We stayed in the 'small double room' in May and had a very pleasant experience. Although this particular room choice is snug, it felt warm and inviting, with a beautiful little balcony where we had the provided coffee in the morning. Little thoughts like milk provided in the fridge, decent coffee pods, and easy to use AC/Heat were welcomed. Very clean and well kept, staff were helpful, and the overall feel was consistent with the history surrounding this hotel. Our goal was to feel like we were really taking in the culture of Old Quebec, and this place delivered! A nice short walk to water views, and all the restaurants you'll need.

Charming hotel with lots of history and culture all around. The room itself was amazing, there was a big bathtub in the bedroom which was a fun surprise. beautiful view and neighbourhood. Highly recommend!

We took two rooms under our friends name. The mattress was wear down and we could not sleep on it. The owner was dishonest and claimed it was new, refusing to replace it. Both rooms were tiny. There was no space to put our luggages. The pictures in the site does not represent how small the rooms are. There was a bad smell in the bathroom and toilet. There is no cleanup in the room between nights. There is no safe in the rooms.

Limited amenities made this a less than satisfactory stay. My daughter (who is disabled) wanted a bath on the evening we checked in and there was no plug for the tub! No areas outside of the room to sit other than in the very cramped reception area. This made it uncomfortable for me as an early riser travelling with a daughter who needs to sleep in. The claim that English, French and Mandarin is spoken involved 2 different front desk staff. The person there during weekdays had very little English nor interest in trying. I used my limited French to request housekeeping in the afternoon. The response was a hard no!! Ended up leaving the garbage in the hallway as the only way to get it emptied. On our last day at 11:15 am, we were told that check out was at 11:00 and they had other guests for the room. There was no mention of this in the check-in process but we were assured it was in the fine print. I felt no sense of hospitality overall and this outweighed the advantages offered by the location. Next time, I will go outside of the gates of old Quebec to find a hotel with amenities. Its such a compressed area that everything is within walking distance.

The location is excellent, 2 minutes walk to Dufferin Terrace & 2 minutes more to the Château Frontenac! Older building in good condition. Anna from Reception who greeted us was kind, helpful & very attentive. We had the Condo on two floors with an open space on the second level for living room/kitchen/Dinette area. Ideal for us as there was a Murphy Bed in Living area for our adult son. However, my understanding was there was a full kitchen but there is no longer a kitchen range, so we had just the use of an electric frying pan for our breakfast. We made do & everything else was fine.

Be warned, this hotel has no front desk or after hours staff to reach in case of emergencies (it's also not mentioned up front when you book). My flight was delayed and I arrived 2 hours later than expected (left a note about my ETA at time of booking, but was unable to contact hotel after I realized there would be a delay as we were already en route). Arrived and found a note for me at hotel entrance to open the lockbox (which has a combination lock on it) and a number to call in case of emergency. How am I supposed to open the lockbox if I don't know the number combination? Tried calling the emergency number provided several times, but it kept going to voicemail. Same thing when calling the hotel's phone number. And just like that I found myself on the street at midnight on a cold windy night, in an unfamiliar city to me, scrambling to find a place to stay at the very last minute. This is unacceptable and no customer deserves this.

This was my first trip as an adult to Old Quebec City, and Manoir Sur Le Cap seemed to check all of the boxes for a nice place to stay. The check in process is simple, and the lobby feels more like an old home than a hotel, but that’s to be expected. The desk attendant was friendly, bilingual, and walked us through the check-in/check-out process without issue. The room itself was cute. Nicely equipped, big bathroom with a tub that could easily fit two. Little TV with cable, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, etc. Towels and provided toiletries were very high quality. Comfortable bed, decent quality linens and heavy blankets. Only gripe was that our particular room was very narrow which made getting in and out of bed a little tight, but not a huge deal for most people. The location is pretty sweet. It’s a block away from the boardwalk. There’s a small park directly across the street and beyond that is the historical centrepiece of Quebec City, the hotel Chateau Frontenac. It’s also less than a block away from the US Consulate (pretty much next door), so it’s a secure location as the Consulate has guards patrolling 24/7. It’s also located less than 50m away from the Citadel, another major (major) historical area. Will definitely be back.

