Had some ramen craving during a little weekend trip in Quebec City. There was a line up in front of this small ramen joint and we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised by this gem and we slurped our bowls of ramen within 10 minutes. Portions were a bit small to my liking otherwise everything was yummy!

Perfect ramen. The gyoza was so flavorful. And the mochi were all delicious too! My belly is full and happy. I really appreciate that the pork is locally sourced and conscious of animal welfare. Great service. It's a small place so it's a good idea to go early.

Noodles had a great texture and the miso broth was amazing. they have a cozy and welcoming environment and the staff reflected that as well. They had a waitress that spoke English which I appreciated very much.

We stumbled upon this little place on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait too long for a seat. The service was excellent for such a busy place. Although it was packed, we found the atmosphere to be nice and cozy. I ordered the miso ramen with veggies & my friend ordered the vegetarian ramen. Both were very tasty. I've had ramen in Japan and found the ramen here to be very authentic in flavour. If you're in the area, I highly recommend Tora-Ya Ramen!

If you are near downtown and you and your family are looking for some place cozy where the food will hug you, just come and see. They have super delicious food and a really good service! Everything was fresh and the gentleman who served us was super kind and attentive to everyone and all details. There is usually a waiting list and we had to wait around 20 to 30 min to be seated. But in cold days you could stay inside. At least four people could be there waiting. It did not take too long to have the food on the table though. There are different types of Ramen for everyone's taste and I would suggest saving some space for dessert. The place is quite small and very comfortable. After having dinner there for at least an hour you can leave the place without being too much concerned about any smell in your clothes. Even though the kitchen is really close, the air ventilation system is definitely really good and you don't get smelly. Well done! But keep in mind that parking in that area is not an easy job. I just had lucky and found a place nearby. But it could be a problem though. I would recommend this place and for sure I'll be back there any time soon.

I have been here twice now. The ramens are tasty. They only offer two kinds of soup (Soya sauce and Miso based). It usually busy for dinner time. So, you may experience some lime-up to get in. The parkings are available on the side of the road. You may have to park a bit further from the restaurant and walk over. They also have take-out and delivery now.

A great place for a ramen! Place is tight, table spacing is within an arm’s reach. Parking is by the road or any near garage. Food is great! Quantity and quality is superb. Service is wonderful, i guess our waiter was rafael if im not mistaken. Truly an asset. They accept credit/debit card. Bathroom is a bit unpleasing but would do. If you want a deep talk then probably this is not the place since it gets loud specially when packed. They do have a high chair

We had a tough time finding a place that was open for a late lunch. Most places close at 2pm to open again in the early evening. This was one of the few that stayed open all afternoon (and was walking distance from our hotel). This is a decent ramen place. We ordered shoyu ramen, miso ramen, tako-yaki, and gyoza. We were a little disappointed with the ramen, as they didn't have much flavour. The chasyu was too thick, a little tough/dry and bland. The gyoza and tako-yaki were good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I want to give 3.5 stars but Google only allows whole stars.

We went here during lunch and there were already quite a lot of people. Despite this, we were seated fairly quick and got our food at a reasonable amount of time. The place was a bit cramp and not much space between tables and people. The stools by the counter was a little too uncomfortable to my liking. It was a bit hard and too small to sit comfortably on. Food itself was fine. The broth was nice and flavorful, though a bit too salty for my liking , and I found the chasu to be on the dry side. The takoyakis, on the other hand, were amazing!!

Came here on a rainy day, the restaurant is so cozy and welcoming. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was very friendly and spoke English, French and Japanese! Very accommodating. The KimChi here to my understanding is vegan and it was so crunchy and delicious. The ramen was also amazing! I recommend this restaurant!

The place is small so it gets packed quite easily, so i recommend coming as they open or early before dinner time because there will be a line of people waiting outside the restaurant. The ramen was okay, nothing special and we had the seared tuna and bbq pork side dishes and those were good. It has a nice traditional izakaya atmosphere and the servers greet and speak a little Japanese which i find quite nice.

Unfortunately I found my meal to be quite disappointing... The ramen was just average at best. The food temperature wasn't as hot as it should be and the most disappointing part was the stinginess of the amount of ingredients in the ramen. Two little slices of pork and half an egg. Should be much more than that. Overall, inbound my meal very underwhelming and overpriced fornwhat you get. On a positive note, the service was friendly which was nice.

