Absolutely a must in Quebec City. They served some of the most delicious food I've ever had. Most everything was just perfect. The bread was pretty good, and included some bannock (which was very different than the bannock we get on the west coast.) We opted for the menu prix fixe, and the turkey roll starter was amazing, the salad was delightful, and my main course of deer and elk medallions was spectacular. Everything was really sublime. The tartare, soup, and bison that I tried from my partner's dishes were also fantastic. I went wrong in choosing the sugar pie over the sorbet for dessert (I don't like very sweet things), which my partner was grateful for since he ate my portion as well. We never got offered the tea/coffee with dessert, but it honestly wasn't necessary for us as we were both bursting by the time we finished.

Wild game meats but I believe they were farm raised so not as gamey as expected. The bison "spare ribs" were fantastic. Pictures are of the totem poles at the front of the restaurant. The maple pie desert is amazing (but super super sweet).

Sagamite is not a restaurant. It’s an experience very much enjoyed! The service, decor and ambiance were great. Tried their 3-meat menu (including the sides, appi and dessert) and I’d say the puff pastry was the star of the show. It was delicious and beautifully paired with a sweet/sour berry sauce (tastes closely to sour cherry sauce). The soup was also very good. The main 3-meat dish (the one on fire in the photos) was a show stopper and really good.

Worst experience in Quebec City! Bad customer service, not recommended. Waiting period was almost 20 mins to be able to sit; another 10 mins to get the menu; another 15 mins to get your order; and another 15 mins to get your food. No one was trying to accommodate nor talk to us for 20 mins while we were at the door. There were lots of available tables inside since it was just 8:30am .They were avoided eye contacts. Supposed to be my breakfast was free since it was included on the hotel but i ended up paying extra (like a full meal). No one explained to me which ones were only covered since no one tried to talk to me.

What a special place this is. Food is simply outstanding and the staff are really friendly and helpful in navigating the menu. I really hadn’t tried all the types of meat before but the venison, buffalo, and deer combo was stunning and prepared beautifully. I appreciated the decor and location of the restaurant along with supporting its Indigenous roots as well.

A really unique dining experience. The house elk soup is delicious. The fish with cranberry chutney is an interesting mix of savoury and sweet. I was so impressed with how well it was cooked: melt in your mouth smooth with barely any bones in it. The restaurant has some cool pieces of Indigenous art as well. The only critiques was that the T-bone was a little tough but it came with an amazing sauce to balance this. Thank you for a great experience!

Amazing food. Nice to have something I can't get at home. Potatoes are regularily not something that I talk about but the best Potatoes I have ever had. Veggies we're perfect. Favorite wait staff of the whole trip. Thanks for a great evening!

Really delicious and satisfying meal! I had the scallops (with boar bacon and strawberries) and the spaghetti with various meats (gratiné). That was PLENTY of food for me, no room for dessert, alas. Great service and ambiance.

My wife and I are visiting Vieux-Québec for the first time and wanted to experience the terroir with a truly local Québécois meal. I could not imagine a better way to do that than to enjoy a meal at Restaurant Sagamité. The restaurant was created by members of the Huron-Wendat Nation and provides a taste of indigenous Canadian (First Nations) culture. The restaurant space and decor, the front of house service, and the food and drinks are all impeccable. Our meal was hosted by a very knowledgeable local Québécois who provided interesting information about the restaurant, the food, the wines and Québec itself. As tourists, we enjoy nothing more than experiencing the terroir of the places we visit. He really made that happen. Merci, Monsieur! We enjoyed the full Yatista meal, which included venison puff pastry, the eponymous Sagamité soup, the potence of three antlers (deer, elk and bison flambé) and maple pie. I’ll post photos of our meal, which was educational, delicious and fun.

Do not sleep on the chance to visit this restaurant! My husband and I went for dinner on our honeymoon. We had the smoked bison, cheese appetizer, cheddar broccoli soup, bison tenderloin, walleye, and the maple pie for dessert. This was the best meal we’ve had in Quebec- Including some much more expensive ones in Montreal! The sauces and attention to detail are amazing. Everything had multiple subtle flavors and was cooked perfectly. My husband loved all the beers on offer and I had some great wine.

This was an unexpected treasure. We would not have sought out a “game” restaurant but it turned out great. The price fixe menu had many options- seared scallops, smoked calumet, delicious salad, then a delicious main course of duck with tasty perfectly cooked veggies and wild rice/lentil salad. My husband had elk and venison medallions - he did not love them but the sides with it were delicious. We were too full to eat dessert so they packed it up. Service was friendly and competent even though the place was bustling.

We recently dined at the Sagamite restaurant that left a lasting impression with its exceptional variety of meats. From succulent bison to tender deer, the diverse selection was a carnivore's delight. The chef's artful presentation elevated the experience, making each dish not only a treat for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes. The melding of unique flavors and impeccable service made it a memorable culinary adventure. Definitely must try!