We have stayed at Manoir Sur Le Cap a few times now and love its site in the vieille ville. Room 56 is spacious and comfortable although the bathroom is very small, the shower is a decent size. The addition of a ceiling fan is great when you need to escape the heat of the afternoon and rest your feet for those long evening walks. There are few amenities but balanced with the location, the Manoir is clean, comfortable and welcoming - excellent value for money.

It was a nice experience to stay at this hotel with family. Location is top class and all attractions in old Quebec are at a walking distance from here. Hotel was nice, cozy, clean and support staff were very helpful. They accomodated an early check in and parking was also provided in the premises. Kitchenette was also very useful.

The best room I stayed in! The bath in the corner was to die for, the room was adorable and spacious. The whole hotel smelled really good also. Oh! And the location is so great, you have this gorgeous view of the Château Frontenac which is even more beautiful at night. Special mention to the lady at the desk who gave us the exact room we wanted. Defnitely recommend this place!

This is my fourth or fifth visit to Manoir Sur-le-Cap, and it never disappoints! The king size room had wonderful lighting with big windows that had a view of the chateau, the park and the river. They include thoughtful amenities like wine glasses and a keurig and even Q-tips. They assisted with questions I had about parking prior to arriving so I was prepared. The room was beautiful and quiet. The staff helpful. It’s a short walk to all the major attractions of the old city. It’s truly my happy place. First stayed 20 years ago in their “condo” for a week, and have since stayed in various rooms every 5 years or so when we return to celebrate our Anniversary. This year we stayed in the William Felton no. 56 and it was perfect. Thank you!

Returning guest. Comfortable beds, well appointed rooms with refrigerator, helpful, courteous staff. Great location, on quiet street looking on to a park and the Frontenac Hotel. Great value, my hotel of choice in Old Quebec.

Location was perfect for us in mid-March, across a park from Chateau Frontenac and close to everything. Maria was a great resource and fun to talk with. Hotel is clean and orderly, rooms are homey, nothing fancy, but what you need- exactly a 3 star place. Plenty of heat- we turned off one radiator. Beds were comfy, bathrooms are tiny as expected. Noise travels a bit through the rooms (doors of our rooms did not quite fit the frame), but it's an adult clientele and quiet enough. Offsite parking is close and very reasonable. We would absolutely stay at Manoir Sur Le Cap again.

  • 4/5 Jessica F. 1 year ago on Google
We picked Manoir Sur Le Cap based on location, price and its uniqueness. We stayed on the top floor in Room 14. The room was nicely decorated and far from the standard hotel chain you would normally see. We had a beautiful view of the Frontenac, and it was close enough to walk to all the places we had planned to visit during our trip. The stairs are a little uneven, but likely due to the age of the building. It can be a little hard on those with knee problems after walking through the streets of Old Quebec. Like most places, pillows are not great, so if comfy pillows as a must, bring your own. As stated on the website, there isn't any overnight staff. For us, we knew this before arrival and didn't mind the intimacy this had on the overall stay. The only puzzling thing is the check in. The website states that check in at 4 PM. Hotel staff will ask you when you will arrive, which is fine, but sometimes delays happen. I emailed the hotel the morning of our arrival that we may be delayed for another 45 minutes. Staff promptly emailed me back with a lock code number to retrieve my keys (which was fine) but told me that there was no staff after 12:30 PM because it was a slow day. I think the hotel should advise on their website that they will email you the code if there is a chance no one will be at the front desk at the stated check in time, or the time you have indicated you will arrive by. I am glad I had gotten the code, but wondered if I had gotten it if I hadn't emailed. All in all, we would absolutely still recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Old Quebec for the first time to really feeling immersed in the experience of being on one of Canada's oldest cities.

