We stayed in the triple room for 2 nights on weekend. A summary of pros and cons for our stay — Pros: • Excellent location with numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance. • Convenient proximity to the train station and major sightseeing spots. • A fantastic dining experience at Chez Temporel next door, with a 10% discount for hotel guests. • Friendly and helpful reception staff. Cons: • The room itself is okay but lacks an extra chair and storage space. • Horrible sound insulation – noise from outside and neighboring rooms was very clear and disruptive, making it very hard to sleep, especially late at night. I wish they could post reminder to guests to keep noise levels down after 11pm or so. • Shared shower room was acceptable, but inadequate storage made it less convenient. • There was no elevator as the building was old, unsuitable for individuals who may struggle with climbing steep staircases while carrying large luggage. Overall, for future visits to Quebec City, I would rather pay a bit more for a quieter and more comfortable stay at somewhere else.

Staff are nice, and its a great location, rooms are basic but clean, value for money. Great place to stay and meet and talk to fellow travellers Just be aware it is a hostel style place with shared toilets and showers, which is the only reason I can't give 5 star. I would be happy to stay again

Considering I have been traveling around the world and staying in different hostels, I think this is a very nice hostel. Friendly staff and super great location! The bathroom is decent but sometimes the water wasn’t warm enough, it’s cold during the winter season... I stayed at a 4-people dorm and the room is a bit small but luckily I was mostly all by myself during the visit, although think it’d be too crowd and tight if 4 people staying in that tiny room... soundproofing wasn’t so great as I could hear people talking next door...

The hostel has a friendly atmosphere, there is a large backyard. The breakfast is rudimentary, but ok. The rooms are good, the facilities a little bit old but well maintained and clean. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and kept extending my nights twice :)

Note that they do not have air conditioning, which is very inconvenient if you are staying in one of the upper bunks on a summer night. I got no sleep because of this, even with the window open. The showers were also terrible, offering only hot water on a hot day. The 6-person dorms were also cramped, with nowhere to spread out any of my belongings. Overall not a very comfortable place, I would not recommend a stay here

The location really is the best thing about this place, no curfew, 24h parking next to the hostel (17$ for a full 24h) rooms are good, private locker for each beds. Breakfast included (cereals and toasts with cocoa/coffee) but again, the location is exceptional. You are directly in the old city, 10mins away from the military base and the plains. I would definitely recommend.

Pro: - very friendly staff - unbeatable location Con: - the vibes are just weird here - super anti social - no events - tiny rooms with rock hard beds - always a weird smell wafting through the place

The staff were very nice and the location is excellent, but facilities were lacking (no clothes washer/dryer, no AC in my dorm room so the window/fire escape had to be propped open, resulting in occasional noise from outside, unreliable wifi in my room). There was also confusion when two guests in my room were temporarily assigned to the same bed, so the organization system probably needs to be improved. Finally, it would have been nice to have some simple breakfast available in the kitchen like bread with butter and jam. Several of these issues are room-dependent, and with the hostel being actively renovated, I encourage anyone interested to ask the hostel directly since the issues will likely be resolved in the future or won't apply at all to other rooms (private rooms are available).

This hostel was a last minute catch while I was desperately looking for a good convenient place to stay. The price was fair enough with what it was offering. The location is the highlight, being in the heart of old Quebec. I loved to the architecture of the old buildings in the city, and this hustle made it come true. Beautiful retro wooden stairs, tiny wooden windows and a relaxing back yard. Maybe the only drawback was the noisy neighbors at nights, which was not a big deal for me. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Guests were damn friendly, and nice to talk to. If it wasn't a rush to get to Montreal for the next day, I would have stayed a couple of nights more. This is a place I recommend.

They let you make your own bed and the mattress are a little firm, but overall a 5 stars stay. Thanks to Frank for the tips on venues to attend.

Glad we found this newly reopened hostel. I think we were the firsts guests since they closed couple of years ago. This place was in mint condition. Trendy graffitis were a plus!

The hostel cancelled and told us too pay double the price if we wanted to have a bed. Horrible.

Excellent place to stay in the old Québec City. Beautiful job on the redecorating! Situated right in the middle of everything and at walking distance from all of the main touristic attractions of the city. Highly recommend.

I had booked one night ( August 26). Found out two days ago (August 23) that the board of directors had decided to closed permanently. My booking was cancelled.

This was the first hostel I had ever stayed in and I was pleasantly surprised. It was conveniently located near the train station plus everything we wanted to look at was walking distance from the hostel. The staff were friendly, kitchen was always stocked with food and everything was always clean. The only downside for me was that the beds were too short (I'm 6ft).

It really worth it. Very nice staff, good showers, good breakfast, quiet sleep. It's a very "cozy" hostel, not a party place. I felt comfortable there. I would just recommend to the staff to be more clear about the instructions of using the 1st and 2nd floor showers, as many guests that I have talkted to, they couldn't use these "button" showers. Anyway, I really recommend this place!

7.5/10 overall it's not bad, just a bit weird some things and although the rooms are fine, the building looks pretty old, it's over 40 years old and doesn't look like they spent any money renovating anything. The staff was fine some times and kinda weird at other times. Location is the best, that's why I chose this place, not sure if I'd return though. Noise anywhere in the floor and even downstairs can be easily heard in the rooms, also, I learned that bed linen can be uncomfortable and make it difficult to sleep. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience or bad, I'd definitely say it was positive, but I think I want to check other hostels first.

Very handy place if you don't mind sleeping in a dorm. Cheap, clean, offers breakfast in the morning.

The location is great and the people who help run it are very sweet. The breakfast they also supply there is also really nice and saves money on having to buy it yourself. However, it is definitely an older hostel and you can tell in the furniture and bathroom/bedroom set ups. Overall it's decent and fairly cheap but if you are looking for a nice hostel maybe look at the surrounding hostels.

I strongly advice spending an extra 20-30 dollars for a safe hostel / hotel rather than this hostel. I had booked 5 nights but was only able to withstand one and here is why. I booked a female dorm room and within the first couple of hours, a strange man walks into the room, sees me, and then walks out.(also there are no locks or any kind of security on any door except the front door, there are also no security cameras in any of the hall ways or kitchen ) The next morning I had $100 dollars stolen from me. When I told the staff (3 different people ) what had happened they did not seem to care and would not give me a refund for my night of terror in their hostel. Anyway, lesson learned, if somehow you do choose to stay here, please stay safe, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure to have valuables on you at all times! Good luck!

Paid $60 for a single room with a key and lock. Bed was alright, blanket was too thin and temperature was hard to control. Shower area was poorly designed with nowhere to leave clothes, key, and soap while showering and the shower itself had a timed push tap which was frustrating. Breakfast provided was bread and jam and some drinks. Met a lot of interesting people though, and the location was conveniently right in old Quebec.