A wonderful Indigenous owned restaurant in Quebec City! I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a lovely experience. The atmosphere was great and serving staff were phenomenal. We shared the Sacrifices Yatista, which came with a game puff pastry, soup or salad, the meat, maple pie and coffee and tea. Everything was absolutely delicious but the soup was a personal favourite. The meat was served on a flaming skewer and allowed you to decide how you wanted the meat cooked. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back! They also have a second location on the Wendake lands as well!

You can try Canadian traditional foods that are steak of the deer, elk and bison. These are not bad, but it might devide opinion.

Incredible. The whole dining experience was just amazing. The menu includes a unique variety of specialty dishes, and you are not short for choice (unless you do not eat meat). The starter was possibly the best food I’ve tasted and portion size was perfect. For the main, I had the ravioli and it was exquisite. The portion was pretty big but I was determined to finish it as it was so delicious. Although I was too full for dessert, it looked too good not to try, so I got the maple pie anyway and I’m so glad I did because it was incredible. I tried a Canadian wine which was also lovely. The staff were so friendly, informative and helpful, always with a smile on their face. The restaurant itself contains really lovely representations of indigenous culture along the walls. This restaurant is a must visit.

Went here for breakfast. Ordered a signature plate with smoked bison. Was delicious. I’d like to go back and enjoy the dinner menu.

I recently dined at a restaurant, and while the food didn't blow my mind, there were a few standout dishes worth mentioning. The scallops appetizer was particularly tasty, and I would definitely recommend trying it. The foie gras was good, although there were several components on the plate that somewhat overshadowed the foie gras itself. Despite this, the dish was still enjoyable. Moving on to the tar tars, the salmon tar tar had a bit of a spicy kick to it, which might not be to everyone's liking. On the other hand, the beef tar tar was good and satisfying. Both tar tars were accompanied by french fries, but personally, I felt that croutons would have sufficed instead. Furthermore, the beef dish I had contained non-chewing veins, which was disappointing. Additionally, the french fries were overcooked and lacked sufficient salt. While the food had its ups and downs, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the service was excellent. However, one letdown was the absence of non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. It would have been nice to have more options in that regard. I recommend this restaurant for dinner, primarily because their menu offers a wide variety of certain dishes that are worth trying. They also boast a good selection of wild meat. Nevertheless, while the dining experience was enjoyable, I must admit that I was not particularly impressed.

My granddaughter had the filet mignon, it was cooked to perfection, and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. I had the seafood plate, and it was amazing. Then we had dessert. Stunningly mouth watering. We have never had better food. Highly recommend.

The staffs are friendly. We had the "Potence" with 2 kinds of meat, our waitress allowed us to customize it a bit. The food was good as well as the service.

It was a great breakfast experience in this restaurant! The food was tasty and the staff really helpful. The waiter speaks english, french and spanish. We really appreciated because my friend didn't speak french. Also, the decoration is really nice, base of the first nations artefacts (cf pictures). They also respect some rituals. We attend a birthday of a client in the restaurant and they sang a song in their language. It was great :)

We had a lovely evening dining at Sagamite. The service was great and the food delicious. It was such a treat to be able to dine here! My partner got the Turkey dish and he loved it! I tried the smoked fish pizza which was quite a unique flavour profile.

The food was really delicious. As a vegetarian, I also came to the course. Even if the really exceptional dishes are with meat. The prices were fair and the staff super nice. I can only recommend a visit.

Excellent food and service. Our waiter Daniel was very attentive, friendly, spoke english and would explain us a bit of every dish. We ordered the Yatista meal, inspired by the first people dishes. Absolutely no regrets! Every single dish we got served was delicious! From the entrees with bread to the maple pie dessert. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone!

This was the best meal we had in Quebec City!!! They fit us in, as we didn't have reservations, but had an amazing meal. The staff is excellent and the people in the kitchen know what they are doing. Everything was nicely seasoned, cooked to perfection, and delicious. You can feel the joy this place brings as table around us were having a great experience as well. Highly recommend the elk and the walleye!

Excellent food and a wide variety of options. We went here on the first day of our holiday and ended up going everyday. Although it was a bit of walking from our hotel, the food attracted us back each time. The ambience is very inviting too

What an excellent find. We stopped by hungry for a late lunch and had a full 5 course dinner meal. From the starters through to dessert the food was well cooked, beautifully framed, and tasted amazing. We also had fantastic service with friendly conversation and genuine warmth. We will absolutely go again when we are next in the area.

Enjoyed my salad, even though it did not have duck confit, which I’d meant to get. I liked the dressing in my salad better than my dining companion’s salad. I also really liked the venison rillette! It was delicious.
