Very historical location, we had a tours around the house, back to the prohibition, good service with Sarah we recommend, so fun we had there with live band, dancing & singing 🎶 🎵 and funny hat provided by resturant that makes ambiance very extraordinary 🤪🤣🤩

We had an amazing time!!! You really really need to go here!!! Everything, from the drinks to the appetizers to the main course to the desert... entertainment and tour of the house! I'm in awe!!! Splurge on the baby back ribs!! Like DO NOT PASS the opportunity to savor the best, fall off the bone, tasty, home cooked, heavenly Baby back ribs!!!! I had the venison and am sooooo picky on the freshness and cooking time. It was perfect 🥰 like melt in my mouth perfect!! Desert was yummy and my French kiss and night cap crowned everything perfectly 🥰 💞

An amazing experience! Learn about the history of Charlevoix region. Tour through the house before dinner in many secret rooms. Food was delicious! Staff and service was great! The live rock and roll band at night was awesome! Plan to go for dinner and the whole evening.

Very interesting evening. Staff and location were wonderful. The appetizers were good, but the mains were all poor and pricey. The music and dancing was very fun.

Giving this place a 5 star because it was like a big surprise! Magical. The tour, the history and the ambiance are unique. On another note the food was good (not impressed) and be prepared $$$

Very unique experience of being in a place that was actually used to serve alcohol during prohibition. Excellent tour (en francais) of the hidden rooms. Fantastic steak and a fun band and show after dinner. Elvis and JFK have been there too. Oh, this was the first time I have seen booze as a dessert option on a prix fixe menu.

The place and atmosphere was s great but the food not so much and let's not talk about the service... Very bad. It took them 45 minutes to prepare and serve 2 burgers. It wasn't even good. They definitely have a management issue, very slow and innefective.

If you are up for a fun and informative experience go to the Bootlegger for a tour, dinner and a show. Wonderful and attentive servers, great food and stay for the band/dancing. The tour is fascinating. If you are in the area and up for a fun night just go and prepare for a party.

Be warned. If you call and make a reservation SPECIFY that you want a table for two of that is the case. There are not many. A part of their experience is sitting you at a table with 8 other people. Not fun. And when you say you dont want to be squished up against people you dont know for supper, its like you insult them. Our waitress told is THIS ISN’T a MIKE’s RESTAURANT. I actually like Mike’s but ok. We waited for the tour but it takes time. Got it. We got there at 1800, got our salad at 1930, main meal at 2000. People were getting hungry. My wife liked her surf and turf, my ribs were very dry (overcooked) and two other tables also sent back the meat to get reheated? Why? Because they take everyone order at the same time. Yes, plates will be cold and potentially overcooking. Allowing to sit to long. Anyway, we paid, did not wait for dessert or tour and just left. If you go with a bunch of people im sure its a lot of fun. Waited all week for this awesome bbq style restaurant. Left mad and disappointed.. UPDATE SINCE RESPONSE FROM BOOTLEGGER - Thank you for the response. You say that sometimes things don't go the way they should? Thank you for admitting there were problems. But, I still had to pay 240$ (with tip). Quite frustrating. Thank you

Good bits: The tour, the price of beverages (DD is a must because someone will be driving!) and the energy of wait staff (they have to yell because the atmosphere is very loud). The bad bits: The steak was tough and very salty, corn on cob (soggy and cold) tasted like canned corn, potato was dry/over-baked yet barely hand-warm. Arrived at six, salad plate came around 7:30 then the main at 8:45.

The steak itself was okey, nothing mind blowing, especially for the price. The salad, dessert and the mocktail were pretty good tho. The house was interesting to visit.
