This was a lovely experience. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at! I stayed in the prestige room. All the furniture, the vibe, everything about this place was stunningly beautiful! I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars! I highly recommend!

Cozy room right in the heart of the city, but while many reviews below laud the "attentive staff," that was not the case for us. They offer breakfast vouchers for a restaurant down the street that requires you to book in advance online. Well, we arrived on a Friday and there were no reservations available for Saturday or Sunday. We sent multiple messages asking for guidance, and we never received an answer. A sign inside said someone is "on site" from 8am-9pm but we never saw one employee. So, be aware of a free breakfast you aren't going to get to use if you're staying on a weekend.

Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis in Quebec City is a good accommodation option. One of its notable aspects is its unique and distinctive furnishings, which give it a character of its own. The hotel's location is central, making it convenient for exploring the historic and charming areas of Quebec City. While the exterior and interior design are not your typical hotel aesthetics, some guests may find the distinctive decor appealing. The rooms, provide the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. They are clean and well-maintained. There was unfortunately no staff at the premises but the self check-in is a great option. The hotel's unique furnishings might not be to everyone's taste. In summary, Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis in Quebec City is an good choice for those who appreciate unique decor and a central location. While it may not offer the most modern accommodations, it does provide a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city's historic attractions.

What a fantastic 4-nights my wife and I spent in October at this elegant and cozy boutique hotel in the heart of the old city! Walking distance to everything, and surrounded by awesome restaurants. We stayed in the "The Exclusive Suite" and were treated like royalty. The entire staff was so helpful and pleasant!! Their restaurant and sightseeing recommendations were spot on! This was our first visit to Quebec City, and we can’t wait for an encore. When we do return, we will look again to the Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis. HUGE THUMBS UP, and 5-stars across the board.

An amazing hotel, right in the centre of the old city. A great combination of beautiful classical decor and modern technology makes this boutique Hotel a memorable experience. The staff were super friendly and professional, and they all spoke perfect English which was very helpful for us. We highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a great experience in the heart of wonderful Quebec.

I can only praise this hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and cozy. We were there to celebrate my spouse's birthday. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jade who was helping me to coordinate the selection of the room. She took the time to send pictures, reviewed the specs with me and provided options. She was patient, friendly, professional and quite frankly delightful. I have to admit this was an impressive experience and in terms of customer experience she has nailed it and so has the hotel and it's beautiful rooms and location. Merci Jade.

What a charming and romantic hotel! My wife selected it based on the reviews and they were spot on. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. It actually looks better in person than the pictures! Perfectly situated for exploring downtown. They have five parking places that can be reserved and can accommodate a minivan. While the hotel is “contactless”, don’t let that scare you. There are wonderful, bilingual, staff on site most of the day and always available via text. They are quick to make recommendations and help with reservations, recommendations or directions. A wonderful breakfast is included at La Buche just a few doors down the street. If you have mobility issues with stairs, this may not be your first choice as is there is no elevator. When We return to Quebec City, We will want to stay here again. Just a wonderful hotel, in a perfect location in a beautiful city!

We chose this hotel for our anniversary trip to Quebec City because the advertisement pictures showed a romantic, historic lodging in a location convenient to the Christmas markets and other famous sights in Old Quebec. It did NOT disappoint!! The picturesque reception room was beautifully decorated for Christmas, as was the outside of the building. Our room was lovely and contained every amenity imaginable. Stephanie, Coralie, and Moana were the perfect hostesses throughout our stay, providing advice on restaurants, activities, and answering all of our questions. This was particularly helpful since we do not speak French. Overall, it was the perfect place for our romantic anniversary celebration -- thank you!!

Really loved the charm of the building and excellent staff. I can see the staff care and try hard. We enjoyed our stay. Location is perfect, and onsite parking is very convenient. My only two suggestions for improvement: 1) the light fitting in the room hangs very low... i hit my head many times in 3 days (this would be an easy fix). 2) The pillows were very hard - i suggest the hotel needs to replace the pillows. Overall, I would not hesitate to return. Old Quebec City is a stunning place to visit!

