A fun and educational tour of La Paz! Definitely recommend it! The only thing is that I wish the company wouldn’t charge a fee at the beginning of the tour so the guide can actually get a tip worth his effort. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you:)

We did the regular tour with Max, who seemed very knowledgeable about the history, culture and architecture of the city of La Paz. The tour is mainly focused in El Rosario neighborhood, going a bit beyond the boundaries of it, checking typical landmarks as the Sucre Plaza (start point) with its peculiar prison, street food markets, the witches market, San Francisco plaza and its church, etc. Even if considered as a free walking tour, you will be required to pay a 3 USD or 20 Bolivians to pre-book it online or as a minimum payment once on it. You may substract this amount from the typical donation for a tour like this of about 7 USD / 50 Bolivians. The only feature not performed on our tour at 10 am is the final stop at a tavern as described in their website. They also have the same tour everyday at 2 pm meeting at Plaza Sucre.

Absolutely outstanding walking tour of La Paz. Max was funny and articulate, and shared a delightful mix of local history and contemporary issues in the city and in Bolivia in general. He is very passionate and that shines through in all the stops and stories. Loved the tour so much we might come back for the foodie one! A must-do while visiting La Paz!

Had a great time during this tour. I think (one of) the best walking tours so far. We did not pay online in advance, but arrived few minutes before start. Tour took about 2 to 2,5 hours, I think. Lost track of time:) Daniel, our guide, was amazing. He knew sooo much and was informative, enthusiastic and just a great storyteller. Thanks Daniel!

Had an amazing time on the food tour with Daniel. Redcap were kind enough to take me very last minute even though I was the only one on the tour! Daniel was incredibly knowledgeable about EVERYTHING, from the food and cultural aspects - I was asking a lot of questions as it was just us 😂 he also speaks perfect English as he lived in London for many years. I really enjoyed our conversations together. You have to go REALLY hungry as you get to try soooo many different types of food and drinks with interesting facts about each. And you start to feel like you might bowl down the hill. I would not have discovered some of the food we tried and certainly not the history behind them. If you’re a foodie this is a must do in La Paz to learn about the rich history of the food culture here. The office is a little hard to find so I suggest WhatsApping them!

I 100% recommend Redcap for La Paz, Bolivia. I pretty much did most of the tours they offer and we did a private tour to isla del sol and copacabana thru them. Derren went above and beyond to organize the tours. My guide with the extended tour of la paz was Chris. For valle de animas and food tour was Remberto the walking tour was Max and for isla del sol was Denise. I didnt have to go to another company because they offer it all. Everyone was amazing! They made me feel home, because of them I fell in love with bolivia even more. I cant thank them enough for making our experience memorable

Did the tour today with Christian and I'd like to thank him for being patient in translating everything in English for me :) The tour was interesting and very helpful in me getting to know the city. Christian was also very accommodating and makes sure that everyone is having a great time. :) Highly recommended!

We did the La Paz walking tour with Daniel on Mon 16th and can't recommend it more highly! His knowledge and passion for La Paz and Bolivia really shone through on this tour. He's very engaging and a great storyteller, able to weave history, culture and La Paz's unique place in Bolivia throughout the tour. The pace was good given the altitude and the fact La Paz is quite hilly. Highly recommended, especially if it's your first time in Bolivia/La Paz! We also did the food tour later the same day with Max, which was an even more amazing experience! His passion for Bolivian food and culture was infectious and he was so kind, warm and welcoming, sharing his favourite caseras with us. We loved everything we ate and drank and were transfixed by his stories. We were happy and very full by the end. If you enjoy good food and authentic culture and good storytelling - this is a MUST DO! We were a group of 6 and there was 1 other person on the tour with us, so a perfect number. Overall both tours made us fall in love with La Paz and Bolivian culture! Thank you Daniel and Max!

Our guide was really great and told some Very interesting stories which helped us understand Bolivia more. We visited some interesting places - my only issue was the size of the group. It was a little big for my liking. However it was really hard for Red Cap as most people just showed up without booking, so they had no way of planning for the group size. I wish we had more time to do an extended tour with them.

Amazing walking tour with Denise this morning! Denise is a fabulous storyteller, spoke very clearly and gave us great insight into Bolivia’s history. I wish we had time to do the extended tour.

Had 2 amazing tours with this company - a general walking one with Denise and an extended one with Max. And both were just amazing! Both guides were attentive and funny and extremely knowledgeable. They made us truly fall in live with La Paz! If you come - don’t do just a standard walking tour, take at least the extended one as well. It is amazing and offers so much more about the city. We only regretted not having enough time in La Paz to take more of their tours.

Best walking tour so far in South America. Denise was fantastic and provided some fascinating insights into the past of La paz and Bolivia

I had a great experience on this tour. Our guide was Daniel and he was full of interesting knowledge about La Paz. You get to experience the cable cars as well - a fun experience - and go through the market in El Alto. After learning so much about La Paz, I had so much more admiration and love for the place. It's history is incredible.

