We had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but unfortunately were left underwhelmed. The service was nothing special. While staff were friendly, they weren't particularly attentive and it wasn't easy to get their attention. For some reason our food took much longer than the people who arrived after us (both tables of 2, similar orders). We were also surprised that wine bought by the glass came in a cheap looking hotel style glass, but people ordering bottles were given nicer ones. Our food took a long time to come (approx 40 minutes) and when it arrived, the T-bone was only just warm even though the rest of the food was hot. Everything was tasty, but eating the ribs (entree serve) was dangerous as it was fully of tiny chips of bone and gristle. The steak was ordered to be rare, but most of it was medium and just one part of it was rare - probably because the cut was uneven (surprising as it's famous for its steaks/connected butchery). The atmosphere was quite noisy and not very intimate, which was disappointing as we were hoping for a quite date night. While we enjoyed our food overall, it definitely didn't live up to the hype. Martini 👌 Service and atmosphere 👌 👌 👌 Entrees were absolutely beautiful. The lamb and Korean chicken Mm 👌 Mains were beautiful, slightly mishap on the wellness of the streak, however it's about how quickly they took it back and made a new one perfectly.

Over 10 years of eating at Cavs Sunday night was out of this world the food was cooked to absolute perfection steaks were amazing and even dessert was 10/10 the service was top notch absolute 💯 thanks everyone for an amazing night

It was a nice experience, their aged rumb steak is tender and juicy, and large portion. Their service is outstanding, the staff was nice, they always crowded so I recommend booking before hand. Thank you for your food and service

The customer service is really good. They gave everyone attention and quick with orders and serving food. The meals are great. I had the baby lamb ribs and pork cutlets. I only had these options and really enjoyed myself. Also, the water is good. I know why talk about the water but honestly the water taste clean and sweet.

Had dinner here. The entree of pate' was absolutely delicious. Very creamy and tasty. A little cheeky though for $2 extra for more toast to spread it on. We had eye fillet and rump steaks which were both cooked well. My cut of rump had a little too much fat on it to my liking but it filled me up. They did both need seasoning though. Lacked a little flavour as a result in my opinion. We were actually told they don't season their steaks which I found surprising. They were presented with a good amount of sides which was nice in this day and age. Fantastic service. Nice atmosphere also.

First time visit this new location, so delayed as we didn't have the best experience in the old place before, after colleague's recommendation and online research, here we went and everything was different from our memory: cosy atmosphere, very attentive service from all staff and wow the rib eye fillet was so tender and delicious, everything on the plate just complemented on each other, great value, worth every cent. Will definitely return and highly recommend to people around me.

We went here for our anniversary and after visiting, we would highly recommend this restaurant to any steak lover! We usually never buy steak at a restaurant as no one ever cooks it how we like (blue) but this restaurant exceeded our expectations! The prices were amazing and not any more expensive then a pub steak but the quality, is so much higher! The meals are great sizes and such good value! Amd the sides were so good, everything was packed with flavour amd cooked perfectly. The potatoes were so creamy and delicious, the slaw was different to any slaw I'd had before but was surprisingly amazing and they had this little tomato relish thing on the plate that was to die for, smoky and just yum! The staff were warm, welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked through the door. We were actually seated by the owner, much to our surprise, it's so good to see the owners/managers on the floor interacting with the customers, and he didn't even bat an eyelid when I asked to move tables to sit outside. As the night was quiet chilly, I was even offered a throw blanket incase I was cold. The staff were attentive but not over the top. There isn't anything we would change about our visit to the steakhouse, everything was absolutely perfect and so bloody delicious! We would highly recommend this restaurant to any steak lover! Wonderful experience here with first quality steak! The Cavill family have had a long history in hospitality starting in Brisbane last century with the iconic Beauty the Breakfast creek hotel then for many years the Surfers paradise hotel right in the heart of Surfers ! My friends found the interior cramped and preferred the older incarnation in Frank street nevertheless the fit out is functional.You can can a view of the Broadwater passage from the top ! The staff were kind enough to get me my preferred rib fillet steak even it wasn’t on the menu which is a good point to add here!

