The food was amazing with exceptional flavor. There is a blend of North Indian and South Indian cuisines which is a Wow factor. The presentation was really good. Keep up the work team. We had a really good night and will definitely come back.

You are missing out if you are not eating here. The best, authentic Kerala (South Indian) food. Over the past couple of months we’ve been eating here very regularly and have been loving everything we’ve tried. 😀 Lots of parking, enough seats (bookings recommended), very friendly staff and clean. And don’t miss the deals (look out for them in Instagram or Facebook). They are even more amazing 🤩

Dum n Rum described in one word: amazing. If you're like me, you've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and had the typical Western Indian experience, at Dum n Rum you get an authentic South Indian experience which is unlike anything you have ever had before. They have all of the classic dishes here, but I implore anyone visiting to try something new (the ghee roast is a must try). Come with a group and have a culinary experience, order a few different things, sample the Indian beers, and have tour mind blown.

I visit Dum n Rum frequently and had experienced amazing Indian food. I got a chance to enjoy the food when I missed the taste of my native. The customer service was excellent and the waitstaffs were attentive. It was very clean and had a relaxing ambiance.

People who are craving for some authentic Kerala delicacies, you must try this place. Nice ambience, lovely Kerala music played in the background and customer service is very very pleasant. I definitely will return to try the other delicacies on their menu. I had kappa biryani and Kerala biryani..5 stars to both!

Food tastes good but the portions are ridiculously small. I have not seen any other Indian restaurants in Brisbane with such less quantities. I liked my dining experience, however the prices are not worth the quantity. Edit as of 11/9/21 Actually, only you asked me about the experience; your staff at no point did FYI. I didn't ask what your other customers had to say, I just gave my opinion on the portion size. I didn't feel at the time I needed to raise it as it isn't the worst thing to happen. That why I initially gave the three star review. If you can remember that your staff approached me three times, you surely must be able to remember or check the order. I'm sure all your customers are happy with the experience, but I sure hope your staff are being paid minimum wage atleast now...

The BEST Kerala restaurant I’ve been to in Queensland and Victoria. Had the Porotta with beef roast. The Porotta was just so flaky and beef was just right. The fish curry was EVEN better, just like the nadan fish curry we get in Kerala. 100% going back here.

On my way back from Noosa heads.. headed to this place. Getting authentic Malyali and Chettinadu food with soft appams and Kerala parota. Taste the Indian single malts for a change. This is the best Chettinad style food in whole of Southern Hemisphere. Totally recommended.

The food here is delicious. The dine in ambience is exotic and the staff is very friendly. I am a regular customer here & my go to order is the dum biryani. Their signature dishes are authentic south indian and offer a distinct taste than others. The fish fried in banana leaves is also a must try.

That is not $19 worth of fish especially because it is cheap Boney mackerel with a 2cm backbone. Sauce was not great either my partner for past 5 years is Indian and this didn't match her cooking at all.

The food and drinks were delicious except the goat dish which was very tough. Staff were friendly but the experience was very rushed. Definitely not the place for a relaxing evening but if you just want to grab some food, quickly eat and get out, then it's ok. Perhaps staff should chill a bit and only clear plates once we have finished eating and ask about next course when we have actually finished the last course not in the middle of it. I'd rate it higher if we weren't so rushed out.

We love Dum n Rum, they never let us down. We’ve been here many, many times and can never get enough. If you want to test your spice levels this is the perfect place to do so, they will really give you a challenge😅Amazing tastes of India🇮🇳 Really nice staff, and the place really makes you feel at home (I mean a taste of our home town, Kerala) I really recommend this place, and come down in Stafford Heights, I guarantee that you’ll want to come back. This is our main choice for food 😋

Dum n Rum serves the best Keralite food in Brisbane. Kerala is a state in the Southern part of India. Most Indian restaurants in Brisbane tend to serve North Indian food leaving a void for food from other regions in India. Dum n Rum does an amazing job in delivering authentic dishes from Kerela. I would highly recommend ordering from their specialities section of the menu when dining at Dum n Rum. Dum n Rum have recently introduced Toddy to Brisbane. Toddy is sort of like a palm wine made from the sap of coconut and other palms. It is an alcoholic beverage which tastes slightly tangy and sweet. It pairs amazingly well with spicy food! This is something that is really hard to find in Australia, and you should definitely try it if you get a chance. Having dined here on numerous occasions, we have had the opportunity to try many dishes from the menu. I have genuinely loved everything. The biryani, kappa biryani, beef fry, fish curry and kizhi paratha are exceptional. I love the fish pollichathu (whole wrapped in banana leaf and baked), but one should only try this if they are comfortable dealing with fish bones. For dessert, make sure to try the ada pradaman. I have found the customer service to be exceptional here. The menu provides detailed explanations of the dishes, and the staff are more than willing to explain further and answer any questions you may have. You should definitely make a reservation before you visit as they can get very busy, specially on the weekends.

