We experienced a most abhorrent treatment from hotel staff on our stay from August 28 - Sept 3. We stayed at this property as a couple and were working from Quebec during our stay. Upon checkout on the morning of 9/3 the female manager at the desk told us she was charging us $100 for partying and broken items in our room. Since we had no idea what she is talking about she told us that another guest told the hotel that on our first night in our room we threw a party and created loud noises. Even though she said something was "broken", she could not provide any details of this claim. At no point during our stay did we have a party, have any guests to our room, or create any excessive noise. We are actually both sober for many years so we do not even drink. We were both working and not in town for pleasure at all. NO ONE from the hotel ever contacted us during our 6 days there to notify us there was any kind of claim against us. I asked her to produce details including what was "broken" in our room. Of course I knew we broke nothing during our stay. She could not provide any detail or proof of anything broken. In addition to this, we are an older couple who live quietly and keep a clean room. We only had housekeeping make up our room twice in 6 days. I specifically asked for the manager's name who was trying to charge us this random $100, and like a petulant child she replied "I don't have to give you my name!". This is supposed to be a highly rated hotel that takes care of guests and charges high rates for rooms. The manager at the desk began yelling at me saying "I am a human and just work here. I don't have to give you details of the reason for the charge except that another guest claimed it!". This unbelievable experience was apparently the result of some guest claiming they heard a party from our room, which was completely false. The hotel took no action on this complaint including asking us about the complaint or verifying it in any way. They used this as an opportunity to fraudulently try to charge us an extra $100, even though we just paid them $3000 for our stay for the week. We travel over 150 days each year for business and have never had a hotel staff treat us so disrespectfully. Their claim was 100% false, and their behavior toward us was absolutely inexcusable.

Beautiful hotel in the center of town, conveniently located, walking distance to everything. Very clean accommodations, elegantly designed hotel, beautiful bar/lounge. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.....and the hotel is dog friendly. What more could you ask for. It was our first time visiting Quebec City and Monsieur Jean Hotel.

I didn’t actually stay at the Hotel, but my friend and I just walked in and asked if we could possibly just look at the lobby. We were offered a look at the rooms. A classic and a suite. We jumped at the opportunity of course. Both of the rooms were absolutely unique and beautiful. My point of leaving this review is to mainly thank the gentleman that showed us the rooms and who gave us the informative tour. William, thank you so much for your professionalism , your customer service, your time , but most of all your truly wonderful personality and absolute love of your job. This was a great surprise at the end of a wonderful stay in Quebec. Fond regards Carole and Carol. Xxx

We had an amazing stay at Monsieur Jean! The hotel was beautiful and quiet. We paid a bit extra to stay on the top floor and had a great view of the city. The kitchenette was perfect, and we enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the room in the morning before heading out for the day. The location cannot be best, very close to everything in the Old City, which allowed us to wander all around. William in particular was so helpful! Will definitely be back. Many thanks for the wonderful stay!

Summary: Great location, aesthetic design and EXCEPTIONAL staffs. We stayed for 2 days during the memorial day long weekend. Not only that we like the aesthetic design of this hotel and the great location, but also we were *VERY* impressed by the staff. All staffs were helpful and kind and, especially, this one staff who worked at night shift (May 29-30) was exceptional. We had to check out at 4 am because of our flight schedule and our taxi (that we made a reservation the night before) wasn't there. He tried his best to get us a taxi (checking with the taxi company several times and making many calls). We really appreciated it. + thank you for the pin that you found for us :). we love it!

Gorgeous, stylish hotel. Excellent service. While the room is not very big, it is super comfortable and has everything you need! Including a hidden kitchenette! Location is amazing. So easy to get everywhere. Super near to the German Christmas Market. And surrounded by so many great restaurants. We are utterly charmed. Will return if we ever come back to Québec City!

The room is nice but the check-in experience is horrible. The entrance was a bit difficult to find (when I was on the car) and I parked beside and inquired the staff about parking. They simply asked me to go to public parking without offering me the valet parking. The public parking isn’t far but need to climb stairs (no elevator), and it was quite a rough road given we have 2 luggages. Later on when I was at the reception, they gave me a lot of excuses without a proper apology, things like “maybe he was helping someone else”, “maybe the valet parking is full”… I suggest the future customers should check if there’s valet parking available, if not at least offload your luggage first. (I didn’t know the parking he pointed to is public parking and doesn’t connect to the hotel.)