I love getting the cities walking tour and this one in La Paz didn’t disappoint ! Denise knowledge is infinite and she has a way for sharing the history in a interesting and funny way. 10 out of 10 - would do it again

We took the Extended La Paz Adventure and Cable Car City Tour. Very disappointed. Paid US$20 Each, saw a cemetery for nearly an hour, took one cable car up to walk though a large flea market, a whitches market which was virtually closed & that was it!

We loved and highly recommend the cholet tour with Daniel. We discovered a part of El Alto we could not have discovered on our own, it was very special. Daniel was very nice and extremely informative. We had a great time. We were with 2 kids and they loved it. The previous day we also did the walking tour with Chris and we also had a great time. Red Cap tours has made visiting La Paz absolutely amazing.

Yesterday i did the walking tour of La Paz with Max. He is a beast of knowledge and is so very passionate about his country. He told us all about the different stops we made, from the cultural, architectural and political aspects. It was very worth it! thank you Max for a wonderful tour

Did two tours with Red Cap — the city walking tour with Max and the cemetery, el Alto and Cholitas wresting tour with Denise. Both were outstanding guides and interesting tours. Max and Denise were super knowledgeable and so kind. Would highly recommend doing both tours while you’re in La Paz.

Had the chance to have Max as a tour guide and it was phenomenal. Extremely clear and interesting covering the whole history of the city from the indigenous times until today’s history. Just make sure to book online before as demand is less because of the pandemic and they only show up if someone books online. Would recommend 11/10

We just finished the walking tour and are very happy! The tour was very interesting and really gave us a lot of information about La Paz and helped us get to grips with the city! The tour guide made our day, Cristian! He was very knowledgeable and super friendly, answering all our questions (which were many!). He showed us the kindness of the Bolivian people and made us very excited about La Paz and Bolivia! Thank you Cristian! Stephen and Inês

It was a fabulous experience! MAX is the best city guide I have ever met. He did not only brought us closer to La Paz but also Bolivia in its whole. He is highly professionell, talks a perfect English and his tour is interesting from the beginning to the end. He did not care about the huge amount of questions we had and never run out of stories. He is very kind and it was PERFECT day for us! Thank you so much! We highly recommend to book the tour with Max! :)

Just finished an amazing walking tour with Max, Red Cap Tours is alive and well! It was such an informative introduction to Bolivian culture and history. Max was super helpful and answered all our questions and was an enthusiastic guide! Highly recommend for anyone visiting La Paz

Amazing experience, we took the city walking tour with Max and he was fantastic. Told us about the history of the San Pedro prison as well as through the markets and main plazas. He also went into depth about the politics of Bolivia. Would highly recommend

I took the general city tour of La Paz, Bolivia and my guide was Max. Max was MADE to be a speaker! I left the tour thinking he was genuine, passionate and CAPTIVATING. We had a really large group but I truely feel like everyone was captivated by his storytelling, knowledge and honesty. I would 100% recommend. Bolivia is filled with so much interesting culture and history.

This is one of the best walking tours I’ve been on. Cristian was knowledgeable and funny and I really enjoyed learning about the nuances of local Bolivian culture from him. Highly recommended!

We did the city centre walking tour with Rem and it was brilliant. The best walking tour I have done and a fantastic way to explore the city, going to places you might not otherwise find while also hitting the main sites. There is a nominal $3 per person and you tip at the end (50 bolivianos per person is standard). The tour lasted just over two hours, the perfect length in my view. Rem was informative and entertaining, providing enough information without overloading us. Thanks Rem!

This tour was one of the best things we did in Bolivia! Max our tour guide was fantastic, had perfect English, and amazing knowledge of the city and Bolivias history. He brought us to all the main spots you would want to see in the city, kept us entertained the whole time, and was always happy to answer any questions we had about the tour, the city, or Bolivia in general. We would recommend this tour as the first thing for anyone visiting La Paz to do!

What a great way to see the city centre, learn about the history and see how the locals live. This was only a four hour tour so there has to be much more I am sure. We did see much and had a great description of what happened when politically, what is used and when in the witches market. We were given a very good explanation of how the prison in the city center operates and how and when to head to the markets for local food and drinks. Big thanks to max who was professional and engaging, happy to answer any questions our group had and had incredible English.

6 star tour with Max on 13.9. was - authentic - very informative, essential information, easy to understand - Very lively lecture, very structured - The audience is involved, questions are explicitly welcome and are answered in detail. - History, politics, economy, current affairs and insight into the indigenous part of the population are presented in a comprehensible way. Conclusion: No improvements, as all requirements were met very well. Max: Many thanks for the interesting insights. We would be happy to go with Max again next time Best regards Wolfgang from Germany ( the man with the blue cap)
