Amazing view and the château is breathtaking. Lots of charms and details. Absolutely a must see feature when in Quebec City. Few years ago they opened a little museum under the side yard also worth visiting. For a little fee

Easy to buy tickets, right at the kiosk next to the Musee du Fort. The staff were all helpful and friendly. There were two English tours on the Monday we were there. The tour lasted an hour. These excavations are more extensive and “complete” than I thought, meaning that you are not just looking at dig spots…..entire floor plans and rooms have been excavated, and you walk about 200 feet underground through what used to be the governor’s “castle” (it was really just a nice, big house from the 1630s to the 1830s, with several different “editions” of it constructed. You walk through a doorway that still has most of its wooden casement frame intact. The guide focused too much on how the Whites tried to work with the natives…..political correctness has infected every institution, alas. But despite that, the tour was still good. Ideal for ages 10 and up.

Join the guided tour to the St. Louis Chateau which right below the terasse in front of chateau frontenac. You can find a lot of artifacts and knowing the history of the building before.

Fablous piece of history being unearthed, under the boardwalk, for people to discover.

This is a large widespread site as it stretches all across old Quebec City. There are many parts of the fort to explore at many different points. The main area has the old barracks and officers residences. There's an old bakery on site done up in the old interior of a few hundred years ago. The people that were working here seemed to enjoy their positions and were very informative. We also took in the video at the visitor center building. Lots to read about the history of the City. Its strategic importance to both the French and later the British. As well as its cultural importance to Canada. A few hours are needed to explore this place properly. I do recommend going below for the tour of the Chateau which is right in front of the Fairmont.

We took a guided tour of Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site and had a great time. The guide was knowledgeable and did an excellent job of keeping us engaged. The site's history is exciting, and seeing what's left is impressive. This is an educational tour, and we highly recommend it.

We didn’t do a tour, just walked through and read the information available. It was neat to see but not a “must do.” Might be really boring for kids, not a lot of stuff to interact with.

Its just an amazing experience to see that what could possibly be built 3-400 years ago, the architect and engineering is amazing. The Jar/Vase in the site is more than 200 years old. Definitely visit if you like history or engineering. The fridge is the famous attraction in there.

Very good value for the experience. We did the tour that cost $8 and included an hour tour. I loved that you could walk up and touch the ruins. Highly recommend

I do love history, seeing this place was quite cool. It is an underground museum of the original Chateau Louis from mid 1700's. There are lots of interactive information that tells you about each room in the cellar. They have exhibits of artefacts dating from mid 1700's, the time Louis built and lived in the chateau, to the 1800's with the final inhabitants of English aristocracy. Because the chateau burned down in mid 1800's, the only part of it that remained is the underground cellar where the servants worked, cooking meals and doing laundering. It is a very important piece of Quebec's history, well worth to go and see if you like historical preservation. The cost is very agreeable.

This was cool if you like history and old ruins. Loved it. The Xplorers booklet taught my kids lots and kept them interested as well. A few of the activities (dressing up) weren't available when we were there, which disappointed the kids.

This museum of archaeological artifacts is fabulous. The construction under the boardwalk is fascinating, the interactive displays are well conceived, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The price is very reasonable. My wife, sister, and myself were engaged for at least two hours. I highly recommend this museum.

This was such an amazing place to visit. The atmosphere was incredible. When I went they were setting off fireworks across the river. There are many tourists and it is very crowded at sometimes. But we'll worth the wait for the food near

You can take a peek at the ruins below from the terrace. There is a sort of "sunroof" that allows you to look below. However, the guided tour would have been great so we could see it all.

It's cool seeing what was on the site of Dufferin Terrace but it's only really for history buffs in my opinion.