My sister and I stayed in the "condo." It was exactly what we were looking for. You walk in, take a flight of stairs up to the bedroom level, which includes a bathroom and a queen size bed. You take another set of stairs to the upper floor, which has a kitchen, living room and murphy bed. It is quaint and charming with modern amenities, which is exactly what we wanted. There is a small park which separates it from the Frontenac, and the location allowed us to walk anywhere we wanted to go very easily. I can't speak to any of the other rooms, but we loved our "condo." If stairs are hard for you, they do have other rooms on lower levels.

Enjoyed my stay! 5 nights while attending our national RE/MAX event which was held at the Frontenac - Manoir sur le Cap was just a few minutes walk away. The room was cozy, clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the interactions I had with staff and look forward to return visits.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in your hotel. Although not very big, it was fine. Bed was comfy, bathroom looked pretty new and everything worked great. Your staff were very friendly and accommodating. Not one single issue. And the location is fantastic. Just a 2 minute walk to the Dufferin Terrace on the St.Lawrence River, a short walk across the park and you are at the Chateau Frontenac Hotel, and the Citadel right next door. Thank You so much, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our stay in the Condo (August 12-16, 2022) was sensational. We were thrilled with the location and were able to land a parking spot at the door after the first night (the public parking is only 5 min away but having in and out privileges was an added bonus). Situated right behind the Chateau Frontenac, everything is close by. We even found a laundry about 6 minutes away - so easy. The condo is well appointed, the Murphy Bed works for a teenager, the outside view of the St. Laurence is the perfect place to end a busy day with a glass of wine. Quiet, all amenities (fridge with freezer, electric griddle for easy fast dinners, microwave and coffee maker. It is a full flight up to the bedroom / bathroom and another full flight up to the living area/murphy bed, so be ready to climb! Our hosts were friendly and helpful - we'll be back! It was the icing on the 10 day trip!

Reception is good. you will get parking for extra $, right next to the building. Guess you get what you paid for. this hotel is the economical at excellent location. right opposite to the castle and 10 steps away to river viewing point, rope way.

Great for short stay; walls a bit thin so you can hear your neighbors. Location is great too; close to river Ma chambre était bien rangée.

We could not have asked for a better experience than we had at this hotel. We received the sweetest welcome from Anna Maria when we arrived and the Condo in this hotel simply could not have been a nicer place to stay. There was plenty of space for our family of four and the feel of the place was perfect for Quebec City. Amazing value for money, we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. The location just above the boardwalk could not have been more convenient. There was even a view of the river which we did not expect. If you book the Condo this is a terrific place to stay. Highly recommended!

Spent 3 nights, 4 days as a mom and daughter holiday. Overall we were in love with the 'condo'. For a less active or limited mobile person, the number of stairs are quite a lot. I say this, as a heads up, no complaining. It is a beautiful residence. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Enjoy your stay, we loved it :)

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Manoir Sur Le Cap. The rooms were large and clean and our hotel is only a couple blocks from the Metro. The staff here are also very helpful and we were pleasantly surprised they had a continental breakfast, something the hotel should make sure to better advertise.

While the location is ideal for exploring the city the building is getting a little tired. Charming at first, you then begin to notice the electrical extension cords, the cracked washroom sinks and the black mold in the corner of the shower. The door hardware could also use some updating. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and smelled fine. The neighbourhood is very quiet. We picked an expensive time to visit, but I am sure if we looked around a bit more we could have found a nicer place.

Clean, quiet and comfortable accommodation in the historic heart of old Quebec. We stayed in room 1 on the first floor near the front door, but the thick stone walls kept out noise, even the loud music of the summer music festival happening on the Plains of Abraham. The air conditioning was great, beds were comfortable, staff were helpful and the rain shower head was much appreciated. We loved making our way over to Rue St Jean every morning to choose from a plethora of cafes for our breakfast. We could see the Chateau Frontenac from our room and the Dufferin Terrace was a minute’s walk from our front door. We are already planning our return!

