As a connoisseur with American-Ukrainian heritage, I was drawn to the allure of the crepes at this establishment. Expertly prepared, they were delightful, illustrating that simplicity can indeed be the epitome of perfection. A surprising twist was the water, infused with plankton, which added an invigorating zest for those who prefer a more lively alternative to conventional filtered water. Unfortunately, a lapse in cleanliness seemingly resulted in the presence of mold, presumably from an ill-maintained ice machine—a regrettable oversight. The hot chocolate, served with water rather than milk, was a point of contention. While its unique preparation may appeal to some, our preference for a milk-based blend left us disappointed. Enjoying a cup of "coffee on the lake" was an outstanding experience. The coffee was tasteful, probably drip coffee, with no aroma that is required for a good cup of cappuccino. This establishment would greatly benefit from the expertise of someone proficient in coffee and chocolate beverages, who can tailor these drinks to a broader range of palates.

I wish I had seen the reviews for this restaurant before agreeing to eat here. The only thing it had going for it was the beautiful set up and location which is right next to Chateau Frontenac. We ordered sweet and savoury crêpes. The food looked better than it tasted. The children were happy with their maple and chocolate crêpes, but it would be zero stars if they got those wrong! The savoury crêpes lacked flavour and I kept looking for the cheese in my vegetarian crêpe till the very last bite. We always tip our serves and did as well in this case but felt that it was not at all deserved. Our server gave us only 2 knives for 4 people, even after bringing our plates he did not bring more cutlery. My husband has to go into the restaurant and ask someone else for some knives. Our server seemed extremely impatient to take our order and then to clear our table. While pouring water he grabbed our glasses from the rim and even dipped his open shirt cuff into one of the cups he had just filled. This is basic etiquette and should not be experienced in such an establishment. All in all, a regrettable experience. There are places in the area that serve much better food, with much better service, and with much better prices. Look at my other reviews for inspiration.

We ordered crepes. Unlike what we expected the cheese was wrapped inside a flat crepe and the filling was outside. Not a genuine French crepe but tasty.

I got the charcuterie board and they gave me this abomination of a sandwich. It looks like something a 3 year old would make. 0/10, will never return for dinner. I had a dessert crepe of Chantilly and strawberries. It was fake whipped cream and a mediocre crepe. Not worth it

Absolute SHOCKING experience. The staff should be ashamed with how they treat their guests. It was our first night in Quebec after a 10 hour drive and we were very excited to dine at your restaurant. The waitress was very sweet and nice. We were two couples and got the trio. Cheese, meat, and chocolate fondue. The cheese fondue was great! The meat fondue was very mediocre. Tiny salad served and no difference types of steak, just one. This is not like other fondue places. The dessert came and it was supposed to be a chocolate fondue. It was HOT CHOCOLATE! I am not even kidding you! They put milk and hot chocolate mix together and put together the worst dish to dip. I nicely told the waitress that the cook gave us hot chocolate. Before I could even finish telling her, she knew, this was obviously a very common complaint. She went to get us actual chocolate and NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE! We were there from 8pm-11pm. I kid you not. The table next to us got chicken fondue and the broth was so cold and wouldn’t heat that the chicken was RAW. Some other waiter came back to us and told us and the other table to pay the full bill and leave because we “offended” the chef. You could of given that table food poisoning or salmonella. We never received the actual chocolate fondue. The kitchen staff was peeping out of the kitchen at us laughing. The table next to us asked for the manager and told them there wasn’t any manager that night. We paid up and left. Please save your hard earned money and do not support this business. The staff should be ashamed.

This restaurant is an absolute disappointment. The crepes were ok but everything else was bad. I ordered the hot chocolate and it was not good. It tasted cheap and was with water, not milk. The worst part was the water. The water had mold and looked disgusting.

Food was hot and fresh, good portions. Service lacking in follow-up and checking in. We were not the only people looking for service and attention. A bit more details about sauces, used a broth rather than oil to cook. Very tasty, better to wait for broth to heat up to cook properly.

We waited for our food more than 45 minutes and it was just 2 dishes. They were not that busy with several empty tables. In terms of food, the Chinese fondue was actually really good (hence the only star that they get) but the mushroom crepe was tasteless like a sheet of paper. The servers were hysterically running around, and dropped a cup on the floor with all that frenzy of course. Do not recommend.

It's ok, given that it is within a busy tourist zone and has a very reasonably priced menu. Waitstaff was very pleasant. I had mussels that weren't great, kind a mealy, like maybe they had been frozen? My wife's salmon tartar did not taste fresh. I'm not saying don't go, just that you should calibrate your expectations and focus on the visual and interpersonal aspects rather than the culinary.

Food was okay; kid's spaghetti sauce was actually too sweet, and mussels were kind of bland. Server was RUDE! Rushed, dismissive, no check-ins, and even waved in my nephew's face to get his attention faster (and we were after the lunch rush)

A great find right below the Chateau. The food was prepared nicely. Stopped by for lunch and to get out of the crisp wind. Service was fantastic as well. It got busier. Worth the walk.

I’m enjoyed my food there. Service was nice and quick. We had chocolate crepe, apple and cheese crepe, ham and cheese crepe, and poutine. My favorite item was crepe with apple and cheese. Poutine was good but something about it was missing.

