Very nice hotels with large rooms and nice amenities. We wish the bed were a bit larger as they are quite small for 2x people. Also the service could be improved specially when they expect big groups

3 D experience Dirty, Dingy, Damaged Review of Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile So disappointed. This a hotel with a previously great reputation. We will never stay there again. The hotel needs serious refurbishment. Our room had a lovely view but that’s it. Empty hole for a fireplace (see photo), non-functioning coffee maker, outdated and small bathroom with a non-functioning shower head that flooded the bathroom and a shower curtain with a hole in it. The hotel elevators were actually filthy and damaged. Come on, for the price the Fairmount charges Is this the best they can do? Date of stay: August 2022 Trip type: Travelled as a couple

Charlevoix is a gem! We loved this resort with our young children! We enjoyed playing tennis, swam in the pools, enjoyed the walking trails. The restos were very enjoyable. We had a king suite and it was very large and spacious. A bit dated but lovely nonetheless. The staff were amazing!

We stayed here two nights. The hotel is situated on a cliff over the St Lawrence River and also hosted the G7 conference a few years ago. I thought the hotel and room were beautiful. However I have much grief over the absent service and the horrible wifi! Generally the staff cannot communicate too well in English, and our dinner reservations were botched. The hotel seemed to be staffed at a minimum in general. When we visited the bar one evening, only one person was taking orders for the entire patio and indoor. Also, the wifi network kept dropping off of my phone and there was a whole morning where wifi was completely unavailable. Furthermore, I found it frustrating that there were no exit doors toward the back of the hotel, and accessing our car required walking through the entire hotel to walk around the backside of the hotel again. It’s a beautiful hotel, and we were swayed to stay here because of the history, but I am overall disgruntled about my experience.

If you are looking for a complete R & R this is the place for you. gorgeous property, fantastic Front Desk. The concierge is super knowledgeable and helpful. ask for Alexandra or Maggie- both gems. The resort has many activities to experience. I would recommend the rock climbing; Brendan was absolutely fantastic. To me this resort was brilliant but what was not so great was the housekeeping team. they did an abysmal job of cleaning. They forgot to stock up coffee, even shampoo- conditioner- body soap. Not the standard you would expect from Fairmont.

Pro: The hotel has a nice pool which the kids and I enjoyed. The hotel is decorated nice and smells good when you walk in. Most of the employees are nice especially the check in counter. They were flexable with my late checkout I requested as I had 2 young kids and a toddler with me Cons: The rooms are okay at most. The beds are squeeky, the washroom toilet has yellow stains and my 5 year old refuse to go on and ask me to clean it. Last time I came, the shower kept leaking but that didnt bother me too much. The nespesso machine makes very very small cups of coffee or should i say it only brew espresso although it has 2 cup size options. My stall was overall good until this morning. I come here 4-5 times a year with my family usually booking 2 or 3 rooms at a time for usually a stay of 2 nights and sometimes 4 nights if we are enjoying the stay. I don't say im any honor guest but I do come to this hotel quite a bit. My last stay was in November and the one before was July. WHAT MADE ME REALLY MAD THAT I HAD TO WRITE THIS REVIEW is that I have asked the cleaner for more coffee throughout my stay for the 2 rooms i booked during my stay of 2 nights, as the adults in my family are coffee drinkers. The cleaner gave me 6 for each room on the 2nd day. We usually drink a medium coffee with a shot of espresso in the morning. But since their coffee is such a small amount I use 3 capsules per cup. The following day I asked her for more. She asked me why and said she already gave me some yesterday. I told her that im sorry, i like to drink bigger cup of coffee. If it is a problem, Id go buy my coffee. She said "i can give them to you but usually its enough for others and that ill give you only this time". Im not sure what she meant but that made me angry like drinking coffee is a crime or that we are not normal. I thought coffee is a complementary to the hotel like shampoo or soap. She then proceeds to ask me if im done with my room and it was at 10:30am which got me annoyed because she has asked me at 10am already if I was finish with my rooom when I was bringing my things to my car. I felt like I was rushed to leave so she can clean it. So I rushed everyone in one room even though I have late checkout so I can check out that room and she can clean it. I have never in my life been asked if I was finished with my room when i stay at a hotel or have been told I ask for too much complementary such as coffee. I am not sure if she has something against me because i am an english speaker or if im asian or if she doesnt like my looks. For an hotel chain like the Fairmont, I expect a lot more. I felt like Im at a motel or wrost. These comments have ruined my day. To be honest, I am not sure if I will book again as I leave feeling like I am doing something wrong or living a bad life style by drinking more coffee. When i checked out my rooms, the front desk supervisor did apologize to me as it should not happen since coffee is complementary and i could ask for more as needed and that I should not be rushed or asked if i was done with my room as i do have late checkout or even regular check out at 11am and it wasn't even 11am. But the bad feeling of getting judged does not go away. Im very very dissapointed with this stay. I shouldn't base my stay just on this one cleaning lady but im on a mini vacation and i feel as a hotel like fairmont, a guest should feel welcomed and comfortable. I did not feel welcomed at all. I always leave a tip but this time I did not, it is the only time in my life staying at a place not leaving a tip.