Old school no nonsense steak restaurant in a nice location, with good ambience and great service. It was out first visit and now we understand why they have become a Gold Coast institution. Not as fancy as some, but priced right and unpretentious. We will be back.

Came back for a second opinion. Definitely the best. I had the T-bone medium rare. Was cooked perfectly. The steak was juicy, tender and delicious. Had it with vegetables instead of potatoes. Would like to have a few more Veggies but was sufficient. Highly recommended and will definitely be coming back again. It was worth the drive from Brisbane to eat steak.

I don't normally write reviews but going to Cavills Steakhouse for a Sunday lunch deserves my time. The person who served us was very welcoming, his service was just the way it should be, not rushed & engaging when asking for suggestions. I live in Perth, If ever I'm back on the Gold Coast I will definitely be going back there, you will not be disappointed!

We came for lunch yesterday and had such a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the steak was just melt in your mouth. The staff were friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable with any questions we had about the menu. We thoroughly recommended this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good quality food and a great selections of drinks. We are looking forward to coming back to experience it all over again 😊

Cavs has never disappointed us and once again a beautiful meal. It's was a special day and the Entree, Mains Eye Fillet, I had the Rib Topper which I recommend and the Dessert was just beautiful. The staff are always friendly and very helpful and I must say that I like it when the waiters notice the drinks are low/ empty and ask if you would like another or when the plates are finished and they clean up almost straight away other than waiting till you go. 15/10 like always.

A. beautiful setting. Menu fantastic.one be of our group is a pescatarian & was amazed at all the wonderful options. The others enjoyed some oysters Kilpatrick & superb steak. The drinks available cover a wide range. Top quality in every way. A Superb place for a Special Lunch. Staff extremely good - focused & very efficient. We visited Cavill’s last night for dinner and it was just as good - if not better than all the other times we’ve been. The new restaurant is a more contemporary feel but the steak just did not disappoint! I had the eye fillet and it was outstanding. Lovely service from Sue, she definitely deserves a mention.

Cavils team makes you feel special as soon as you walk through the door. The food, is a wonderful culinary delight. Roof top bar is a lot of fun with huge selection of beverages.

Delivered in spades, great food, great staff, well priced, I highly recommend this restaurant to any and all on the Goldy.

Great steakhouse. They do a great rump steak. Each time I have been there the steak is cooked to perfection ! I love it medium rare. The prawns for the topper was cooked perfectly also. My wife got the lamb cutlets; they were a tad on the dry side… but definitely still enjoyable. She finished her plate with complete satisfaction. We both got the banana pudding for desert - was a great way to finish off a delicious meal. Well balanced and greatly presented. The service was incredible. Our online booking did not go through, however they still made a table up for us and also catered for our baby and pram. They even gave some hot water to heat up baby’s bottle. Shout out to the all staff at Cavs on Friday 14/7/23, you guys did a GREAT job!!! We will return in the future!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cavills Steakhouse, our third visit to the restaurant. My eye fillet was perfect and Mum loved the crusted lamb cutlets. The service team were wonderful with exactly the right level of attention, we felt very welcome. We mentioned it was Mums birthday and the team added a sparkler to her dessert which was much appreciated. Highly recommended for a terrific meal.

First time here with my partner and we booked at the roof top and had a amazing night, the Steak was mouth watering, cocktails/ drinks were great, perfect views and felt very special as a date night, but the service made it it that much better. Just want to thank our waitress on the night (Kirra). See you guys again soon and thank you.

We visited Cavill's for a celebration dinner. The dining area was a little cramped but well thought out. The service was very good indeed without being intrusive. The food was good. The starters were yummy. Steaks were cooked exactly to order, but the accompanying sauces were ungenerous, and the vegetables with the pork belly while delicious were rather sparse. No one had room for dessert, but the menu options looked good. Coffee was excellent. There was off-road parking, and children are allowed but 'must remain under control of parents', which meant that the two present were very well behaved. It's not somewhere I would suggest for very young or easily distracted children. The venue would also be a little difficult to negotiate with a wheelchair/walking aid/pram. All around a nice evening and good meal.

Fantastic food. Great quality, could not fault anything. Staff friendly and helpful. My only issue was price of alcoholic drinks.
