Great ambience and friendly staff, food wise it’s average for the price you’re paying for. The flat iron steak was cold and tough. Carbonara was good, while the truffle lunette tastes great but small in portion. Overall, it’s okay.

Food was tasty and great portions. Beef steak was hard to cut. It was a great dinner and experience until the waitress started suggesting how much tip I should be leaving while paying the bill.

Don't waste your time to put your name on their list for getting a table. I put my name on the list for a table around 7:30 PM and I could see many vacant tables at that time and they told me there were few guests ahead of me. I didn't receive any text messages and asked them and they said it's fine and we'll call you once your table ready. I stayed there for 45 mins and there was no new guest coming. Aftre 50 mins, They finally told me that they can't accept us! Lack of staff management was obvious and I also talked to the FOH manager and she was very rude and couldn't provide any reason about why they couldn't host us. I wish there was a 0 star option.

Food is overpriced and not good at all. Got the burnt bruschetta, had to send them back. The newer ones were burnt too. The pasta had so much truffle in it that it tasted bitter. Did not enjoy the last meal of our Quebec trip. Will not visit again.

We had our lunch here in this restaurant. We ordered only to mains and 1 cocktail and 1 juice for our little one. It costs us more than 120 cad including taxes. Both the dish was good. Mine was coquille sans coquille , that was seafood platter with 3 -4 small pieces of salmon, 1 shrimp and few squids veggies with mashed potatoes. It was tasty and it looks great but pricey as per the amount of fish and other things provided in dish. Other one was mainly salmon and it looked great. Only alert that if you don't like uncooked fish, don't go for it or mention it to them in advance. So initially they gave uncooked fish which was just cooked outside, but after request that was well made later. That tasted great as well. So no complaint with their food taste or looks. Ambience was great as we had our on lunch outside patio area. It was little pricey though, may be because high end restaurant and the location was right on Quebec village near Frontenac . I will give 4/5 to them.

Nice ambience and food, service not so much. Our waiter was delightful, but everyone else was not. It seemed like every employee in the restaurant did not like us and wanted us gone. Our waiter asked us if we wanted new bread when she checked on us because it was much rather burnt, and when our new bread came out, the guy who dropped it off did not seem to like us in the slightest. Overall, we did not feel welcome, which is unfortunate because the food and drinks were very good.

One of the best restaurants in Old Quebec for sure. Their key lime pie is the best key lime pie I’ve ever had. Try it! Also try their cocktail! Nice decoration and cool vibes. You can meet famous people here sometimes too. Keep your eyes open, fellas!

Food is truly sub par... had the short rib and if not for the wine i ordered well...it would have a complete waste. I would suggest nachos anywhere. Has to be better than that disaster of a meal. My strong recommendation is go anywhere else if you want good food. Service though was awesome but you can't put that on a plate when you are hungry!

Amazing food! Amazing cocktails and a wide selection of liquors. The staff is wonderful and helpful with suggestions if you want them. The menu has great breadth and the three dishes we had—steak, catch of the day, and scallops were all exquisitely prepared. We’ll definitely be back!

So classy and amazing food...we had the Caesar Brussel Sprouts which came warm with pancetta pieces and croutons mixed with a creamy Ceasar dressing and the Coquille sans Coquille ...which was served with scallops, pieces of salmon, mashed potato and fennel ...exquisite!. $$$ bon appétit

My favorite thing to do in Quebec is restaurant hopping. I hit this one up for the French onion soup and a good drink. I like how the French onion soup has a touch of sweetness to it. I really like the crisp brighter atmosphere.

5 stars all round. Exceptional. The vin chaud is the best I have tasted. Risotto: first class. Beef, also. Have been a few times - also enjoyed the sharing platter of cheese and cold meats. Love the way they serve olives warm - sounds a bit strange, but delicious. Strong recommendation if you want a first class meal.

Unbelievable Experience and Food! My girlfriend and I stayed in Quebec City for 4 nights. We stopped by Alphonse on Night 1 and it was so delicious that we ended up eating here again. The charcuterrie board was to die for. French Onion Soup perfectly executed. The Roasted Salmon with Couscous was divine and perfectly seasoned. The chocolate pear dessert was perfection. Wait staff was also amazing. I will definitely be back when I visit again. I was so thoroughly impressed. Thank you so much for everything!!! YUM!!!

Not recommended! Our only bad experience we had in Quebec City was with this place! The waitresses there are really the problem based on our experience and also others people’s experiences in the comments. We went there pretty late to eat something. The place was pretty empty and the waitresses were giving us a weird look while we were waiting to be seated. When one of them came to see us and we asked her for a place for 2 she said oh hmm it’s fully booked! It was obvious that is not fully booked so we did not understand what was the issue the only plausible reason is RACISM since we are brown ppl ( we still don’t understand).

We had an excellent lunch here just ordering the snacks (olives, spiced nuts and cheese plates) plus the broccoli salad. Everything was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. The waiter was excellent. We sat inside but the patio was very popular.

Excellent experience here. Cocktails were delightful, I had the De Grandes, very light and refreshing. For dinner, I had the guinea fowl. The dauphine potatoes were a dream. Like a bite sized popover. Our server was kind and very patient (we do not speak French) and offered to take our pictures, Def try this. And I will be back:)

We stumbled upon this place during our walk and were able to get a table without reservation. The staff were friendly and welcoming and took their time to answer our questions about their menu. I had the Brussel sprout Caesar- wasn’t expecting it to be warm, it was surprising and delicious. We also shared a few dishes, the carbonara being one, and we were really happy with it, and the amount of pancetta 😉 I had a classic French martini and the proportions were perfect (I’m picky) ❤️

We had the charcuterie platter and the St.Jacques seafood. It was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Gabriel was our server/bar tender. Great guy. We will be back here next visit to Quebec City for sure.

Love the vegetarian options of this restaurant!!! The appetizers are quite large in potions but light and healthy. Staff are professional and just the right amount of friendliness.

Great food and excellent service! Ask for the ‘out of menu’ main plate, the duck was out of this world! Great cocktails as well.

Really good cocktails. Wish I had tried the food because it also looked amazing. The ambiance is really cool. And the windows make it look like you're part of the street, you can see the nice park and old buildings in front.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff and great service. Alphonse is definitely a good option to eat while visiting the Old Quebec. Menu choices are very interesting, vegan options available too. If you rather prefer to eat delicious avoiding the tourist traps, this is the perfect place for you. Our food was amazing, we got the lunch special accompanied, of course, with a cocktail.

Great location and ambiance. Had cocktails and snacks and they were all really good. Closely located to the Chateau Frontenac. Will definitely come back next time we are in Quebec City.

This seems like the local popular spot for cocktails in downtown Quebec City. We stopped by for an after-dinner drink, as this was recommended to us by the wait staff at another local restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was bustling and there was fun interior art, but we sat outside and had a different experience. The vibe looked more fun indoors so we will have to try that next time. The outside patio was great for people watching. 4 stars for the outdoor experience but I would probably rate it 5 stars if we sat inside.

My experience was fine and the meals were good but not amazing. I had some olives and nuts for aperitif and the salad niçoise. Cocktails were good but it took some times to get them.

👍 We were there for lunch and there was no lineup. We ordered the croissant sandwiches and coffee, both are freshly made. Highly recommend. Staff are very helpful to suggest food from the menu.