Very clean room with comfortable bed, easy check-in (entering using given prior arrival codes), and access to all necessary amenities. Lack of free parking and no breakfast on the spot were a little uncomfortable for us, but the vouchers provided for the restaurant close by made a good start of a day. Decent place to stay short-term

Great place, love the charm, would go back. Mattresses could use a refresher... Parking options are limited and that's fine, but directions to find them are lacking

Great location just within the walled part of Quebec City. Minimal desk staff. Very nice rooms. Terrific breakfast relationship with nearby restaurant.

The hotel was beautiful and clean . Could not ask for a better location central to everything you need. We were able to rent a parking spot in back which made it so convenient. Have nothing negative to say, we were able to communicate with staff about anything we needed or questions. Loved the breakfast at La Buche that was complimentary with direct booking . Would come here again when visiting Loved it!

A very cool and cozy spot perfect for a night or two. The room was beautiful, it's in a great location, and the staff were very communicative over message. I booked directly through their website and there were options to add extras (at the time there was valentine's day special) and a breakfast voucher for a neat restaurant next door was included.

This is 5* plus. Beautiful historic building. Entering the room is like stepping back in time 200 years, but has all the amenities you will need including a kettle. The TV is hidden in a large Victorian wardrobe. There is a fridge available on one of the landings. The stairs up to the room are steep and winding. No lifts so people would struggle with a large suitcase. We prepared an overnight bag rather than carrying our suitcases, would highly recommend doing this. The hotel is in a superb location . There is no staff on site but they are easy to communicate with and instantly responsive. Such a lovely experience staying here and perfectly placed for exploring beautiful old Quebec.

Once you walked into the hotel, the lobby is stunning. Each room has its own theme and my room is beautiful with old European style decor. Staffs are very responsive and very prompt to respond any of your questions. The location is super convenient in old Quebec. Thank you for your host!

I stayed here for a long weekend this past week and can’t thank the staff enough for a wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean and quaint and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Everything was comfortable and perfect! The hotel is located in an easy to navigate area in old Quebec City which made it simple and pleasurable to walk the short distance (in some cases just next door or across the street) to the many great restaurants and shops in the area. Thank you so much for the hospitality! We will definitely be returning in the future.

Very cute design, lovely Victorian furnishing. Seamless check in and checkout process, making it all a very private affair. The location was great, a 2-minute walk to Chateau le Frontenac. Lots of good restaurants nearby, too (Bello, an italian restaurant next door was AMAZING). They had complimentary Nespresso pods, which was a great way to start our mornings. No complimentary bottled water though, but there was a nearby store where we bought a large gallon. Oh, and the rooms are not sound proof and you can hear loud activities in other rooms! Do what you will with that information!

The location is perfect. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You can’t beat the connection to La Buche for breakfast…one of the best parts of the trip. The access via the keypad to the front door and your room is so convenient. The rooms are quaint and comfortable. We loved people watching from the big windows in Room 21. A suggestion would be that if you want to reserve parking behind the hotel, do it early as the spots fill up and they can’t accommodate everyone. No worries though..they suggested a great place just down the street that was close and easy. Such a benefit to book directly with them! The breakfast vouchers can’t be beat! We will stay here again!

Our room, #5, was gorgeous. Large 4 poster bed with a large living room with a small eating area, fireplace(not usable) and a large bathroom. Everyone quickly answered all our questions and responded to all requests. The breakfast which was included if you book through them, was very large enough for a lumberjack( per our waitress) and delicious. We would highly recommend staying there and will stay there if we return. David and Elaine

What a nice stay! Friendly and accommodating staff, and the check-in check-out process was very easy. Excellent location in old Quebec city, and it's on one of the major streets, but it's not noisy at night. Good restaurants nearby, and walking to and from places is very convenient. The rooms are clean and well kept, with a lot of cute ornate details. It's a very romantic hotel. Just be ready to climb stairs as this hotel has 4 floors, but no elevators. Fantastic experience, and I would stay here again.