We loved the building, the room and everything about the place. Very safe, easy check in and out, everything required apart from spoons? (I think that is just a general North American thing however. Very thankful and happy with our stay!

Fabulous location. Walking distance from everything. Room was cozy, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It had a very European vibe...perfect vibe for visiting that area. Parking is an additional $20 per day. Would stay again.

This was our first visit to Quebec. My husband found this quaint little hotel on an internet search...and what a little gem. Located in Old Quebec directly behind the Chateau Frontenac and overlooking a little park. We could not have asked for a better location. The staff was so helpful, allowing us to store our luggage, as our cruise ship dropped us off at 9a...until 4p check-in. The room was so charming with all the amenities, comfy beds and a view of the park. Location was near all the activities we were looking for - the Chateau, the Terrace, the Funicular and many many restaurants.

Nice location close to old Quebec. Check in and out was easy. Room is a little on the smaller side, and lots of stairs if you are on one of the top floors but a good place to stay if you want to be close to Old Quebec and the river.

We stayed in room 4 of this quaint and period decorated hotel. A lot of antiques or vintage pieces are here and there. The walls show some of the original stone work as this hotel dates back to 1837 I believe. This hotel is not accessible friendly and there is no parking on site. There are 2 parking garages within about 5 minute walk and rates are between $20 and $22 per day. The very quiet and affordable room we stayed in was on the second floor and had two double beds in separate rooms which was convenient. Only one room had a t.v. though and that was also where the AC was located so that room was far cooler than the separate room. Windows in both rooms opened so had a chance at catching a breeze and fresh air. The second room has a Keurig and a fridge as well as a desk. The bathroom was updated and modern with usual toiletries supplied as well as enough towels. There is no elevator so if you're on higher floors, you'll have to climb the staircases. Our room did not have a balcony or outside seating area but appeared many did so if you want to sit out, be sure to ask for a specific room to do so. There is no food within the hotel but there are many restaurants within walking distance. If you carry a lot of gadgets that require electricity, be prepared to unplug a lamp or two as there aren't many outlets. Read all the notices here and there in the room so you'll know how to work the AC, that ice is available in the lobby and so on. We stayed two nights and our rooms weren't automatically made up or replenished after the first day so I'm thinking that, due to Covid, services and supplies need to be requested as needed. Not a big deal in our world. :-) Also, we were only supplied with one set of keys and I'm not certain a second could be had so you may have to coordinate with others in your party if you go on separate adventures. There is a nice park across the street with plenty of benches and even black walnut trees. Many people walk their doggos so you may meet a new friend. You'll also be within walking distance of the Boardwalk and views of the water and city below. You can walk to Vieux Québec from here and see so many sights, stores, restaurants and buskers/artists at work and play. Overall, a nice historic place of simplicity that gets 4 stars because it met the standard that we reserved for.

  • 4/5 Elaine Y. 2 years ago on Google
Quite a small room, but the balcony helps to expand the space, if it happens to be a nice day for sitting outside! Clean, comfortable bed, all the necessary amenities.....be sure to drop off your luggage BEFORE you find the parking, otherwise it is a two block walk. We were challenged to get into the parking garage the next morning with our access card, but figured it out. Can't dispute the great location and close proximity to everything beautiful about Quebec City.

