If
you
are
a
history
buff,
this
palace
located
a
short
travel
away
from
Stockholm
is
a
must-visit
for
many
reasons.
It
is
a
UNESCO
world
heritage
site
and
still
serves
the
current
royal
family
of
Sweden.
The
entire
area
is
huge,
consisting
of
the
main
building,
three
gardens
and
some
other
attractions,
so
you
can
spend
half
a
day
here
if
you
want
to
visit
everything.
We
were
completionist
and
covered
most
of
it,
including
the
Chinese
Pavilion
and
the
Goth
Tower
at
the
outskirts,
took
hours
of
walking.
We
really
enjoyed
the
experience,
as
the
gardens
were
tranquil
and
the
palace
historical,
immersing
ourselves
in
both
nature
and
cultural
aspect.
But
if
you're
tight
on
time,
visiting
the
main
palace
building
is
enough.
Do
take
the
guided
tour
if
you're
able
to,
as
they
provide
some
additional
info
into
the
lives
of
the
kings
and
queens
who
lived
here.
It
was
quite
an
informative
experience
and
the
price
was
quite
reasonable.
Else
the
info
boards
are
sufficient.
We
also
recommend
taking
the
boat
here,
at
least
for
one
leg
of
the
journey,
for
the
full
experience,
else
you
can
reach
here
via
bus.
The
boat
stops
just
outside
the
palace
and
take
the
meal
option
too
if
you're
able
cause
the
seating
is
nicer.
As
the
royal
family
is
still
using
this
place,
quite
a
number
of
areas
are
fenced
off,
though
it
was
an
interesting
experience
to
see
royal
guards
patrolling
the
space.
There
are
two
eating
places
here
should
you
decide
to
get
a
bite
here,
though
it
can
be
quite
crowded.
So
do
be
mindful
of
that.
Overall,
the
visit
was
quite
enjoyable
with
the
main
palace,
Chinese
Pavilion
and
the
gardens,
and
we
recommend
going
for
the
full
experience
if
you
have
the
time.