What a burst of flavour and sensation! Authentic and extremely delicious food served in a classy setting. Love the atmosphere, presentation and decor. Dum n Rum is not your typical Indian restaurant. You come here to savour the dishes of South India (Kerala), together with the dishes you are used to like Butter Chicken, etc. You should definitely try Dum n Rum, and ask the management for suggestions. Fully licensed with a wide range of choices that can't be found anywhere else. If you like Zacapa rum, you should try the Indian Monk! Try the beef fry.... "From God's own country to the Queen’s land!"

Cool ambience and great selection of drinks. Something for which i can come back is for their kerala chicken curry and chicken 65 and ofcourse with kingfisher draughts on the tap. Though goat curry was a let down dish and served goat bit uncooked and too much of species. Great time management, on time food. I would definitely appreciate for the service being looked after. Manager and staff were humble to come back and check on food. Looking forward for the next visit.

This place sure has its pros n cons, but am giving it a 4 star because its one of its kind in Brisbane. It is known for its Kerala cuisine, and appeals to the South Indian crowds, but honestly if you asked me, i would remove the North Indian dishes and bring in more South Indian delicacies from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra as Brisbane needs that. Fantastic ambience, Menu and taste. I wasnt a fan of the chicken, duck and goat that had the bone in.. bcos it wasnt satisfying, barely any meat on the bones. One cant eat the bones no matter how tasty the dish is so please increase the portion size there.

Good food and drinks. Great place to enjoy Kerala cuisine. The feel that the place misses consistency. I love a lot of their Kerala vegetarian dishes. Some curries are a miss. Ask for recommendations and don't be too adventurous and you will be fine here, imo.

I ordered Malabar Chicken Biryani through a delivery app. They accidentally sent me Veg Biryani and after I called them and told them they immediately remedied it by personally delivering Chicken Biryani. The Chicken Biryani tasted good and was fairly authentic Kerala style.

Been wanting to try this as every night it seems packed. Service was amazing. The staff was very happy and very quick. My partner felt some food was spicy in the end and the mango lassi that the server recommended was a great choice! The BFD appetizer was a great starter. Tender beef, that coating was flavorful and the sauce was perfect with the beef, will order again! We ordered Palak Paneer, Eggplant Masala , Chicken Kerala, and Chili Cheese Naan. Everything was packed with flavor, the amount is right for its price. I might say, the best Indian Food in Brissie! Price wise- very affordable! They serving size matches the price which is pretty difficult to find these days. Overall, we cannot wait to comeback to try everything in the menu!!!!!

I used to miss my mom's food; but not any more...sorry mom. What can I say...this is the BEST Indian restaurant that I have been since 2006, in Australia. These guys are awesome! When the main ingredient of your food is Passion, and you add to it a Spice Blend of Perseverance, Dedication and Infinite Love - with Priceless Perfection, you create a Dum n Rum Recipe!!! Keep in mind that these guys are working full time in their own Professions like Finance, IT and you name it! Can you imagine the hard work behind this success story! Above all, if your primary concern is eating home cooked, healthy - but tasty food, then you have arrived at your destination...I have been to Dum n Rum 1.0 when they were in the city; but trust me - Dum n Rum 2.0 in the northern suburbs has exceeded all my expectations! You don't need to travel to India anymore, to taste this mouth watering, true, authentic, South Indian Cuisine; it's at your doorsteps. They will take you through a food journey, in every South Indian restaurants that you could ever imagine! Dum n Rum Team - I am so proud of you guys! Keep the fire burning and the stones rolling! God bless you guys.

Good Asian Restaurant. Bit different then other Indian food points. Here there are versatile varieties of South Indian (spl kerala) and Sri Lankan cuisines. Plus Ok range of Indian, Shri Lankan, and other south east asian alcoholic beverages. Food taste wise is ok, as you will like it. Owner has really picked a good cfief. But staff need to be more perfect in their work. For example, we had order food and drink in order. Food was served on time, but drink was missed. We waited for few minutes. So finally went near counter to inquired about drink. Then drink was served. That's wrong. Sitting arrangements should be reviewed again by the owner as it look like only fit person can sit comfortably on corner side tables. But all this doesn't matter, after you have ur meal. As taste is good. I strongly recommend this food point.

Nice ambience, but aircon wasn't on, on the day we visited! Some measures to control the flies need to be in place. If they have nice outdoor seating in place, we felt the indoors seating can be air-conditioned and under control. Food is decent. Very nice & knowledgeable, innovative staff, helped us select best dishes to our liking. Prompt replies for booking made life easy. Worth a try.