Very good ramen bowl. Especially on a cold winter day! Had the kimchi ramen. It was just enough spicy and had a lot of flavor. Friendly staff that greet you when you come in. I suggest to arrive early because they don't take reservations and it's a first come first seated. Even if you had to wait to get seated, it's worth it!

delicious ramen-ordered shoyu and miso- and karaages were tender and complimented nicely with mayo sauce. super delicious! requested for less sodium on the ramen and the flavour was perfect for our liking. would highly recommend this specific location to anyone who loves ramen as the owners and chefs are japanese. wait was a while but totally worth it.

There was a short queue when we went on a Saturday night but it moved really fast. We ordered the shoyu ramen, which was alright - the soup was nice but the chashu was a little hard and the egg was slightly overcooked. The gyoza was quite good. Worth a try.

First time trying ramen! It was delicious, but a little too fishy for my own personal taste. Service was great, and the vibes are relaxed. Great spot for a date night.

Not the best rammen I was tasting. It's not salty and not spicy at all. But there is a pepper on the table and you can ask about spicy sauce. Be prepare to wait in the long queue for ≈30 minutes, especially in the evening, but the waiters are really nice, especially one boy. I would give him all of the tips in the world. You have also unlimited water option

Had lunch with my wife at Tora-Ya Ramen. It did not disappoint. You go from the streets of French speaking Quebec City through the doors to an authentic slice of Japan. The first thing you notice is the friendliness of the staff. They obviously love their restaurant and take pride in their work. It starts with the owner, Miyano, who is so nice and welcoming. She had a very pleasant conversation with my wife, who is also Japanese. The hostess was polite, friendly, and seated us right away. The waiter, I did not catch his name, was top notch. He was very attentive and knowledgeable. Now to the food. I've spent a lot of time in Japan. This is without question the closest to a Japanese ramen shop I've seen in the USA or Canada. I got the Shoyu ramen. Very flavorful. The egg, noodles, and chashu were cooked perfectly. My wife had the Miso ramen, also delicous. The edamame was a generous portion. We got Karaage, takoyaki, and moochi to go for our boys at home. They loved it and want to go back tomorrow. All in all it was such a great experience. Love from New Hampshire. It will be a must visit on future trips to Quebec City. Thank you Miyano and staff.

we went there because of the good reviews and was a little disappointed. the noodles were a good texture but the ramen broth was a bit too salty for our taste and most of our party didn't finish their meals. good place to eat if you are super hungry and other places are closed. overall wouldn't recommend, staff were really accommodating and nice though!

Service was quick. The ramen was good even though I'm not exactly a ramen person. What sold me was the yaki soba - great noodle dish packed with flavor. This is a smaller place, and they don't take reservations, so be aware if you want to go during busier times.

Coming from out of town, as a self-acclaimed ramen connoisseur, this place was definitely on my to-go list. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The egg yolks were obviously overcooked. The broth seemed diluted, lacking in flavour. On the up side, service was exceptionally friendly. Overall, this is an introduction to ramen, but not representative of the richness characteristic of this dish.

Service is a well oiled machine. No reservations but the line moves quickly especially if you're a small group. Vegetarian option is available. The food is definitely worth the wait. As you'd expect the place is packed and very lively. Street parking only.

Excellent ramen place. Kimchi ramen was delicious. The miso ramen was good but a little sour which I was not expecting and wasn't the biggest fan of. But the broth was still good. The noodles are perfect in my opinion; they're made exactly the way I prefer. The egg in the ramen was cooked great and was very tasty. Service is good. Definitely recommend this place for ramen!

Came to visit Quebec for a few days and was looking for a good spot to eat and found this gem. Amazing service and food! If there’s a line outside to go in, it’s worth the wait. One of the best ramens I’ve had.

I ate my first yoki soba there and I'm pretty sure I will have dreams about it.

  • 3/5 Daniel 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic service! The staff was very friendly and accommodating for English speakers. The ramen was not exactly what I was expecting from my experiences from other ramen restaurants. The broth did not have the traditional richness of a ramen broth, the eggs were overdone, and the pork slices were thin and underwhelming. Noodle portion size was great. This is a good introduction to ramen and provides an option to those in Quebec City. I encourage locals to also experiment with other ramen places when traveling outside Quebec City.