My boyfriend and I stayed here over winter break. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and stunning. The location was perfect. Everywhere we wanted to go was in walking distance. There was a parking garage right next-door to the hotel. I do not think this parking garage was necessarily connected to the hotel, but it was pretty cheap and easy to park in. The service was amazing, very nice front desk staff. My boyfriend and I had to check in late at around 1 AM and we did so without a problem, there was a free continental breakfast with our stay that was very delicious. The lounge too is very beautiful. The rooms were luxurious, my boyfriend and I got one of the basic rooms and it was still very very nice. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Quebec City!

I loved this hotel. The location was great, I walked everywhere. It's a very modern hotel. My room was a lot bigger than I expected. I really enjoyed having the kitchenette area. The bathroom floor was heated. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bar/restaurant was a really nice atmosphere, I enjoyed the decor. The roasted cauliflower and hummus was delicious. All the staff throughout the hotel was friendly. I would stay here again.

I didn't realize how beautiful Quebec City was until this visit. We stayed in the Old Quebec area at the Monsieur Jean hôtel on a friends recommendation and it didn't disappoint. It's a really trendy and cool boutique hotel in the middle of Old Quebec that is footsteps away from all the action. The rooms were very spacious and were ultra modern especially the washrooms. The rooms were very clean which is important to me. The parking for my car was great as it was right inside the hotel so I can take out the car anytime I want. It was the cleanest indoor parking lot I have seen. They have a really cute open window coffee shop that overlooks a very nice historic intersection that I used for coffee every morning. The only reason why I would not give it 5 stars is that my view from the hotel room was over looking the back part and there was a lot of graffiti. But overall I would definitely recommend this hotel :)

This was genuinely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms were very clean, spacious, had a kitchenette hidden away, heated flooring in the bathroom. Large shower with a lovely shower head. Slippers and robes are provided in the room and an umbrella in the closet which is a little thing but very thoughtful. I also appreciated that the rooms have hardwood floors vs a lot of other hotels having carpet. Every staff member I interacted with was very helpful and kind. Loved the bar as well, such a beautiful space. Loved all the decor, especially the dark hallways made me feel like I was in a movie set. The fire out front was also very much appreciated. To sit there and enjoy after a day of exploring. I really can’t say enough good things about this hotel experience. I really appreciated that to use the elevator, you had to tap your card before it would work. Good safety feature. This will be my #1 choice when visiting Quebec City again. Location, room, service, all 10/10.

My wife and I stayed there last week for a week. This was our first trip to Quebec City and we loved it! The staff at Monsieur Jean are excellent! The decor is eclectic and unique. The location was great. 10 minute walk to pretty well all the main sites in Old Quebec City. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and the view was great. The gym is good but would be nice to have a bit more equipment, maybe a few more weights and a bench. A fan would be nice too. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here in October. It was not just a hotel stay - it was an experience! First, I must highlight the staff. Every employee was helpful and gracious. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and advised. Benoit Trudel, who greeted us at the front desk, was so helpful and such a gentleman. His wonderful smile and gracious ways made our stay even more spectacular! He went above and beyond for us, and we appreciated it immensely! The architect and designers deserve accolades! Our suite was so clean, so comfortable, and so perfectly designed! The bed and bedding were so comfortable. We have never had such an impeccable and cozy bed! The linens were fresh, clean and soft! The pillows were superior! The bathroom was perfect! The shower and bathtub were so inviting! The soaps, bath salts, and towels were excellent! Our views from our corner suite were amazing! The location of the hotel is perfect! It is the middle of Quebec City. We were able to walk mostly everywhere! There are amazing restaurants in the area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We highly recommend reserving a suite at Monsieur Jean for your next visit to Quebec City! We will definitely be returning soon! It felt like a home away from home! We have never had that feeling when we have been away! Thank you!

Wonderful experience at Monsieur Jean! Would highly recommend! We stayed 1 night prior to going on a cruise because of the proximity to the pier and I'm so glad we picked this hotel. The room was clean and the bed felt wonderful! Very fluffy towels, and a great walk in shower! The staff was so nice and helpful. Our room had a continental breakfast included which was delivered to our room in the morning. The bar at night was open to the outside so you could sit with your drink and enjoy watching the people and the beautiful French styled store fronts! An overall wonderful experience!

We stayed for five nights last week and I have to say this was a spectacular hotel. The location couldn’t be better, the aesthetics are beautiful and the rooms were very clean and modern and comfortable! Even the hallways are tastefully decorated! I highly recommend this hotel and I highly recommend getting a room with the bathtub!

