It’s been 5 months since I visited here, and my friends and I are still talking about that lobster roll. Mother of god, it was magical. I am planning a day trip to come back here purely to eat that meal again.

Service was fantastic Clair was amazing. Food was expensive especially for the quality. Pasta sauce was just crushed tomatoes with some herbs. Prawns you could tell we're frozen and not great. Pumpkin Risotto was so bland and mushy, the mousse cheese drops was grainy. Chicken burger the bottom bun was soggy and not eatable and it was 3 pieces of chicken stuck together by the crumbs so as you ate into it it fell apart and the iceberg lettuce was the end bit of the lettuce not great. Will not go back to eat again.

I have included very thorough videos of the interior, but not many of the exterior. I shot a wedding here yesterday, and the venue offered a really beautiful backdrop for the couples preparations (not ceremony or reception). Really great views of the bay too :)

Been visiting this pub, every now and again for years. Yesterday was certainly equal best meal I have ever had there. The pub, being a nice winters day, very busy when we arrived. Staff coped with the numbers very well. On ordering our meals, we were advised there would be a delay due to the number of patrons. The advice was well appreciated. The meals arrived much quicker than expected. I settled on the scotch fillet, while my partner had the calamari. My steak was cooked to perfection, both meals came with salad and chips. In summary, both meals were excellent, especially seeing how busy the establishment was. This hotel has just undergone a multi million dollar renovation. The hotel, has a fully a enclosed beer garden, which I love, although we dined in the hotel proper. Excellent environment and views inside and out, brass fittings in the washrooms. Excellent.

Went for lunch Afl grand final day. Service was good, food arrived quickly and it's a great location. Salt n pepper calamari was superb, chips great, but the salad was lacking. Butter lettuce, slivers of carrot and a sliver of cucumber. Beef burger was tasty and again chips great. Drinks were nice, bit expensive. But sometimes you pay for location. All in all it was very nice.

Just had a fantastic lunch. Food was great and so was the customer service. Vanj was lovely. She went out her way to talk to my young child making him laugh every time she came over. Great place.

Stayed over night in a Grand Bay room for my husbands birthday. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed with an incredible view of the sunset and bay. Check in was easy and friendly. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Bellarine. We also had dinner in the Bistro with family. The service was friendly with a special mention for Chris, Leanne and Sarah who made sure we were well taken care of and were especially wonderful with the young children dining with us.

The service was really slow, despite there being plenty of free tables in our area. We had to ask for drinks and water mulltiple times. The mussels that i had were in a very basic tomato-based sauce and over a third of them were not open. I normally like to say something positive, so here it is: There is a nice view over the bay when you leave.

My two stars are purely for the bar staff can make a great cocktail… Food on the other hand you really need to taste test your food ordered the eggplant 🍆 parma (sauce on half a eggplant) no seasoning no cheese everything was served cold. Burgers and chips cold the cheese was not even melted and the muscles over cooked sauce under cooked and bread served with no finest. Yow really need to try choir food if I served this at home my family would of left the table.

We had lunch at the hotel bistro. My wife had the mussels while I had the parmigiana. Service was excellent. The newly renovated refurbishment of the decor is pleasing to the eye. The bathrooms are modern and clean. My wife loved her mussels. Highly recommended.

Had lunch their today with my 89 year old mother, beautiful food. Ordered the pork belly Yummy. Watched other food coming out looked delicious. Staff were nice service good we will be back.

Went here for dinner as a family of four. All the staff were very friendly, and the food and drinks were delicious - everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The venue is huge and beautifully renovated, with many different dining areas to suit whatever occasion you might be joining them for. We will definitely be back here next time we’re in the area!

We took my mother-in-law Alice out last night for a meal with some family for her upcoming 100th birthday 🥳 the staff were absolutely amazing a huge thank you to Vanj and Laura for their kindness and service they had the whole bistro singing happy birthday 🥳 they gave Alice a card from the staff and 2 drink vouchers, the food was lovely and a big shout out to Sarah who looked after our table. Best service I have ever had and a beautiful venue …. We are back on the 14th Oct 18 of us for her special day ……. Thank you to all Annie & Alan

Excellent lunch in bistro. Great service. Entree if prawn/ginger dumplings to die for. Dessert of crème brûlée excellent also. Great service. Wonderful to see the restoration of a grand old landmark.

The Portarlington mussels and beer that we had were actually very good but I was offended by the look of newly renovated walls. Apparently, as the waitress informed us, it was a very expensive way to purposely achieve a dirty looking wall. With so many people in the world who have no choice as to live in such an environment I found it pretentious and rude to have walls such as these in a newly renovated upscale restaurant. It spoiled my dining experience.

I came here for lunch. I was so excited because I had so many recommendations, how ever my fish was over cooked so it was a massive let downs or me. The fish was way to salty. I’ll be back in the future to stay in the room if the food improves by then, I’ll redo this review,

Great service, as always. Great pub food and cold beer. Great Margaritas as well. Something for everyone and all ages.

We had Sunday lunch with friends in the Grand Hotel's Bistro. It's a very well furnished restaurant with comfortable seating and chairs. The staff were super friendly and provided great service. The menu is typical pub food but great quality and good size servings. We also enjoyed a nice local wine. Prices were reasonable for this type of dining. We had a very enjoyable meal and would return when next in the region.

Great meals always. Service is second to none staff are so friendly and accommodating nothing is too much to ask for. Views are as breathtaking as the food and if that not enough the deserts will knock you off your feet. 11 out of 10

Just like to thank Mark and his team for a great Fathers Day lunch today. Our meals were all beautifully cooked and web also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the bistro. Much appreciated. Dorothy A.

Such a great venue and restaurant! We enjoyed some amazing meals - pie of the day, parmi and fish and chips - and the food was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about the staff (special mention to Chris) who provided exceptional service and went above and beyond. I highly recommend this venue and will definitely be back!

Always enjoy this pub, it looks amazing since the refurb too! Great beers, great service and lots of spaces to sit, even managed to do some work last time I was there! The outdoor space is great too 👍

Great to have the venue back, renovations are grand! We had a big group, but no problem, staff handled it well, Amy looked after us and did a great job, drinks kept coming, meals were quick, thanks!

We had an early Mother’s Day lunch at the newly renovated restaurant and the food was Devine and the service was fantastic. Paul Is an asset to the establishment always so helpful and always with a smile. Will definitely be back to experience the other eating areas available

The staff were warmly welcoming from check-in to checkout. No request was too much and any queries were resolved promptly and happily without any fuss. The stay was relaxing, quiet and comfortable and exceptionally priced for the goods and services provided. The food at the hotel and surrounding eateries has Melbourne prices BUT the quantity of the food is more than you would get in Melbourne. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will most definitely be back again.

We had lunch today at this hotel. Our meat was over cooked and our fish was over cooked. The sides were appalling. The bread we ordered and paid for was stale and cold. We were hungry so we ate it despite complaining to the waitress and bar tender. Needless to say we will not be back. We were on going customers and in the past the food was ok. We would have expected to be told that the manager would be speaking to us to find out why we were unhappy but all we got was laughs. Unbelievable!
