PLEASE
READ
BEFORE
BOOKING.
THESE
ARE
THE
THINGS
I
WISH
I
KNEW
AHEAD
OF
TIME
AND
HAD
PLANNED
FOR.
1)The
hotel
itself
is
in
a
perfect
location
in
Old
Quebec.
Easy
central
access
to
everything
you
could
want
to
see
and
do
2)
The
rooms
themselves
were
old
but
clean,
and
had
a
quaint
vibe.
3)
Staff
was
very
nice
and
helpful.
4)
Beds
and
Pillows
were
wonderfully
comfortable.
5)
There
is
a
small
but
nice
sitting
room
on
the
first
floor.
Now
the
things
a
potential
customer
should
know.
1)
There
is
no
check
in
desk
or
reception
in
this
hotel.
It
is
two
doors
down
in
The
Champlain
.You
will
have
to
exit
your
own
hotel
and
walk
down
the
street
every
time
you
need
something.
2)
The
rooms
have
no
coffee
makers,
no
water,
and
no
cups
to
get
water.
You
will
need
to
bring
water
with
you.
Also
the
website
and
the
front
desk
(next
door)
will
tell
you
the
tiny
snack
room
on
the
first
floor
of
this
hotel
has
coffee
and
vending
machines
where
you
can
purchase
coffee
and
water.
However
both
the
coffee
machine
and
beverage
machines
were
out
of
order
during
our
entire
stay.
The
lobby
of
the
Champlain
has
free
coffee
for
its
guests,
so
we
were
able
to
get
coffee
there
(for
$1
per
cup.)
3)
Towels
were
very
shabby.
One
of
ours
was
shredded
on
the
ends
and
had
stains.
Carpets
throughout
the
hotel
are
also
very
stained
and
worn.
4)
THIS
HOTEL
IS
NOT
A
GOOD
FIT
IF
YOU
HAVE
ANY
HEALTH
OR
MOBILITY
ISSUES.
We
walked
up
two
flights
of
very
steep,
narrow,
and
winding
stairs.
We
also
carried
our
own
luggage.
There
is
no
elevator.
5)
There
is
no
Garden
in
the
back
of
this
hotel.
The
website
picture
must
be
quite
old.
The
yard
in
the
back
is
overgrown
with
weeds.
The
tables
are
just
thrown
out
there
(one
was
even
tipped
over.)
Does
not
appear
to
have
been
used
in
a
long
time.
There
were
boards
and
old
lumber
lying
in
the
middle
of
it.
6)For
those
who
may
not
be
familiar
with
Canadian
taxes
:
there
are
three
taxes
added
to
the
bill.
A
lodging
tax,
GST
(federal),
PST
(Province).
Our
taxes
added
$90
to
our
bill.
Parking
was
another
$50.
These
are
unavoidable
at
any
hotel
but
you
should
know
the
cost
that
will
be
added
to
your
bill.
Depending
on
what
you
want
and
need
in
a
hotel
this
may
work
fine
for
you.
We
only
went
back
to
our
hotel
to
sleep
and
shower
so
we
made
do
with
it.
But
My
next
trip
I
am
likely
to
try
another
hotel.
There
are
many
to
choose
from
in
Old
Quebec
that
hopefully
will
offer
a
little
more
for
$560
(total)
for
two
nights.
