My internship at the Vision Science Institute was a truly enlightening experience. Throughout my time there, I delved deep into the world of vision therapies, gaining invaluable insights into this specialized field. The internship allowed me to witness the real-life transformation of patients as they underwent vision therapy sessions. Seeing individuals regain their confidence and independence through improved visual skills was both gratifying and humbling. As I reflect on my time at the Vision Science Institute, I feel grateful for the opportunity to learn and contribute to such a vital area of healthcare. It has not only expanded my knowledge but has also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the importance of vision therapies in enhancing the lives of those in need.

I had the chance of having my internship at Vision Therapy Philippines, and it was an invaluable and inspiring experience. During my time as an intern they let us have a hands-on experience in their facility, I was able to learn and expand my knowledge in regards to Vision Therapy and Sports Vision. I am also thankful for Doctor Charlie Ho and Doctor Maia Uy and their friendly staff, who guided us through the intricacies of vision therapy and providing us resources for learning to help us grow. Their experience, knowledge and story of patients who recovered from their vision therapy, has motivated me to pursue a specialization in Optometry in the future. Thank you VSI!

Vision Therapy Philippines has assisted me in both theoretical and practical aspects of understanding vision therapy. Their quality workshops have been instrumental in grasping the concept. The staff is exceptionally accommodating and approachable. The workshop provided a great learning experience that felt like play, while nurturing my desire to specialize in this field in the future. Dr. Charlie and Dr. Maia inspired me that my dreams to pursue specialization, doing charity work isn’t impossible. I found my persons ❤️. Currently having my internship at VSI as an aspiring optometrist. I must say that Dr. Charlie Ho, Dr. Maia Uy and the rest of the VSI team helped me find a newfound passion in this career path I have chosen. They are systematic in the way they handle our day-to-day tasks, making it such a smooth learning experience for us. Aside from that, the clinic has all the latest equipment designed to make eye examinations and vision therapy a worthwhile experience for patients. In a few weeks, our internship at the Vision Science Institute will come to an end. I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to learn more about vision therapy and put it into practice. As a student intern, I had a lot of realizations about optometry and its distinct sub-specialization. Refraction and the dispensing of eyeglasses are only a small portion of the field of optometry; there are a lot of specializations that fall under optometry. Courses for sub-specialization are brought to the Philippines by VSI on their recommendation, and we are grateful to Dr. Charlie Ho and Dr. Maia Uy for their encouragement and assistance in helping us bring back the professionalism of optometry.

During my internship at Vision Therapy Philippines, I was able to see and experience every test that a patient takes. I had so much fun doing all the tests, and at the same time, I'm gaining not only experience but also new knowledge that I can make use of in the future. It also gives us a sneak peek at the possible career paths we may take in the future. Having the staff and both Dr. Charlie and Dr. Maia guide us and share information and lectures is very helpful in our career.

One aspect that truly stood out to me was the emphasis on sports vision training. It's inspiring to see how this field is gaining recognition and making a substantial impact on people's lives. Sports vision training isn't just about enhancing athletic performance; it's about improving overall visual function, which, in turn, helps individuals perform better in various aspects of their lives. The staff at the Vision Science Institute were not only knowledgeable and skilled but also incredibly supportive. They fostered an environment where learning was encouraged, questions were welcomed, and every day was an opportunity to gain practical insights. I'm grateful for the chance to work with such a dedicated team. My time here has been invaluable, and I look forward to what the future holds in this dynamic and evolving field.

I would like to thank Dr. Maia Uy and Dr. Charlie Ho for welcoming us here at VSI. I learned a lot in my internship and it inspires me to become the best optometrist that I can be. It inspires me that we optometrist can do more and not just by doing refraction only. I am looking forward to learn more in our next module.