My experience here was exactly as advertised. I was very satisfied with the service and accommodation. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The room and spaces surrounding are very neat and clean. I wanted a quaint little room and it exactly what I got! It is a charming historic building and the features all blend together well. I loved my balcony view! The location is so central with the Château right across but still situated in a perfectly quiet part of town. The only drawback, if I had to point one, is the level of the bathroom sink. I'm not tall at all but even I struggled. It added to the charm though. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • 4/5 Tiffany W. 2 years ago on Google
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was quite large and we were able to get a King sized bed. The bed itself was extremely hard and the frame squeaky, so not the most comfortable-but manageable for a few nights. Bathroom small but modern with sink, toilet and stand up shower. Tub is outside the bathroom in the main area. Beautiful big windows that open and give you a lovely view of a park with the Fairmont behind it. Easy to walk pretty much everywhere. You can be on the promenade within a 2 min walk. This is an old building, no elevator, no real frills, but was fine for us for what we were looking for.

  • 1/5 Paul S. 2 years ago on Google
Dirty doors to room, looks like an office building in the rooms, staff is one person who will not there half the time. I asked for clean wine glasses on my second night and I was told to clean them myself. Pictures online are not what you get. Low quality couch, drapes, and furniture. Looks like a garage sale. This place is a 2 star at best. Great location though.

  • 4/5 K C. 2 years ago on Google
The room was charming (old brick walls, antique marble fireplace) but very small. There was barely enough room to get out of bed without hitting the fireplace in order to get to the bathroom. The room had clearly been a larger room split in two. The receptionist was polite but not friendly.

  • 4/5 Courtney J. 2 years ago on Google
Perfect location to stay in for Quebec City. Nice brick wall in the room. Good mini fridge. The room was very tight for space.

  • 5/5 Queade Di I. 2 years ago on Google
We were at the top of the stairs. Not for the faint of heart and best not to bring too much luggage. The room has antique furniture and a modern bathroom. Being at the top means the best view and the quietest nights with no footsteps above. Rooms are clean and roomy with a Keurig Coffee maker and wee fridge. The Hotel is perfectly situated across the park from the Frontenac Hotel, close to the boardwalk and all activities in Old Quebec City.. yet off beside the Citadel and quiet. The best of both worlds; near activity and quiet. A perfect location for staying in the amazing city.

A lovely stay! The room was small, but had drawers and a place to hang clothes and coats. It was very clean and the bathroom was new and the water pressure good. The bed was firm and very comfortable. It is right behind Chateau Frontenac and close to all the sights and shopping areas, we parked our car and walked the whole weekend. The Internet was great, we could stream from our laptop to the TV with the provided HDMI cable.

Unfortunately the pictures on the Hotels.com website do not show the true picture. The accommodations were fine, but a little disappointing for the price we paid. The floor in the room we stayed in was unlevel and caused my vertigo to be a problem. The hallways etc were not well kept and welcoming. It needs a good paint job, new carpeting etc. the office area seems like you are entering a back room in a low price run down hotel. Not what I expected at all. Sorry but I would not recommend your hotel to anyone. Yes it is close to everything and room itself for sleeping was satisfactory. You need to clean the baseboards in the bathroom, they look like they have not been cleaned in many many years. It was very disgusting for me.

Staff was so kind upon our arrival, made us feel very welcomed. The placement of this hotel is perfect. Cozy little room. The historical aspect to the entire building is fascinating and you can feel it in the stone walls. I'd definitively stay again!

We spent 3 nights at Manoir Sur le Cap in early October. Our room looked across the park at Chateau Frontenac--beautiful. Located away from the city center our stay was quiet which was wonderful after a long day of walking around the city. Either there were few guests staying at the same time as us or the rooms are well insulated because we rarely heard others in the hallways. Our room was on the third level, I believe. The room was quite small which was expected but made for some juggling of space when moving about the room. The bathroom was very nice but we had to be very cautious climbing out of the combination shower and tub due to the high sides. Great water pressure and temp, though. Unfortuately there was no maid service but the front desk was very quick in providing us with extra towels, coffee when we asked. I would definitely make sure to ask for a room with a view of Frontenac and yes, we would stay there again.

