Sam’s walking tour was warm, fun, funny (we did laugh at least 3 times!), engaging and filled with cool facts. His passion for his city really shows. Booking was easy and you get a confirmation immediately with where to meet and timing info (check ur diff mailboxes tho- mine went to promo/spam). He’s also very responsive via email if you have questions. Def book early bc his tours do fill up. For anyone worried about walking for 2 hours: the tour goes by real quick and you stop at diff points so you’re not straight up walking the whole time- a pleasant stroll; also, the Old Town tour is mostly flat and/or downhill walking and going down the “break neck stairs” once (it’s not as bad as the name implies- 4 flights with landings to rest if you need. Not steep stairs either- though not sure how it’d be during the winter with snow/ice). We hit up the major touristy spots and some lesser-known ones (and if you want to really get off the beaten path, highly recommend Sam’s Quebec Like a Local tour too! It was super interesting and shows a different side of the city- also a relaxed walk- no rough uphill walking if you’re concerned. The Quebec Like Local tour is about a 20-30 min walk from Old Town). Sam’s generous with his knowledge, gives great recommendations and truly seems to care if you have a good time in Quebec. Remember to bring cash to tip for the tour(s)! Merci, Sam, bibliothèque!

We stopped in Quebec City for 2 days on our way from Ontario to PEI and did a walking tour with Sam. So glad we did! Sam is a knowledgeable and funny guy who showed us places even the locals aren’t familiar with. You’re guaranteed to laugh and have fun on his tour while getting an education on the city’s history at the same time. Highly recommended. Merci Sam! - Amanda, Sarah and Melea

A great tour yesterday with Sam Dubois. He brought the history of Quebec and Canada to life in a clear and interesting way. We saw parts of historix Old Quebec which I think even locals would not be aware of...the Old Gaol and Libraries to name but two. Easy pace, with some downward stair sections which can prob be avoided if necessary. Definitely recommended.

An Awesome Old Quebec Tour Sam is a great tour guide. His tour is the perfect balance of Quebec history, culture and life. It's a very interesting tour, he is funny, motivated, with good and relevant information about the city. Sam even gave us recommendations about music, food and other places to visit. We remembered his words and histories when we were walking by ourselves days after the tour. My family had a wonderful and happy time and learned a lot about this wonderful city. By sure, next time we will contact Sam again for our next adventure in Quebec!

A visit to Quebec will not be complete without booking a place on the walking tour of Old Quebec with Samuel Dubois. If you're visiting the city for a few days then book it for the first morning as it will help you shape the your itinerary for the rest of your stay. Samuel gives great insight into the history of this fabulous city in a fascinating, relaxed and oft humourous style. This man is a credit to his city and his tour is not to be missed

Had an amazing time on Samuel’s Walking Tour of Old Quebec City. He has a natural charm and witty manner. Loved all the history mixed with interesting tidbits about this beautiful city. Learned an incredible amount of knowledge one would never have known even after reading guide book information. Highly recommend booking this walking tour. Totally enjoyable way to spend several hours while in Québec City!

Great experience! Samuel is knowledgable, funny, friendly and knows how to represent the most interesting chapters of Quebec's history in entertaining way. The part about Hitchkock's "I Confess" was very special to me, I love the movie and had no idea it was filmed in Quebec City. I took his suggestions about places to visit and spent amazing evening at the jazz club that does free music nights on Mondays! I learnt a lot about both the history of the city and it's todays life. This tour was definitely a highlight of my trip. Highly recommended. Merci beaucoup, Samuel!

My husband and I had the pleasure of joining Sam on his walking tour of Quebec City this morning in early August and we cannot recommend this to others enough! Sam provides a great historic and funny tour of Quebec City and does a great job of giving advice on places to eat, drink, explore and experience to make the most of your visit to the city. Something unique about this tour is that yes, Sam, does cover all the highlights of this beautiful quaint city, but he also talks about the not so pretty side of the history of the city and Canada as whole. He also doesn’t just give a tour for tourists and the tourist hot spots, but he covers a lot cool local places, facts and stories. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful tour of Old Quebec City with Sam and we highly recommend. Sam mixed deep knowledge of the city with wonderful humor which made the tour entertaining and engaging. The tour was well-organized and well-timed, and it showed that Sam had a lot of experience and feedback. We learned a lot about the city, its history and culture, and we also got some great tips for other things to do and see.

Sam’s tour was fantastic and everything we were looking for as we ventured throughout Quebec City. He shared some great tips and recommendations which we explored on the following days of our visit. Best of all, he delivered the tour and little bits history in alternating funny, poignant, and entertaining ways that kept the entire tour group engaged and gave us plenty to think about. We found ourselves frequently quoting and referencing Sam for the remainder of our trip. He has a great city as his canvas and he earned every bit of his tip and our praise. We highly recommend his tour, it is well worth your time!

We've made habit taking walking tours in major cities whenever we travel, and Samuel's tour of Quebec City was everything we've come to expect: friendly, welcoming, informative, and fun! Would highly recommend reaching out if you're traveling to this city.

Sam was great! He was very knowledgeable and engaging. The tour length was just long enough to cover a lot but not too long to lose my kids’ interest. Highly recommend booking early and bringing cash for tip! He accepts US dollars as well.

Sam’s two-hour Old Quebec tour is full of good information about history, buildings, Quebec quirks and famous people, and is sprinkled with humour. He welcomed us individually. He is knowledgeable and experienced. I attended many of his online Heygo tours during the Covid-restricted years, and it was a pleasure to experience his tour in person. (Do tip him, at the end!)

Sam was a really funny guy who showed us a lot and who gave us a lot of informative funfacts. The tour was awesome eventhough it was below -20°C and we were all freezing, but we kept on going with Sam. Quebec is an amazing city and if you’re visiting, definitely take the free walking tour with Sam!

This tour is great. Samuel is knowledgeable and entertaining. Despite the snow, rain and sleet, we enjoyed the tour and learned so much. Our time in Quebec was limited, so we really appreciated that he didn’t cancel due to bad weather. He gave great recommendations for things to see & do.

Excellent tour guide with obvious in-depth knowledge of Quebec. Loved his link to movies that had been filmed here. Will be going back home to find Hitchcock ‘I confess’ had never heard of it previously.would recommend his tour whole heartedly.

Samuel Dubois was the most entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide of our Old Quebec tour. Our foursome likened it to having signed up for an excellent outdoor comedy show intertwined with touring a living museum...Old City. The tour was FUN, educational and memorable. Thank you Samuel for sharing your humor, wit, extensive knowledge and recommendations relative to making the most of our visit. BRAVO, we departed...100% satisfied!!

What a guy. Sam was funny, informative, took us off the beaten path and made sure that everyone on the tour felt included and had a great time. He took the time to get to know people, where we were from and how long we were all in QC for - and he tailored his tour for us. Absolutely take this when you're in Quebec City (and preferably at the start of your trip). You will love Sam and his tour!

This tour is good for both young & old & for families. Make sure to book on his website. Tipping is optional but deserves every dollar you give him.
