Was expecting views of the city but mainly saw fence line. The park maybe used to have an observation deck but now it is just a park with many play structure for the kids and a big slide. 3.5 Bs per person. It looks like there used to be a place you could walk to before for a view but that is no longer the case.

(Translated by Google) When we went it was fun, nice and playful, although several parts were doing maintenance. Although it is a playground for children, it was inevitable not to use the slide they have and that gives the impression that you will go down the hill when you go down it. You also have to climb several steep stairs, so to have physical or be adapted to the height there.

I wouldn’t bother to go there as a tourist . Indeed if you are looking for a beautiful view of La Paz, Better take one of the funiculars ( Rojo or Purple ) and go to El Alto. The view over there is absolutely breathtaking taking. What a beautiful city

(Translated by Google) The park Laikakota or Laiqaquta is located between the av. of the Army of the Santa Bárbara zone. According to the linguist Galo Ila (1998) the etymology of its name comes from the composition of the Aymara words Laiqa = sorcerer (a) and Quta = Lago (in current writing), being its literal translation "Laguna Bruja". Many researchers have affirmed that the hill was named after a lagoon that was below, where the Central Urban Park is currently located. The traditionalist Rubén Ochoa (1980) tells that the formation of that lake was millenary, being visited by the Spaniards for the first time in 1540, when the conquest of Collasuyo by Francisco Pizarro and his soldiers took place. Also, when the Spaniards settled in the valley of Chuquiago Marka, they knew the Laikakota as a mysterious place. They located it within the district of Santa Bárbara, where one of the sides of the hill that was on the lake overlooked the San Isidro de Putuputu valley (today Miraflores), while the other fell to the very edge of the Choqueyapu river. On December 4 of every year, the day dedicated to the patron saint of the church of Santa Bárbara, the natives of the surrounding places, passed parties, while the troops of sikuris, humming ckaluyus and huayñus. Thus, in one of those festivities, at the end of the sunset, when the partygoers were drunk and said goodbye, they watched in amazement, as a troop of ten to twelve Sikuris was lost in a dark path, reappeared in the adjoining path and He went directly to the lagoon, in whose waters he disappeared. The next day, the authorities of the city were present in the lagoon, but they did not find any signs of the Sikuris nor did they find any corpses. The entrance to the San Isidro de Putuputu valley was made in the government of Mariano Melgarejo in 1868, which also caused the Laikakota hill, by its position, to be considered a strategic place for the armed confrontations that took place in the city, since in many occasions the popular revolts were entrenched in that place. Thus, at the beginning of the 1952 Revolution, a group of cadets of the Military College faced revolutionaries in the Laikakota, where several cadets defending the regime lost their lives. Subsequently, the government of the (MNR) installed a commando of militiamen in the hill to control the politicians. In this way, came the coup d'état advocated by Gen. René Barrientos in 1964, who ordered the movement to fight against the activists who were entrenched in the Laiqaquta, where machine guns were also installed and planes were seen flying over the hill. In the coup d'état perpetrated by Gen. Hugo Banzer Suárez, supported by the MNR and Socialist Bolivian Falange (FSB) parties, which in August 1971, overthrew the president Juan José Torres. On August 21, approximately 2,000 people, including university students and workers, met at the Hernando Siles Stadium and went to the hill of Laikakota, defeating the Castrillo regiment that was staying there. But, these were attacked by planes and machine guns at dawn (August 22), being evicted and ending the civil resistance to the coup d'état. When the mayor Raúl Salmón made a reduction of 40 meters from the hill, project of Arq. Willy Carranza Vidaurre, winner of the public contest. The mayor Julio Mantilla did conclude the construction of the plateau of the hill and implemented a lighthouse in tribute to the Julias festivities. The land was inscribed in real rights as a municipal asset in the management of Mayor Ronald McLean Abaroa. In the year 2000, the company Soft Drink Service Company, through its company EMBOL S.A., made the donation of recreational games for the integral development of children. Currently, Laikakota Park is the most attractive and attractive viewpoint that the city has in its own heart that invites entire families to enjoy children's entertainment.

One of the best views in La Paz can be seen from Mirador Laikakota, a magnificent lookout point offering not only clear panoramic views of the city center, but  a place for children to play and adults to relax. Mirador Laikakota, from Laika (witch or sorcerer) and Kota (lake or pond), runs along the length of a narrow hill, inside the Chuquiago Valley separating downtown La Paz and Sopacachi from the Miraflores area.

Enterance is 3.50BS which is nothing. You get to see some Parque Urbano side of the city. There is a nice playground and some shops to buy snacks too. In my opinion, it is quite avarage after seeing Killi Killi Viewpoint.

(Translated by Google) Laikakota or lake or place of the witches is a hill that is on the boundary between east and west of the city. It is believed that this hill was formerly a ceremonial site, whose attraction was that small lagoon in the upper pie. In the fifties this place became an excellent vantage point and control point for irregular groups of the MNR. These militiamen, who were known as such, controlled and did not allow access to it. During the revolution of General Barrientos these irregular groups fall and from that moment and during the municipal governments it is transformed until it becomes an attractive park and viewpoint.