The Fairmont Chateau exceeded expectations with its luxurious accommodations, impeccable service, and breathtaking views. The elegant decor and attention to detail created a truly indulgent experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay memorable. The on-site amenities, including heated pool, spa services added to the overall charm. A stay at the Fairmont Chateau is a splurge worth every penny.

Excellent location. The river view rooms are great. The hotel grounds are well-kept and are perfect for a stroll. There are great viewing points around the walking trail and an AR game you can play with your kids on the trail. Staff do their best to assist however they seem understaffed and overworked. Valet service slows down after 8 p.m. as there is only one staff allocated. The server at one of the restaurants served soup while his thumb was in it 😵 The tables at which we were seated needed to be cleaned, our server obliged and cleaned it and brushed all the stuff on the table and all of the stuff was on the floor. 😵‍💫 The front desk asked me to check with the valet desk about a question I had about parking. Felt like I was checking in at a B&B. Other similar hotels usually have that info on hand and make an effort to get information they might not have. Asking a customer to go back out and check for info at the valet desk seemed a bit odd. I wouldn't be picky if it weren't a 5-star. I would visit again for sure just for the view.

100% the best Fairmont i have been in. Staff takes there time to address your need. you are not rushed. in a world where everything is rushed, the Fairmount makes you feel important. I loved every moment. I got to play tennis, fish, golf, swim, spa, hike, run, walk, have lemonade, love every moment. All in one spot. Treat yourself. Life is short. Trust me.

Stayed here with a group. Dinner the first night was a 2. Chicken with pea purée? No potatoes. Vegetables we couldn’t identify. Charged $23 for a glass of wine! Waiter was rude when I questioned it. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was good as well. Casino was in a labour dispute so was disappointed with that. Would not return.

The location is absolutely amazin and the view, breath taking. The rooms are huge and beds very comfortable. The carpets were never vacuumed and while the rooms appear clean, walking barefoot was gross. Check in was long and painful. When we eventually spoke to someone, he was fabulous. We were there for an association event. The bar cocktail service was slow, but good (1 bartender for a group of about 250 people). The food was literally o.k. As someone who has recently worked in a restaurant and doing catering for large groups, the staff were horrible.

I had the pleasure of staying in a room with a picturesque river view and I wholeheartedly recommend this exquisite lodging option. This establishment boasts an exceptional ambiance complemented by an array of activities that cater to diverse interests, including but not limited to, an enticing pool, a refreshing swimming pool, a dynamic tennis court, and an invigorating ski doo experience. The stunning vistas are a sight to behold and exude an aura of serenity that is unparalleled. I can confidently say that this is an extraordinary haven for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.

I will start by saying I have stayed at Fairmonts across Canada. This hotel is not to Fairmont standards. We were at this hotel for a conference at the end of May. The service was terrible. People had to change rooms during their stay. We had to request that the coffee shop open at times posted. The bar service was extremely slow. We had a reception on one of the patios. The patio stones were cracked and broken. Steps in the front of the hotel were also cracked and chipped. The gardens were in disarray. The hotel did have an amazing view. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

My daughter and I stopped by to have a beverage on the terrace. No servers for 30 minutes. Then I went to the bar (not close to the terrace) and ordered. 20 minutes later, still no drinks. Finally, a server showed up and presented me a bill for the previous people who occupied the table. Obviously, they had waited to pay, got fed up, and left. The server apologized but we left without having a beverage. Fairmont management need to know this.

Came up from the United States for a snowmobile vacation. First time there and with a big trailer in tow it was hard to figure out where the entrance was. After some sign reading we made it down to the main entrance only to be yelled at by a bell hop telling me not to park near the circle. Hey I just drove 10 hours to get to the hotel. I'll comply with the rules but please be courteous and work with your customers. After that we found out there are no luggage carts only pay for Bell hop service. With all the gear we bring on these trips that is very hard to swallow especially considering the parking lot is very far away from just about any room on premises . We made a mistake before leaving the US by not getting our trail passes online. Unfortunately the hotel had no business center to deal with this issue . That is completely unheard of in this modern world. A very friendly manager named Sophie helped us using the service desk computers and was very gracious about doing so. The heated sled garage is nice but again a trek to get there with our gear on and carrying saddlebags . Luggage carts would have saved us a number of times there. The room and facilities were top notch. Bed sheets were very plush and the room was very quiet. Bathroom was spacious and had plenty of hot water. Restaurant served delicious food and the service was good. Breakfast was especially nice with many tasty options . Lots of private places to have your coffee in the AM and soak in the view of the St Lawrence . Hope this helps someone deciding to stay there with snowmobiles in tow. Jim

Disappointed by a single nite stop. Unfortunately, our expectations didn't meet the reality at this high-end hotel. Very dated rooms, including everything. Carpet, furniture, electronics. Room very small. Downloaded electronic door keys(APP)didn't work properly, so we had to get the usual ones. Great-pool and sauna, restaurant (breakfast), and surely location. Unfortunately, overall, we felt that this place was just a money-making machine.

