3
star
was
based
on
the
very
basic
nature
of
the
hotel.
This
hotel
had
a
good
location
for
visiting
Old
Quebec
City
and
is
close
to
restaurants
and
shopping.
Reserved
a
larger
room
with
2
queen
beds
and
a
living
room
with
sofa.
In
the
bedroom
room
of
the
suite,
none
of
the
bed
side
lamps
were
working.
One
lamp
was
missing
the
bulb.
There
were
no
other
light
sources
in
the
bedroom
so
the
bedroom
was
dark.
The
room
also
felt
stuffy.
Due
to
this
problem,
when
raised
to
the
front
desk,
I
was
assigned
a
different
room
in
which
everything
was
working
properly.
Rooms
were
generally
tidy,
however
very
sparsely
equipped.
I
noted
that
there
was
no
in-room
kettle
or
coffee
and
tea
set.
Coffee
and
tea
was
available
from
the
lobby.
Microwave
has
to
be
used
to
boil
water
in-room
but
there
were
no
microwave
safe
cups,
only
thin
disposable
plastic
cups.
There
was
not
even
the
typical
hotel
note
pad
and
pens.
The
included
continental
breakfast
set
included
a
choice
of
sandwich
(ham,
bacon
or
chocolate
chip),
a
yogurt,
a
juice,
a
piece
of
cheese
and
fruit.
Officially,
only
one
set
per
guest,
no
seconds.
I
found
this
policy
rather
stingy.
The
hotel
staff
I
found
to
be
polite
and
accommodated
by
bad
French,
using
English
for
my
convenience.
While
the
hotel
served
its
function
for
a
place
to
stay,
it
felt
---
very
basic
for
its
class.
I
am
unsure
if
there
was
a
COVID
factor
involved
where
costs
were
being
kept
at
a
minimum.
Price
was
on
par
with
other
hotels
of
its
class.
The
hotel
was
near
restaurants
and
shopping,
including
a
Costco
(East
of
the
hotel)
with
a
gas
station.
Costco
gas
was
about
10
cents
cheaper
than
regular
gas
stations
in
Quebec
City.
It
was
also
easy
to
go
to
Old
Quebec
City,
15
min
drive.