We loved our stay. The room was cozy and comfortable and the staff was great. Keep in mind that Old Quebec has lots of stairs. The hotel is no different. 4 floors and no elevator. Staff is willing to help bring luggage up and down from your room if you’d like help. We rented our parking spot from the hotel which made everything easy. We only used our car once because everything is within walking distance.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay here. We got the Prestige room and it was really fancy. It is quite an old building so the floor does creek a little bit, which gives it that antiquey feel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our Nespresso didn't work on the first day and they were able to fix it right away. We were also given parking (we paid) behind the building. To note: the parking behind the building was kind of small, but overall very convenient to have since there's hardly free parking in Quebec. This was definitely a romantic stay and there were mostly couples. If you want to spoil your other half on a romantic stay, this is the place for you!

My wife and I really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the very charming Hotel Le Clos Saint- Louis. The staff were excellent, always available to offer any assistance when required. Our room located on the 3rd. floor was beautifully appointed. The location of the hotel is ideal, very close to fantastic restaurants and shopping. On our next visit to Quebec City we will certainly stay at Le Clos Saint-Louis.

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis! The hotel is in a perfect location and there is parking available onsite. We recommend reserving a parking spot behind the hotel in advance instead of having to find parking in a public garage. The woman working the reception desk, Jade, was extremely helpful. If we needed anything, she was just a text away! The rooms are beautiful, clean, and unique. We enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and hearing the Quebec City nightlife. The hotel was recommended to us by a family member and we will be sure to recommend the hotel to others. Thank you!

Excellent location and beautiful rooms for adults. A treat as we rarely traveled without children and this hotel was perfect. We also looked forward to daily breakfast at La Buche - a great restaurant a short distance away with big windows along Rue Saint-Louis perfect for people watching while enjoying a nice breeze. The small table set up for dinner for two in the hotel room was perfect for a night of takeout dinner, when the weather wasn't great for venturing outdoors. It was a great choice.

We had the anniversary/honeymoon package. The room (s) were very comfortable. There was an iced bottle of bubbles waiting for us. We had breakfast and dinner meal (first night) included - both restaurants were superb. The location in the historic area was as good as it gets. Staff was helpful and eager to please. The one short coming was our AC unit went out the first night. They quickly brought fans but July nights, even in Quebec, are very warm. We survived the night and the system was repaired the next day. When/if we return we will likely stay there again as the location is ideal.

Our stay was amazing and like our previous visit at the hotel a couple of years ago, everything was amazing. The rooms were spotless and the location of the hotel is very convenient. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. For the breakfast at Le Bistro, it was delicious ! Thank you for everything.

The hotel was wonderful. Coralee and Sabastien were very welcoming, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The location within Old Quebec City was great. Pubs & Restaurants everywhere. So much culture to soak in. We walked everywhere. A wonderful little getaway!

Beautiful hotel, exactly as pictured if not better. Yes the stairs are steep but they are beautiful and it feels like you are staying in someone's lovely home. It is only down the street from the Fairmont and it in a great location close to everything. Highly recommend the restaurant La Buche right down the street. Thank you for the lovely stay. We loved it.

The room was absolutely stunning. Felt like I was in a romantic movie ! The bath was a jacuzzi tub. Amazing room overrall !

  • 4/5 Wendy L. 2 years ago on Google
The check in process was easy, the staff was friendly and the room was beautiful. The jetted tub didn’t work though. There was a leak in our bathroom fan so they had to put a cloth filled bucket in. They offered us two free breakfasts at a nearby restaurant for the inconvenience. We didn’t even notice the drip or the bucket. Our only suggestions are: Have a mini fridge in the room. With the ice machine in the basement, no elevator and being on the fourth floor, it was a bit inconvenient. The bed was small and dipped in the middle. Time for new mattress? We had no idea how to change the temperature. At one point we would have liked to turn the ac down. Perhaps alert your guests that all restaurants close at 9pm and they must make reservations in advance for food anywhere within the walls. The line ups for walk-in are very long and frustrating. Also some restaurants may request a deposit for a reservation. I would still definitely recommend this hotel. It was truly a great place.