Had a wonderful stay here. Very intriguing and magical hotel. Service was fantastic. absolutely loved my superior room with beautiful view. Was so fun to receive my breakfast box in the morning. (Wish the breakfast box had a bit more variety but still very good). The location is perfect and close to many lounges and restaurants and museums. Would be more than happy to stay here again (:

Outstanding! Decor, fresh, modern and rooms are spacious with great closet space. Beautiful property. The staff goes above and beyond to answer questions, make reservations etc. Location, location centrally located and in walking distance to many historic attractions. I walked to the most popular locations and dinning areas from the hotel.

We visited the Charlevoix region in the summer of 2022 and stayed for 3 nights in Quebec City. We chose Monsieur Jean and we couldn't be more happy. The location is great and the hotel is beautiful. We chose a king room overlooking the city and it had a very comfortable bed and bed linens, and these beautiful big windows, lovely to look at during the day or night. The room had even a small kitchen nicely tucked behind doors that looked like a closet. The area is full of caffees and restaurants, where we had some good coffee every morning (just across from the hotel) and some wonderful dinners too. I would highly recommend Monsieur Jean.

The location of this hotel could not be better, close to everything we wanted to visit! The room was clean and modern, with a beautiful city view. Our room had a small kitchenette, which was amazing. The lobby was decorated nicely. The hotel’s parking was full, but there was a close public parking that we parked there for an even lower price.

We chose this hotel based on Expedia's good references and were delighted with our choice. This hotel has a very modern French interior design and the room we had was a work of art! it is nicer and bigger than my husband and I expected. It's such a comfortable stay at this hotel, especially when we didn't want to go out on a cold rainy day. We had a huge bathtub in our room which was very convenient to soak in with powdered sea salt provided by the hotel. Breakfast boxes were left outside our room door each morning as the reserved continental breakfast cannot be served during the restaurant renovation. Bad timing this time, but we still enjoyed every moment in this hotel. This location is very convenient with countless delicious restaurants within walking distance. The young gentleman named Yuber who helped us checked-in was very professional and super nice. Such a magnificent hotel in an awesome location with great services, we loved it! We would heartily recommend it to everyone!

All 5's for this one! Monsieur Jean is simply amazing with its location in Québec city. Rooms are spacious and well designed with incredible views. A must stay!

Boutique style with great, clean rooms. Centrally located, spacious bathroom, great bed and pillows. Kitchenette, with pans and utensils, pod style coffee maker, and a rather large fridge. All in all, a great place to stay and reasonably priced. Entrance lobby has a bunch of faux mirrors when you walk in that are displays that are linked to the entrance door. They would display a variety of things from balloons, to shooting stars, to butterflies traversing the screens, which added greatly to the experience of entering the hotel. We loved it. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend this place highly.

We spent a few wonderful days in Quebec at the beginning of June and stayed at the Hotel Monsieur Jean. The hotel is very centrally located, you can reach everything in historic Quebec in just a few minutes. There are also two parking garages right next to the hotel. The hotel seems to be new and has very interesting furnishings and decoration in the entrance area. Everything is very well maintained. Our room and the bathroom were large and modernly furnished. The room also had a small kitchen. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend the hotel for your stay in Quebec. The only drawback: The air conditioning sometimes turns up extremely at night and has led to many interruptions in sleep. You can't control the air conditioning using the thermostat in the room, because the system apparently is controlled centrally.

What an amazing hotel Mr Jean is ! There aren’t enough stars in the world to give it the true score it deserves! Located amazingly in the heart of absolutely everything, restaurants, shops, bars all on its doorstep! We arrived at around 11:30 feeling very tired of travelling and the staff went out of their way to have us assigned a lovely room well before we were even allowed to check in. We absolutely appreciated this so very much. The room is impeccable with good high quality, and very stylish amenities. The bed was absolutely amazing and the shower with an amazing pressure is divine. 10 out of 10 would stay here again! Mr Jean absolutely leaves all other hoteliers far-far behind! 💗

Came here during the civic holiday, old Quebec is a beautiful area to explore, every corner is a wonderful photo op. Monsieur Jean is located right on the strip, close by to restaurants, souvenir shops and beautiful architecture. Rooms were wonder and huge! Rooms were clean and all the staff are super friendly. Definitely recommended

Eccentric lobby with strange colourful art displays and self playing piano. Spacious room although some may lack window or can get noisy. Small kitchen included.

