café Olive

Cafe

🫤 Coffee was decent but the customer service was not. The barista definitely had a sense of superiority/borderline arrogance for unknown reasons. This did not feel like a welcoming environment. I can see other reviews have called out the same. People often mention coffee, Quebec, friendly, staff, cafe, latte, espresso, nice, great,

Beautiful little cafe in old Quebec. The design of this cafe is a 10/10. They went with a minimalistic and clean look. Although the space is so small the owners seemed to make it work by using warm and light colors which open up the space. For seating they have a stand up bar where you could stand and drink your coffee, a small table in the hidden corner for two people and some seating outside for the warmer weather. The couple at the bar was very welcoming and spoke English. I ordered a latte with oat milk - yes they have lactose free options. The latte art was beautiful but I some how managed to ruin it before I could take a picture. The latte was milky, had notes of sweetness and yet you could still taste the espresso in it which I loved. Definitely one of the best lattes I have tried to date. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting old Quebec.

Glad we found this cafe on our last day at Quebec. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Very good interior design and drinks as well. One of the few cafes that actually serves shakerato. Highly recommend this coffee shop if you are in the area.

Tasted the Brazilian "9 Mulheres" after recommendation from a friend and had to immediately go back to get all varieties, absolutely amazing coffee. These are all light roasts so be prepared to taste the fruity notes described and make sure that you prepare it right. In case of doubt, ask the owner Sami/Samy (not sure how he writes it) for advice. He seems passionate about coffee and has chosen a great product to distribute.

Innovative twists on espresso like a Shakerato, shaken espresso and served with orange. Hipster vibes, small pours with powerful flavor. Very friendly staff, nice seating outdoors. Would definitely return!

Café Olive was a nice surprise while we were walking to rediscover Cartier street after two years of Covid. It is a very warm little place and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I actually made this recommendation after my second visit and the staff remembered us. It is evident their interest in connecting with their customers. If you don't know what to drink ask for a recommendation. If you want something original order the espresso tonic. You can also find matcha latte. Everything we tried was prepared to perfection and delicious. In a few more weeks they are going to start selling affogatos, we will be back to try it for sure!

Secret place to drink a 10/10 coffee. Both of the coffee maker is professional and with great skills. I drink a pullover coffee here and they explain me a lot for the favor of the beans and technique. They actually did a good job and I love to stay here. I will come back next time.

Excellent coffee and nice staff. I went there every day during my stay in Quebec City. There are some chairs in front of the cafe but usually you’ll have to wait because lots of people are visiting there :)

Cute little café in Quebec. Great service, very friendly barista, excellent iced latte with Oatly. The coffee is easily the best in town and one of the best I had in Canada. The only thing that’s missing is some pastries like croissants to make the whole experience perfect. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area

Great shake espresso! The matcha with lemon was a tasty and refreshing surprised. The service was nice too. A place to come back.

The pour over V60 was the best I've had anywhere - extremely clean and balanced. Espresso is their bread and butter and is also very well done. There is no food here but a great bakery / patisserie in the indoor market across the street.

Changed my life. Went on my honeymoon with my wife and they redefined coffee for us. Great folks and the best coffee vibes in Canada.

Beautiful coffee. After receiving my delicious americano to go, I realized my baby needed a change. The staff member took us across the road, held doors for my partner carrying the baby and showed us where to find a changing table. Five star coffee, five star service :)

It is the most romantic thing that the most easily missed hidden gem guides your to find it! That’s how I met Café Olive. Very knowledgeable staff who are full of passion with artisan coffees. Very rare to see local coffee shops carry beans roasted in Denmark, but here they have that. The owner also knows better than anyone else about how to maximize the beauty of their coffee through the most elegant presentation. The cortado was smooth and balance, but slightly light due to my request of halfing the portion of shot. I’d like to try a pure americano next time.

I had an amazing affogato with vegan pistachio gelato. It was the tastiest affogato I've ever had!! The baristas know their coffee & made the perfect recommendation.

If you love great coffee, then this very friendly and stylish coffee bar is the perfect little place start your day. The ideal boost before a morning run. ❤️

Loved that tiny place! I had the afogato, which is an espresso that comes with ice cream, in this case homemade vegan pistachio ice cream. What a delight! Will definitely go back.

Finest coffee in town. Sami, the owner, is clearly passionate with great attention to detail. The best part is how you are made to feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door. Check it out.

Best latte I've ever had. My boyfriend also loved the matcha.

What a great and cozy place! About the coffee? It’s amazing! There’s a Starbucks which is a two blocks from here but I will always take my coffee at cafe waves!!

Coffee made with care and friendly people happy to have a chat. I’ll be sure to visit again next time I’m in town.

Wow, wow and WOW! The coffee is exceptional. And so are all milk based coffees as the milk is prepared to bring its natural sweetness and to the right consistency with tons of micro bubbles. A winning combination and in Quebec city, well, a rarity. Each order is prepared with care and there is a desire to excel. Staff: 5/5

👍 We were there for lunch and there was no lineup. We ordered the croissant sandwiches and coffee, both are freshly made. Highly recommend. Staff are very helpful to suggest food from the menu.
