get go. Had to experience poutine once in Québec and this was a great place to do it. Poutine is not necessarily to everyone's liking, but my funky poutine was delicious. Love that squeeky cheese 😁🧀. The sour cherry cider was excellent. Thanks guys.

This is the best place in QUEBEC! Save it to your phone, get in an Uber (it's NOT near the tourists) and you will be in Diner heaven. The beers are craft, local and exceptional. The food is hand-crafted, farm to table. This should be on the New York Times list for sure. Their poutine is to die for. They start the process 72-hours before they serve the most delicious duck-fat frites you have ever had, fresh cheese curds, homemade gravy. The chef recommended that we put a piece of fried chicken on top and homemade hot sauce, it was awesome and so cheap! The owners said it was modeled after American-style Diner, I wish, we had them that good. The local regulars were so nice and welcoming. Even the bathroom was cool with a red phone, a mona lisa cut-out and a Pulp Fiction poster. Hands down, the best, you must go! If I lived in Quebec, I would be there every Friday night.

Usually restaurants that are in touristy areas can get away with bad food and bad service but I was really impressed by both the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. Also the bathrooms are pristine.

As always good beer good people and good food! The BLT burger so freaking good. The msc and cheese meal was filling as always. Don't sleep on the Buffalo Brussels sprouts, like even if you don't like Brussels sprouts give then a shot cause they are out of thus world!

Besides the fact that they forgot the macaroni and cheese with our order... look at this shepherd's pie! $21 for this!!! Outrageous! The photo was quite misleading. And the poutine was sad... the cheese kurds were like rubber and squeaked on your teeth. The good reviews led us to this place. It was a mistake.

The service was an absolute highlight, our waitress was incredible! The poutine was really great!! The fish and chips were pretty good and well seasoned too. Highly recommend for great atmosphere and friendly staff

Good vibes and even better food. Came here after reading the reviews and it didn't disappoint! I had the chicken and waffles and it was very yummy. The chicken was well seasoned along with a drizzle of sweet chili sauce for a nice heat. The waffle was maple flavoured and complimented the chicken nicely. My partner got the diner burger and chili cheese fries. Can't comment on the taste of the diner burger but it was piled high and also looked delicious. The chili cheese fries was very filling and yummy as well.

Wonderful comfort food. If you enjoy shepherds pie, you have got to try their take on the classic dish. Other favourites include the Mac n Cheese, and of course the poutines.

Never order a poutine late, they will only put the rest of the trash can in it. Other reviews and pictures seems amazing, but it was disgusting. All fries were burned, the sauce was soo thick and the "fried onions" looks and tasted like an old used mop. A hard pass for me.

A nice spot in Saint Sauveur. This place offers many of the classic retro dinner meals. Staff is very friendly. The menu have many options for lunch. For vegetarians there is the Guedille végé, Mac’n Cheese, Spag tomate. Beer, wine and cocktails are also part of the menu. Food could time to be served, if you are in a hurry this might not be the place for you. But the wait is worth it! If nothing in the menu tempted you, there is the option of creating your own dish.

Went out of our way to hit this spot and we were disappointed. Tried the Diner burger, chicken and waffles, poutine, and cheesecake. Everything was delicious. Staff was super friendly and the decor/vibe is very laid-back and cool.

We ordered on Uber eats and it was honestly one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. It tasted really weird, and was such a strange flavour of burger. The cheese on the cheeseburger was cheese curds which made the burger texture rubbery. The burger didn’t come with fries. Maybe it was because we ordered late and it was on Uber eats that they didn’t care about the quality but I would honestly avoid this place.

Great food and great service, but one water is not enough for all the clients. We had to wait for a long time for each interaction, and at one time the waiter actually forgot about us. He is a good waiter, but the place needs at least one more for it to work propperly.