Higly recommended. Staff is very polite and helpful. Location is great in the center of Old city. Everything is at walking distance for this beautiful hotel. Looks like this hotel is newly built, so it’s clean with nice ambiance.

Me and my boyfriend didn’t know what to expect when staying in old Quebec and were debating between the fairmont and monsieur Jean. I can honestly say I’m so happy we picked monsieur Jean over the fairmont. The staff was wonderful, we checked out late and they were very understanding. The hotel is so beautiful and unique and we took some beautiful pictures. The whole ambiance is beautiful including every touch up until the lights on the ceiling. Will definitely be staying here when we come back! Thank you guys for the awesome customer service!!!

We were greated by William at the front desk, was the best guy told us where to eat and where to go was ready to help, well knowledge of everything in the area. The hotel was very pleasant to stay in I felt a shortage of staff though, but everything we needed was provided.

We had an amazing long weekend stay at Hotel Monsieur Jean! Our room was beautiful, corner windows with a view of Old Town, a huge shower and nice soaker tub. The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly! I accidentally forgot my gold earrings in the safe, only to realize hours after we had already checked-out. The staff was super helpful in finding them for me and putting them aside until I came back and got them. Super conveniently located hotel, right in the Old Town. Shops, restaurants and attractions all under a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Heated parking on-site for 30$ a night. Highly recommend Hotel Jean and will definitely be staying again!

It’s THE hotel to spend the night in Quebec City! Ideally located close to everything in the Old Quebec. Awesome decoration with a funny particular theme. Comfortable, super clean. We had to wait a bit for someone to show up for check-in and check-out but employees are very nice. Be advised: you have to choose if you want the breakfast the night before so if you’re hungry last minute in the morning and you didn’t order the breakfast no worries they are a lot of good restaurants and bakeries outside. Don’t forget to pass by the short story dispenser for your souvenir!

The best hotel experience of my life. Amazing decor, superb cleanliness, kind + helpful staff, wonderfully comfortable beds, luxurious, spa-like modern bathrooms, charming view of old Quebec... I mean, really this is a GEM... If you're in Quebec City, you will not regret staying here. Thank you for the wonderful experience — we will definitely be back every time we're in your city. Cheers!

It is a lovely Hotel in the centre of the town. Super clean and beautiful room, comfortable bed and an immaculate bathroom. The staff is welcoming and super friendly. We are in the town for two days staying one more day and I am enjoying every moment of my stay here. Most of the attractions in this old beautiful town are very close to this hotel. Highly recommend staying at Monsieur Jean!

Big rooms, kitchenette, and centrally located. What more can you ask for? The hotel itself is chic and modern with a lot of great art to discover everywhere. The room has lots of closet space and a rainhead shower. The bed is really comfortable but the pillows left a lot to be desired. Our stay included breakfast delivered to our door every morning. Breakfast was overall very good but the food is the same every day so it can get old. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking to stay in Old Québec

From the moment you open the door you are met with the most wonderful fragrance and then unique decor, Monsieur Jean is an amazing boutique hotel worth the price. We initially had a discrepancy where our reservation did not show up, the reception staff dealt with it quickly and offered as a similarly beautiful room. The room was incredible, amazing view of the river & old Quebec, comfortable bed, soft sheets, double sinks and gorgeous rain shower. We also loved the flooring and cozy carpet unique in a hotel. We had a few issues with our key card throughout our stay and the reception staff always quickly fixed it with a smile. The coffee from the cafe was delicious & wow- the croissants! We highly recommend if you want a unique hotel experience with an amazing location in the heart of Old Quebec!

Everything is perfect. Catherine and Benoit of front desk are the best people we met in our past decades travel! They are very nice and very helpful. Catherine helps us to make reservation of restaurants with so many calls. Both Catherine and Benoit help us design the best route of self guided tour of Quebec city. Thank you so much! The room is so beautiful and fashion and the view is great! The lobby is amazing! We will definitely come back for our next visit!

This is the coolest hotel decor. Everything is clean and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The staff is terrific. Catherine at the front desk went out to get a taxi, in the rain and rode it back to the hotel for us when ours didn’t show up and we we’re going to be late for dinner. They are so helpful with recommendations and making reservations. Thank you! Not only did we love the hotel but the staff really added to our enjoyment. I will be back. Merci