We got the three course fondu dinner for two: first cheese (you dip bread in it). Then beef (thin slices that you dip in broth). Then chocolate (into which you dip fruit). Excellent. I think my favorite part of the meal was the mustard maple sauce for the beef. It's a lot of food, though. If you don't eat a whole lot, you could probablly order it for one and share. Super friendly service.

Superb Strawberry Blueberry Crepe with Raspberry Sauce. We were there Sept., 10th, 2023 on a Bus Tour from NH (Etas Uni) & my Tour Director & a friend stopped in for quick lunch. Laurie was our waitress & she was fantastic. Food was pricey, compared to NH, but quality was superb.

9/9/23 review: I loved the atmosphere here! Outdoor terrace with flowers and umbrellas. My Nutella and banana crepe was wonderful! My SO’s chicken sandwich was good; he would have preferred fried chicken-we didn’t realize that the chicken was grilled-but it was good. Our server was friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We love fondue and we were drawn to spend one of the couple nights we had in Quebec here. The patio outside seemed like a good ambience and we went for a try. We had to wait on a line for about 10-15 min to speak with a hostess. He then informed us that they were not serving fondue for the patio tables, so if we wanted we would have to sit inside. We imagined that we would sit inside by some glass doors that were opened and we accepted. Unfortunately we had to sit in some other area that had nothing special and felt uncomfortable. We ordered a cheese fondue which was good but nothing special. Patrice was our server and he was very friendly - for him I would give a 4 stars review. It just seemed that they were understaffed and we needed to wait a bit longer than usual.

If you want a Fondue experience to remember, Le Petit Chateau is a must! Servers are very helpful and want you to have the best experience possible, we had a 3 course fondue dinner, started with cheese then i chose beef for my main and of course chocolate for desert. This was a dinner experience i wont forget.

Great ambiance, lovely to sit outside on a sunny day. Really enjoyed the charcuterie board and the crepe. The chicken in the salad was dry and the nachos could have used more cheese.

Absolutely shocked at how poor the food and service was. We made the 10hr road trip to Quebec City so excited for dinner but that never happened. We waited over an hour for the beef fondue which wasn't great at all for the cost of this. The dessert... I could do a better job! The Chocolate fondue wasn't chocolate it was hot chocolate. I am very disappointed in myself for spending my hard earned money here! Please guys do your homework and look at reviews before attending.

We sat inside so we could have the raclette which isn't available on the patio. The inside is very hot as there is no ac. The raclette was a great experience to try once. The cheese was super tasty, sadly the sides that go with it were not the greatest, baked potato, mini pickles, pickled onions, baby carrots and sliced ham. Staff were nice and helpful. Was fun to say we experienced raclette in a great location, but I would not go back.

The perfect cheap and cheerful spot.. I really enjoyed my meal here. Right by all the sightseeing in old Quebec without the pretention. I had the La Fracaise w a demi - sec prosecco.

We ordered cheese and mashrooms crepe, chicken crepe and chocolate banana crepe for dessert. The chicken was overly cooked but the crepes were awesome. Alex the server was very nice and made our experience even better.

Frozen burger. Added on a poutine to the burger instead of fries and a small amount of cheese and gravy cost an extra 5 dollars, crepes were fine. Could’ve went to Wendy’s and got better food for less. Service you had to search for. Don’t get tricked there’s much better places. 50 dollars for just 2 plates. Not worth it

The location is convenient and the fondue is tasty, however the prices seem very high and the service is slow. This is a bit of a tourist trap, but the food is good and there is an patio so if you don’t mind higher prices for convenience check it out.

Our usual fondue spot was full for the evening so we booked a reservation here last minute. I will say the other reviews made me skeptical but the fondue was great! The service was wonderful. Our waitress was prompt and answered any questions we had. The location was close to our hotel and very lively. Overall a wonderful surprise!

This is our go to place every time we visit old Quebec. Crepes are always awesome. This time we had the fondue dinner. Started with cheese fondue with bread. Next was chicken fondue, then we finished with a chocolate fondue with fruit. They usually had a guy that sat there all day playing guitar and singing but I understand that he retired after I think 33 years!! He was awesome! Will be missed when we return next year.

My wife and I were completing a trip through N Quebec with a stop in Quebec City so we chose to return to Le Petit Ch. for dinner. We had been there before having had a great experience it was a no brainer. This time not only were the crepes outstanding so was our server Eric. Thank you Eric for making our evening memorable. Great place. Came here with eight other people and they took us in. The service was fast and the food is good quality (delicious crepes). Waiters are friendly as well. We had little time to eat so the speed of the service was convenient as well. Highly recommend.

We came without reservation on January 1st and they managed to accommodate us (a family of three). Outstanding and friendly service! We had the fondue trio: cheese fondue with bread (we also order vegetables), beef and chocolate. We loved the cheese fondue, the beef and chocolate ones were ok. Conclusion: cheese fondue is a must. It is worth coming back just for a big cheese one!

Lots of mixed reviews for this restaurant. We had a wonderful time. We were two families with kids. The service was excellent and the food was on point!! My favorite was the cheese fondue. For desert we experienced their maple fondue which for me was a first. Excellent!! Everyone had fun and our meal was very reasonably priced. Friendly staff, good service, great food!! Looking forward to coming back in the future.
