We booked our room 7 weeks in advance and were charged in full when booking to take advantage of a promotion the hotel was putting on. Upon arrival we were the fortunate ones (I guess) as we got room #1. What a terrible room. Bathroom is so small and shower is beyond ridiculous. Paint peeling and chipping all over the place. Coffee make did not work, but, when I mentioned this to front desk I was told I didn't know how to work it and try again. I did and still didn't work so I left the 2 cups of coffee grounds sitting in the machine for the housekeeper to clean after we put the sign on the door which indicated room needed cleaning (as per the instruction posted on the door). Ooops, they forgot to mention there is no housekeeping services provided due to Covid, yet the cleaning person was cleaning the room of our travelling friends at that time. The man at the desk advised me that just can't happen and as he said "maybe they just got lucky". REALLY!!! Easy to understand the no cleaning, but, let your guests know! And by the way, that promotion they put on never did materialize. Front desk blamed some other company as it was nothing to do with them? I urge you to look over their website and find alternate accommodations for your stay in that great city. We have been traveling in North America, Caribbean and Europe for over 40 years and have never had such a poor hospitality experience. Stay away from this place....

Save yourself some heartache and from ruining your trip by staying at this property! They want you to believe that it is a quaint hotel with European charm but what you get is old furniture that looks as if found outside by the garbage and what could possibly be a bullet shot through the window. Would have been great to have been in the way or maybe even a loved one. Oh yes, they did not even bother to fix it. I have video and pictures to prove it. We asked if we could change rooms, of course "No." We asked if there was some way to fix with duct tape. Their solution, "Close the curtains." We noped out of there within the hour. Of course because of their greediness we are not getting any kind of refund. No help from Expedia as well!

Great location but the rooms on the 3rd floor are extremly tight and hard to get to with bags and luggage. There is no staff on site as of 7pm to 9am and the front door gets locked. Each guest receives a key to access the hotel after hours. Breakfast was very good.

Beautiful location! The room was also decent. The only complaint was that we had to figure out how to turn on the heat by ourselves. When I asked the receptionist, they just changed the thermostat to heat and mentioned it will turn on after sometime; that did not happen and the receptionist had already left. Apparently heat had a separate thermostat control.

Had a pleasant stay during the Canada weekend. Hotel is located at the center of the old Quebec, close to many attractions. Room was super clean and spacious. They provided shampoo, conditioner, soap and even makeup remover wipes along with cotton pads and q tips. Owner was also very nice and welcoming.

Poor rooms, very expensive for room only. No disabled access, steep stairways to all floors. One of our party had bare electric wires showing from the back of electric plug which was away from the wall. Dangerous bathroom as there were no anti slip mats in the bath/shower, water taps were loose, I slipped and fell, badly bruising my back and hip area, also a severe nose bleed from the fall. Contacted reception, was offered breakfast as compensation but where and how we would have got it was a mystery, because they had no breakfast facility.

I stayed here this November (2023) Their location is a 5 star. Quiet area but really close to everything. The hotel itself is lacking in many ways. Maintenance is suffering both inside and out. We didn’t feel that we were taking care of. Just given a room is all. The stairway is very narrow up to our room and we had to navigate all 45 of them many times. We will be looking for another accommodation if we return to beautiful Quebec City

I booked the hotel via travel app, everything is confirmed as easy as it did. My room is at first floor, but not much noise at all, quiet zone signs is everywhere in the hotel. Room is clean and the power outlet is everywhere on the wall, no need to worry about where to find the plug in like other franchise hotels. Bright rooms and love the location, so easy to access the main attractions. Parking is next door at Chateau hotel. $50 (24 hrs) in month of August. *Except my niece's room, she found a few hairs at the bed sheet, hope that can be improved.

We loved our stay for one night. The room was clean and comfortable and cozy. The only warning is that the shower is on the small side. We were able to use it just fine but if you are on the bigger side, you might not fit. ;) but other than that, the room was wonderful and we will definitely stay there again.

The location is great. The rooms are decent, but the bathroom was quite small. Unfortunately, there is no soundproofing whatsoever, so all day above me I could hear steps, conversations, coughing, zippers opening and closing on luggages, etc...

Excellent location, our room was very cute and reasonably priced, staff were friendly. The shower was pretty small and leaked a little around the bottom, otherwise would have given 5 stars

Getting your bags for a 10 day cruise up their very steep and very narrow staircase was grueling!!! The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view, but they were old and really no amenities. It was next door to the Chateaux de Frontenac which was nice.

We LOVED our stay here. We've been to Quebec City many times, but this was our first time staying at this property. I was a bit worried based on other reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was a big, clean room with an amazing view. While we were told there would be no housekeeping during our 3 night stay, we were happy come back on our third day to a freshened up room. The beds were so comfortable and we had a great sleep. The property is well looked after, but not perfect, but we didn't mind - much of the wear is expected. Our limited interaction with staff was very pleasant. We are definitely going to make this our go to hotel from now on. Thank you!

Charming Gem in Old Quebec City Initially hesitant due to mixed reviews, my stay at Hotel Jardin Du Gouverneur turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The spacious and spotless rooms, coupled with a serene atmosphere, provided a comfortable retreat. The incredible location only enhanced the overall experience. While reception was unmanned upon our arrival, clear and accessible instructions, along with our key cards, were provided in an envelope. Practical details for nearby parking were also included. The staircase challenge, mentioned in reviews, is valid, but ground-floor options are available upon request. Despite this, I was thoroughly delighted with the hotel and would gladly return.

Great hotel stay in the heart of Quebec City, with the only issue being tiny tiny showers, everything else was perfect, comfy beds, free coffee in the lobby, and great location.

The rooms and staff are lovely. Just worth noting that there is no elevator, so we had to take our luggage up the stairs.

Best location as the building is on the same block as the Château Frontenac. Rooms are tidy and clean if a bit dated but for the price, you can't go wrong. We'd definitely go back!

Nice rooms, great location for old Town Quebec. No elevator and stairs to upper rooms are hazardous due to lack of railings. Small common area with coffee machine but no other amenities.

Worst bathroom and toilet. Avoid staying there.

Small rooms, had some cobwebs on the light fixtures, bathroom is super small and has a sliding door that is not designed to lock. The shower cabin can just barely hold a small person. Very over priced. There is a breakfast coupon that you get for a restaurant 10minutes walk from the place
