French bistro. Delicious food and fantastic service! A must go for lunch or dinner. They also have private lounge for groups (picture is the main private lounge).

We walked in, no reservations for Monday evening. I was looking for authentic French food outside old Quebec City and stumbled upon this hidden gem! It was our best meal of the trip — the service was amazing. Our hostess Audrey (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was very attentive and polite. She explained the menu well (we don’t speak French) and we felt very welcomed by the whole restaurant. Ambience was very nice inside. The food and wine was top notch too! The Syrah from Spain paired very well with the food. The foie gras was amazing on the steak and potatoes. The homemade gnocchi and accompanying vegetables were delicious, as well as the creamy sauce. The beef tartare as appetizer was delicious! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Showed up with no reservations our server was very kind and took us into our table. We do not speak French. They only have French Menus. Our server took time to tell us about the menu. She spoke English very well. Food was absolutely amazing!! There were 3 servers and the restaurant and patio were basically full. They worked very well together and gave excellent service!! Thanks for an amazing evening...we really enjoyed it.

By far. Hands down. The best dishes I have ever had. The service was immaculate. The lighting and background music were perfect. I ordered the Salmon Tartare as an entrée and the Lamb as a main. Both were incredible but if you have to chose one, go with the Lamb. The menu is seasonal so hopefully they still have it when you go. Portions are great. We sat at the bar and the staff were extremely friendly. They were very busy but they always made sure our glasses of water were full. There are no English menus but Google Translate works fine. The menu is very limited and it appears they switch it up quite often. The food itself was good. The flavours of each dish are very good. We got the octopus entrée - there wasn't much octopus and it was cold (not sure if it was supposed to be served cold). Our mains came out 30 mins later. The filet mignon was cooked a bit unevenly - medium well on one end and medium rare on the other. The salmon tartare was good but the fish itself was very fishy. I wish they had included some dressing with the salad. This place is quite pricy but the portions are filling.

Nice and upscale but also a friendly atmosphere. Servers are genuinely nice and friendly. Food was perfect - everything was done not only right but also with a touch of creativity. It was surprisingly the best restaurant I've experienced in my little two day getaway in Quebec City - way better than a couple other restaurants I've been to around old Quebec City.

Clearly understaffed. But that's all I can possibly say that could seem critical. The whole experience was fantastic. Our sever was chipper and entertaining. The food was amazing. And it was a nice relaxing atmosphere. You must go. If you wait, it will be well worth it.

Absolute joy!! That's my only way to describe the experience we had here. Here, the menu items are food creations. From the soup of the day, to dessert... all were amazingly awesome and great value for the cost. Checkout the pics for details. Marssil, our server, completed the experience. He exemplifies someone who loves food and what he does. His attentiveness and recommendations were great. We were a party of 3 with reservations, which I strongly recommend as the restaurant fills quickly after 6:00pm. It's a local favourite, and not much to see from the outside. Look for the yellow umbrellas! I highly recommend a visit if you're in the vicinity of Quebec City!

Rich flavors! The best appetizer and main course I had.

My wife and I were on a road trip through the Northeastern United States and Canada. Wanting to visit and get acquainted with the Quebec province and especially Quebec City, we decided to spend a few days there. My wife has always researched and choreographed our vacations to the smallest detail. Anyway, she arranged a dinner at Bistro La Cohue on a Friday evening. After noticing the restaurant was located 7 miles from the old Quebec City, in a strip mall, I was a bit reluctant to spend my evening in that location. I did read the excellent reviews and decided to venture out. The food, presentation and service were second to none. Our waitress, Carole could not have been more attentive and the desert bought a tear to my eyes. Had I skipped my reservation, I would have lost out on one of the best restaurants in the Quebec City area. Drive there, escape the tourist area, ignore the Strip mall, and enjoy the amazing hospitality of a true local Quebec City experience.

What an amazing discovery! I’d give 6 stars on 5 for this one if I could. We stopped as a group of six late on July 27th. The food was just amazing and the service was impeccable! We had good laughs with Kathleen who was an incredible waitress. She was always a step ahead and was so fun. She’s been working there for around 10 years and you can see she loves people and her job. I think the newest waiter has been working there 2.5 years unfortunately I forgot to ask his name. He was a super nice guy as well. They look like a big family and this really makes a good ambiance. I wish we could stay another day to go back. Next time we’re in Quebec it will be top on our list. Thanks for the great experience!

My experience at Bistro La Cohue was great. The food was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly cooked and was also a great portion. Along with the great food, the service was just amazing. We had come in quite late after a long day of driving across the country and Robert met us with so much energy. He was very attentive, friendly and he even spoke multiple languages (including Spanish for some of the other guests). Amazing food, great atmosphere, great service.

Really nice spot fora fancy brunch. I had the waffle with duck confit breakfast and my partner had the scallop and pork flank breakfast. Both were delicious. I maxed out on the salt from the duck confit before I finished, but that's confit for you. The oyster mushrooms and the leek sauce were perfect.

Delicious food. Friendly and quick service. This restaurant had a 3 course meal option for the kids. Which was considerate for families whom enjoy taking their kids out to dine with them. It was a nice touch. For the kids we ordered the potage, pasta rosée, chocolaté ice-cream with caramel. The wife had the carre agneau and I had the steak and fries. I preferred the steak. It was cooked perfectly. The lamb was a little bit too rare but was still enjoyable. Chocolate truffle with a strawberry purée to finish us off. Good night!

Reallllly impressed with this food and their takeout system for Covid was really well done. Lobster risotto was PERFECT. Joue de Beauf was amazing too. And pouding chomeur with cheese on top was super sexy.

The service is 10/10. We couldn’t find a place near the fairmont so we drove to this little place and it didn’t disappoint!! We had the best server who gave excellent recommendations, not to mention the great ambiance inside!! Highly recommended!!!!

My husband and I came here and are both vegetarian. We quickly noticed they did not have any vegetarian options on the menu. The waitress told us that she could speak to the chef to try and make us something special. He made us the best, most deliciously cheesy pasta dish we have ever had in our lives. Our waitress was also amazing!! best service and best food! We will be returning for sure when we come back to Quebec City!!!!

Food, service are top-notch. We ordered lamb and duck breast. The wait was a bit long, but worth the wait after we tasted the food. Will come back for sure. One of the 2 best French restaurants I've tried in Quebec