This was my temporary home in Quebec City for the weekend and I must say that this place made my visit to Canada very enjoyable. The room had a king size bed, a park view and a view of the castle (Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac) as well. Every morning I was able to wake up to a beautiful view of the snow in the park/castle and a hot cup of coffee with one of my favorite pastries from one of the shops from around the corner. If I ever return to Quebec City, I would love to stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay in a very winter wonderland city!

The room had big windows with bright sunlight, which was great, a bit expensive for the size/ amenities provided. I guess the location determines it; it was conveniently located near landmarks. The concierge during my check-in was helpful and great, but the other one was very unfriendly and unhelpful. They were not at the desk and were unwilling to assist either, weird.

Rooms were very small but was not a issue. No elevator and steps were very dangerous. NO hot water in morning for showers. Would NoT recommend this hotel if you come to visit old Quebec City. Do your homework and read reviews. Alot better hotels to stay and see this beautiful old Quebec city.

Right across the park from the Chateau Frontenac, close to lots of nice shops and restaurants. The bed was comfy, and the building has lots of character. Be aware that there's no elevator, (great spiral staircase!), and the room was small, but had all I needed, including full bathroom. My bed was never made during my stay - likely because at the times I left there was no one at the desk to inform of my departure, as requested by the sign on the wall. Another minor quibble-I couldn't figure out how to open the window to my little balcony.

  • 3/5 Buffy S. 1 year ago on Google
The location is beautiful. The building is lovely but the maintenance needs to be improved. There was no knob on the shower controls, just a screw sticking up. There was debris and hair in on the floor between the sink and the wall. There was blue toothpaste on the wall next to the sink. I got the feeling that if they left rather obvious dirt such as this, what were they leaving that I did not notice. They did not clean the room during the days we were there and when I asked for our 2 washcloths to be replaced the clerk seemed put out. There was no instruction as to our trash so it just piled up in the room. Also, the coffee etc were never replenished and no offer or instructions on how to replace.

A wonderful old building with lots of charm. Easy check-in, check-out. Room was clean. Kind staff and perfect location. The only thing that would have made it better is less of a perfumed smell from air fresheners but this would not stop me from staying there again.

We had a great time at this hotel, everything was awesome, the staff was courteous and nice, the rooms were clean and so beautiful we had to take pictures! We will go back again. The decor is very charming, it’s like the old days when Quebec was just beginning… Very romantic!

Lovely little boutique hotel right next to the Hotel Frontenac. Nicely appointed but the real treat (especially since covid) was glass highball, wine glasses and coffee mugs. Very nice touch. Will recommend to others.

What a great little hotel. Staff was so accommodating with our earlier arrival even though lots was happening with a cruise ship in town. Room with king bed was surprising large and very comfortable. Convenient to all of old Quebec City, easy to walk but this is a city of hills. Wonderful park across the street, perfect for picnic watching people on the terrace and ship in the river. 5 star location, 5 star service but not 5 star price.

Location was convenient. We walked everywhere for 4 days. View of the park and Chateau Frontenac is great. The hotel is close to tourist attractions and nearby restaurants. The park buffer results in the hotel being peaceful, exactly what we wanted. The room was bright clean and as advertised. The staff were helpful and attentive. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

We have stayed at most of the little hotels around the old city and this is one of the nicest. There is no breakfast included but that doesn't matter because there are wonderful restaurants all around. Breakfast at hotels is overrated. The room is warm, clean and cozy. The building is a bit quirky which is part of the appeal. We stay at hotels for a good night's sleep and great location not for lots of unnecessary amenities. I always bring warm slippers when staying in the old city because some of the hotels can be chilly but not here. If anything, we were actually a bit warm, but we turned the heat down and cracked the window for a few minutes to get to the perfect temperature. This hotel offered us everything that we needed and was super cute! The location is perfect for walking around the city. Close enough to everything but just a touch out of the way to make it a bit quiet. There is very little vehicle traffic in the road. All the staff members were kind and so helpful. They made everything easy and enjoyable. Thanks for a great stay. We will definitely come back.