Very Yummy food, great ambiance and excellent customer service. All Their specialty signature dishes are authentic and tastes very good. Pista kulfi was excellent as it was the Owner’s recipe that was made fresh. Wait time could be more but food’s definitely worth it if you sticked on to their signature dishes. One of the best South Indian restaurants in brisbane. Loved the overall experience and will definitely visit again.

Dum n Rum was amazing and there was nothing bad with my experience. People who crave good food from South India should come here. There is a lot of options with many traditional Kerala foods. There are lots of drinks and desserts too. The service is amazing with the staff being very nice and fast with our food. Definitely recommend the Chatti Porotta Beef as it tastes amazing.

This is our first visit to this restaurant. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and quickly ushered to our table. We preferred dining indoors due as a bit chilly outside. There are two electric heaters outside but doesn't cover the whole area. Excellent well laid out menu, huge food selection on offer. There is indoor and outdoor dining options. We ordered the following Dishes to try out massala chips, tandoori chicken, lamb / goat biryani, beef vindaloo and cheese and garlic naan bread 🍞. Massala chips was pretty ordinary - your regular chips with massala spice sprinkled over the chips 🍟. Unfortunately, the chips were a bit soggy and not crispy as we anticipated. Next we had chicken tandoori very small serving than normal there was no dipping sauce included so incomplete. My husband jokingly said because it was pretty obvious it was smaller serving and he said perhaps it wasn't a chicken it was a sparrow or a quail. chicken has that beautiful charcoal flavour mixed with tandoori spices. The biryani was sensational, full of flavour a hint of spice. The ratio between rice and meat was equally distributed. Service is pretty slow. We are halfway with our dinner we still haven't got our main dish beef vindaloo and the cheese and garlic naan was still missing. The naan and vindaloo finally arrived. The naan break was delicious. The vindaloo was beautifully cooked nice and tender meat pieces. Overall verdict, there is still room for improvement.

Great service, lovely ambience and variety of food options to try from. Regular introductions of traditional recipes with a modern twist are the norm here, which helps keep customers interested. As a popular joint, finding a table when dining in can be tricky without prior booking. Some food options can be on the spicy side, which is feedback we’ve provided to the folks running the place. Parking at Rode Rd Shopping Centre is tight with entry and exit onto busy roads adding to the challenge.

This new Dum n Rum have an ambience above most regular family Indian restaurant in Brisbane . The food was really authentic as were the prices. The prawns and biriyani turned out to be a lot better than I had anticipated. Chicken Ghee roast is a must try which I couldn’t find in any other restaurants in Brisbane. If your are looking for an Authentic Indian Restaurant, Dum n Rum won’t disappoint your taste buds.

Went to Dum n Rum last month and since then i have been wanting to write the review coz i felt they really needed a shout out. I have been to dum n rum since their early days. They used to serve the yummiest food back then which gradually dropped. When they moved to Stafford they were inconsistent with their tastes. They had their good and bad days. But But But last month when i went there they totally BLEW MY MOUTH!! We ordered few of their signature dishes and they were all too good. We ordered Paal Konju, thekkan chicken roast, chicken 65, kizhi porotta, chicken biriyani, idicha beef, kothu porotta, angamali fish mango curry and a few more. kizhi porotta was yum with the porotta soggy in that beef curry which would literally melt in mouth. Kothe porotta was soft which was how i would personally prefer and they nailed it. The only flaw i felt was for the idicha beef which had a bit of kanacha oil taste but i was least bothered about that when everything was too good. Hope you continue to be consistent and make more tummies happy

This is my absolute favorite restaurant It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food and drinks in Brisbane. Definitely there is a magic in the Chef's hands as the food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Atmosphere is chill and cool and the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. For their prices it’s 100% worth it. I Highly recommend this to all the food lovers.

After such a long time, husband and I had a great Biryani and kothu parata. The taste remained just the same way as authentic Indian biryani would taste. They didn't tweak the taste and kept the spiciness just how an Indian would love it to be. Def going back for more and hopefully they keep it the same way.

I had the Chicken Korma with cheese and garlic naan. It was the most delicious naan I've ever had and the korma was delicious. I couldn't fit it all in but I was able to get a takeaway container. I also had a delicious and refreshing mango lassi. Staff were absolutely lovely and everything was made fresh.

This got to be one of the best if not THE BEST Keralite/ South Indian restaurants so far in Brisbane region and pretty sure there were none in Melbourne region as well remotely close to compare. Nice Goat Dum Biriyani, kanthari prawns also was nice. Restaurant was pretty busy and felt a bit short staffed causing a bit delay in service which is still ok considering we went on Saturday for lunch. Will highly recommend if you are after South Indian menu and I’ll be soon back to try few more items from the menu.