The manor looks great and is well kept. The view of the St-Lawrence River is gorgeous and there are many activities directly at the hotel. I would have rated it 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of experience of the waiters. We're all aware that the pandemic was hard for all businesses and that hotels like this one lost a lot of experienced staff, but for the price they charge for rooms and food it's very disappointing. Waiters should not always be repeating "we're low on staff", especially when the restaurant is not full and it's a buffet.

Perfect vacation resort! As gorgeous as it appears in pictures, what really sets this hotel apart is the range of activities and the thoughtful of execution. The mini golf course looks like a real golf course with the hotel in the background. The outdoor pool is heated - we swam for hours when it was only 55 degrees outside plus the hot tubs and indoor steam room were luxurious. The little touches - tiny robes for the kids after their swim, indoor archery and games in a ballroom in a rainy day, a well stocked playroom, an incredible singer in the bar on a Monday night - have made this a world class destination for us.

Our room has double beds only but they are comfortable. Personally, I prefer a queen size bed. The breakfast has an excellent variety of food and the crepes suzette in maple cream are so good.

Beautiful, clean and luxurious property with superb service. We stayed for 4 nights and met New Year in the hotel (with best fireworks we have ever seen). Despite staying during the busiest time, the hotel never felt full as it is very spacious. We really enjoyed water facilities - outdoor (heated) and indoor swimming pools, jacuzzis and a steam room. Gym has modern equipment and machines. We enjoyed going for a hike on the property with breathtaking views of the river. There was tobogganing and skating on the property but unfortunately the snow melted as the weather became mild. My kid liked the game room and a playroom for younger kids. Do take buffet breakfast - it was truly the best with high quality ingredients and our favourite -maple butter crepes! Rooms were very quiet and specious, bathroom was big. We personally loved old fashioned decor of the rooms which matches hotel’s style. We also appreciate that hotel is trying to be more environmentally cautious and doesn’t use plastic cups and has recycling and composting bins in hallways. All employees from a doorman to a swimming pool supervisor were super friendly and welcoming. This created a very pleasant atmosphere where guests say Hallo/Bonjour to each other and feel relaxed.

We booked for 2 nights and were disappointed that this hotel does not meet the standard you would expect from a Fairmont. Although the location is beautiful, it is a historic building in desperate need of upgrading. Wood is scraped and worn, carpets looking well overdue for refurbishment. Staffing is at a minimum. Restaurant prices were ridiculously expensive and it looks as if the restaurant downstairs needed a thorough cleaning of the floors. Beds were comfortable though. For the price we should have stayed elsewhere.

Beautiful location with good amenities and facilities. My biggest complaint is the location of the guest parking. It's far away and a struggle to climb all the stairs. I dreaded when I realized I left something and had to make the trek to the parking lot. I decided that was enough and the next day I opted for valet parking. Room was a bit dated and had an odd odour.

We were a group of seven people who were hoping to enjoy the usual level of service given at the Fairmont Hotels. Sadly very disappointed! The tennis courts were unusable, the games room inaccessible, the staff unable to serve you in the sun room. Broken Coffee machines in le bar, and the rooms were just a few of the inconveniences. A large convention was ongoing and the whole place was very badly understaffed, and it seems that regular guests are second rate. On the positive the check in staff were excellent and helpful!

Hotel is stunning from the outside, casino was nice and the town is charming however for what you pay the rooms are terribly outdated and small. Receptionist wasn't helpful or friendly upon check in and seemed bothered by our presence. She also had no clue about the packages we paid or what they entailed. Told us we didn't have free breakfast which was included in the package we paid for and had no ambitions to look into it. Had to go to the concierge to enquire because the receptionist was less than helpful. The concierge was very nice and helpful. Originally booked for two nights and after check in immediately cancelled the second night.

We hit this place on the way back from Tadoussac and it was a well deserved little rest spot. The hotel has everything down to indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. I recommend taking a little hike down the planetary hike. The concierge will give you a Mao of a hike that crosses the grounds and offers amazing scenic views and some fun activities for kids. We even got to see some Whales from the furthest observation point. Downside.. I tried cracking the ac to 18 and it stopped at 23. So hot sleepers beware.

Prime location in Charlevoix, a unique experience and pretty special to see a G7 memorial plate and having the staff explaining which country’s leader slept in which room. The decor inside gives a cool ambiance of a castle! The hotel also has multiple activities beside to do, like a hiking trail right beside the establishment so you don’t have to go too far. Just watch out when it’s high season, because it tends to get quite busy and crowded and the staff seems to be overwhelmed, service seemed a little affected during our visit, but overall it was still a fun stay!

Beautiful location, great pool with amazing view and very hot water. Definitely older style rooms (small beds, small windows and outdated look), but beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. It was nice to be able to get a room for 5 (2 adults & 3 kids). This isn’t an option in many hotels.
